So unexpected! I love it! RVD writes PAGE TURNERS!
I love it (and her)! Read the darn book! You’re going to love it!
“She clung to me like I was hers. And I held her like she was mine.”
I was beyond intrigued when I read the synopsis for this story. Twins? Hells yeah! I devoured this book, glued to my Kindle, unavailable to the rest of the world until I turned the last page. It was that good!
This story is kinda like Parent Trap meets Dynasty. Twin brothers separated from each other when their parents divorce each other. There’s pain and betrayal and anger and desperation involved. Julian is with the ruthless rich father and is raised to eventually take over his corporation. He had the best of the best as far as material things go. But, what he wants the most is his father’s approval.
The other twin is with their mother. He had none of the material things, working three jobs to care for himself and his mother. Always struggling and worried about their future. He feels abandoned by his twin, but he also feels guilty for not being there to look out for him. Though they are the same age, he was minutes older and bigger, and stronger.
The last thing he wants is to help his heartless father, but he can’t resist the chance to save the company for Julian. Though his brother seems to have forgotten he exists, he can’t escape the guilt he feels for not keeping the promise he made in their youth to always protect him.
It seemed like a good idea at the time… until her. How the hell is he supposed to protect his heart while protecting his brother’s future? How can he live with himself for betraying her trust by pretending to be her fiancé? He’s supposed to give her back when his brother recovers, but what he really wants to do is steal her for himself.
This tantalizing tale put me through the wringer as I worried and waited for all the neatly placed cards to fall. I admit to having negative feelings about Julian based on other people’s memories and encounters with him. Since he was injured and unavailable for me to get to know I kind of tagged him the ‘evil twin’. I know, not cool, right? But, it was my way of giving the other twin permission to fall in love so I didn’t join him in the ‘guilt game’. Trust me, once you get a taste of the electricity sparking between them you’ll feel the same way. They need to be together. But… “Not all stories end happy. Some end messy.”
So, prepare yourselves, “—strap the hell in.” It’s so good I didn’t want it to end. I’m consoling myself with the fact that it’s only the first installment in the Covet series so there will be more to come. The line forms here…
Thief in Plain Sight
Some breakups hurt more than others. When betrayed Isobel calls off her engagement to billionaire and former best friend Julian, his tragic car accident minutes later changes everything. To hide Julian’s coma from the press, the devil of a dad strikes a deal with his abandoned twin, Bridge. Poor boy Bridge has no alternatives. He and his mother were long ago left destitute, and his mother desperately needs 24/7 hospital care. Diving into his stunt double duties, he’s ready to hold down the fort until Julian awakens. He understood the role: take every piece of Julian’s life and become him. But can he steal Julian’s fiancee, too? And if he lets Issy close, how could he ever let her go?
Rachel Van Dyken is a genius with dancing through language to draw the reader further and further down the sweet and seductive rabbit hole. As I’m crunched for time, I’m moving more and more into audio books, and this one was truly excellent with tremendous actors and pace. I sped it up just a wee bit on audible, and loved it.
During his youth, Bridge defended his twin brother, Julian, from bullies. His father would be more than disappointed in Bridge because he would get suspended as result. Bridge never told his father Julian was being bullied because he would think less of Julian.
Bridge promises Jules that he will always be there for him. But, at fourteen, the tables turn and the brothers are separated. Bridge must go with his mom, at this dad’s request since he believes Bridge is a trouble maker, and Jules with his dad. The problem? Jules is very impressionable and fears his father.
Years later, after Julian has an accident and is in a coma, Bridge’s father finally makes an appearance. He wants Bridge to act as Julian to close business deals and to continue doing so in all aspects of Julian’s life. This includes Julian’s fiancée, Isobel.
Lines become blurred and what was a sham has now become real. Not only does Bridge want to take over his father’s business, he wants Isobel as well!
Can he have it all? Or, will he once again lose it all?
Holy crap! This book got its tentacles in me and did not let go! I was consumed with Izzy, Bridge and Julian. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Absolutely everything was eclipsed as I read this book.
I had so many feels when it came to Bridge. He is honest and hardworking and yet, he is eventually put in an untenable position of his own making. He loves his brother’s fiancée and he would love to mend fences with his brother as well.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I received an ARC via NetGalley of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this book! I remember reading the synopsis when it was first released and excited for this story! I was a little nervous though about a love triangle, but I had nothing to worry about! I cannot wait to read Finding Him.
I fell hard for Bridge. He has a heart of gold. He’s being asked a lot by a man he hates, but he’s willing to do whatever he can to protect the ones he loves. He sacrifices so much for those people, but also does the unthinkable.
Oh my poor Isobel. My heart broke for her. She was a lost soul waiting for the right man to come and show her who she could be. Someone to help set her free.
This book is one of my favorites by Rachel. It gave me all the feels. Now I need book 2! I have to know what happens with Julian!
it was amazing
A Grand slam
I have been a huge fan of Rachel’s and this book has to be one of her bests.
I have a lot to say about the Tennyson family. First of all I hate the father. That man takes the word control to another level. To him money is the only thing that has ever mattered to him and in this story he proved that 100 times over. And my heart hurt for Julian and Bridge. He treated those boys like possessions and he wanted to mold them in his sick image. But thankfully one of them was able to escape while the other had to bend to their fathers will.
And the boys mother now let just say that woman is a true a rock star. She is a very brave woman and I gave her a lot of props as I read this book. Did I yell at Rachel at certain points, you bet I did. But the one other person that I truly felt horrible for was Isobel. She was a pawn. She was used to control both boys..
Wowza! What an phenomenal read. RVD has packed this book with so many different emotions. Stealing Her is unputdownable.
Bridge Anderson never thought that he would have to be a stand in for his twin. Once the two brothers went in different directions, there were many years of hate and resentment that Bridge had for Julian. Even though he had vowed to protect him always.
Isobel Cunningham is over her fiancé. She’s ending things because she is over the lies, cheating and control. Until an accident happens and Julian comes home completely different. He comes back as the man she loved before the trust fund. Even though she knows there is something different about him.
We follow as Bridge, steps into Julian’s life, his work, his clothes, his home and as he falls for his fiancé. But when Julian awakes, everything changes.
I honestly loved everything about this book.
Highly recommended.
*I was given a free advanced copy of this book by Net Galley in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. All thoughts and opinions are those of my own.*
Stealing Her had me hooked from the very start! The story is about twin brothers Julian and Bridge and their crazy twisted life. This book kept me on my toes and I didn’t know what would happen next. I can’t wait to read what happens next! Such a great read by Rachel Van Dyken!
One of the best books I’ve read in a reaaallly long time. Gosh, words cannot even explain the pure pleasure I got from this story. It was just perfect!
When an author can hold you in suspense and keep the story interesting, you know it’s a winner. Twins Bridge and Julian haven’t seen each other forever. After an accident puts Julian in the hospital with a coma, Bridge becomes Julian. Their father, ruthless investor, Edward Tennyson, insists that Bridge step in for Julian while he recovers. The focus of the story is Bridge’s falling for Julian’s fiancee, Isobel. Will she ever figure out the switched identity?
Stealing Her by Rachel Van Dyken an romantic read filled with business and family politics. It’s one of overcoming the demons of your past and learning to heal and love again. Rachel Van Dyken is a lovely story-teller. I enjoyed getting to know Isobel, Bridge, and Julian, but there were times where this story did drag on and I found myself walking away from the book for days at a time. I do wish it had held my attention better, because then it would have been a 5-star read for me. I do still plan on reading the next standalone in this duet, Finding him.
Stealing Her is book one in the Covet series. It is romantic, angsty and steamy, mixed up with some drama. The story flows easily and captured me from the beginning. The story is centered on the Tennyson family which includes twin brothers Julian and Bridge.
“…the Tennyson family, with all of their dark secrets, greed, and textbook narcissism.”
Edward Tennyson is the head of the family and was easy to dislike. Rich, powerful, controlling and just plain mean at times. He was constantly showing off his wealth. He was the perfect combination of compliments and manipulations.
Twins Julian and Bridge Tennyson were as close as twins could be until they were separated in their teens when once again their dad tore their family apart and separated them. When a terrible accident occurs Edward Tennyson once again manipulates Bridge into covering for his twin brother who is in a coma and has a fiancée, Isobel (Izzy).
I found Stealing Her to be a quick and romantic read. There wasn’t a lot of content but enough to enjoy this romantic story. I enjoyed the buildup between Bridge and Isobel (Izzy). They had chemistry but it was not insta-lust/insta-love. Their sexy times were HOT! I liked where it ended and look forward to Julian’s story in Finding Him!
4 stars

Stealing Her (Covet, Book 1) is a new adult contemporary romance. Brimming with angst this poignant listen will leave in ruins. Sweet moments sprinkled throughout the narrative. I absolutely loved this love saga. Character’s are compelling and the storyline is intriguing. Told in dual pov with a hea which leads into book two. I’m looking forward to listening to the next audio in this series.
Overall, definitely worth listening.
Narrators Alexander Cendese, Lucy Rivers performance was fine. I didn’t find anything wrong with it, but it wasn’t my favourite. Their inflections were just not passionate, or give you cravings to listen to.

Honestly this might be my new favorite RVD book! This book touched my soul! It broke it my heart, out it back together again, and it will never be the same!
I fell in love with Bridge from the very first page. He is a protector, lover, and fighter. He takes care of his family at all costs even if it means selling his soul. He was funny, sarcastic, and he loves with his entire being. He saw something in Isobel that was beautiful. He saw the real her and it made hi m want to do what he does best, fix and love.
Isobel was someone I wanted to give a hug and have a girl’s night with. She reminds me of some women in my life who have been through some tough and heartbreaking mess! She deserved the love they had before life got in the way and she ended up with one that was even better.
I think the realness of this book is what got to me. We all have been at points in life or a relationship where we go “what happened?” ” how did we end up here? ” “who’s life is this?” We have all felt guilty, hopeless, or done. We have all felt love, happiness, alive, and free.
I have so many emotions and thoughts that I can’t even out into words. I just loved this book! It will leave you speechless!
WOW, this was so good. I listened to it in one setting and had to plug my phone in to keep it going because I was losing my charge. Julian is in an accident and left in a coma and his father show up to bring in his twin brother to take over his life. Bridge has always been the one to save him and is the one who was stronger and would always fight for him and when their parents divorced he was sent away because he would not bend to his father’s will. Now he is being brought in to save the day, save the company, save the family. Now he finds himself falling in love with Julian’s fiance…and Isabelle finds herself falling for him. Oh, what a tangled web. This one was so good. Now I have to immediately get Julian’s story!
2019published, both-pov, contemporary, easy-to-read, friends-in-love, m-f-romance, nyc, plot, read, romance, sex
What I liked the most about this book is that they don’t break up, they don’t have a stupid fight or disagreement and each one goes their own way for 1 or 2 chapters to get back together.
They know each other, understand each other and find themselves in love, and despite everything that happens against them they resolve together and stay together.
What is strange and unbelievable is someone waking up from a coma after 40 days perfectly fine, 100% good, without any physical or mental sequelae. Good book, highly recommend!
