From the #1 New York Times bestselling author comes an unexpected love story of family, secrets, and the most intimate of deceptions. My estranged twin brother, Julian, was always the wonder boy—and was groomed to become CEO of our ruthless father’s corporation. My mother and me? Left behind. Now, years after tearing our family apart, my father dares to ask me for a favor? Pretend to be Julian … favor? Pretend to be Julian while he fights to survive a tragic accident. It can save the company. Nobody will be the wiser. It’ll be our secret.
I can play Dad’s favorite. I’ll do it for Julian. And for my mother, who’ll want for nothing.
But this double life comes with a beauty of a hitch: my very real feelings for Julian’s fiancée, Isobel. Not only am I betraying Julian, I’m deceiving a woman I love. She doesn’t suspect a thing. As lies compound, lines are crossed and loyalties tested, all I can ask myself is…What have I done?
Because sooner or later something’s got to give. There’s no way I’m giving up Isobel. But once the truth is exposed, it might not be my choice at all.

One of the best books I’ve read in awhile. Could not put it down!
I’m going to start by stating that I’m still coming to terms with this read. It engulfed my reader soul, and I’m working on getting it back from Rachel. My entire list of reads would appreciate it greatly!
Where to even start! It gave me “While You Were Sleeping” vibes, if the majority of the plot was rearranged to include an tyrant of a father, secret twin, and switcheroo of identities. Hopefully you catch my drift, nonetheless.
Bridge. Nothing else needs to be said about this leading man, but I will say it anyways. Literally every woman’s dream man is Bridge, and I say that from the front of that long line of ladies. Selfless, ornery sense of humor and sexy as hell. He takes on the world for his mother, his brother and his brother’s fiancée, to whom he is starting to fall for all while playing along with the ultimate charade. I just wanted to get lost in him forever. *SWOOON*
Isobel, Izzy, Iz. Molded into the perfect soon-to-be trophy wife, but along the way she’s lost who she is as an individual. She is such a strong woman, determined to stand by her word even if it breaks her. As she let’s Bridge in little by little, her heart is put back together better than before, until her world is turned upside down. I loved her as a character cause she was so steadfast, a person of her word, and someone who wasn’t willing to let past hurts stop her from living her life.
Rachel really puts your heart through the ringer, giving it back a little battered, but better having gone through it. I couldn’t put it down, and by the time I got to the end, I was so entrenched within this world, that I was more than ready to get the rest of it… sadly I’ll have to wait to get more, but it will be well worth the wait. Till then, be sure you read Stealing Her. You won’t be disappointed!
The blurb of this book had me intrigued. Estranged twins, one living with the father, one with the mother. Julian was ruthless in business and putting anything else that mattered to him behind work. He treats his fiancee awful. She’s in the background being belittled by him, trying to please him at every step. The day she decides she can no longer marry him and tells him so, Julian is in a terrible accident.
His ruthless father, who is worse than Julian, calls upon Bridge (his brother) to fill in all aspects of Julian’s life. Bridge hates it and his father (he feels he owes it to his brother) but goes along with it.
I wanted to wrap my hands around his neck and squeeze. I wanted to watch his head pop off and roll down the street while it got run over by a fleet of taxis before finally landing in a sewer where it rotted apart from his corpse so he roamed the earth searching for his head for the rest of eternity. A bit much?
And then there is Izzy….when Bridge shows up as a “recovered” Julian, she is shocked how much he is the man she fell in love with in college. She falls in love all over again. And Bridge can’t help but start to fall for Izzy.
“She clung to me like I was hers. And I held her like she was mine.”
How will Izzy feel when she finds out Julian isn’t who she thought he was?
I felt bad for Julian (just a little) because what he got, he deserved. I believe his story will be coming in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to the next installment.
This has truly been, in my opinion, one of the best books Rachel has written!! She wrote amazing characters that broke your heart and then put it back together. The secretaries and angst is so powerful! The book didn’t go the way I thought it would, so that always means it is great writing. Not predictable and the last 3 sentences will leave you dying for book 2. Not a cliff hanger persay, but definitely a what just happened moment.
I think something that is so unique about this book and that makes it better is the fact that Rachel brought to light about a disease that is rare but her PA has. If you don’t know Jill Sava yet, you are missing out! She is a great person and I knew about her disease, but this book brought it so much more to light!
Great job RVD! This is 6 spectacular stars!
What an awesome book. I was drawn in from page one. I wasn’t sure how I would feel when I started reading this story. The premise is not my typical genre of books so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Why do I ever doubt things when it comes to RVD and her books? What a fantastic story. I can’t wait for the second part of this story!!! (NOT a cliffhanger!!)
First off this is a great read. I highly recommend it. In this book I got to read about these brothers and how they grew up. It was sad what happen to their family. Bridge works his butt off for his mom and himself. Julian tries everything in his power to make his dad proud. Isobel is stuck in the middle and there is no way out for her. Isobel tries everything in her power to keep their relationship alive and Julian is doing the opposite. Bridge and Julian’s father is downright nasty and selfish. I don’t want to give anything away. Julian is trying to survive his future. Their mother is trying to survive. Bridge is stuck in the middle and trying to protect them both. Isobel is sweet and trying to figure out what is happening.
achel Van Dyken – OMG!!! I have never been disappointed and this didn’t let me down!! Rachel Van Dyken never holds back when she writes. The emotion, angst, and steaminess she brings to the table will blow your away! The wit and overall humor this book elicits is pure genius.
Bridge and izzys story – it has a storyline like no other!! They meet under very unlikely circumstances and it is a rollercoaster. You know what’s going to happen but can’t wait to see how it unfolds. A must buy by Rachel Van Dyken!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Stealing Her is twisted love triangle, with lots of raw, intense moments, that will leave you breathless!
This story truly pulled at my heart as identical twin brothers
Julian and Bridge are separated at a vulnerable age., by divorce. Bridge being the protector was devastated when he realized he would live with his mother, while Julian would live with their father.
I have to say this broke my heart! I have younger brothers that are identical twins and I know first hand how close their relationship is, even now as adults, To see Bridge and Julian’s lives ripped apart by their own father was heartbreaking. Rachel Van Dyken wrote this with so much emotion, I could feel it as I read, the pain, betrayal, the love and the what if’s! It’s all right here in this fabulous book!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an intriguing, fast paced love story! Rachel Van Dyken is masterful in this new book about twin brothers, good versus evil and so much passion!!
5+ Stars
What a hangover this book has given me! I am at a loss for adequate words to describe Stealing Her. The blurb is interesting, but it doesn’t do this outstanding book justice. The plot is fast paced and captivating. I had great difficulty putting the book down to go to work. I dove right back in during my lunch break!
Bridge is strong, but he is also tough mentally and emotionally. I quickly came to like him for his big heart and for the way he takes care of his mother (and brother). Isobel is clearly hurting and emotionally damaged. It took me a bit to warm up to her because she was so bitter, suspicious, and defensive…and rightfully so. They are both incredibly complex, well-written characters, and they most definitely belong together. I hated Marla so much. What an awful person.
I wasn’t ready for the story to end, and I’m hoping Julian will get a book of his own. I highly recommend this book as one of my best reads in 2019!
What would you do if you were asked to impersonate your twin?
Bridge Anderson Tennyson’s life is about to change, when his twin Julian is seriously injured in an accident Bridge’s father asks him to step up in his place. Bridge accepts the offer, despite his dislike of his father, how hard could it be to pretend to be his brother? Be the CEO of his fathers company, live in a nice apartment and have a beautiful fiancé.
Izzy has had enough of her fiancé Julian, with all of his lies and his cheating she’s ready to call it quits. When Julian returns home after being injured in an accident, he almost seems like a different person. He’s sweet, caring and affectionate. As Izzy starts to fall back in love with her fiancé she begins to realize that somethings are very different. Living as Julian has Bridge wound up more so to do with the fact he’s falling for his brothers fiancé. What will happen when his brother wakes up and what will Izzy do when she finds out? I could not put this book down, it had me hooked! The chemistry between Bridge and Izzy is amazing, beautiful story that really pulls at the heart strings. An excellent read!
This was one of my favorite books I have read! I read this in one sitting – I just couldn’t put it down. It was equal parts intriguing as it was heart wrenching. I absolutely loved Bridge and Izzy. Their chemistry together was off the charts and incredibly angsty. I was not fond of Julian at the beginning but he began to grow on me too. I’m eagerly awaiting book 2 of this series. It definitely gave me all the feel and you will probably need tissues but it is definitely worth it.
Wow!! This book was a trip!! Starts out with Bridge
getting a visit from his estranged father wanting him to act like his twin brother who’s been in an accident and take the role as CEO of his company. In exchange, his very sick mother’s healthcare is paid in full and he will also finally get his rightful inheritance and stocks in the company.
I cannot imagine being in Bridge’s shoes and having to take on the role of his twin brother with only a few people actually knowing his true identity. One of the people not knowing being his brother, Julian’s fiancé, Isobel. So things get intense when he has to live with her daily. He is totally enamored with her and she thinks that the accident has brought back the Julian she loved in college.
I’m not a fan of cheating books usually but after hearing how Julian treated Isobel I found my self really pulling for Bridge and Izzy. This book kept me intrigued! I felt like I was on the verge of a train wreck! I knew it was gonna be bad but I just couldn’t stop!! I couldn’t wait find out what would happen next!! The way things end, I’m pretty sure who the next story is going to be about! I can’t wait to read it!! This was a great read! 4.5 stars!
Here’s to another spectacular read by Rachel Van Dyken!
From the very first word, the author will have you entranced and have you turning page after page til’ the wee hours in the morning until you come to the last and final word.
Stealing Her is a remarkable read. The story building was a little emotional for me and how Bridge and Izzy was able to come to terms of their past and present. The angst in the story will have you catch your breath and hoping the outcome will end with a happy ending! And trust me you’ll want to finish this book to find out! The emotions these characters have are so tangible, it’s like you’ll there with them, feeling what they are feeling. It’s why love Rachel Van Dyken’s stories. She grabs your attention from the very beginning and won’t let you go until you finish the story and have you craving for me. I for one, can’t wait for Finiding Him, the second book in the Covet series.
Cheer’s to RVD for another amazing read.
So. Much. Angsty Goodness.
I absolutely loved the heat and tension in this book between the characters. I squirmed in my seat while reading and couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough! Highly recommend picking this one up!
What a crazy storyline that I couldn’t get enough of! Bridge and Julian are twins who have always supported each other but when divorce breaks their family apart, they are separated as well. As time goes on, the pair drift apart and have no relationship, with Bridge taking care of their sick mother and Julian following in their father’s footsteps. Everything changes when Julian is in a car accident and ends up in a coma, and their father’s company takes a hit. In a ploy to recoup the loss, their father gives Bridge the offer of a lifetime – to pay for all their mother’s medical bills and more. Taking Julian’s place, Bridge is to tell nobody of his true identity, including Julian’s fiancé Isobel. While Isobel is unhappy in her relationship with Julian and breaking off the engagement, that all changes when the accident occurs and he comes back a changed man. While Isobel thinks something is different and can’t determine why he has changed, she goes along with everything, even falling back in love. But when Isobel finds out that she’s been falling back in love with the other twin, and Julian’s prognosis changes, it creates a world of chaos in and out of the public eye. This was such a great storyline and I couldn’t get enough of trying to figure out what Julian’s master plan was as well as getting back at their father. This was an epic book and I can’t wait to get Julian’s story next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Stealing Her is book one in this interconnected series from the author. I’ve read some of the author’s book and if I wasn’t a fan before, this newest book definitely had me in its clutches with perfectly written story. This is a contemporary, forbidden romance told in dual POV.
The story is about Bridge, who had to assume the role of his twin brother who is fighting for his own life at the hospital. Bridge and Julian was separated when their parents divorced. Bridge went to live with his mother, while Julian went with their father. When they were young, Bridge used to protect Julian from all the school bullies. They were best of friends. Years later, he was offered by his father to do the switch. He couldn’t put down the offer especially that he needs it to take care of his ailing mother. However, he didn’t expect that he would fall in love with his brother’s fiancée, Isobel.
I loved the forbidden theme in this story, and I couldn’t help but root for these two to have their happily ever after although I know that it was a bit wrong. I was already hooked by the blurb itself and reading this story had me all swoony, conflicted, and just about highly strung up because of the intense moments. Overall, highly recommend and a must-read!
This was a 4.5 read for me! I really loved the story line! It’s something that I haven’t read alot of. SO glad I read this one!
Bridge was always viewed as the bad guy by their father, the one who always got into trouble and his twin brother Julian, the good guy and who lived up to his expectation. Despite that Julian and Bridge always have the tightest relationship. A divorce between their parents had kept them apart and Bridge chose to live with their mother.
Years later, Julian has changed and stopped all of their contacts. He changed to be Bridge’s most hated man on earth, which is their father, and abandoned Bridge and their mother.
Everly never thought being a Tennyson woman would be so lonely and she felt abandoned. She was determined to break their engagement. But an accident happened and when he’s back in their apartment, he was back to his old college self. The man who she had fell for and she’s in crossroads whether to still go through their engagement or not.
Wow this book was an emotional roller coaster. From start to finish I wasn’t sure who I should root for. The twist just keep on coming and just when you think it’s coming together bam the rug gets pulled out from under you. I loved this book so much and enjoyed getting lost in the story. The plot was original and kept me hooked throughout. I can’t wait ro read more from this series it was truly and amazing book.
Stealing Her is an enthralling contemporary romance about Bridge pretending to be his twin brother while his brother is in a coma. While Julian continues to fight for his life, Bridge steps into his shoes and takes on two new responsibilities. VP of his father’s company and fiance to Isobel. Rachel Van Dyken created a story that features a strained relationship between brothers, parents, and a soon to be spouse.
Rachel is one of my favorite authors so I was very excited to read this one. I was sucked in from the first pages. I thought it was a great story that wouldn’t be a happily ever after. The Tennyson world is full of manipulation and power and you are always on your toes. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the pin to drop as I was reading.
The story is complex and enjoyed meeting these characters. Before Julian gets in an accident that leaves him comatose, we get to know him briefly. He is dominating in every way. He does it all to get the approval he has always sought out from his father. He vowed to be the man his father wasn’t and finds himself heading that direction. Julian doesn’t treat his fiance the way she deserves to be treated. Bridge is the complete opposite of his brother. He is kind, compassionate, yet bossy when he needs to be. When his estranged father makes him an offer he can’t refuse, he has to change his lifestyle to that of his brothers. He heads to ‘his new apartment’ and sees the most beautiful woman. She is Julian’s fiance Isobel. He automatically notices her hatred and anger towards him. Two people who are about to get married shouldn’t have those feelings. He makes it his mission to put a smile on her face every day and protect her always. Isobel is a woman holding on to a love she once experienced. She is about to leave Julian when he gets in the accident. She unknowingly starts to see the ‘old Julian’ in Bridge and wants to give them another chance.
Bridge and Isobel are great together. They genuinely enjoy each other’s company and make each other better. Of course, every love story has its obstacles. Once Isobel finds out the truth, she struggles with her decision. They both are left with guilt and a sense of betrayal.
There are so many things left up in the air. Will Julian wake up? Is love stronger than betrayal?
I give Stealing Her 4 stars. It is a beautiful disaster of a love story. It is intriguing and compelling. I am so excited for more in this series. I can’t wait to get more of Julian and his perspective. Stealing Her (Covet Book 1) Rachel Van Dyken
Angst, heartbreak, secrets, and a whole lot of swoon worthy moments had me wanting a Bridge of my own!
This story pulled at my heartstrings more than any other RVD book I’ve read. I cheered more for Isobel and Bridge than any other couple she’s written…they totally stole my heart!
Bridge and Julian are identical twins, but looks is where their similarities ends. Separated in their teens when their parents are divorced only intensifies their differences.
Isobel is engaged to Julian, but no longer recognizes the narcissistic, cheating man he’s become and wants out, but then Julian is in an accident.
A favour, a deal, a replacement, a deception…Bridge becomes Julian. Bridge’s only reasons for doing this is Julian and his mom. Sure that he can handle this until Julian wakes up from his coma, Bridge didn’t count on Isobel. A tangled web of lies and deceit, complicated even more by the strong feelings Bridge ends up having for Isobel, this story takes some crazy twists and turns, heats up to steamy hot, and gives us an epic ending with a tease of more to come.
