For one man, power is king. For the other, loyalty reigns. Mob boss Luca “Steele” Abello isn’t just dangerous—he’s lethal. A master manipulator, liar, and user, no one should trust a word that comes out of his mouth. Yet, I can’t get him out of my head. The time we spent together before I knew his true identity is seared into my brain. His touch. His voice. They haunt my every waking hour … They haunt my every waking hour and occupy my dreams. So does my guilt. I’m literally sleeping with the enemy and betraying the only family I’ve ever had. When I come clean, it will be the end of me.
Byron Harris is a distraction I can’t afford. I never should have let it go beyond that first night, but I couldn’t stay away. Even when I learned who he was, when the only option was to end things, I kept going back, risking his life and mine to continue our indiscretion. The truth of what I am could get us both killed, but being with the man who’s such an integral part of the Hawke family is even more terrifying. The only people I’ve ever cared about are on opposing sides, and I’m the rift that could end their friendship forever.
Love is a battlefield isn’t just a saying, for some, it’s a reality.

Steele Resolve (The Hawke Family Book 6) by Gwyn McNamee is sadly the last book in this great series. I suggest you read all the books in the series in order so that you get the complete picture and backstories of all the wonderful characters. I have come to love all of the characters in this series and am glad that Gwyn included Luca as part of the Hawke family. This sexy M/M romance is a story where it is bad enough being a mob boss without throwing being gay into the mix makes for one suspenseful and explosive story.
Luca has come home and wants back into the Hawke family that he had when they were younger but when your are the son of one of the most .mob bosses, you are by default just as bad as your surname. What he didn’t expect was to find the one person who could make his life complete.
Byron can’t stop thinking about the man he had just had a one night stand and when that person turns up for a meeting with the Hawke’s he realises just how much of a mess his life is now in. Will he reveal the truth to the people he sees as family or will he walk away from the best thing that has ever happened.
This story was so good I am sorry to see the series end but can’t wait to see what Gwyn has in store for us in the future.
Steele Resolve by Gwyn McNamee is the sixth and final book in the Hawke Family Series. I wasn’t ready to say bye to this family so I put off reading the book until the curiosity got the better of me and I’m so glad I finally caved.
Bryon and Steele are a couple I want to hang out, actually I would love to hang out with the entire Hawke Family. They just seem like a group that knows how to have a lot of fun and each one of them love their partner and family like there is no one else.
I’m really going to miss each and every one of these characters, but feel like the series ended perfectly. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. McNamee releases next.
I know I’m not the only one who is sad to see the Hawke series coming to an end. It has been such an amazing, heartfelt saga. I love a good M/M romance, and this story was woven into the Hawke family so seamlessly, running on a timeline alongside Tainted Saint. Luca and Byron had searing chemistry, and their angst had me clenching my fists rooting for them over and over. I have come to love this family so much! This has been a wonderful series! It had a little bit of everything, and it’s such a well-rounded world filled with imperfections that are so perfectly written! Truly sad to see it end!

I think my heart may be officially broken! This series has been my all-time favourite ever written by an author I have absolutely come to adore! I will admit I am not a fan of m/m stories but I needed to read Steele Resolve because I knew I was going to finally find out about Luca! The book was very cleverly written running alongside timewise a previous on in the series. The dual POV meant I was fully able to understand the characters and their most inner thoughts and feelings – this meant in true Ms McNamee style some wonderful twists and turns appeared! The whole series was tied together with this story and I really was so sad when I realised that this was actually over. Byron and Luca’s story was so intense that I forgot that I was reading a m/m story after all love is love! Their story was truly captivating and I loved every second of it.
From the moment I read Savage Collision (book 1) I knew I had found an author to love and a series that would be amazing to read and it absolutely has been. That still remains one of my favourite books ever.
The Hawke Family series has truly been outstanding and I cannot recommend the books enough. Steele Resolves was the perfect final book and it deserves the 5 stars I give it!

5 ++++ Stars
I just can’t face that there will be no more Hawke Family books, and since there is a sentence after the end of this book that leads me to believe there will be something more in the future, I will hold out hope that we haven’t heard the last of them.
I’ve loved every one of these books, as well as anything this author writes, she is an immediate go to when I want a story that kind of makes me feel like I have come home.
This one was a bit tougher for me as I don’t normally choose to read this type of book but I had to in this case and just skimmed through a few parts and stayed completely focussed on the storyline. Luca was hard not to like, I think it’s because this author gave us insight into his thoughts. What he was dealt because of his crime fathers death was a struggle that he managed perfectly. I could see both sides of this and felt how hard it was on everyone. Luca grew up loving the Hawkes and thought of them as family. He is left with big decisions to make, ones that will affect everyone he loves..Will he get back all that he wants in life or lose absolutely everything?
This as usual was written beautifully and I highly recommend grabbing this whole series, none of this will make sense if you don’t have the whole story behind everyone in this book.
I see a reread of this whole series in my very near future!
Ah….I hate that the Hawke Family saga is over….but a truly beautiful ending indeed. I’ve wanted to read some MM from Gwyn McNamee and she did not disappoint me in the least. When we last saw Byron, he was getting ready to confess something to the Hawke’s and it is a doozy. While we kinda know in our heads what he has to say, hearing how he met Steele and how their “relationship” continued despite all the bad Hawke/Abello blood truly drew me in. Luca wants his friends back, but he also feels the need to make his mark, wipe out his father’s horrible legacy, be who he is and all while keeping himself alive. At some point, something has to give….and it may not be in the manner you are prepared to deal with. Suspenseful and at times heartbreaking but in the end, we have a satisfying end to a storyline that kept us enthralled from the very first collision!
“…we all do things in a split-second that can have a ripple effect of consequences we never expect.”
STEELE RESOLVE is the final book in “The Hawke Family Series” and as is as amazing as the rest of the series.
Each and every book was a page turner. Some i liked better than others and each featured a well plotted story, completely developed characters, action, adventure, sexy times and romance.
This author has never let me down. While I am sad to read the final book in the series, I am incredibly satisfied with how it wrapped up.
This is a very very quick read with all of the elements that made this series awesome.
It is super important that this series be read in order. Each has a thread that follows each book. If they are read out of order, I think it will be confusing. Don’t short change yourself, the series, or the author… read in order.
I loved this book, a little sad to see the series end but I can’t wait to see what this author has next for us. This is not a standalone series and should be read in order to help the enrichment of this series. This is a well written story with characters that pop off the pages and is my favorite yet. Luca and Byron are strong and have a strong chemistry. They have a forbidden love but what will happen when the Hawkes find out about it? Read to find out! This is a must read book and series.
What a story and series. McNamee is a skilled writer and masterfully wraps up the Hawke series in grand fashion with this last installment. Unexpected twists, suspense – just fantastic plot development. I loved it from beginning to end and only regret it had to end at all.
Steele Resolve: A Hawke Family Novel by Gwyn McNamee is the sixth book in the Hawke Family series. This is a series that will have you hooked immediately and each book just seems to get better.
When I read this book I didn’t both t read the blurb or look at the cover at all so was initially shocked to realise it was the M/M book that I had been dying to read. These characters have had their story bubbling away in the background for ages and I was so excited to finally get my hands on it.
I absolutely loved the two of them together. I honestly couldn’t say which one of them I preferred. They were perfectly compatible together in a way that just sucked me right in. The story was not disappointing either. This is one author I have come to expect high quality work from because time and time again she delivers, which is exactly what happened again this time.
This was a brilliant way to end this series, although I am sad there won’t be more to come. I can’t wait to see what Gwyn McNamee does next.

I refuse to believe this series is over.
We’ve been through so much from the very beginning and while I had my reservations about Luca, this story did him justice. I cant imagine how hard it is to keep your worlds separated and make everyone happy.
And Byron, oh the turmoil he was in for the situation.
This, like all the books in this series, grabs you from the get go and doesn’t let up until the end. If you haven’t read this series yet, start at the beginning or everything will not make sense and also spoil alot! Cannot wait to see what this author comes out with next, but am sad to see these characters go.
To end with peace when their worlds have been nothing but turmoil is the perfect way to send this amazing group of people out!
Byron and Luca have been on the sidelines watching the hurt, pain and devastation caused at the hands of an Abello and it’s only fitting that an Abello fixes that devastation! His work is cut out for him and it’s a war not a battle he will fight to not only find love but find his family once again!
Luca was the glue to piece the hole in Byron’s heart that no one knew existed and it was Byron who was Lucas guiding light to figure out where his place is in the world! Only together can these two be hole and only together can they help to patch up the lives of the Hawkes!
My heart is content yet sad that this is the last book for the Hawkes and I’m so overcome with emotion getting to see them all together again! I have loved this family for years and I will continue to love them always! Thank you Gwyn for an amazing group of people and thank you for writing a book that lets us all know to be who we are no matter what! Let love guide you and you won’t regret it!
Love this series
Love the Hawkes
Love Luca and Byron
The Hawke Series has ended with a passion-filled, intense romance. Luca and Byron bring fire to the pages. They give sexual tension a new meaning. Their love is forbidden, a betrayal, but a connection that cannot be denied.
Steele Resolve brought the series full circle. The author brought back tidbits from past books that I had forgotten. This family has struggled yet survived and they continue to do so. Family is everything to the Hawkes and family isn’t just blood. Family is who you choose it to be.
This book is written in dual POV and the book flowed seamlessly between the speakers. This is an important factor in an M/M book since both views were from the male perspective. I never found myself wondering who was speaking. The book also recalls important pertinent facts from the whole series to remind the faithful reader of previous events. Most of the book takes place in tandem with Tainted Saint but on a different plain. Now we get to see behind the scenes that were eluded to previously.
I’ve followed this series from the beginning, each book bringing more secrets to light, bringing more drama and tragedy. I honestly thought Steele Resolve would contain a lot more drama and angst simply because of every other book in this series. It does have some drama but it mostly focus on the push and pull relationship between Luca, the son of the notorious mob boss and enemy of the Hawkes, and Byron, the faithful employee and friend of the Hawkes.
It’s been an awesome ride and I am sad to say goodbye. I wonder if this is really “goodbye” or just “see-you-later”. Gwyn McNamee has many more stories to write and I will continue to read them, Hawke or not.
This sexy, intense story is a masterful balance of twisty suspense, sizzling m/m romance and a beautiful finale to this extraordinary family saga.
I have been so excited for Luca’s book. The build up of anticipation amongst the Hawke clan in the previous two books that surrounded his return to NOLA was fantastic and created the perfect segue to his story. There were so many possibilities of what was in store. Layered with suspicions, threats, a ton of deceit creating really high expectations in my mafia loving mind. And once again, this talented author took me where I never expected to go! With her impeccable writing, perfectly executed twists and an ending I never would have expected – my mind is blown and my heart is full!
Nothing beats a gorgeous, powerful, ruthless mob boss with a heart. Wait, what? Yup. Luca’s return was like returning to his roots. To his childhood friends that were like his family. Only they weren’t welcoming him with open arms. Oh no. They were skeptical, protective of their own and I’d say bitter. Luca’s father, Dom, was like a wrecking ball to his tight knit crew. How were they to know or trust in his intentions after all the pain and havoc they’d endured? No one is safe.
Byron was an unexpected surprise. His ties and loyalty to the Hawke family was a complication to say the least. What starts as an innocent (wink wink) night with a beatiful stranger turns into a forceful pull and intense attraction. His struggle is nothing short of heart breaking. Will his desires cost him everything and everyone?
When things get gritty, will they all work out their differences and find common ground? Or will the secrets and deceit tear them all apart for good? Every word…every detail…SO SO GOOD!
Even if you don’t usually read M/M, you really should give this book a try. I don’t seek out m/m stories, as they just doesn’t do it for me. But I wanted to read this because it’s part of the Hawke family books. However, as a story this is a good one. The timeline runs a bit parallel to Tainted Saint and then continues on. We’ve seen Byron in the Hawke books since Savage Collision, so it’s good to get his story. We find out how he ended up in NOLA, and so much more about him. This was a good way to end the story of the Hawke family, especially with that epilogue.
A hot and full of feels conclusion to the Hawke family saga
Luca and Byron are such a sexy and passion filled couple. Theirs is not an easy path to love and happiness, but then nothing worth having comes easy. What they do have is an incredible chemistry that burns up the pages of this story and scorches both their souls.
Byron owes the Hawkes so much, they have offered him friendship and a sense of family when his own let him down. Luca is the son of the enemy, the man whose father nearly destroyed the Hawkes and has caused them untold pain and misery. They are the Romeo and Juliette of the MM romance world, torn between their feelings for each other, their sense of honour and the influences of the outside world.
Despite Steele Resolve being a novella, it still packs a powerful punch. By focusing very much on the two main characters we still get to know them really well, along with getting drawn in by their feelings. It was a fantastic end to a wonderful series, with an epilogue that is very much the icing on the cake.
If you’ve read any of the other Hawke family books then you won’t want to miss this. Whilst it can be read as a stand alone it does contain a few spoilers for the previous books. It also runs concurrently with book #4 (Building Storm) and book #5 (Tainted Saint). It’s also a must read for those who love a well written MM romance.
Steele Resolve is the sixth and final book of the Hawke family series. What a way to end, with the passion of Byron and Luca. Luca, a moss boss, and Byron, a trusted bartender of the Hawkes should stay away from each other. What happens when the Hawkes find out that they have been together? This you definitely need to read to find out.
I hate this is the end of the series but it is one of the best I have ever read. Make sure to read them in order.
