Sizzling hot chemistry in an enemies to lovers story that keeps you turning the pages and wanting more!
I absolutely adore Perry’s fabulously crafted stories and Gypsy King is the perfect start to a brand new series. Sexy, action packed and full of suspense, Perry takes one hell of an amazing ride. I’m so excited to see where the next book in the series takes us!
”All the foolish days and nights I’d spent wondering if I’d end up an old maid had been for nothing. The timing simply hadn’t come together. I’d been waiting for my Gypsy King.”
Can I honestly sit here and say to myself, “Damn. Another Devney Perry Masterpiece,” without feeling repetitive? I could. But I’m not going to. Because I don’t have to. Everything about Gypsy King speaks to that without anyone having to voice it.
I just found it funny that both characters unbeknownst to each other called one another a game changer and that’s the phrase that stuck with me throughout the book; a game changer in regards to the characters, the suspense, the impeccable story telling. That’s exactly what Gypsy King is. It’s the game changer in the world of small town romantic suspense, MC, and its even a game changer in regards to Devney’s usual flare.
This book. All books have to start somewhere and while I was immediately intrigued from page one with Bryce’s sharp, quick, and independent woman spirit, this book didn’t start as fast paced as I thought it would. But then we met Dash. With his determination towards everything in his life and eagerness to protect his own, put a woman like Bryce in his path and the pages in this book lit a spark up until the very last when it all just went up in ashes from how fast you devour it.
The suspense is another factor. It had me on the edge of my seat well past the epilogue. I’ve never wanted to solve a mystery as bad as I did this one. Normally I would be along for the ride but I couldn’t help but feel personally involved with how well the suspense was written into this book.
Just know, you can’t read the phrase Game Changer and not automatically think of Gypsy King right along with it. As well as Devney Perry for that matter.
Gypsy King by Devney Perry was a sexy, suspenseful, and thrilling ride! With this book Devney takes her readers on a journey not previously taken with her other works. And Holy Moley! It was edgy and dangerous, passionate and at times humorous. I just couldn’t get enough!
Bryce Ryan has nothing to lose at this point. After her dream job comes to a standstill, she’s ready for the next phase. She uproots her life in Seattle and moves back to Montana. As the new reporter for the Clifton Forge Tribune, Bryce is ready to put her passion to practice. She’s out for a story, one that will disclose all the details on the disbanded Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club. She’s hungry for the truth and she will stop at nothing until she discovers it.
Kingston ‘Dash’ Slater has put the club life behind him and is content being a law abiding citizen. He spends his time fixing up classic cars and building custom bikes. That’s until he meets a beautiful long legged brunette. He’s immediately smitten with Bryce until he discovers she’s the new reporter in town. Yikes.
Can we just talk about how absolutely fun it was to read these two interact. Bryce was a firecracker and kept Dash on his toes. It was such a sexy, tic for tact, non relationship. The more they got into each other’s space the more the attraction intensified, becoming an explosive affair that was hard to deny #swoon.
Devney Perry has captivated me and blown my mind with this one. So much so that I’m getting anxious for book 2!! Anything this woman writes I need to consume. Gypsy King may be read as a standalone; however the story interconnects perfectly through the series. Be prepared to be cast under Dash’s spell. This series promises to be one hell of a ride!
ALL THE STARS
With clever writing, Devney Perry contrives a heartening tale that is witty, sexy, and more deeply woven in suspense than ever before!
After realizing her life had not turned out the way she dreamed, Bryce Ryan gives up on the big city and moves from Seattle back to Montana. As the new reporter in town at the Clifton Forge Tribune, Bryce is out for a story that will not only disclose why the Tin Gypsy Motorcycle Club disbanded but expose the former members as the criminals they still are because she is not fooled by their law abiding citizens act. In a small-town where the big news is non-existent, Bryce will not wait for the story to come to her which brings her up close and personal with the alluring Dash Slater.
Kingston Dash Slater has put his violent ways behind him since the Tin Gypsies closed their doors. He’s content spending his days restoring classic cars and building custom motorcycles while unwinding at The Betsy in the evenings. That is until Bryce Ryan walks into his garage. Now his days consist of proving to Bryce the Gypsies are clean and innocent while his nights, well, he’ll find a way to be near this firecracker of a woman.
The one Bryce once sought to condemn is the one she’s fallen into this back and forth, tic for tact, type of non-relationship with. There is no way Bryce likes the Gypsy King… except truce after truce, this battle of wits between her and Dash lead to more than just an investigative partnership.
Devney Perry is well versed in writing vividly. So much so that her words do more than just stay on the page–they jump out at you, captivating your mind, and imprinting your heart. Though this novel is a standalone, the plot in itself is an interconnected one that will intertwine itself throughout the series. Full of quips and allurement, Gypsy King is a conundrum of intrigue from start to finish! Final thoughts? You are going to go crazy for the Tin Gypsy series!
“Given the sparks that crackled when we were in the same room, we’d be incredible together. The chemistry, mixed with our mutual dislike of one another, would ignite like fireworks. We’d probably set the sheets on fire.”
Ever since stumbling onto her Jamison Valley series I’ve been a Devney Perry fan. I didn’t think it could get better, but then I heard she was writing the Tin Gypsy series and I’ve been beside myself excited to get my hands on Gypsy King. When I like an author, I’ll follow them wherever they lead. But, when they lead me right into a favorite genre/trope it’s time to celebrate. And guess what? It’s even better than I’d hoped!
I met Dash while reading The Clover Chapel. It features his brother, Nick. That was a while back, but he made an impression and I couldn’t wait to get to know him better. And, did I happen to mention that I’m addicted to MC Romance? I know. The Tin Gypsy MC is out of business, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still some seriously sexy badass bikers working at the club’s garage.
And speaking of badass, wait until you meet Bryce. She’s determined to uncover their secrets and she’s not intimidated in the least by their reputation. When they push, she pushes back…harder. Of course, that’s exactly what get’s Dash’s attention. Well, besides the fact that she’s sexy and sassy. He can’t take his eyes off of her, and he doesn’t want to either.
I couldn’t tell which was more entertaining, them butting heads or bumping uglies. Don’t make me choose, I don’t want to give up either option. I was tempted to get myself a special notebook like Bryce has to take notes, they definitely could teach a class. Excuse me while I stick my head in the freezer to cool off.
It might not be called ‘club business’ like it used to be, but they still have enemies and danger hasn’t lost their address. When trouble comes calling they can’t seem to get rid of the new investigative journalist that seems to always be all up in their business. So, you know what they say about keeping your enemies close, right? I guarantee they made that work for them, there was positively no space between them on more than one occasion.
The next book in the series is called Riven Knight. I’ve got goosebumps I’m so anxious to get my hands on it. The line forms here…
Way to much heavy sex
Did not even get past page 15
I love this new twist Devney took on her small town romances! Wonderful writing and storytelling!
Devney Perry kicks off a brand new series that sets MC romance on its head! This enemies-to-lovers romantic suspense is classic Devney: Small town Montana, strong heroine, addictive story, but with a fresh take on a much-loved trope. You’ll ADORE it!
Holy moley!! I had no doubts that this book was going to be good but it was so much better than just good…….it was phenomenal!! It was an I’m sorry that I burned dinner because I couldn’t put my book down story. Devney Perry really knows how to write a story so that you feel like you are actually part of the excitment, I was right there in Clifton Forge. This is by far my favorite book by this author.

One kiss, and she’s fighting to save more than just her story. She’s fighting to save her heart from the Gypsy King.
This book is absolutely perfect. This is a small town enemies to lovers story told in the most perfect way. Bryce and Dash have amazing chemistry that you can feel from their first interaction. There is suspense, witty banter, and some sexy times. Dash is the ex president of an MC Club that went legit, and Bryce is a reporter searching for a big story. They clash over and over again along the way, but the spark between them becomes explosive. I will be recommending this book to all of my book loving friends!!
Clear your schedule for the day…switch your ringer off….keep plenty of food and drinks at hand before you proceed cause once you start it, the world won’t exist anymore. You’ll become a resident of Clifton Forge, Montana, fall under the spell of charismatic Gruff Alpha biker- Kingston “Dash” Slater of the Tin Gypsies Motorcycle Club and just like Bryce Ryan the journalist, you’d want extra scoops on him…with cherry on top!!
They used to rule the roost for decades before they suddenly closed up cold turkey…
“We’d rid the world of evil men, even though we’d been devils in our own right.”
That has all the red flags going up and senses alert like a blaring alarm for Bryce, who is sifting around for a good story for her bi-weekly newspaper – Clifton Forge Tribune
She’s a disillusioned and disheartened transplant from a large news network in Seattle to small town in Montana because she wants to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to the art of newsmaking and reporting. Her talent speaks for itself and her beauty and sharp intelligence just wins Dash over
“She was classy and gorgeous no matter what she wore. It came from the way she carried herself, with tenacity and strength. Not many people, let alone women, questioned me. But this woman was a fighter. She wouldn’t be pushed around, and she wouldn’t take things at face value.”
A sleepy town which rarely sees action, has a meteor like accidental crime crashland with a bang and their tranquility is up for a major upheaval.
There the devilishly dangerous Dash and there’s sexy as sin Bryce and explosions happen like fireworks. Their banter is heavily loaded with sexual innuendos and flirty banter charging their magnetic field of attraction.
“And what’s your real name?” He smiled, dropping my hand.
“That’s a secret I only tell a woman after she’s let me buy her a beer.”
“Pity. I only drink beer with a man after I know his real name.”
It’s a constantly turning story. you won’t be seeing what lies beyond the curve you’re at, racing down at breakneck speed, events whip past like sign boards on a highway. Tin Gypsies are like a steel wire running through the town…pulled tight. The tension is so strong, it could snap the wire at any moment and when that happens, it threatens to dig up old skeletons, unite old enemies and hunt down old so-called friends!!
There’s just the right amount of thrill and thunder, sexy romps and fistfights to keep you engaged non-stop.
Gods are knocked off the pedestals and unexpected heroes take their place.
An MC story with lots of love, Loyalty and Heartbreak.
5 stars for Inferno & Ice
I love Devney Perry’s writing style, and I am, without question, a fan. Her stories are richly developed, and her descriptions and all the little details she includes really brings the picture to life for the reader. But it’s the way that she really peels the layers back on her characters, giving the reader the chance to truly get to know them that I love best. There is always a suspenseful edge to Perry’s storytelling, and that was clearly evident in this story.
An enemies-to-lovers romance, Gypsy King brings Seattle television news anchor, Bryce Ryan, home to small town Montana to work alongside her father in their family’s newspaper. Looking to sink her teeth into a juicy story, she starts down an investigative path into the now-disbanded motorcycle club, the Tin Gypsies, and their president’s involvement in a murder. She was doggedly determined to get the truth, but what she wasn’t expecting was the visceral attraction she felt to Kingston “Dash” Slater, the son of the founder and former president of the Tin Gypsies.
Dash and his club brothers had their reasons for shutting down the Tin Gypsies, and they had more than their fair share of secrets—all of which they wanted to remain buried. But with Bryce sniffing around, bound and determined to expose the truth and get to the bottom of the murder his father has been accused of, Dash has his hands full. She challenges him at every step in a way he is just not accustomed to from a woman, and the unanticipated chemistry between them was like a jolt of unexpected electricity—startling, slightly uncomfortable, inconvenient and unavoidable. A fragile trust forms, a tentative truce is reached, and they decide to work together to uncover the truth of what happened to this woman and why his father was framed for murder. Perry wove storyline full of twists, turns and shocking surprises.
Gypsy King was an outstanding start to an exciting, intriguing, sexy new series from Devney Perry. An edge-of-my-seat suspense plot coupled with a heart-racing romance, and I couldn’t flip the pages of this addictive and absorbing story fast enough. A top favorite read of 2019, I finished this book already longing for the next one. Gypsy King by Devney Perry gets five smooches from me!

Bryce Ryan is new to Clifton Forge, Montana and is looking for a big story as she settles in to her new role as part owner of the town’s newspaper. She has set her sights on exposing the truth behind the Tin Gypsys, the local, now-defunct motorcycle club. She is sure there is something nefarious behind their dissolution and when a woman is murdered and all signs point to a former president of the club, she is sure she is on the right track.
Kingston “Dash” Slater no longer leads the MC that would have been his, but his ties to Clifton Forge had him sticking close when may other former club members moved away. His focus on running a garage keeps him busy enough, but when his father is accused of murder, he finds himself tangled with the town reporter who is det on proving his father’s guilt. Working on opposing sides should have kept them separate, but a single kiss changes everything between these two rivals for information.
I loved watching these two battle it out with their wit and intelligence, especially as the sparks started flying and lines began blurring. Dash and Bryce are great counterpoints to each other, challenging and balancing at every turn. She is strong and fierce on her own, and I loved watching her shift her personal bias as she settled into her new role away from the pace of the big city. Dash has already settled in to life on the right side of the law, and the thought of having his past come back to haunt them is terrifying.
This was as much a murder mystery as it was a romance. The clues all pointed to the obvious suspect and I loved how Dash and Bryce went from working against each other to working with each other. As suspicions shift, the past seems like it might be catching up with the club, even after they had cleaned up their business. The search for the truth forces Bryce and Dash to work together to sort through the truth and the smoke. There were some pieces of their search that I was able to easily predict, but others that surprised me. I was also surprised to see part of the story left hanging for conclusion later, presumably in the next book.
I enjoyed getting to know Clifton Forge and this new group of characters. The teaser for Riven Knight has me looking forward to finding out exactly what happened to send those 2 characters to the events that are teased.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Gypsy King (Tin Gypsy, Book 1) by Devney Perry
Devney has delivered us another 5 star read, it’s unlike anything she’s ever written and better than I ever could have hoped for. We’re taken to another small town this time in Montana, Bryce has recently moved back home from Seattle to work with her parents at their local paper. Bryce is ready for that big story that can really put her on the map and she thinks she may have found it with a gruesome murder in their small town.
Dash used to be president of the local Motorcycle Club the Tin Gypsies, his father Draven president for many years before. Dash and Draven decided to hand in their cuts for a simpler life, one they weren’t constantly looking over their shoulders and they were enjoying their simpler life running their garage until suddenly Draven finds himself as a prime suspect of a murder investigation.
Bryce is determined to get all the facts and be the first one to break the story. Dash knows his father didn’t commit this murder and is ready to team up with Bryce to ensure the true story comes out. The chemistry is sizzling between these two from the very start, both of them knowing this can’t go anywhere long term but both of them seem content with letting their fling run it’s course.
Bryce and Dash are explosive, their banter from the very start is absolutely hilarious and the secrets are buried and these two together will do their best to uncover all of them no matter how dangerous it seems. What happens though when real feelings may get involved?
This new series is fantastic! It’s one of my 2019 best reads! You’ll laugh, cry and by the end you’ll have a huge smile on your face. Devney Perry always delivers with amazing reads and Gypsy King is no exception, I had this feeling deep down when I saw this blurb that it was going to be something special and it’s better than I ever could have imagined!

This book was one hell of a read! I loved it from the minute I opened the book the the second I closed it. Devney Perry took this romance to a whole new level. I loved the relationship between Bryce and Dash, and how you can tell by just reading their interactions that their meant for one another. Bryce is stubborn, smart, and an overall amazing, while Dash is hot and a great and I just love their dynamic. Whenever Bryce and Dash are in a scene together you can really freak how real the conversations feel. Devney is real good at knowing how to keep your interest in both the plot and the characters, and for that she is one of my favorite writer!
Sizzle, sizzle, Boom!
The sparks between the two main characters in Devney Perry’s newest book is off the charts. I was invested in their story from the first chapter.
Bryce is a big city hot shot reporter looking for a career story in the small town she now calls home.
Dash is the former president of the now defunct Tin Gypsy motorcycle club and owner of a thriving automobile repair shop.
Bryce is certain there’s something that needs to be told about Dash and his former club. Her hunch seems correct when a murder occurs and the prime suspect is Dash’s father and the former Prez…
I felt like this book had everything I love- hot alpha heroes, smart strong women and a story that keeps me engaged from word one until the final page.
Highly recommended to anyone interested in an enemies to lovers story.
