OH MY FREAKING GOD….
What a bloody brilliant book. I was hooked feom the very first page.
Dash Slater WOWZERS he’s just *sighs*. He gives me all the damn feels and makes swoon oh so much.
Bryce Ryan I love her. She’s so sassy as hell, driven and independent and doesnt take no for an answer.
The banter between Bryce & Dash in the beginning when he finds out who she is… hahaha it’s just hilarious.
Plus the sex scenes… HOT AND SEXY AS HELL!!!
Loved it from the very start and didnt want to put it down. Was so hooked. I now can’t wait for the rest of the series xx
To be honest, I’m not really a fan of the motorcycle clubs usually…I am however a huge Devney Perry fan, and this book was incredible!!!! I absolutely fell in love with Bryce and King. Everything about this story had me turning the pages late into the night! I cannot wait for more
Thank you Wildfire for an advanced copy. I voluntarily reviewed this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

*REVIEW*
First, I have to say I love everything about this cover! It is fabulous! Now, on with my review. Bryce is a journalist looking for a story in the town of Clifton Forge, where she has recently moved. Her snooping leads to a man named Dash, and he is the former president of the now disbanded Tin Gypsies MC. Someone is murdered, and Bryce and Dash both become entangled in the investigation, which leads to them becoming entangled with each other. Bryce and Dash have an obvious and crazy hot chemistry. Bryce is intelligent and intuitive and stands her ground. Dash is a mix of good and bad, but I like who he is becoming now. They are good together. The story is engrossing and thrilling with mystery and romance, but I didn’t love the end. It’s a satisfying conclusion, but I wanted something more conclusive. If you like the MC genre, this is a great variation on the normal trope, and I recommend reading it.
5 Stars
Full of suspense, mystery and a cast of outstanding characters. This book is an amazing start to a new series and will keep you turning pages to find out how it all ends. Dash and Bryce go through one crazy roller coaster ride before they arrive at their happily ever after. The book ends with some mystery and a “woah” kind of ending they keeps you wondering what we will find out in the next book about Isaiah and his road to happily ever after.

5 Gypsy Stars
I don’t know where I’ve been that this is the first book by Devney that I have read, but I am here to tell you that it won’t be my last. She has crafted a multilayered story-line full of angst, intrigue, sexual tension, and suspense. Once you think you know what’s going on, she throws a curve ball and leaves you breathless. I loved everything about this story and I can’t wait until the next book releases. If you love your antihero’s with strong heroines that don’t take any shit, than this book is for you!!!
“My name in his voice gave me goosebumps on my skin.”
Bryce is a super ambitious woman who is incredibly smart and quick witty. She’s firey which is exactly what I love in my heroines. I love the woman who can bring a man to his knees with her mind alone. The banter between her and Dash is fantastic they both don’t pull any punches with each other and it’s so easy to get lost in their word play. Bryce does not back down from Dash and he is not used to that at all. I internally high-fived her every time she shut him down and didn’t cower to his dominance.
“She’s under your skin.” And soaking deeper, down to the bone, every day. ”
Dash is not used to women like Bryce. He actually has to put forth some effort in order to get her submit. She drives him crazy and he loves every minute of it. Dash is the definition of Alpha he was the President of the Tin Gypsy MC so he is used to getting what he wants when he wants. Dash is perfect, he has an air of dominance to him and the right level of arrogance to make him supremely drool worthy. Not only that but when he slowly starts to drop his walls with Bryce you get to see a whole different side to him that would make any girl swoon.
“We hadn’t made a commitment. We hadn’t made promises. Except as I stood and watched her leave, I realized that no other woman would kiss me again.”
This story intrigued me from that start. Seriously once I started I could not put this down until the very end. Also, it is based on an MC sure it’s disbanded but it definitely still has that vibe. So, if MC romance isn’t for you maybe stay away from this one. And fair warning the ending definitely leaves you with a ton of questions which I’m hoping get answered as the story progresses. But if you take the chance on this you will not be disappointed with the world that Devney has created.
I’ve heard so much praise of the author’s work in the past, but I just never found the right opportunity until her latest Tin Gypsy series. Devney Perry didn’t disappoint in delivering Gypsy King, an alluring enemies to lovers romance story with a side of suspenseful murder. The hero, Dash, had a MC background but the MC aspect was not the focus of the story.
The book focused on the romance between Dash, ex-president of the Tin Gypsy MC, and Bryce, the town’s truth-seeking journalist. Their witty banter and rivalry added sparks to the already taut sexual tension. Their chemistry and attraction were explosive and intense.
To be honest, I disliked Bryce at the beginning because she was so judgmental and prejudice against Dash which was totally opposite from what I would expect from a reputable journalist. I almost DNF’d the book because of her. However, I slowly warmed up to her feisty character as the story developed.
I would expect Dash to be more rough and crude since he was the ex-president of a notorious badass MC. Contrary, Dash was an honourable alpha with a sweet and vulnerable side who you cannot help but liked.
There was a side story line of a murder mystery with twists and secrets interwoven throughout the book. I was a little disappointed and confused while I was reading the epilogue. I thought I missed the outcome of the murder case, so I went back to reread the last chapter and confirmed that the case was not fully resolved yet. I guess this side plot would continue in the series.
Overall, I enjoyed this mysterious and suspenseful story and it was an excellent start to a new series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Gypsy King is not your normal MC story. It is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers, romantic suspense story that is fast-paced and sexy and unique. A must read!
Stories like this are why I love romantic suspense, there is just something about being on the edge of your seat while reading that is so thrilling to me. This story had more twists and turns being thrown at me than I could count – time and time again I was surprised with the new turn in the story being unveiled. My judgement of a good twist in a suspense book is when I end up yelling out loud “What is happening!?!”
The dark past of the Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club fuels is the underlying mystery of who brutally murdered a woman in a local motel room. With Dash’s father as the prime suspect – there is no telling what he’ll do to prove his father is innocent even if that means teaming up with feisty local reporter Bryce Ryan. From the start, Dash and Bryce had sparks flying between them, I loved the push and pull of the scorching heat shared between them – nothing could keep them apart, even their mutual hate for each other. And gahhh -that charisma Dash exudes – he definitely put me under his spell too. Yet Bryce is not a woman to be messed with – even when threatened by powerful men who truly could kill her, she is out to expose the truth no matter the consequences. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book in the series – consider me hooked! 5 stars!
Ladies ladies ladies I’m jealous already that you get to experience Dash and Bryce for the first time.
Devney Perry gives us another reason to fall in love with her words. This Woman is an absolute amazing, wonderful storyteller.
I loved this cover from the moment I saw it now I’m so glad that this DAMN AWESOME COVER HAS AN EVEN BETTER STORY TO GO WITH IT…
I have no idea where to start or how to put into words. I refuse to give away anything because we all need to be surprised and kept on the edge. This book from the first page grips you. What you think this will be it isn’t.
Every page will give you a different emotion. That for me was amwzing. The thrill, suspense and banter all of it fucking awesome and written so well. The chemistry and pull between these two was Gripping.
Everything about Dash and Bryce leaves you wanting more. You never want their story to end.
I have already got my Favourite side characters Draven is Dash’s dad I really want him to have a HEA also Presley she just needs a night in shining armour.
I cannot wait for the next book. Im fucking thrilled about this series.
Enjoy!!!
Do you know this magical feeling when you start reading a book and get totally engrossed in the story so you forget the whole world around you? That happend to me with Devney Perry’s Gypsy King. This fantastic book is the first installment in her highly anticipated Tin Gypsy series. It was the perfect mix of romance and suspense, with lots of angst and jaw-dropping moments as well as heart-melting and swoony ones. The writing was flawless as it’s always the case with Devney, the plot extremely thrilling and fast-paced and the characters well developed and multi-layered.
We’ve been introduced to the notorious MC club from Montana in The Clover Chapel. I was totally intrigued by Nick’s younger brother Dash and his complicated relationship with his father Draven, the president of the club. I’m glad that Devney has decided to write a whole series about its former members. It connects effortlessly with the author’s previous well known and successful Jamison Valley and Lark Cove books. If you’re a die hard fan of Devney’s work like me you will more than appreciate the cameos of some of the beloved characters and places from these books.
Bryce Ryan has left her prestigious job as a TV anchor woman in Seattle behind in order to join her father at the small town’s newspaper as a co-owner and new journalist. She is ambitious and wants to make a name for herself. Bryce is sensing a story behind the sudden dissolution of the famous Tin Gypsy motorcycle club. Everyone in Clifton Forge except her seems to believe that they’ve closed the clubhouse for good and ended all their illegal businesses in order to lead honest lives. There must be more going on at the former club’s garage than car restaurations and rebuilts. When an innocent woman is brutally killed all signs point towards the Tin Gypsies and their founder. Bryce is determined to expose the club and help put the murderer behind bars while Kingston “Dash” Slater is desperately trying to find proof of his father’s innocence. Long kept secrets are going to be exposed and hurtful truths revealed that will change lives forever.
These two opponents will clash on more than just one occation while trying to outsmart one another. Both are stubborn and competitive. I loved the sizzling chemistry between them. Their banter was sexy and witty and in the bedroom they were dynamite together. Bryce was Dash’s match in every way. She wasn’t easily impressed or intimidated, was very smart and perceptive. It was her plan to expose Dash as a criminal but instead she found out that there is so much more to this incredible man than just his history with the Tin Gypsies. He was protective of the people he cared about and loyal to the core. Dash was far from a flawless hero but he was perfect for her. I’ve loved these characters with all my heart.
I could honestly gush about this story for hours! It was that good and exactly what I needed at this moment. I strongly encourage you to pick up this epic must-read right now and let Devney put you under her spell. I promise you won’t regret it. I’m giving Gypsy King 5+ well-deserved stars and am putting it on my top favorites of 2019 shelf. Now I can’t freaking wait for Raven Knight and to find out what this exceptionally talented author has in tow for my beloved Isaiah and sweet Genevieve.
I’ve just finished reading Gypsy King and feel like I’ve hit the book jackpot! Now all I want to do is shout it from the rooftops how freaking amazing and unputdownable this story was! I love Devney Perry’s writing. It’s flawless, beautiful and touches you in all the right places. It’s therefore no surprise that my expectations for this book were huge! And let me tell you that Devney totally surpassed them. The plot and characters took my breath away! I can say without a doubt that this romantic suspense is one of my top favorite reads of this year!
If you’ve read Devney’s previous novels you’ve already heard about the notorious Tin Gypsy motorcycle club from Clifton Forge, Montana. They’ve once been involved into serious stuff like drugs and underground fighting. Now they’ve locked their clubhouse down for good and took off their patches in order to live their lives as law obiding citizens.
Everyone is glad that the Tin Gypsies are history. But Bryce Ryan, the young and charismatic journalist and part owner of the small town’s newspaper has her doubts about that. She’s sure that there’s more happening at the club’s garage than car restorations and Harley rebuilds.
When a woman is brutally stabbed and killed at the local hotel, all signs are pointing to Draven Slater, the former president and founder of the Tin Gypsies. Bryce is determined to expose the entire club as criminals and murderers. But Draven’s son, Kingston “Dash” Slater is standing in her way. He’s hundred percent convinced that his father is innocent and is determined to prove that to her and everyone else.
Bryce is always a step ahead of Dash until he breaks all the rules and tips the scales. Now after they’ve kissed and finally given into the strong chemistry between them, Bryce will realize that there’s more at stake then just her story. She might lose her heart to the Gypsy King.
Gosh how much I loved Bryce and Dash! These two were like fireworks on the fourth of July together. Their chemistry was scorching hot and palpable on every page. They started as enemies who stood on opposite sides. But once they got to know each other and decided to work together, instead of against each other, they couldn’t resist the pull between them any longer.
Kingston “Dash” Slater was the perfect anti hero. With his bad boy image, sexy looks and hot tattoos he is used to turning women’s heads wherever he goes. Doesn’t hurt that he’s talented with his hands and is riding a Harley too! He never had to work much for a woman’s attention until he meets Bryce who isn’t easily impressed or intimidated. Her beauty, intelligence and determination will make him crave things he never thought he wanted but desperately needed.
Bryce Lane was a great heroine! She was beautiful, smart and ambitious. No matter how much Dash pushed her, she always pushed back! I loved that she was a strong woman and not a doormat. Her work at TV and journalism took up all of her time, leaving her without a family and kids of her own. After she failed at that part in her life, she was more than determined to succeed in her career. But when her and Dash’s paths crossed, she realized that some things are more important than a story!
Prepare yourself for some major angst! Secrets will be exposed and lies will come to light that will have the potential to destroy lives. Can Bryce and Dash find the real murderer or will their investigation cost them their lives?
Please do yourself a favor and read this book! You won’t regret it. Gypsy King will keep you at the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. If you loved Devney’s previous books, then you will be as happy as I was about the cameos of some well known characters like Nick from Clover Chapel. I shamelessly admit that I’m officially hooked on the Tin Gypsy series and can’t wait to read the next book Riven Knight. Bravo Devney Perry! 5+ stars.
I loved this book I found Dash to be a wonderful hero and had been waiting on his story it felt like forever! Read the book you will be glad that you did!
MC romances aren’t something I read a lot of. I’ve only read a few. Gypsy King isn’t your typical MC romance though. It’s so much more. This book had everything I was looking for: suspense, amazing characters, romance and twists and turns that I didn’t see coming! Going into Gypsy King, I didn’t have many expectations, but I can tell you that they are very high while I’ll be waiting for the next book.
Bryce just moved back to her home town. TV didn’t end up being what she wanted, so she’s going to take over her father’s newspaper. When a murder happens in their small town, Bryce sees a story waiting to happen. She thinks she knows how it’s going to play out, but Bryce is about to figure out not everything is as it seems!
I enjoyed Bryce’s character. She’s a strong woman and I loved that she chose to come back and follow her dreams when TV didn’t go as planned. It’s clear she just wants to tell different stories and in her own way. I’d have to say in the beginning she was just a bit annoying. For a journalist she wasn’t always as open minded as I would’ve expected. And I definitely didn’t agree with some of her decisions, but I loved seeing her eyes being opened up to a whole different world she didn’t know.
Dash isn’t a character you want to love, but it happens anyways. He was a part of a MC and they weren’t sweethearts. They did a lot of illegal things, but are turning their lives around with their garage. The murder in town comes a little close to home and his life is turned upside down in many ways.
Dash seems like an arrogant jerk in the beginning who thinks he should always get what he wants! There’s more than meets the eye though. He just wants the ones he loved protected and will do anything to make that happen. Even work with a journalist he can’t stand. I ended up loving Dash. Learning about his past made me understand him a lot better and I just wanted him to get his own happily ever after in whatever way would work for him.
Bryce and Dash couldn’t have been more opposite than they were, but it worked. I loved the banter and them annoying each other. There was definitely a lot of tension and attraction neither of them wanted to admit was there. Once they let go, sparks did fly! I enjoyed their chemistry and the strong team these two made. I think they needed each other more than either of them wanted to admit. Opposites do attract and they’re the proof!
On top of the romance aspect of this story, I loved the suspense side as well. I wanted to know what happened and enjoyed investigating with them and trying to figure it out. This author was good at giving us some twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. A couple of things did feel a bit too predictable, but the rest of the storyline made up for it!
Devney Perry definitely left me wanting more! There are quite a few characters I want to know more about, so I’ll be anxiously awaiting the arrival of the second book!
I’ve been looking forward to this book for awhile and Devney did not disappoint.
We get Kingston “Dash” Slater former President of the Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club in Clifton Forge Montana quietly trying to live a normal life with the garage supporting them. Enter Bryce Ryan who co-owns the newspaper with her father looking for a big story. When a Murder happens in this quiet town she is on the hunt for the bigger picture. I love the back and forth betwenn Bryce and Dash, she is fiery and doesn’t back down. The suspense was very good and leads us wanting the next book in the series to learn more. Love that link to her other books in the characters. Like a little dessert. LOVED IT!!!
I’m not really a fan of journalist heroines, because they tend to jump to conclusions and take forever to see the whole truth. Or they do that scary movie thing where the girl thinks she’s not in danger but is, and is too stubborn to listen until it’s too late. Thankfully, Bryce had brains and common sense, or else I’d have shelved the book in frustration!
Bryce Ryan’s intro wasn’t the best because she was gung ho on proving the disbanded Tin Gypsies had stuff to hide, yet her methods of garnering info was…mildly irritating. Have no fear, I warmed up to Bryce fairly quickly, due to her sassy wit, sharp intelligence, and no holds barred attitude. And she could admit, begrudgingly, at times, when she was wrong. Basically, I appreciated her very human reactions to the situation.
Kingston ‘Dash’ Slater was a tough guy, cocky attitude, and what seemed like little room for forgiveness. Surprisingly, he was actually more emotionally open than Bryce was, and I fell hard for him when he laid himself bare and put himself out there. It was a little unusual, yet worked like a charm. Seeing Bryce twist him up was rather entertaining, because I didn’t ‘ow what to expect with them!
Now the romance…gah! Talk about fireworks! Physically and emotionally, these two generated serious heat and I adored their witty banter! To sharp minds battling one another to prove who’s right or wrong, then morphing to a whole other level?! Why yes, please! It made this book such a great read!
As to the suspenseful aspects, I still have questions that need answers, which looks like I may get in Riven Knight, but have no fear! The book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger and has a gorgeous bonus epilogue.
This book sucker punched me in the best possible way. Filled with angst, suspense, and undeniable chemistry, you’ll be lost to this unique story Perry spins. All hail the Gypsy King!
What a fabulous read from Devney Perry!
Whenever I pick up a novel from Devney, I know that I am going to be in store for a treat. Gypsy King was yet another unputdownable novel, that I absolutely devoured.
As soon as I started reading, I could definitely tell that this novel was going to be different from other novels that I have previously read from this author. Despite the fact that it was different, it was still incredible.
Bryce and Dash are two characters that you become so captivated by. They grab your attention immediately, and never let you waiver. They are almost polar opposites from one another, and yet, they fit so well together. When you combine their chemistry with the dangerous and passionate elements of this novel, you have one explosive outcome.
I highly recommend Gypsy King to everyone. If you haven’t picked up a novel from this absolutely incredible author, you are most certainly missing out.
5/5 Stars!
Well that was feckin amazeballs.
This is my first of Devney Perry’s books and it certainly won’t be the last.
Based around a disbanded MC gang, where secrets won’t stay that way for long, no matter how much you try to hide them.
Love Bryce she’s such a tough chick, takes no crap, holds no prisoners.
Dash – he thinks he’s all tough, until he meets his match, then everything changes, in more ways than one.
This was a great read from start to finish, I couldn’t put it down.
Twists and turns all the way. Murder, secrets and lust all thrown together with the promise to find the truth.
Once you start digging there’s no going back.
Can’t wait for the Riven Knight…… I need that book.
I don’t think there’s a Devney Perry book I don’t like. They are all fantastic! In this new series, the author is going in a new direction, same great writing, adding some suspense and a plot line that’s not going to be resolved in one book. We’re going to have to keeeeeppppp reading the series to get to the end of the mystery, and I’m all in for the ride.
Bryce Ryan wanted to be a TV journalist, bringing new and exciting news to the TV, but she was limited by the TV executives to be just a pretty face in the newscast. Frustrated and feeling like a failure, she moved to Clifton Forge, where her parents live and her father owns the Clifton Forge Tribune. She’s now half owner of the newspaper with her father, but there’s still a hole in her soul, the need to be the creator of a big, juicy story. She hopes to get her big chance by telling the story of the Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club. This club was big and successful and dangerous in its time, but it closed down two years ago, its members scattered out of town, except for a small group that lives in town and works at the Clifton Forge Garage.
Kingston Slater, nicknamed Dash, was the last president of the Tin Gypsies, after his father. Together with his father Draven, two previous club members Leo and Emmet, an ex-con Isaiah, and their manager Presley, who is like a little sister to Dash, they all work in the garage. The garage is producing good money although not as much as the Tin Gypsies at its peak. But they decided years ago to clean up their act, bury all incriminating evidence and start a new life on the right side of the law. When Bryce comes around sniffing for a story, Dash is instantly attracted at the same time he’s put on the alert. Lust for Dash is the last thing Bryce expected to feel, but she was also hit with hot chemistry for him.
Our eyes met and my heart boomed, stealing my breath. My mind went blank, unable to concentrate on anything except the way his dark jeans draped over his long legs and those thick, bulging thighs.
The attraction was strong but it wasn’t going to detract from Bryce’s determination to get a story. When the police comes to arrest Draven for the murder of a woman in the town’s motel, Bryce is there to witness the arrest and get a story for Sunday news.
Dash wants to clear his father’s innocence but finds that Bryce is always ahead of him, finding evidence and discovering truths. Eventually he calls a truce and asks for collaboration, promising to share all findings and no lies. Then we’re off for a bumpy ride of a journalistic investigation, and a burgeoning relationship with two alpha characters that try to up one another all along the ride.
Dash was determined never to fall in love, never to marry and never have kids. But he was doomed when he met Bryce. She was his match in temper and determination, a firecracker who stole into his heart and didn’t let go.
For her, I wanted to be better. Do better. Why? It was the question I’d wrestled with since the beginning. But there was something about her, this woman, that made me want to make her proud.
The love story was fantastic, the murder mystery intriguing, their actions riveting and the pace of the book was relentless. All characters were fascinating. And the best part? The love story has its HEA but the murder is not solved and will continue on to the next installment. Giddy much?
Gypsy King by Devney Perry is the first book in her brand new Tin Gypsy series. A book that sits in the same world as both the Jamison Valley series and the Lark Cove series but is able to completely standalone from those. This first book was amazing. The writing of Devney Perry is one that speaks to my soul. There is no moment in any of her books where I struggle with the flow, the writing style, or anything else – it’s just a smooth ride filled with emotional highs and lows and wonderfully crafted stories.
This first story of the members of the now closed Tin Gypsy motorcycle club and the new reporter in town determined to unearth their well kept secrets will take you places you didn’t expect to go. Focusing on Kingston Slater, better known as Dash and Bryce Ryan a former TV news anchor turned small town reporter, this story is everything. From the chemistry that immediately sizzles between these two, to the sheer stubborn will and creatively investigative methods of Bryce and the annoyingly serene (outwardly at least) Dash dealing with this reporter who may have the power to bring all the former Tin Gypsy’s to their knees. Their attraction in the face of a murder investigation that has them on opposing sides may be the one thing that can get them to join forces and find the truth. But is it enough to finally allow them to trust each other or are they just too different? Enjoy!
