Maggie Jennings didn’t think she’d ever see Dylan McCormick again. When she was eighteen, he took everything she had to give—her heart, her love, and her virginity—and then broke her heart when he left for college. Watching him on the field is the most exquisite torture—he’s a … muscled, talented athlete who looks amazing in a pair of baseball pants. Seeing him again makes her want all kinds of things she shouldn’t.
Dylan McCormick has it all. A pro baseball career, millions of dollars, and a life most only dream of. But everyone has regrets, including Dylan—and his is Maggie. One look at her, and he knows that he’ll do anything to get her back. He wants her. He needs her. He’s determined to atone for the past while showing her the man he’s become because he knows there’s no one else for him. But the past has a way of refusing to stay buried, and when secrets surface, their sizzling chemistry may not be enough to keep them together…

This is the second book that I have read from this author and I loved it. A second chance romance about Dylan and Maggie who were high school sweethearts. Before he went off to college, he broke up with her and she vowed to never see him again. 10 years later they are back in each other’s lives. They decided to have a benefits relationship because she needed to get over him. Could that really work or will it develop into more? There will be a couple of issues that they will have to work out before they are able to possibly move on with anything. This was a great story and I can’t wait to read Hunter’s story.

Dallas Longhorns for the win!!!
Stealing Home is a great first book in the new Dallas Longhorns series by Tara Wyatt. This story is about Dylan and Maggie. He is a pro baseball player with the dream life, or what every things should be his dream. Maggie is the media directory for the Dallas Longhorns, the team that Dylan plays for. These two have a history as they came from the same town and were a couple in high school. But Dylan took a full scholarship for baseball and left Maggie to try and work to go to community college. You see she was from the wrong side of town while his family had money and status. Dylan broke Maggie’s heart when he left and basically forgot about her.
But when they end up at the Longhorns together ten years later things are different. Maggie has worked hard to get where she is and achieve the career she has. Then Dylan is traded to the team and now Maggie has to work with him. But she is determined that nothing will change as she is way over him…………until she is way under him again!!!
Dylan now has a second chance to make things right with Maggie. But she has a “no strings” casual sex proposal for him which he jumps at, and on her. But can things really be no strings between Dylan and Maggie with their history and the feelings that come back up when they are together?
I enjoyed this first story in the new series and am looking forward to reading more about the men and women of the Dallas Longhorns.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Stealing Home was the first book in the Dallas Longhorns series by Tara Wyatt.
Dylan McCormick was a professional baseball player who was struggling after an injury. He was traded to Dallas, a short few miles from where he grew up.
Maggie Jennings was the PR Director for the Longhorns. Her high school sweetheart left her in the dust ten years ago, but she was determined to leave that in the past and continue to focus on her career.
Dylan and Maggie had history. Wyatt took us back ten years to the moment of separation then fast forwarded to the present. I loved both characters as well as the secondary characters for the series. I also enjoyed the premise of the storyline. I’m a sucker for second chances.
In the end, it was steamy and sweet all at the same time. I didn’t necessarily buy the “big conflict” near the end and felt more needed to be resolved with the offending party – no spoilers so no elaboration, but I wanted more. Otherwise, it was sexy, fun and entertaining. Hunter’s up next in Wild Card and I can’t wait.
Though IRL I’m not the biggest baseball fan (read: IMO it’s just below watching paint dry as a fun way to pass the time–I mean, why can’t they just play 2 or 3 innings? I could get behind that) I am so here for Tara Wyatt’s new baseball-themed romance series, Dallas Longhorns! Dylan and Maggie’s story give us a solid start, and the next book, Wild Card (Hunter’s book!) looks just as promising.
Dylan and Maggie’s story is a second chance romance. On the surface it sounds like a story you’ve heard before–high school sweethearts who break up when one of them (okay, it’s usually the guy) leaves town in search of bigger and better things find each other years later and…things happen. Often the reason for the breakup is either 1) long distance is hard! It will never work or 2) it’s in [one or both of the characters’] best interest(s) to break up now, so they can move on to bigger and better things. And for years–ten of them, to be exact–Maggie’s believed that though she was told that the reason she was unceremoniously dumped was the first one, it really had more to do with Dylan’s dad’s deciding that she wasn’t good enough for his son and encouraging their split.
And she was right…but she had no idea the extent of his duplicity. And Dylan hopes that she’ll never find out the details. He’s sure as heck not going to tell her–it took him almost half of the book to even get her to agree to be friends with him again, let alone go on an actual date. (He works long and hard on convincing her to give him a chance again–it’s all kinds of sweet. Oh, and steamy AF ;)) So of course he’s not going to mess that up.
Except we all know that by not fessing up, he’s going to mess that up, right?
What can Dylan possibly do to gain her trust again? Does Maggie even want him to try? You’re going to have to read Stealing Home to find out. But trust me when I tell you the journey to their HEA offers both emotion and sexytimes–and just enough baseball to keep me busy imagining the hero and his teammates in those nicely fitted uniform pants. 😉
Now, bring on Hunter’s book–I’m ready!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I really enjoyed reading Stealing Home. It is the first book in the Dallas Longhorns series. It is a good second chance romance. This book is wonderful written and easy to read. It has a good storyline. The characters Dylan and Maggie are delightful and have good chemistry. I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I read and reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.
Maggie and Dylan were in love for a couple of months but he was going away to college but that did not matter to them because they were going to have a long distance affair, atleast that was what Maggie thought. Dylan broke Maggie’s heart thinking that it was the best thing for her, not telling her the real reason that he not only broke her heart but his as well. Ten years later Dylan is having problems swinging and he gets traded to the Longhorns the worst team in the league and his home town where he never wanted to return to. Turns out that Maggie the girl he never stopped thinking about or loving also works for them and it was a shock to him but now he is determined to win her back. Maggie was shocked and upset that Dylan was back in her life, she claims she hates him and wants nothing to do with him but when she sees him again she wants him and convinces him to a no strings affair..But will it stay that way? What will she do when she finds out what Dylan did? Well grab a copy and find out…Enjoy!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
Dylan and Maggie dated all through high school she thought that they’d end up together when he started playing ball. Dylan had other plans that didn’t include her. When things ended Maggie didn’t know what she would do next but she moved on. Now years later Dylan is a millionaire ball player and has recently been traded to the Dallas Longhorns back to his home town. Maggie works as the media director for the same team so its soon that their paths will cross again. Maggie sees him at a work function and goes to talk so the awkwardness would be over. However Dylan isn’t about to let his second chance with her get away from him this time. Will his secrets end up costing him Maggie?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Stealing Home” by Tara Wyatt is not your run of the mill sports romance. This story was so much more, it’s a addicting read which is infused with chemistry, emotion, humour, heat, baseball and romance. A superbly crafted storyline, with incredible characters to match. Tara Wyatt has hit this one out of the park and had me glued to the pages. Happy reading!!
I so enjoyed this baseball romance. This is a nicely developed story with strong likable characters. Dylan and Maggie were high school sweethearts until he jilted her and left. Leaving her heartbroken. Ten years later he is back and traded to the team she works for. Can these to get a second chance at the love the once shared? It’s a fast paced story that begins with love, heartbreak, benefits to so much more. Great chemistry between the characters as well as good twists and turns in the plot.
Has a good storyline but seemed like it was rushed towards the end. Can’t wait for Hunter’s book!
For being a football kinda girl, I was almost surprised I was rooting for Dylan as passionately as I would for Tom Brady, lol. This was a wonderful book to start a series, and I’m anxiously awaiting the next one – come on November!! Like a hard ball to the gut, this one tore out my heart, stomped on it, then shoved it back in. I admit I was an emotional ghoul when reading parts of this story, but that only seemed to make it all the better. Thank you, Tara Wyatt, for such a good read. Happy Halloween!!
The first book in her brand new Dallas Longhorns contemporary baseball romance series, a well written story about a second chance. Dylan McCormick and Longhorns media director Maggie Jennings meet after ten years apart. I enjoyed reading their story.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
New Adult, reunion romance with baseball-star hero
In a small town near Dallas ten years ago, the summer after graduating from high school, when Maggie and Dylan were 18, they dated for four months and fell madly in love. Until, with no warning, and offering what Maggie considered a ridiculous excuse, Dylan dumped her and crushed her heart.
In the years since, Maggie has lost her mother to cancer and completed a university degree financed by an academic scholarship. Dylan also completed a university degree, and though his father is quite wealthy, he paid for it on his own with a full-ride baseball scholarship. He has been playing major league baseball for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, the previous year he injured his knee and, after a difficult period of physical rehabilitation, he has been in a slump with his batting ever since. As a result, and not entirely unexpectedly, he experiences the humiliation of being traded from a prestigious California team to the low-rated Longhorns team in Dallas.
Maggie and Dylan are both shocked to encounter each other after a decade apart, with no contact. Neither had expected to ever see the other again. However, Maggie has been working for several years as head of public relations for the Longhorns, and for the foreseeable future, their frequently running into each other at work is inevitable.
At first, Maggie wants nothing to do with Dylan. She greatly resents the fact that she is still emotionally and physically attracted to him, until she comes up with a plan she believes will get Dylan out of her system once and for all. She is convinced that she can finally achieve the closure she badly needs due to his desertion years ago by conducting a no-strings affair with him without, of course, confessing her motivation to Dylan. He makes it readily apparent that he is eager to become involved with Maggie again but, unfortunately for the success of her scheme, the more time she spends with Dylan, the more her former feelings of love begin to return.
This is a fun take on a classic set of romance tropes, the reunion romance and a protagonist deciding to have sex to get a potential or former lover out of their system, and thereby avoid or heal a broken heart.
Maggie and Dylan are attractive, sympathetic protagonists, and fans of second-chance romance will enjoy this well-written story. Readers who favor a feisty, independent heroine will find Maggie very much to their taste. And romance fans who seek out heroes who are professional athletes, and who are particularly fond of baseball, will be thrilled with the fact that Dylan is a baseball star.
The sex scenes in this warm-hearted romance are sensitively and sensuously written and are never gratuitous. They always contribute to the growth of the relationship.
All in all this is a fun sports romance.
I rate this book as follows:
Heroine: 4 stars
Hero: 4 stars
Subcharacters: 4 stars
Romance Plot: 4 stars
Writing: 4 stars
Overall: 4 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this read from beginning to the end the chemistry is off the charts between the well developed and engaging characters. The storyline had enough going for it that it kept my attention. Will the drama keep them apart?
