Gypsy King is the opening act of a new series by Devney Perry. I fell in love with her after I finally read the Coppersmith Farmhouse, the first book of her Jamison Valley series. After I finished that story, I have been reading every single book she has published AND when she started publishing also under Willa Nash pen name, well, you can imagine what I did …
Anyhow, Gypsy King brings us to Clifton Forge, Montana. By the way, I have to say, I absolutely love that Devney’s stories take place in Montana, I know she is from there so it makes sense but as I have visited Montana couple of times, I can simply close my eyes and have a movie playing in front of my eyes! Gypsy King is the story of Bryce Ryan, the new owner of the small town’s newspaper and Kingston ‘Dash’ Slater, the former President of the Tin Gypsy motorcycle club, the club that disbanded and closed the doors after years of being one of the very influential MC in the region … being the great journalist that Bryce is, she is not buying it, she is convinced there is a story there, there is NO way that they have disbanded and simply run the garage … and …the reality is weirder than fiction and we are fall down a rabbit hole that we will stay in for four books, just to give you heads up!
I suggest you take a whole weekend and plan on binging on the whole series as once you start, you cannot put the MC back onto the shelf as you will want to know who and why and really … is that the truth?
Loved this book! Besides some of the same old-sane old that is in, like every romance novel I loved this book. The characters were engaging and didn’t get on my nerves and had great character development. After that cliffhanger of an ending, I am defiantly going to read the rest of the series!
Bryce Ryan moved to Clifton Forge, Montana to help her father run his newspaper. So far her reporting has been fairly softball issues and she is looking for a big story that will catapult her into a respected journalist. Bryce wants to know what is going on with Tin Gypsy MC who abruptly closed down with no word as to why and have the semblance of just being a garage which works on car restorations. Bryce is not buying it and when a murder happens in town it gives her even more ammunition to delve into the history of the Gypsy Kings. What she did not plan on is Kingston “Dash” Slater.
Dash is immediately attracted to Bryce, she is feisty and full of sass. However once he realizes she is a reporter he wants her gone, but Bryce keeps reappearing and is going to do her best to uncover the secrets they are hiding. Dash decides to act on his attraction and he keeps going back but can he trust Bryce and still figure out who is out to get the former members of the Tin Gypsy MC?
This was filled with surprises, you think the story is going one way and then there is a shift that has the story going another way. I liked Dash a lot, pure alpha male and he radiates through the pages. I was not a fan of Bryce, she grew on me but I felt she was too focused on the big story nd while you get why she was kind of cold hearted about how it effected others. I definitely would check out more in this series.
Five star read!
Gypsy King was the first book I read by Devney Perry and the first book in the Gypsy King series. It is a standalone, enemies to lovers with an HEA, but likely the storyline will continue into the next book and continue through the series.
The storyline was both interesting and suspenseful and the characters were flawed, but likable. The story meandered a couple times, but certainly held my interest and I’ll definitely be reading the next story in the series.
Damn… Devney Perry did it again. I’m so thankful I stumbled upon her books approximately a year ago — since then she’s become an instant-buy author for me. This woman always makes me fall in love with her characters, whether it’s a hot billionaire we’re talking about or a sexy member of a motorcycle club. Gypsy King has definitely become one of my all time favorite books — I know, I know. I’m getting repetitive. Blame the author, not me! Once she stops writing such amazing books, I’ll stop gushing about them. *if you ever end up reading this Devney, please never stop*
Gypsy King is a steamy, enemies to lovers, MC romance book with a mystery that will keep you on your toes.
Bryce Ryan is a journalist determined to bring light into the brutal murder of a middle-aged woman and maybe end up uncovering the secrets surrounding the disbandment of one of the most prominent MC gangs, the Tin Gypsies, along the way. The number one suspect is Drave Slater who once was the leader of the Tin Gypsies, and Dash Slater’s father.
Dash Slater is certain that his father had nothing to do with Amina Daylee’s murder, but convincing the sexy new reporter might be a slightly more difficult task than he’d expected. She won’t take his word for it, and understandably so —Why should she? She doesn’t know anything about this man other than that he’s incredibly hot and hard to resist. So if approaching Bryce and helping her get to the bottom of this mystery is the only way to prove his father’s innocence, then so be it. Whether she wants his help or not, Dash doesn’t seem to care. The more time Bryce spends with Dash, the more convinced she becomes that his father is not the real murderer. The mystery that remains to be found is… who killed that woman? Somewhere along the way, their relationship turns from strictly professional to intimate. Their feelings for each other grow stronger by the day, until neither of them can deny how they feel. For Bryce, accepting the depth of her feelings is a relatively easy task whereas Dash was a hurder nut to crack.
I had a feeling something bad would happen later on in the book that would make Dash realize that he truly loved Bryce, and when it finally happened it was so much better than I could have imagined! I practically live for these moments when the hero screws up and disaster happens before he has the chance to properly apologize and make things right.
Dash made my heart melt with how awesome he was throughout the book, even when he insisted that the thing between him and Bryce was casual and that he’s not husband/father material. There’s just something about Dash Slater that makes me want to kidnap him and keep him for myself.
A fast paced family drama with some suspense, sizzling romance and unexpected twists and turns. Loved ready Bryce and Dash’s story.
What an exciting read! There are heart-stopping moments, intrigue and plenty of romance moments. Imagine a motorcycle group being not just naughty but nice. These tattoo hardened men prove to have big hearts and kindness but don’t tell them as they hold that secret. Since disbanding the Tin Gypsy motorcycle club, they have been honest (mostly) citizens. Kingston “Dash” Slater doesn’t want marriage, family or commitment but then he meets Bryce and all that seemed to change. I loved this book and will start the next story in the series immediately. I have to confess, I’ve had these books but they sort of got lost on my Kindle and now that I have them right in front of me, I can’t resist. Excellent writing.
This book checks all the boxes.
Intrigue, mystery, suspense, action, romance, funny scenes, addicting banter between the main characters, crazy chemistry. You name it, this book has it in spades.
I was hooked from the first chapter, dying to know more, talking out loud to myself trying to make sense of the things that were happening, creating theories and more theories in my head and enthralled every time Dash and Bryce were together.
I wanted more from Dash/King since The Clover Chapel (Jamison Valley #2), and it was so worth the wait.
Dash and Bryce were explosive together. Their antagonism was electric, the way they pushed each other’s buttons and was always on edge around each other – fighting against their own attraction, but never backing down – was exilarating.
They posed as different people facing the other as if from opposite sides, but they were more alike than they antecipated. They both wanted the truth, no matter the cost, and they were both willing to get it.
They were driven, sometimes even reckless, but brave despite their fears (or even because of them).
And what started as some kind of enemy’s nagging, soon enough became a provocative banter, a foreplay of sorts. Loyalties shifted place (specially Bryce’s), bonds were formed, an alliance took place and their sexual tension was more and more undebiable. As were their feelings.
I loved Bryce and Dash interactions, how they fit so perfectly together, the way they understood and brought the best out of each other, even disguised as teasing.
They were the perfect match and their chemistry was insane.
Loved. It.
Great book. Loved the characters. I didn’t want it to end.
I didn’t know about the reporter aspect to Gypsy King until after I started reading it and that didn’t make me very enthused to continue at first, but I’ve been meaning to read Ms. Perry for awhile and it was a book club pick, so I just told myself to get over it and get it read. I was also pretty sure that I would like it once I stopped being finicky and gave it a real chance and I was not wrong! I really loved and enjoyed Gypsy King!
It was exciting, the dynamic between Dash and Bryce was fun, hot, and very entertaining. Gypsy King kept me guessing and running around and around speculating on everything. It kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting for all the reveals and if I have any gripes, it’s just that all was not revealed. I’ll definitely be picking up the series again though, not just for answers, but also just because I really loved the world and it’s characters and I’m looking forward to visiting it again! Gypsy King was flipping awesome and I absolutely loved it!

Loved it – twists and turns very happy ending@
The Tin Gypsy Series has been on my TBR for what seems like forever. Devney Perry had a sale on Gypsy King one day and I instantly sent it to my kindle because of this cover. I’m a huge “judge a book by its cover” person and the covers in this series are TO DIE FOR. They’re probably some of my favorite covers of all time.
I’ve only read the first two so far because, well, bookstagram life. Lol. But they’re so so good! I’m a huge sucker for any MC series. I think that has a lot to do with my obsession with Sons of Anarchy. That being said, I hold them to very high standards. Well y’all, Devney Perry did not disappointment. I was obsessed the entire time that I was reading this and I can’t wait to finish the 3rd book.
This series starts out with Bryce, a journalist, who is determined to find out some dirt on the former local motorcycle gang, the Tin Gypsies, and Dash, the former President of said motorcycle gang. Needless to say, they aren’t too fond of each other. It only escalates when there is a murder in their small town and the prime suspect is one of the former Tin Gypsies.
Book two, Riven Knight, has just as beautiful of a cover, as well as an amazing story line. It follows Genevieve and Isaiah on their journey. I won’t give too much away, but I will say it is absolutely wonderful and such a plot twist to the series!
This book isn’t just your average romance by any means. It has so much suspense it’s crazy. It had my hooked throughout the entire first and second book. Thanks Devney Perry for writing such a wonderful series! I can’t wait to read the third one!
I highly highly recommend this series! I really think you’ll enjoy it!

Gypsy King by Devney Perry is the beginning of her new Tin Gypsy series
As always, with any of this author’s books, I preordered.
What can I say, I know what I like. And this book, like the rest she writes, was amazing.
Dash and Bryce’s story will pull you into Clifton Forge Montana for a suspenseful ride that will keep you on the edge. Read it. Highly recommend!!
4.5 stars!
This is book 1 of the Tin Gypsy Series that I read in the Spring Romance Box Set. This has it all, murder, secrets, lies, betrayal, and lust. Bryce, a journalist, has returned to her roots of a small town and decides to investigate the motorcycle gang who claims to have gone legit. A great read with good character development and a wonderful plot with lots of surprises.
