Gypsy King has been one of my most anticipated reads of 2019! What an epic start to the Tin Gypsy Series! I was hooked and on the edge of my seat from the very beginning! I couldn’t get enough of this story and how I was glued to my kindle throughout. I absolutely loved this book!
Where do I even begin with Bryce and Dash? I fell so head over heels in love with these two! With every page turn I was so happy to dig deeper and connect with both of them. I admired their determination and strength so much!
I felt everything under the sun with their story! I had no idea which direction their journey was going to go which made me love it even more. I really enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story as well.
Ms.Perry has done it once again with Gypsy King! It was such an amazing, unique, and oh so addictive read!
This reading experience was unforgettable for me and I’ll cherish it in my heart always. It definitely just became one of my favorite books! I am so excited for Riven Knight!

Author Devney Perry dipped her writing pen into uncharted waters for her and started a MC romance series. Her writing is so dynamic and flawless in any trope that she writes. She draws you in and invests you in the story. You are left breathless and turning the pages to dive further into her fictional worlds.
Gypsy King is the story of Bryce and Dash. Bryce is determined to find out why the Tin Gypsies disbanded and Dash is determined to protect his family. He wants the truth and she wants the story. Can they work together to solve a murder and discover the truth?
The story is multi layered and multi faceted and will ensnared and enrapture you. The characters may be each other’s ride or die, but Author Devney Perry is one of my ride or die or read or die authors.
I love Devney’s books and this is a definite departure for her. I loved Gypsy King. It was a great mystery wrapped inside a romance. Bryce is a reporter that is digging her hands into a murder mystery and is causing all kinds of havoc. Dash is part of a local MC club that is intertwined in all things crazy.
I loved how there was lots of mystery, more then I have ever seen Devney write. But there was also crazy hot bikers, and a bit of humor too.
You really didnt know what to expect with Gypsy King and it kept me guessing. I usually can figure out whats going to happen and for the life of me I couldn’t guess what was about to unfold.
Please read this new series it is a great book that will have you turning pages.
When the most notorious motorcycle gang claims to be reformed almost overnight, it’s always a cause for concern. The Tin Gypsy might have the town of Clifton Forge fooled but Bryce Ryan knows better. She is going to expose them for the criminals that they are. No matter the cost or consequence.
This book was such a different Devney Perry story and I am here for it. I was up late at night trying to get to the end of the book in a mad rush.
Without giving out any spoilers, I’d like to commend Devney for writing a really good story with a solid mystery element. I was engaged from page 1 and kept being invested till the end. I wanted to keep on reading because all the secrets were really well kept and I needed all the info STAT.
Enemies to lover and MC romances are both my go to tropes and this story had both of these elements in spades. I am always weak for bad boys and Dash was no exception. I swooned a lot when he was talking. I also wanted to shake him at times but it was all out of love.
Bryce seemed a bit greedy in the beginning but she was just doing her job and I liked that she was a genuinely rational person. I think she was absolutely kickass and the way that she handled Dash had me screaming in delight.
I was left a little disgruntled by the end but hopefully we’ll get more in the next book which I am INSANELY excited for. Like hello?!?! A broken man who has next to nothing to live for?? PLUS a marriage of convenience? I’m already invested.
Devney Perry writes a book about an ex MC president? I was both confused and delighted. Though Devney doesn’t usually venture into the MC sub-genre, her writing stands on its own enough to know Gypsy King was going to be good. And good it was.
I love enemies to lovers tropes, which is what we get with Gypsy King. Bryce and Dash were complex and emotional characters who had me feeling all the feels from beginning to end.
Whether you are a new reader to Devney or an original like me Gypsy King will hook you and keep you routed to her words for a long time after you’ve finished.
5 On The Edge Of Your Seat Suspenseful Stars!
Wow!! I think this pretty much sums up my feelings for this book. What an absolutely amazing start to a new series. Devney certainly knows how to completely enrapture you with her stories and this one is no different.
I absolutely loved Dash and Bryce! You can practically feel the sexual tension between the two come off of the pages! Who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers book!
This story is full of scorching hot tension, twists that you don’t see coming and it will have the on the edge of your seating devouring the book as quickly as you possibly can!
A truly amazing, gripping story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have fallen in love with this new series and I cannot wait to see what else will be in-store for the rest of the Tim Gypsy gang!
I love reading MC (Motorcycle Club) books because there is always drama, angst, hot guys on motorcycles who are loved (and possibly hated) by strong women. So on first glance, Gypsy King’s has all of the makings of a deliciously dark MC romance.
Tribune newspaper reporter, Bryce Ryan, is determined to prove that the disbanded Tin Gypsy motorcycle club, who use to terrorize the small town of Clifton Forge, Montana, is still stirring up trouble. Her only obstacle in finding out the truth about the Tin Gypsy’s is Kingston “Dash” Slater, former member and president who is determined to stop her at all cost. *Insert scorching hot chemistry and passion here.*
Speaking of passion, Bryce and Dash’s chemistry is off the charts hot! I loved the angsty relationship between these two. It kept me entranced in this story, even when I felt lost in the plot. Vague villains with unknown and strange motives aside, this story felt too rushed and incomplete and it left me feeling confused while at the same time wanting to know more. And even with all of these issues, I’m still intrigued about the mystery surrounding the Tin Gypsy. I hope the next book in the series will at least answer a few questions that was brought to the surface in Gypsy King’s.

4 1/2 STARS!
Explosive secrets are exposed! In GYPSY KING, Devney Perry’s kickoff book in her new Tin Gypsy series, we meet former president Dash of the Tin Gypsy’s motorcycle club as he goes head to head with Bryce, a reporter determined to tell the public the story of what’s going on in their small town. The characters are well developed and the story line was quick to catch this reader’s attention.
Dash is electrifying. We learn from the start that he has done bad things, but he comes across as an overall good guy, and when he sets out to clear the former club’s name during a murder investigation, we see a loyal side to him.
Bryce comes on strong at first as she decrees she will find out what truly happened to disband this club. It doesn’t take long after she interacts with Dash for her to change her tune a bit. He’s easy on the eyes and want it or not, she’s soon under his spell.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit of suspense with their romance. It’s a former MC, so there’s not a lot of action on that front going on, but some of the members are still around and jump in to help when needed. We are left in a bit of a cliffhanger on the mystery we tried to solve throughout this story, but the happily ever after of the couple isn’t up in the air.I’m looking forward to the next book in the series and hope to get all of the answers of what happened then!
Perry has veered away from contemporary romance and given us the first book in her all-new suspense duet, Tin Gypsy. I certainly wanted to know what the real reason behind the head of the motorcycle club shutting down such a lucrative albeit illegal business years back was. Saying that, I found the story a tad slow to begin with and that gritty bite I look for in this kind of read felt absent. Nonetheless, I gave the story a chance and it paid off.
An unknown enemy goes out of their way to make it look like an ex-member of the club committed a crime and Bryce, the new small town’s ambitious journalist wants to get to the bottom of it. I love a spine-tingling thriller with a good dash of romance, so when the intrigue and steaminess picked up, I was in my element. There’s plenty of twists and turns and untold truths to keep the reader aroused, too. Especially the outcome of a past happening which won’t go down at all well with Dash, surprises the socks off his father and complicates matters no end.
It took me a while to connect to Bryce. She gave me the impression that reporting the scoop for her dad’s newspaper and making a name for herself was more important than people’s feelings. Her not being intimidated by Dash’s threats earned my respect though and later on, them coming to an agreement of sorts seemed to me to be the most sensible they could have done. Had to smile. Neither of them is quite sure how to handle their instant attraction. In fact, he quite likes the fact that this spunky woman stands up for herself.
For me, Dash was lacking what Bryce had. In its day, the club was well-known for its shady goings-on, the members to be reckoned with. I think age had mellowed then somewhat and it’s clear to see their all happy in the workshop renovating Harleys. Their bad biker image does kick in when things heat up and Dash responded exactly how I’d hoped he would.
The back and forth of Dash and Bryce’s sexual innuendos and banter added a playful touch and was really well conveyed. I liked that they were on the same page and even though a couple of big-little bombshells were dropped, there are still a lot of unanswered questions waiting to be answered. Parts of the story I found a little drawn out, but that didn’t stop me enjoying Gypsy King and looking forward to the conclusion in Raven Knight coming soon.
I’ve never been a huge fan of MC reads, I’m an avid Sons of Anarchy fan and no MC book I’ve ever read has matched up to the love I have for SOA! Gypsy King wasn’t your normal MC read and I think thats exactly what I loved about it! Im always intrigued by Devney Perry’s writing, her storylines always keep me engaged and her characters are always relatable and real.
As far as everyone in Clifton Forge, Montana is concerned, the Tin Gypsy motorcycle club no longer exists. The doors are locked, members have ripped off their patches and gone the straight and narrow. Or have they?
Bryce Ryan however is not easily convinced. Enter ex-leader, Kingston “Dash” Slater who has Bryce asking all the tough questions and uncovering secrets everywhere. The dynamic between Bryce and Dash made for an exciting read, there chemistry is off the charts and inevitable.
I’m a sucker for romantic suspense and loved the suspenseful feel of Gypsy King, It had me up all night flipping pages trying to find answers. The plot was unpredictable and the pace quick moving but fit perfectly with the story and the characters. Devney Perry is an incredible writer that has a knack for writing so many different genres and making each book she writes unique and addictive.
Gypsy King is the type of story that you need to go into blind so you can enjoy it exactly how its meant to be enjoyed and I’m so excited to get my hands on the Riven Knight, the next instalment in the Tin Gypsy series.
Brilliant! A high octane fuelled ride that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! What an impressive introduction to this authors work. This book called to me the minute I saw the cover and title.
This book has it all…
Red hot sexy bikers.
A Feisty ball busting heroine .
A plot built on past revenges.
Hidden Family secrets.
An alpha hero that calls to your lady parts.
Just when you think you have it worked out Devney flips it around and leaves you even more clueless. This story goes way deeper and the plot more intricate than I first imagined and I cannot wait for part two. Oh ….. and damn you Ms Perry for that ending !!
Gypsy King is a wild ride you don’t want to miss! You should literally take everything you think you know about this book, and throw it out the window. I was completely taken from the first page and couldn’t stop til I finished, immediately wanting more. The story is filled with plot twists I guarantee you won’t see coming. The mystery of the killer will keep you guessing and on your toes, and the drama will have you breathless with anticipation that you’ll be talking about for days! This book was SO much more than I expected when I started it and I immediately bought the paperback, cuz I know it’ll be one that I’ll revisit time and again. Such an amazing new series, that I found myself begging for the next book well in advance. Devney Perry has once again raised the bar!
I am not usually a fan of MC romance novels. However, Devney Perry has created an engaging and interesting world in Gypsy King, the first book in her new Tin Gypsy series. The MC club, while not active currently, still casts a shadow over all parts of the story.
Bryce has moved to Clifton Forge, Montana to run the local newspaper with her father. While it took me a little bit to connect with her character, I did admire her love for journalism and how she would not let Dash, or others, intimidate her.
Dash is a former Time Gypsies president and current owner of the auto garage in town. He was a driving force behind ending the illegal activities in the club and shutting if down. He was an interesting character and I was glad this book was dual POV so we could get into his thoughts to learn more about the club and his past.
The overarching mystery and suspense were well done, and kept me interested. There are some loose ends that don’t get tied up, but I expect we will learn more in book two.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Deep breath in…now out. HOLY CRAP!! DEVNEY PERRY!!!! What a way to start a series. Gypsy King was riveting and sexy. Dangerous and smart. Unputdownable.
To me, Bryce was the star of the show here. She was bold, confident, wily, determined and not afraid to go after what she wanted. And what she craved the most was the truth behind the Tin Gypsies. It lead her to the garage where she came face to handsome face with Dash. And the arrest for a murder.
Holy hot with a side of mayhem, Dash! I liked that he was broody and protective and stunned stupid when it came to Bryce. He didn’t like that she was a few steps ahead of him when trying to unravel just what went down with the murder that stirred up their sleepy town. So he hatched his own plan, get her on his side. What he wasn’t expecting was how much he would like her. Not just her information.
My head is still spinning with everything that unfolded while reading Gypsy King. Murder. Family. Danger. Reasonable doubt. Fear. With plot twist after plot twist, Devney Perry sucked me into this world where all is not as it seems. Where the former bay boy is oh so good and a fearless woman brought him to his knees. And that ending…ugh- so dang good! I am itching to see how the mystery that started here plays out over the rest of the series.
Devney Perry first won me over with her heartfelt and emotional books. They are always written with so much heart and passion that they never fail to draw me in from start to finish. When I saw that Devney was writing a trilogy about a former MC, I was intrigued. It was a bit different from her other books, but, being that it was from Devney Perry, there was no way that these wouldn’t be right atop my TBR.
And, so, GYPSY KING. Big win for me, with a strong, take no nonsense female lead, and a cocky hero that is not beyond redemption. Bryce and Dash are an unlikely couple, but once they find that they share a common goal, spending time together only serves to show them that opposites sometimes are the best fit.
There is suspense and angst aplenty here, with surprises around every corner. Devney has created a whole new world and group of characters to love, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for them. I will say that this is not the typical MC read, so, if that’s putting you off, I challenge you to give GYPSY KING a chance. You will not be sorry.
I devoured this book in one sitting. DE.VOU.RED! Gypsy King completely sucked me from the very first page. Three hours later I had gone on riveting and wild ride filled with suspense, lust and secrets galore. So desperate for answers the mystery surrounding a murder made me want to read faster. It’s so good!
The enemies to lovers trope provided the most delicious and flirtatious banter between the sexy as hell Dash and the tenacious spitfire Bryce. I could not help but love these characters. They’re so perfect for one another. Dash is so accustomed to everyone cowering to his threats, he’s thrown off by this beauty who’s not easily intimidated and will definitely hold her own. I loved their chemistry. Now, while yes their connection was instant, it was not short on passion, admiration and love.
What I love most about MC romances is the family dynamics and the loyalty the members show towards one another. We get that here. Although the club has disbanded the loyalty amongst the members remains. I will say, for an MC romance, Gypsy King was tamer than I expected. I wouldn’t hate it if it were a little darker and grittier. But that’s just me.
Overall, Gypsy King was such a great way to kick off a new series. We were left with some questions that I’m sure will be answered in future books. I’m curious to see what’s to come – especially with Isaiah. Color me intrigued.
All. The. Stars
Gypsy King by Devney Perry is the first book in the all new Tin Gypsy series. This book seriously BLEW ME AWAY! Days after finishing, I still can’t gather my thoughts to write this review. I’m going to be honest and say I was a teeny bit skeptical picking up this book but you guys it was sooooooo incredible. It had everything I love about romance stories.
Hot as hell bad boy
Strong heroine
Amazing storyline
All of it was rolled into one unforgettable story. I want to shout from the rooftops every single detail I loved about Gypsy King but I won’t spoil it even a little bit. I will say that Bryce was fierce and authentic and I honestly fell a little bit in love with her. Her dedication to finding the truth was admirable. And King…god that man brought me to my knees. He was perfectly flawed and had a beautiful heart underneath that rough exterior. But together… they were explosive.
Ms. Perry knocked this book out of the park. She wrote such an amazing story that had me staying up all night until I was finished. I cannot wait to see where this series goes!
Devney Perry has outdone herself with Gypsy King! Loved it! Every time this author starts a new series, I get so excited…
Packed with drama, action, loyalty, mystery, intrigue…alpha males, strong heroines!
Lots of hot moments, loads of chemistry!
I cannot wait to see where the author takes us in book 2! Highly recommend and this cover is gorgeous!
