While Trevor helps Bryn rescue the diamondback turtles, her grade school friend plans to steal her heart. It’s breeding season and Bryn’s got turtles on her mind, not men and marriage. Her current boyfriend’s away and she’s not sure Malcolm’s her forever man. When her diamondback nests are ravaged by critters, good friend Trevor Daniels, now a marine biologist, steps up to help. Soon his little … little girls fall in love with the turtles and Bryn, although his socialite mother works against them.
Since his divorce, Trevor’s kept busy in his lab while raising his adorable twins. No way will he marry again, since his wife abandoned them, much like the mama turtles that walk away from their nest. But Bryn and her hatchlings need him. The coastal waters aren’t the only thing heating up as Trevor works on Bryn’s problems, while wondering about his own future without her.
This is a sweet romance, second book in the Best Friends to Forever series, set in Sweetwater Creek, where close friendships sometimes lead to forever!

Bryn
Finds that her love for turtles brings a friend from childhood back into her life. Trevor & Bryn were friends as kids until her parents moved for work. Trevor met Emily on a dating site and they didn’t work, but it brought the other two together even his twins like her.
Sometimes the most obvious answer is the solution we refuse to consider. Steal My Heart, Trevor turns obvious on it’s head. Lohr knows how to touch a heart. Trevor is the guy that keeps getting left behind. Bryn is the girl that can’t see the forest from the trees. When life steps in to point them in the right direction, will they finally take the bait and find forever. Endearingly sweet bundle of heart.
Book two in the Best Friends to Forever series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Trevor Daniels and Bryn Peachum where best friends in school, but things had them going their different ways. Trevor is now divorced with two little girls Daisy and Annabelle when they meet up again. I enjoyed reading how they get their second chance. I received an Arc an I am voluntarily reviewing.
Steal My Heart, Trevor by Barbara Lohr is book number two in the Best Friends to Forever series. This is Trevor Daniels and Bryn Peachum’s story.
Trevor and Bryn’s story is a sweet and clean romance. They were best friends growing up and lost touch with each other. Now they are friends again or is more?
Bryn is committed to protecting the turtles. It was fun learning about the turtles.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this books.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I did also purchase a copy.
This was a charming story. I adored reading Bryn and Trevor’s story. I also loved having Emily and Jackson (from the prior story of this series) making appearances. Trevor is a marine biologist and a father of twin four year girls. Trevor made an appearance in the prior book as well and I was glad that he was paired up with Bryn.
Trevor gives a speech in Sweetwater and Bryn goes to it. She is worried about her diamondback turtles. What will happen to her precious babies with the changing environment? She is looking for answers and she hopes that her childhood friend, Trevor, has it. There are two complications, namely Bryn is dating a man named Malcolm and Trevor’s mother doesn’t approve of Bryn.
The road to Bryn and Trevor’s HEA is one that is easy to read. I couldn’t put the book down as I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for these two people. The story just flowed so well that before I knew it, it was over!
This book is written in a dual POV format. I so love getting that glimpse of the characters’ thoughts. It really helps me to identify with that character so much better.
I highly recommend this book to anyone. This is a sweet, clean romance between friends. While you don’t have to read the prior story to read this one, I would highly recommend it. It is a great story plus as an added bonus, you get to meet the three ladies of the series, Emily, Bryn and Josie.
You know when characters in a book remind you of people you know, or even yourself? And you just wanna hug ‘em and tell them it will all be okay? That’s the feeling I had when I read Steal My Heart, Trevor.
First and foremost, it is a sweet romance about Bryn Peachum and Trevor Daniels. Bryn is the second of her friends to get a story of her own but it is a standalone. For me, I enjoy visiting with characters I already know so I love reading all the books in an author’s setting. I had some trouble with Bryn’s treatment of her current boyfriend however he wasn’t very attentive to her or her needs either. They were just sort of mismatched. He is a total outdoorsman and she lives to help her baby turtle eggs hatch and have a good life. (Simple explanation but no worries. The author does a great job with the story.) The book opens with Bryn attending a lecture by a very old friend, who also happens to be a marine biologist, newly back in the hometown they both grew up in, looking for some insight to help her turtles. Trevor is a scientist through and through – and a very smart guy – so he leaves her feeling somewhat less, and unsure of herself.
Bryn and Trevor grew up together, becoming fast friends at an early age. But Trevor’s mom always made Bryn feel like she wasn’t good enough to even be friends with Trevor. And Trevor grew up idolizing Bryn’s close family, and Bryn herself. It’s not that Bryn wasn’t smart enough; Trevor’s mother just felt she was from the wrong side of the tracks, as the saying goes. That never crossed Trevor’s mind as he and Bryn were as thick as thieves. Trevor was always super smart, the brainy geek if you will, but he and Bryn were always close. Until Trevor moved away. Again, simple explanation of their backstory but the author tells a much better tale.
Bryn needs to work out her life with her boyfriend and overcome feeling…less. Trevor needs to shore up his self-esteem and go after what he wants. My heart went out to both these characters and I just wanted to hug them tight. And maybe I wanted to shake my ereader every once in a while, so that they would get with the program, but there probably wouldn’t have been such a great book if they had.
As I said when I started, I recognize these characters and just fell in love with them. And Trevor’s twin girls are SO cute, and a handful, that you will want to hug them as well. I really enjoyed this book and loved cheering for the underdogs! And turtles. I was behind the turtles all the way.
This series is engulfing me, I can’t wait for the next one.
The characters are so convincing that they become my friends.
The plot is amazing as it keeps me reading until the end.
I just love this author and every book she writes.
Steal My Heart, Trevor is a sweet friends to lovers romance. Although part of a series it can also be read as a great stand-alone.
Bryn and Trevor were high school best friends with a shared love of science until Bryn moved away. She now runs her flower shop and helps turtles have the best chance of survival. When Trevor, a successful biologist, arrives in town their initial meeting did not go well. A disaster and an offer of help gives these two old friends a chance to reconnect.
Good well rounded characters, an awkward, geeky nerd, turtles and adorable twins all combine to make this a sweet, easy to read romance with a HEA. I definitely recommend it.
Steal My Heart Trevor is the second book in the Best Friends Series by Barbara Lohr. This is a sweet romance that can be read as a standalone but I feel I enjoyed it more after reading the first book in the series Marry Me Jackson,
I enjoy revisiting characters from previous books. I like that this book is written with two point of views. I started reading it and once I did I could not put it down I needed to know what was going to happen. This was a quick, delightful and easy read. I also learned something about Diamond Back Turtles through this well researched story. I recommend this book if you like friends to lovers clean romance books.
Love and turtles
Bryn works with turtles in the Caribbean.
Her friend Trevor, a marine biologist helps her. He’s a single father to twins.
What I liked?
They were friends first. It’s set on Buck Island. Twins and turtles.
What more could you want?
This clean romance grabbed my attention from the very beginning with the good character and storyline development that kept me totally hooked until the turn of the very last page!
Steal My Heart, Trevor is a wonderful, fun, heart warming romance. Ms. Lohr’s characters are always so well done they feel like friends. This book has a hunky nerd, adorable twins, a haughty mother and Bryn’s determination to save as many diamondback turtles as possible. If you like sweet romance with great characters, you will enjoy this book. I could not put it down!
Trevor was such an adorable nerd in this book with all his facts and big words. Bryn was a bit of nerd too, but she put more emotion behind her study of the diamondback turtles and flowers for her garden and flower shop. I loved how he cared about the baby turtles because Bryn cared and how he made her an enclosure to protect them from predators. His twin daughters were adorable, especially precocious Daisy. Her elderly neighbor Nanny, who helped her find turtle eggs, was a riot. Bryn was settling with Malcolm and he seems like a good guy, just not the right guy for her.
This is a sweet, romantic story of friendship lost and love found. A chance meeting with someone Brynn Perchum knew in grade school before her family moved away from Asheboro to Sweetwater Creek. Looks like Trevor will steal her heart along with his twin daughters, Daisy and Annabelle. I liked the characters in the story, especially Brynn, who just wants to find her special someone like her friend, Emily.
Trevor seemed like the perfect match for Brynn when he was not talking in scientific terms. It was also interesting to find out more about Trevor’s mom, Cornelia. She was a little scary. It was also fun to learn about the diamondback turtles that were so dear to Brynn’s heart, just like they were real babies to her. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
A delightfully entertaining read with unforgettable characters who feel like they could be your friends with a beautifully written story that puts you right in the middle of all that’s happening. I felt a connection to Bryn Peachum and admired her devotion to the diamondback sea turtles during their breeding season. I loved the undeniable chemistry, sweet and tender romance with her grade school friend, now professor and marine biologist, Dr. Trevor Daniels. Ms. Lohr knocked me out of the water with their lovely and touching story.
If you want to read a feel-good romance set in beautiful Carolina Lowcountry that will leave a smile on your face and warmth in your heart, don’t miss “Steal My Heart, Trevor”.
Steal My Heart, Trevor gives you all the feels–contentment, just a little bit of envy, heartbreak, adoration for 2 cute little twin girls, fear, friendship, and love. I enjoyed the tight-knit friendship between Emily, Bryn, and Josie; and the dedication of Trevor to raise his daughters. Both Trevor and Bryn are likable characters. I found Bryn’s care for the turtles touching, and as an added bonus, I also learned something about them. There’s a touching HEA and a great epilogue. The plot has some twists and turns and moves along at a good pace. I would definitely read more in this series by Barbara Lohr and would recommend it to family and friends. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this great clean romance.
I really liked Bryn and Trevor, two childhood friends who hadn’t seen each other in years. Trevor is divorced with twin girls, an overbearing mother who only wants the best for him and his overwhelming feelings for Bryn. While Bryn struggles with her current boyfriend who she is comfortable with but not in love, her turtle babies and her blossoming feelings for her old friend. This was a very nice love story. I enjoyed it. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Bryn is all about saving the turtles. She and her neighbor Nanny watch and wait for them to lay eggs so they can protect them from other wild life. Bryn lost her parents to an accident years ago and has no family. She has her best friends Josie and Emily, her boyfriend Malcolm and of course Nanny. Attending an event on the changes in the environment she finds her childhood friend Trevor. They were close as could be in elementary school before she moved. He has changed a lot and she finds herself thinking about him as more than a friend. She invites him over to catch up and shows him her turtle set up. She tells him about Malcolm and she finds out he is divorced with twin girls. His mother never thought she was suited to be even a friend to Trevor much less a girlfriend. So now in between trying to get ready for Emily’s wedding, figure out if Malcolm is really the one for her and Josie asking her questions about the relationship. She has to figure out if Trevor is her future. Barbara always makes these books so enjoyable to read. I received this book as a ARC for my honest review
Steal My Heart Trevor by Barbara Lohr
Best Friends to Forever #2
Clean romance that is set in small town Sweetwater Creek sees childhood friends Trevor Daniels and Bryn Peachum eventually find their HEA.
Bryn and her neighbor have been “saving” turtle eggs, guarding them and then releasing baby turtles in groups for awhile when Trevor gives a lecture to a group in Sweetwater that Bryn attends. At the time Bryn is dating Malcolm and has been for awhile though she is not sure he is the best man for her to spend forever with. Trevor is divorced, has twin daughters and a rather uptight upright mother helping him raise Daisy and Annabelle.
Trevor and Bryn have a fairly easy relationship with a glitch for a couple of weeks but eventually with that taken care of decide they are in love and move on together as seen in the epilogue.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
3-4 Stars
A delightful contemporary romance, this book pushed all the right buttons for me. Despite being lighthearted and witty, the story is tender and obviously well researched. The information given on diamondback turtles is interesting and I love how the information is woven into the plot. Trevor’s reappearance in Bryn’s life sets her off-kilter, as he had not only been her best friend growing up but could have been so much more if it hadn’t been for his uptight mother’s interference. Trevor has had his emotions burnt by his divorce, but his twin daughters bring so much light and love into his life, that whilst he regrets his marriage, his girls are everything he could hope for. The nerdy and somewhat cautious Trevor with his shy sense of humour appeals to me, but Bryn really did reach in and squeeze my heart. This sweet romance is part of series and characters from the previous book appear in this one too, nevertheless, it is a standalone and comes to a delightful and positive conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
