Another fantastic read delivered in true Rachel style!!
Stealing her keeps you gripped right from the start!!
A story full of angst, love, lust heartbreak and betrayal.
Both twins fighting for the life they deserve, but can ultimate betrayal be forgiven??
I absolutely loved this book ,brilliantly written to draw the reader into the story with fantastic characters, you will definitely swoon hard at bridge ahhh.
Stealing Her is book 1 in the new Covet Series and it’s about how far you will go for family, justice and the one you love …….
It’s a story that will captivate you from the first page to the last line and you won’t want to put it down so be prepared to lose sleep. This is one of those books that I believe needs to be read with no preconceived ideas so I’m not going to write a review full of spoilers I’m use going to tell you how this book made me feel. This book has all the feels and if you love a story that is full of angst and romance this should be a book you are one clicking add in the wonderful characters, the passion and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. What’s next in the Covet Series
Bridge Tennyson had the best life until he was ripped away from his twin brother Julian and abandoned by his father. Years later when Julian gets into a head-on collision, Bridge’s father Edward makes him an offer he can’t refuse … he’ll pay all medical bills for Bridge’s dying mother if he pretends to be Julian. Other than a select few, nobody knows about the ruse, not even Julian’s fiancée Isobel. What happens when Bridge starts falling for the beautiful Isobel?
Stealing Her is a heartbreaking, angsty, and suspenseful story full of twists and turns that you won’t be able to put down and is so engrossing that I missed my stop on the way to work. I absolutely loved Bridge and Izzy’s story and can’t wait to read Julian’s story in Finding Him, book 2 of the Covet series.
Bridge is the ultimate guy; he’s charming, funny, loyal and incredibly sexy. Isobel is sweet, giving, and very guarded with her heart. He is fiercely protective and completely enamored with Isobel from the first time he sees her. They share a connection that is intensely strong and unexpected. Bridge tries to fight his attraction to Isobel as she is engaged to his brother and he is powerless to resist the magnetic pull to her. Isobel feels a connection she thought was lost and is trying to make sense of everything that’s happening. The storyline is well-written and I absolutely adored every second. Whether to give into your heart’s desire and go down a road from which you can’t return was emotional. The decisions made to ultimately help those we love were powerful moving. Witnessing these two souls heal was breathtaking. This is an emotional story that is so beautifully written and worth reading!
The first book in Rachel Van Dyken’s Covet series is kicking off with a bang. We have two brothers who because of an evil father has been separated leading different lives. All it takes though is fate to bring them together and making one twin see that life is not always greener in the other side. I loved that Bridge is so unlike Julian in everyway it is somewhat scary that they are actually really brothers. Then we have Isobel who just wants someone to love her and in a way Julian did at one time but somewhere along the way it has been forgotten. I loved that Bridge is sincere, sweet, loving yet also is troubled by how things are coming along the way and just wants to be honest in everything. As the first book in this series it was great and excited for book 2 and see more about Julian.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I’ll start by saying that Edward Tennyson is reprehensible, as a husband, father and human being!
Julian is a lost soul, seeking the approval of his father to the point he has almost completely lost himself. There is more to him than just the playboy businessman but it’s buried deep. An accident is all it takes and he has lost life as he knows it while he sleeps in a coma.
Bridge, full of resentment and loss. He lost his father and twin years ago in a divorce. Then his father comes for a visit. I’ll term it “hell hath opened a door”. Walk through it for your twin and risk losing yourself.
Stealing Her and his twin’s life is the ultimate betrayal and master manipulation by Edward Tennyson. But falling in love and being successful while doing everything in your power to take care of everyone you love has the power to destroy the whole house of cards. And it will fall. It’s inevitable. But what and who will be lost in the rubble?
The epilogue left me off kilter. I’m thinking it’s setting the stage for book two and I hope it’s a plan for the redemption of a lost soul.
There is a special bond that twins share. One that the rest of the world is not privy to, but what happens when those bonded siblings are torn from each other’s lives? For Bridge and Julian – life wasn’t the same after their father shredded their family dynamic. Forcing their mother’s hand, the twin’s father pulled the duo in opposite directions. Julian was forced to stay with his father, while Bridge moved on with his mother and a new start on life.
While Julian was living the ‘high life’ of the corporate scene, Bridge was struggling just to keep his family’s head above water. Medical bills from the twin’s mother’s illness came at a high price. Then a twist of fate would have the two worlds colliding in an unexpected way. Julian was injured in a devastating car accident. With a corporate deal on the table that was worth a fortune, the twin’s father steps into the scene again with an unexpected offer.
A plan was made, and Bridge agrees to an epic switch with his sibling. What is the cost of taking the place of your twin and stepping into a world that you shunned so long ago? Bridge will discover that everything in Julian’s life is not as it seems. One of the things that will throw a wrench in things is Julian’s relationship with Isobel. Can Bridge just walk into the life of his brother without anyone picking up on the switch? Only time will tell what turmoil and temptation will come with this plan.
Stealing Her is the first book in a new series by Rachel Van Dyken. With an intriguing blurb, I found myself pulled into a tale that was unexpected and quite original. Julian and Bridge definitely deal with the perils of divorce in the most unexpected ways. Nothing about their situation is the norm. What I found interesting was the creativity that RVD was able to show in the plot of this story. After all – how many times are twins separated by parents in a divorce? The story was definitely unusual and I found myself stuck to my reader anticipating what would unfold next. Make sure you check out this series starter, which provides a great foundation of what is yet to come!
Stealing Her by Rachel Van Dyken is the first book in Covet Series. This story was full of drama, angst, betrayal, and unexpected love. I was hooked on this story immediately, and I couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know what was going to happen!
Julian and Bridge Tennyson are twins who were separated as teenagers when their parents divorced. Their evil father got custody of Julian, while Bridge went to live with their mother. The twins lost contact with each other. Now, as adults, Julian is a vice president and future CEO of Tennyson Financial and engaged to Isobel Cunningham. Whereas, Bridge has to work three jobs to pay the bills and his mother’s medical treatments.
When Julian gets seriously injured in a car accident, their father makes an offer that Bridge can’t refuse. All he has to do is pretend to be Julian to save the company. And this is when the story gets very interesting when Bridge finds himself falling for his brother’s fiancée.
Overall, I really enjoyed Isobel and Bridge’s story! And I can’t wait to read Julian’s story!
When a manipulative father gives you an ultimatum, you take it. Right!! Bridge is going to pretend to be his twin brother for the company’s sake. But what happens when he falls in love with his brother’s fiance? Can Izzy ever forgive him? Will Julian wake up? Will Bridge leave nothing but devastation for everyone in his wake? Loved this story!! Totally unexpected, but so worthwhile!!!
Rachel Van Dyken delivers a story full of angst, drama, heartbreak, sexiness, twists and turns. Stealing Her has it all.
For the past decade Bridge has had one goal. To take care of his ailing mother. Ever since his father tore apart their family, choosing his twin brother and abandoned him and his mother, Bridge has worked tirelessly while holding a grudge. And then out of the blue his father shows up at his doorstep making him an offer he can’t refuse. All he has to do is pretend to be Julian, his twin brother, who’s hospitalized fighting for his life.
It should have been easy. Bridge and his brother had once been inseparable best friends. The only problem is that he’s fooling himself if he thinks he can stay away from his brother’s fiancée. The stunning and remarkably caring woman who clearly wanted to end her engagement with his neglectful brother. How will the cards fall once the truth is revealed?
I don’t think I had ever truly read a forbidden romance until I picked up Stealing Her. This is not a typical man meets woman, they find a connection, fall in love, run into some roadblocks but then find a way to live happily ever after. This is a rare and skillfully written romance I couldn’t put down. I was hooked from the start knowing that the proverbial shoe would eventually fall, not knowing how or when but eagerly anticipating it.
When Bridge steps into his brother’s shoes he realizes that not all is what it seems. He realizes that the brother he had demonized had also had a difficult life being under their father’s oppressive thumb. But Julian had made one too many mistakes when it came to Isobel and Bridge couldn’t help but fall for the gorgeous woman.
Even though they were faced with an impossible situation, I really wanted Bridge and Izzy to find their happy ending. The connection between them leaped from the pages. I especially swooned over Bridge helping Isobel rebuild her confidence and give her space and freedom. Even though he thought himself the villain, I loved him as a hero.
Their circumstances where unfathomable, there was no easy out and in the end I had a huge book hangover with a montage of emotions. The next book in the series can’t come fast enough.
Stealing Her is book #1 of the Covet series by Rachel Van Dyken. It is a standalone, contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending.
Great storyline that I was thrilled to dig into. Who doesn’t love a good twin swap? I love RVD but this wasn’t my favorite from her. The setup was terrific but for me there were too many unbelievable parts and I didn’t really feel the connection between Izzy and Bridge and it took too long to get to the goodie parts of their relationship. There was a lot of convincing in the beginning that Izzy wasn’t a gold digger (which she wasn’t) and I really liked that she was all soft and heartfelt. Bridge as the strong twin willing to sacrifice for his family really went above and beyond. What a hero! The villainous dad was despicable. Ugh! It seemed out of character for him to taking in Isobel when he threw away his son. I had mixed feelings about Mom. Overall it was an intriguing story with some ups and downs and a good ending. I am interested to see were Julian’s story goes. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
4.5 stars
Drop everything your dong and grab this book. This is my new favorite by Rachel Van Dyken. She pulled me in, once I started I couldn’t stop until I finished. This book was filled with all the angsty goodness I love.
Bridge and Julian are identical twins. Things get a little crazy when Jillian is fighting for his life in a coma. His brother Bridge steps in to help run the company he loves and take care of his fiancé. Things are going as good as can be while pretending to be his twin brother until the lines get blurred and he falls for his brother’s fiancé.
That’s all I’m going to say about this book. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone. This is a must read!
Well done RVD!! This book is filled with impossible situations, a wide range of emotions, and characters that will stick with me for a long time to come!
There was nothing easy about the situations these characters found themselves in; I mean the good son is dying, the forgotten has to play the roll of a lifetime and a damaged girl is caught in the middle…wtf right?? Well this author was able to spin us a story that was so intriguing and full of the hard stuff that I couldn’t put it down!
The best part…this is book one in this new series so we are going to get more!! I can’t wait!
Talk about being in an impossible position. Bridge tries his best to rise above the hurt and disappointment. To be anyone other than a copy of his dad and sadly also his brother. When he meets Isobel he is determined to show her that she is a priority. He is driven by love and guilt through the whole ordeal. Isobel is driven more than anything by hope. Even when she has been hurt over and over by the one person she loved and trusted. But at some point they re-discover in the other a sense of safety and completeness. There is no way they both can turn away from that, from each other. This is a complicated but intriguing story. Feels way out there but very well delivered. And it’s like that mostly because it’s not the “fairy tale happily ever after”. It’s the “we can be good but we need to work hard at it and only time will heal” kind of book.
Another fantastic book by Rachel Van Dyken. This is the story of Bridge and Julian, twins who were separated as teenagers. Bridge is thrust into Julian’s shoes when he is in a car accident and his father convinces him to become Julian, including the finance to Isobel. Izzy had tried to break up with Julian right before his accident but then when “Julian” starts acting like the man she fell in love with she stays. This was a great story and can’t recommend it enough!
Wow! What an original, angsty story! Absolutely loved it.
I have loved this author for a long time now. Her books keep me captivated and wanting more. This book was amazing. The characters had me totally obsessed with this story. I absolutely loved Bridge. Julian not as much. Isabel was stuck and didn’t know how to make things change. Beautiful, riveting story that will pull you in quickly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
This is a great start to another new series from RVD. It had me hooked from beginning to end, unable to put it down even when I was reading in bed and kept hitting myself in the head with my kindle as I was so tired but I just didn’t want to put it down.
I loved Bridge and Izzy, the connection between them is instant and off the charts hot. Considering Bridge is her fiancé’s twin brother she knew nothing about, I loved watching the questioning going on in Izzy’s head. She must have thought she was going insane with the changes to the man she thought she knew. My heart broke for Bridge as he was falling in love with the girl he shouldn’t.
They were in this situation thanks to a car crash and I was constantly waiting for another crash to happen, when the truth comes out. Will they get what their hearts want or will they lose everything? As the book went on I was honestly getting very anxious and heaven help anyone that interrupted my reading!!
Another great read from RVD
RVD has another hit on her hands. This is by far my favorite of hers. It was angsty, romantic, suspenseful and more. I couldn’t stop reading once I started. This book will keep you up all night and you won’t regret it. I love RVD and all her books but this series is going to be my favorite!
