This is a featured deal! It was my first Brandon Sanderson read. Dystopian YA with a protagonist who is constantly making mistakes in a world filled with anti-superheroes. It’s more accessible than some of his epic fantasy if you’ve been meaning to check out Brandon Sanderson.
love this series
This was the first Sanderson book that I read. I have been a fan ever since. The Reckoners series was great. It lead me to his Mistborn series which I am currently reading and loving. Next up – the Stormlight series.
I loved the main character and was kept guessing as to Steelheart’s weakness the whole book. It was a fun, fast read, that was full of adventure.
I’ve come to expect great things from Sanderson, and he didn’t disappoint. Steelheart was a wild ride from beginning to end. My favorite part of this story was the way Sanderson masterfully kept multiple possible avenues open until the very end so I could speculate to my heart’s content and still be surprised by the outcome. I’m happy to say I did …
Loved it even more this time around. Having finished the series, it’s interesting to read it again knowing the twists Sanderson always throws in.
I was not expecting this. It was so unique! It felt like a Marvel movie with more likable characters. I liked how quirky they all were. Surprising and well-written. Different than anything else I’ve read!
Couldn’t put it down. A new twist on the idea of super hero’s, not always being the hero. Absolutely would recommend. As always Brandon Sanderson did not disappoint.
This was a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the concept of superpowered beings (Epics) ruling over this new version of society and the rag-tag group (Reckoners) working underground, attempting to defeat them. I didn’t necessarily love any of the characters, but they each brought something unique to the table. I also felt that the dialogue ran …
There were so many thought provoking lines and the world was built in such a twisted way. The end was amazing and very satisfying.
Very refreshing hero book. I like it most because of it’s entertainment value and Brandon’s writing is just so good at settling you into the story without pulling you away.
If you like intricate, many paged fantasy novels, read this book! It is the first book in the Reckoners series. Excellent series; read all the books of the series in order. You will be glad you did.
One of the most engaging and engrossing stories I’ve read in a long time. The action begins right from page 1 and continues onto the end. But it isn’t overwhelming. The characters and story are completely original. I look forward to the next installment.
Fantasy author Brandon Sanderson’s first venture into the YA market (The Alcatraz series is middle grade, from what I hear) tackles this issue of absolute power corrupts absolutely into a revenge story that is both surprising and inevitable.
Readers of any age will find David’s bad metaphors a riot. It blends non-sensical humor found in younger …
I’ll read anything he writes
This is my second foray into the waters of Brandon Sanderson’s genius. And it can only be called that. Genius. His stories are so incredibly crafted.
This book is a young adult book, but it felt more like a mature middle-grade book. Not quite young adult, but not completely juvenile either. There are definitely mature themes in the book, but the …
Best trilogy I’ve ever read!
Steelheart’s my first Brandon Sanderson book. Really loved the characters. They each had their own, well-defined personalities. The protag, David, had a hard time with metaphors. LOL Read the book. It was great.
Steelheart is the first Brandon Sanderson book I’ve read and now, after finishing it, I’m wondering why it’s taken me so long to try one of his books. Steelheart was fantastic! I had a blast reading it! It was completely engrossing and action-packed. Things did get a little slow in the middle, but it wasn’t long before it really picked up …
Brandon Sanderson’s coolest book. Not his best. Not his most popular. His COOLEST. Why?
Super heroes. That are EVIL. Dystopian Chicago turned to solid Steel. Energy weapons. Holographic projectors. Wrist-mounted computers. And an ANTI-GRAVITY MOTORCYCLE!
There’s super beings with incredible powers everywhere, awesome world-building, teen romance …
