“A ghost mystery for readers who don’t usually enjoy the paranormal.” Pebble Cove is not the sleepy coastal town Rosemary remembers from her childhood. Ghosts are everywhere, and only she can see them. When Rosemary Woodmere inherits her estranged grandmother’s Victorian teahouse, she doesn’t expect to also inherit a ghost named Asher from the 1920s.Things get weirder for Rosemary. Her grandma was … weirder for Rosemary.
Her grandma was supposedly murdered.
A body washes up on the beach, and the police suspect her of the man’s murder.
She’s trying to navigate her newfound ability to talk to ghosts.
And she doesn’t even know the first thing about tea.
Rosemary’s experience as a librarian hasn’t prepared her to solve a murder, but everyone around her is steeped in suspicion, and she has to find the truth before someone else ends up dead.
Readers, this is the first book in a new cozy mystery series by Eryn Scott. These books are all clean with no gore and no swearing. The ghosts are the only paranormal aspect in the series. And there are definitely cats because … well, there has to be. 🙂

To be a good cozy mystery a book has to have at least two of the three: a tea/coffee house, a friendly ghost, an animal that helps solve the murder. This has all three (although the cat is also a ghost lol). I love the characters and can’t wait to continue reading the series to find out what actually happened to Asher.
A great , quick read with some twists and turns!!!
I have a secret facination with cozy mysteries
I liked the unique story line…it was unpredictable! I could hardly put it down.
So much thriller. I really liked the ghost appearance in the book which made it more enjoyable.
Good characters, relationships and plot lines.
Steeped in Suspicion was a fun read. The story of a girl inheriting her grandmother’s home and the mysterious events in her new community. The only problem I had was a heroine who knows there is a danger, could call for back up but walks into it with her eyes open.
Lovely cosy mystery.
Rosemary has a unique gift – she can see ghosts. When Rosemary inherits a castle from her grandmother, she just does not understand it – because she and her grandmother have been estranged for long.
Then when Rosemary goes to the castle she begins to see ghosts and worse she sees a ghosts which was apparently also seen by her grandmother.
Slowly, Rosemary realizes that her grandmother could have been murdered and goes to investigate.
Though the plot lagged at times, Rosemary’s characterization was beautiful and made up for it. The ghost was hilarious and the hints dropped about the mystery was also lovely to read.
Overall an enjoyable cosy mystery.
Steeped in Suspicion is the first book in A Pebble Cove Teahouse Mystery. It tells the story of Rosemary, who inherits a teahouse in the coastal town Pebble Cove. It’s a town full of ghosts and she is the only one who can see them. Apart from the teahouse, she also inherits a ghost names Asher. When she suspects her grandmother is murdered and she might be a next victim, it’s up to her to solve the mystery. I enjoyed reading it a lot! I loved the characters and especially Asher. The story is very interesting and I couldn’t put the book down. I always wanted to continue reading. I’m looking forward to read the other books in this series. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read cozy mysteries.
This is a delightful book with characters I just felt I’d like to know. And Pebble Cove is a small, coastal town the tourists have yet to discover or takeover. Part mystery, small town life, and ghost story.
I adore Asher, the nicest ghost or spirit you could ever meet…..sincere, sweet, and full of gossip and information. The fact he loves books but can’t turn the pages to read or he goes “fuzzy” is as interesting as Asher can only go into places he was in while alive. He is a fully developed ghost and I can’t help but miss him when the book ended.
Rosemary or Rosie is the granddaughter of Helen and is now back in town to see the house and tea shop Helen ran in her home. The home calls to Rosemary as she has memories of happy times there as a child. And the view of water, calmess, teas, books and starting afresh appeal to Rosemary.
But first, to sell or keep the home, and was her grandmother murdered? And why does the sheriff assume her guilty after she finds a body? And why is the mayor giving her bad vibes? And poor neighbor Carl should meet Rosemary’s mom, as they both have a reason to have been angry at Helen.
Rosemary sees not just Asher, but other ghosts and the vision of her talking to Mayor Meow, dead, or to other ghosts is quite funny.
Good plotting, clues , and suspects. I was quite surprised by the identity of the killer!!
The reasoning behind Rosemary seeing ghosts is very well explained as is the life of ghosts. Totally immersed myself in the people, town and mystery……a cozy cottage with a modern approach, full of details and humor along with some scares. 4.6 stars
A wonderful story!
I am not sure what I was expecting from this book. I just finished binge reading a cozy mystery series from this author and thought I would try reading some of her other works while awaiting the release of the next book in that series. I am so glad that I did! This story really pulled at my heartstrings. That is the only spoiler I will give away. It was an entertaining and easy read. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys spending an evening reading a good mystery story. There is only one drawback, the second book in this series won’t be released for another three days! I guess I will go and check out some of her other books. I have found a new favorite author!
After inheriting her grandmother’s estate, Rosemary believes her grandmother was murdered. She gets help from an unexpected source. I enjoyed the Pebble Cove Teahouse Mystery. The twists and characters kept me interested from the beginning to the end.

4.5 Star review Steeped in Suspicion (Pebble Cove Teahouse Mystery #1) by Eryn Scott
Book one in an exciting new series from Eryn Scott and I could not wait to dive in to it. I love stories about small towns, add in mystery and a few ghosts and I knew I was in for an entertaining read with Steeped in Suspicion set in Pebble Cove.
Rosemary Woodmere inherits her a Victorian teahouse from her estranged grandmother and although she has been able to see ghosts for years, she is surprised when it appears she has also inherited a ghost called Asher.
Rosemary is shocked to learn of her inheritance, after all she is a Librarian, what does she know about running a teahouse? Determined to sell the place she visits Pebble Cove to the affairs in order, but what happens when she begins to suspect that her grandmother was murdered? The more she learns, the more danger she is in and Rosemary leans on the spirits to guide her.
There were numerous twists and turns within the story and I found Rosemary easy to relate to and I liked her. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery and am looking forward to seeing where Ms. Scott takes the series.

A new cozy mystery series from Eryn Scott! This is her third, and introduces Rosemary and the small town of Pebble Cove.
Rosemary has inherited her grandmother’s house, which is also a tea shop. She was estranged from her grandmother and doesn’t expect to do more than come to town for a short time and maybe sell the house. Her plans change though when she meets a ghost, Asher, and also tries to find who murdered her grandmother.
I love the Pepper Brooks and Stoneybrook Mysteries series, and I think this one will be another favorite. Rosemary is a smart, caring heroine who is adapting to a lot of change in her life. I liked the way she befriended Asher and stepped outside her comfort zone during the case.
Her ability to see ghosts also adds a fun twist to the story. I thought the way they were introduced and their powers and limitations were well done. Asher was funny and kind, and I am looking forward to learning more about him as the series progresses!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Liked it, can’t wait to read more in the series.
I’ve previously read the Pepper Brooks and Stoneybrook series by Eryn Scott so I was extremely excited about this new series starting. And extra excited to receive an ARC copy to read prior to it’s publication.
What I love about the previous cozy mystery series is getting to know characters in a small town and having the chance to revisit them with each new book. And I now love Pebble Cove, Rosemary, Asher, and all of the other characters I was introduced to in Steeped in Suspicion.
The mystery story itself took a little while to grow on me but once it did, I couldn’t put it down. I read 24 chapters in one day so I could get to the end. I can’t wait for the next book!
Wowser!!!
After a childhood accident where she lost her Dad and was left injured then diagnosed with Childhood Leukemia Rosemary’s Mum and Grandmother fell out and Rosemary never spoke to her Grandmother again , with grief, sorrow and guilt that she did not reach out to her Gran as an adult Rosemary now finds herself in Helen’s home and tea shop “Tea by the Sea” in the small coast town of Pebble Cove, Her Grandmother has passed away and she is here to sell up and return to Portland…..isn’t she? But when she goes out the back onto the beach only to discover a body, and the local police chief tells her to stay, Well Rosemary is intent on finding out what she can about her Grandmothers death, and she has found a great new friend to help her.
This book is so good, it leads you on many a winding path, but it never dawdles or takes its time, it is an interesting mystery, with some great red herrings I just sat back and let it carry me along,
I highly recommend this one, it will take your breath away when you find out just who the baddie is! And leave you on the hook for me!
Rosemary has been estranged from her grandmother for many years, so it is quite a shock when she finds out her grandmother has died and left her a tea shop. Rosemary has many fond memories of spending summers with her grandmother during her childhood in Pebble Cove. Her grandmother didn’t just serve Earl Grey and scones, but made special teas that helped each individual.
Rosemary is too late to attend the funeral, but she needs to go to Pebble Cove to see about selling the tea shop. Once she starts looking into things, Rosemary begins to suspect that her grandmother didn’t just die from heart trouble, but was murdered. The deeper Rosemary digs, the more she fears the person who murdered her grandmother is after her. There are quite a few suspects. Rosemary gets help from unexpected sources in the form of “spirits” that other cannot see or hear.
Author Eryn Scott has written another cozy mystery with new twists that put it above the usual themed ones. Rosemary is fully developed as the reader slowly learns her backstory. Many of the other characters are easily suspected as a killer because the author shows their possible motives. I usually like “show me” rather than “tell me” and Eryn Scott does a masterful job at this. She also brings the setting to life with a drawing at beginning of the book and excellent descriptions at the plot moves along.
I am so glad this novel was labeled as #1 in a series because I surely will be looking forward to the next one. I recommend readers buy any of her previous books for engaging entertainment.

I’m not into ghosts and the supernatural so this book was not for me.
