When a friend drags Agatha “Aggie” Bowles to a romance convention, all she wants to do is find some new authors and a quiet spot to read. Instead of relaxing with a book, she ends up kidnapped by a steampunk cyborg.Which is as exciting as it sounds.Except for the fact he’s more interested in the cog hanging around her neck than Aggie herself. He’ll do anything to get his hands on it. Problem is … it. Problem is other people want it, too.
Can this cyborg relinquish a priceless treasure for love?

All it takes is one
This book is a perfect mix of steampunk and alien worlds. What starts as a retrieval turns into a HEA that will make you smile. It may take a long journey bypassing bad guys and surviving Aggi’s snark, but there is enough laughter and happiness to keep you intrigued until the end. I can’t wait to read the next book.
A bit different from the books I’ve read but enjoyable all the same. Y mind us running wild imagining what their world looked like.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A Geek Girl’s Dream Romance!
I was blown away by this book! The clever writing, strong characters, great story line, humor and little bits of geeky trivia thrown into the mix, oh and let’s not forget the romance… This book was a wild ride and I loved how she started it out at the convention, so fabulous! It is just the start of our introduction to the cyborgs and their world. If you pick up this book, you will not regret it!
Different-wasn’t what I expected
Not as good as the other books by this author.
Strange new science fiction. Not my cup of tea but imaginive and promising for
readers searching for something new
A delightful steam-punk story line. Riveting to the end.
While the story of Aggie and Jwls is sweet and enjoyable, what really caught my attention was the book convention where they met. I had not realized that certain authors had such interesting day jobs – could Mina Carter and you elucidate on your affiliation with otherworldly agencies? Please?!???
Just couldn’t get into the story
A little confusing at the beginning and I almost stopped reading. The second half was OK. Not good enough to buy the next book.
Good but not spellbinding.
This was the first Steampunk I’ve read and loved it
enjoyable book and easy to read
I loved the concept but the narrator for the audible was not the best.
My rating is closer to 3 1/2 stars. Jwlls’ (Jules) personality reminded me of Rafe’s. This is a quick, good read but not one of my favorites. There doesn’t seem to be as much humor. I will continue the series to see where it takes us.
An exciting and fast paced read! Shy Aggie is dragged to a romance convention where she gets abducted by a steampunk cyborg. At first she thinks it’s a joke, but then when Viola Grace and Susan Hayes start attacking her abductor, and Viola starts shooting, her embarrassment at being the center of attention turns to terror.
Jwls needs to collect the cog that currently adorns the snarky human’s neck. When she doesn’t give it up willingly, and it ends up attaching itself to her, he has no choice but to kidnap the entire package. Mina Carter, always the helpful one, and helps him get her out.
An adventure-filled trip through space, where tensions and desire threaten to derail Jwls plan to retrieve the cog and meet up with his crew. Close calls and a crash bring them closer together, and when push comes to shove, his priority is Aggie.
Being very familiar with the romance convention, Eve, Viola, Susan, Mina, Boo, and Gabby, I loved the reliving of my times there! It actually was quite accurate – but I must have missed Susan’s rainbow hair flying around, if a steampunk cyborg showed up at one!
An interesting start to the series, and I look forward to seeing how the relationships between the rest of the crew develop as they search the universes for the missing cogs.
This was a lot of fun, with the perfect amount of snark! A great blending of earth and earthlings, and those from other galaxies, who are, but aren’t, just like us. Steampunk, but not really. Sci-fi, but not really. Alien and alien-keep away authours, oh yes! A little bit of everything, and some sexy tension build-up, before getting down to business
