The former Tin Gypsy motorcycle club has everyone in Clifton Forge, Montana convinced they’ve locked their clubhouse doors and ripped off their patches. Everyone but Bryce Ryan. There’s more happening at the club’s garage than muscle car restorations and Harley rebuilds. Her instincts are screaming there’s a story—one she’s going to tell.As the new owner of the small town’s newspaper, Bryce is … Bryce is hungry for more than birth announcements and obituaries. When a woman is brutally killed and all signs point to the Tin Gypsies, Bryce is determined to expose the club and their leader, Kingston “Dash” Slater, as murderers.
Bryce bests Dash match after match, disappointed her rugged and handsome opponent turns out to be an underwhelming adversary. Secrets are exposed. Truths defeat lies. Bryce is poised to win this battle in a landslide.
Then Dash breaks all the rules and tips the scales.
One kiss, and she’s fighting to save more than just her story. She’s fighting to save her heart from the Gypsy King.

A few years ago, I more or less swore off MC (motorcycle club) books. I couldn’t deal with the treatment of women in most of them, and I always felt a little put off by the easy acceptance the heroines had of the way their men acted in their clubhouses. Gypsy King drew me in with the idea of the club having been shut down, the fact it was Devney Perry writing, and she’d yet to let me down with her stories. I can’t say this book quite stands up to her other novels, but it was exciting and a fairly unique concept, and I know I have to finish this series because I still have so many questions about, well, everything.
I was never a huge fan of Bryce, her single-minded, bullheadedness concerning Draven Slater and the Gypsy Kings at the beginning of the book was maddening. Thankfully, Kingston (Dash) completely won me over. His affection for Bryce made her more appealing to me, but he definitely stole the show. Dash may have had a sordid past, but his fierce protective and loyal persona more than made up for any past misdeeds. When coupled with the losses he’d suffered, I was obsessed with Dash finding answers and happiness.
The Tin Gypsies may have been a motorcycle club at one point in time, but this was in no way an MC book. It was interesting to see how the previous actions of the club informed what was happening in the present and brought Bryce and Dash into one another’s lives, but I was exceedingly happy not to have to deal with all of the more unsavory parts of an MC. The intrigue and suspense were still there in spades, and that was what I had missed when I gave up MC books. Devney Perry did an excellent job of staying true to her style of storytelling while introducing a subgenre into her repertoire that I would have never expected from her.
Gypsy King is the first book in Devney Perry’s new series, Tin Gypsies. Gypsy King told Bryce and Dash’s complete love story, but there were so many other storylines that are unfinished, I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I am so intrigued by all of the other ex-Tin Gypsies; I can’t imagine I’ll be able to feel settled about anyone’s future until I know they’ve all found safety, stability, and love.
Just like any other Devney Perry novel – I was immediately pulled into this story and setting from the start. D Perry has a way of creating a scene so real that you can’t help but place yourself there. I could imagine the Montana small town, the old garage, the small-town newspaper, and cute bungalow houses; and with that all, mostly I could imagine Kingston “Dash” Slater and Bryce. They were both two different pillars of the community each with their own dynamic personality. I was smitten with them from the start.
This book starts off a new series about an old, disbanded motorcycle club. It is edgier and grittier than Perry’s usual novels, but nonetheless still follows along her lines of relatable characters, the push and pull of the hero/heroine, and a plot that will have you turning the pages faster than ever. The story between Dash (the ex-MC member) and Bryce (the determined news journalist) was addictive. Their chemistry was captivating from the start, and I loved every second of their banter, sexual tension, arguments and passion. Both of their characters grew on me as each chapter went on.
This story is full of suspense and I was ready for allll of the answers by the end of it which we did not get. I was a bit surprised by that, and felt the end of the book was a bit fast-paced and missing some “closure.” But I still loved the storyline and characters overall and will definitely be awaiting book 2 in this new series! Well done once again D Perry!!
Enemies to lovers with all the angst, fantastic world building and effortless writing!
Love this new enemies-to-lovers from the amazing Devney Perry!
Addictive.
Romantic Suspense.
Swoon-worthy MC hero.
Check, check, check. Get it!!
This is the first in an all-new series from one of my favorite authors! A strong heroine and an addictive enemies-to-lovers story, it’s set in a small town in Montana, and had me on the edge of my seat! You’ll love it!
Y’all. Hold on to your socks. Devney Perry is about to knock them clean off your feet.
I will say that it took me a little bit to sink into this one. I wasn’t sure what to make of Bryce at first and I wasn’t sure she was going to work for me as a heroine. It didn’t take long for Ms. Perry to turn that around, though and having just turned the last page I can honestly say that Bryce was the perfect kind of fierce, independent, lion-hearted heroine. Paired with the sort of low key alpha we got in Dash – their relationship was full of sparky chemistry and banter. I adored the evolution as it moved relatively quickly from enemies to lovers to…more. I felt that ache in my chest. The one I constantly crave. The that indicates I’m feeling the connection and emotion. I loved the fire between them – physical and otherwise. There’s a lot going on in this book, but I didn’t feel like it was at the expense of the romance – which felt like a reward in and of itself.
I felt like Gypsy King was Devney Perry like I’ve never read her before. It’s the same sort of compelling storytelling I’ve come to expect, but…different. This is not your typical MC story. Though it’s gritty, and thrilling, and a fair bit suspenseful, it’s all executed from a different angle and the whole thing felt like some kind of wild ride: exciting, addicting, and a total rush. With the first book in the Tin Gypsy series, Ms. Perry has not only delivered a masterfully told story, she’s also begun weaving a complicated, multi-layered tapestry that we’re only just beginning to understand.
This was only the tip of the iceberg and I suspect we’re on the verge of going a lot deeper, twistier, and intense.
I Can. Not. Wait..
I am 100% on board for more of this ride and am on pins and needles waiting to see where things go from here.
I LOVED Gypsy King! A brand new series from one of my favourite authors and she brings us the Tin Gypsies! This is a brand new series with an MC theme running through; however as you’ll find out when you read it it’s not your typical MC story.
Bryce was a brilliant character. Strong, independent and seriously feisty. Having left her TV job in the city, she’s back to Clifton Forge and working as a journalist at her dads newspaper.
Determined to find some great newsworthy reports, when a local lady is found murdered at a local motel and fingers are all pointing at one person, she’s determined to get to the bottom of it. She’s sure the Tin Gypsies know more and have more secrets than they’re letting on even though they no longer exist as an official MC.
Dash is brilliant. I loved his character. Full of strength, fiercely protective and loyal to his family and friends, he will do anything to protect them. When the nosy reporter starts sniffing around the garage he’s determined to keep her away. However he doesn’t bank on their connection and realising there’s far more to Bryce than she lets on.
I was addicted to this story from start to finish. The story drew me in and left me feeling like I was living there right alongside the characters. All of the characters were fantastic, and I can’t wait to find out more about them hopefully in their own books.
Bryce and Dash’s connection was off the charts and I loved seeing their relationship go from enemies to lovers & from strength to strength.
A story which will keep you on your toes and the pages turning. With plenty of twists and turns, not forgetting a few things which sets the scene perfectly for the next book in this series. I can’t wait!
Really, really liked this from Devney Perry. It had do many elements that make up a great story!
It took me a few pages to get into the story but once I did, man did I love it. It’s an interconnected stand-alone within a series. For me, the mystery is not fully resolved but you do get a bit of completion for the main character’s story, while the overall picture seems as though it will continue on into the next book…hopefully that made some kind of sense LOL.
I really liked the characters a lot in this book. King was a really well-developed Hero in my opinion and I loved the tenacity of Bryce. The two together lit my kindle on fire!
I am so excited for Riven Knight and the teaser at the end of Gypsy King made me even hungrier for the next book!
Gypsy King was so much more than I expected, the thrill, the suspense, it was amazing. This new series by Devney Perry was mind blowing nothing like her other series, Dash was EVERYTHING, I just loved everything about him. I also loved how sassy and brave Bryce was, these two together were FIRE.!!! This story was about a someone who was trying to find herself, someone who needed the adrenaline and time passion. I loved this book a lot, I had been waiting for this since Devney announced it. You cannot miss out on this amazing book.
This is a MUST READ!!!!
I am so excited for book two!!!! I have a feeling that one will be full of jaw dropping moments!!!
Bryce and Dash have fantastic chemistry that was explosive when they came together. It felt a little like enemies-to-lovers with some MC thrown in. However, this isn’t the MC I was expecting. They have shut it down and are trying to live a law-abiding life until one of them gets arrested for murder. Bruce and Dash reach a truce so they can help each other solve the case; Bryce for the newspaper and Dash to clear his Dad’s name.
This was a good read and I’d definitely recommend! Especially chapter 9 😉 When this book brought the heat, it was fantastic and I wish there had been more sexy times, but maybe that’s just me? Great read overall though, especially if you like a thriller with some romance and sexual tension thrown in!
Devney Perry writing an MC romance? Count me in!!
And, whoa, what a heck of a start on what’s going to be a fantastic series! Gypsy King is book 1 in the Tin Gypsy series and sets up the storyline.
And we get to meet Dash. Who is now my favorite male lead in ALL of Devney’s books. Dash is smart, strong, loyal, fierce, protective, and sexy AF. The perpetual bachelor—the bad boy who believes he’s better off single due to his past. Until he meets Bryce. The spitfire who lights him up—mentally, physically and emotionally. And he’s determined to make her his.
But Bryce isn’t having it. Nope, she’s out to prove the former members of the Gypsy Kings are still up to no good—especially when tragedy strikes. But can Bryce move past her bias, move past her insistence to tell her version of the truth, and find love and some grey in her black and white world?
I really and truly enjoyed the start of this new series—especially the scenes between Dash, Draven, and the rest of the crew. The MC may have been disbanded but the brotherhood remains, and it was awesome to see them rally together when needed. It took me a bit to warm up to Bryce—she came off a bit too abrasive, too mean-spirited at the start, but once she and Dash saw beyond their differences and their romance heated up, I really grew to like her! And, I really cannot wait until the next one! ~ Missy, 4 stars
Decent has done it again. I can always tell a Devney Perry book from everyone else’s. Unique and strong characters, uniquely developed world building, classic and strong writing style but a style in its own right, I am blown away each and every time I read a DP book.
Gypsy King was an amazing introduction into a new world that sucked me in from the beginning and gripped me until the last page. Bryce and Dash were fire together and I cannot wait to read the next couple!!!
This is my first Devney Perry Book, I HAD to see what all the fuss was about.
Was this story the best book ever? No.
Will I read book two? Probably not.
Will I read this author again. Yes! ( I think I’ll go backwards instead of forwards. )
The Gypsy King has an amazing cover! I wanted this book just for the cover alone. I think honestly my expectations were really high going into this story. The whole first half of the story was just dragging. I understand she needed to lay the groundwork, and intertwine the characters while developing but there were so many details I could have gone without.
I’ve read several MC books, over the years and these badass bikers were kinda soft. I didn’t like some of the explanations that were given, and I thought the end was kind of corny.
I did enjoy the run around towards the end and I would have liked to know who the culprit is, so in that respect Ms Perry nailed It!
Once again Devney Perry gives us a book that is so incredible, you can’t stop yourself from devouring it without coming up for air! The long awaited, much anticipated Tin Gypsy series is here!!
One hot reporter nosing for a story. At the right place at the right time.
One hunky ex MC member trying to live life on the right side of the law.
Sparks fly…
“Our eyes met and my heart boomed, stealing my breath.”
and the unplayable get played! BAM!
The Gypsy King is the first book in the series and Dash is definitely the King!! Bryce is the take no prisoner kind of gal with relentless determination. She’s recently back into the reporting gig and eager to make a name for herself. What better way to do that then to reveal the truth about the local MC? She’s not buying into the town’s belief that the MC is law abiding and friendly, she’s determined there is a story buried that needs to be revealed and she’s just the person to do it.
But as she investigates, things get complicated.
That complication is spelled D-A-S-H.
Being on opposing sides, they are supposed to be against each other. But they can’t stop thinking about what it would be like to be literally against one another.
“Everything about her pissed me off because of my body’s reaction.”
The magnetic attraction becomes too strong to fight. They give into one steamy encounter and the sparks are volcanic!
They SHOULD go their separate ways. Yep, just walk away.
“Dash was a villain in every way, but had that stopped me from foolishly hoping he was more? Nope. I was ashamed of myself. Not for the sex. For the hope.”
Yes, Devney gives us lots of combustible steam, but she also intertwines a brilliant story showcasing the reality that nothing is ever what it seems. The more involved Bryce becomes the more she realizes nothing is black and white. She starts to question what’s really important.
“Then Bryce ruined it all with her sexy smile and shiny hair. She ruined me.”
At the same time that Dash realizes how strong his feelings for Bryce really are, he also realizes how close she is to uncovering buried truths. One nudge and everything the club has worked so hard to achieve will all come crumbling down. He needs to shut her down, to walk away.
Will these two have what it takes to walk away for good? Or will they be able to hurdle mountains to make it work? The bigger question becomes will they be the ones with the choice or is there someone else pulling the strings?
Wowza! Devney weaves her stories well. Two fantastic characters who clearly belong together, yet they can’t. Trust and opposite sides are and will always be an issue. Devastation, heartache, steam, and love, this book has it all. In The Gypsy King, Bryce and Dash get their story, but the larger mystery that plays throughout the story is yet to be solved. That will continue through the next book. Speaking of which….. I CAN”T wait for Isaiah and Genevieve!! Hats off to Ms. Perry for another fantastic series!!
I read an ARC of this book. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
How exciting! This is totally different than anything else I’ve read by this author. It’s just as amazing as her normal stuff but this….this is exciting, edge of your seat exciting.
It has such a wonderful story that will totally consume you. It’s riveting, gets your blood pumping and yes, it’s sexy. Dash and Bryce are such great characters, she’s fierce and he’s a hot biker. Together they are explosive.
This read leaves us with some questions so I’m very excited for the next book to see where we go next.

The Gypsy King by Devney Perry is an amazing start to her brand new series Tin Gypsy. Devney writes a sensational story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. I don’t usually read MC stories but because it was Devney Perry you bet I will read it. Boy am I glad I did it has murder, suspense and of course a possible romance. This book kept me turning the pages well into the night I had to know what was going to happen. Deveny has such a way to keep you interested and engaged throughout the whole book. Her descriptions make you feel as if you were right there with the characters. This book is very well written and the characters well defined. I absolutely loved it. I am counting down the days until Riven Knight releases. I highly recommend this book because it has a little bit of everything in it for all readers.
I was so very excited to read this for two reasons — first, I’ve been looking for a MC romance that I could get into and second, I have heard so many good things about this author. I hadn’t read anything by her until Gypsy King and I’m definitely going to be following this series as it moves forward.
I was hooked from the very first scenes in Gypsy King, especially when Bryce Ryan meets Dash Slater. Oh my! The sexual tension in that meet-up is just off the charts. Things continue to heat up between them each time they are together. It’s just so well done, especially since they aren’t exactly friends at the start of the book.
There’s a compelling mystery to Gypsy King as Dash and Bryce both try to uncover a murderer. I loved the suspense here, and the gradual unfolding of the clues. But I must say that the enemies to lovers story of Dash and Bryce was really what had me turning the pages.
Gypsy King had everything I want in a MC Romance — hot men on bikes who value friendship and family along with strong women who love hard and protect their men just as much as the men protect them. I really enjoyed this story and I’m ready for more of this world.
An ARC was provided for review.
So much wrapped up in this book. Small town, suspense, incredible characters… Devney Perry delivers another great read!!
Bryce and Dash… so much happens. Incredible connections and story!!
