Only us strong ones can dare listen to, and have the balls to stay and bear witness to, the … the balls to stay and bear witness to, the result of irreveocable damages. So tell me, Mavorick, are you one of the strong?”
Maverick, unfortunately, is well aware of Tucker’s meaning. Mav has recently lost his father, his mother is slipping into a depression, and his little sister is in desperate need of a parental figure. But now he’s losing his heart to Tucker’s mysterious sister, Delilah. As Maverick squints into the sun, looking at the beauty standing in front of the lake, he wonders if his heart is crazy for begging him to take on yet another tragedy.

Crazy me! Read the story and you’ll understand!
Oh wow! This story has so much in it and once you start you are hooked. I can’t wait to read book two, Scar Me, and luckily for me it’s already published.
Young adult stories have never really been a favorite genre of mine but this story is totally different, it changes everything I ever thought about the genre. Yes, it delves into post-college live briefly but it is mainly latter high school and college-age. It is written mainly the lead male characters’ points of view but not all at the same time and I have to say it really works.
The backstory of Delilah’s deceased boyfriend, Kenny, intrigues me so much. We are given snippets of information as to what happened in their relationship and to them both but all will be revealed soon I am sure. I love puzzles!
There are quite a few very funny scenes and lots of lighthearted banter, the humorous elements are scattered throughout and yet it is filled with some very serious issues. All are woven into the story well, some stand out as features while others are only whispers. Very cleverly executed.
I am in awe of this author’s writing talent!

This YA novel has some many level of emotions that the characters face. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the next book .
Well damn… I got caught up in India’s book magic. She can spin a story like no other. I can’t thinking , I will wait to start this series until the last book is out but I couldn’t stop my fingers from flipping the first page. I needed to know more about Tucker, V, Lilah, and Maverick.
This story has so much going on. You just had to hold and be able to sift through all the details. Each part of the story has its reason for being. Each moment will either make you laugh, cry, and maybe even rage. The ending to this BOOK… I wanted to throw my kindle. I wanted to throw the damn thing. There were so much left unsaid. I need to know what happens into these characters’ haunted road. Ugh… I’m diving into book two and praying. Just praying.
India did it again!
I loved this story! India never ceases to amaze me with every book I read! Maverick and Delilah are amazing! Like everyone else in the book!! India knows how to touch the soul of its readers!! The story of the book is spectacular!! I can’t wait to read Scar Me!!
This is a story of tragedy, love and healing. Maverick and his family pick up the pieces and move to a different town to attempt to heal. New town, new people but Maverick finds some friends that have their own tragic stories and together they all try to heal. I love how they are all so loving to each other . The story starts with Maverick and as they move thru their lives, we learn about each person. Of course there are some very hot and steamy parts! As your reading you get caught up in each person and almost feel like you are a part of their group. I highly recommend this one
Steal Me was the first book I’ve read from this author. This is the story of two souls struggling with grief after the loss of a loved one. Each one of them in their own way. It was beautiful to watch Maverick breaking through the wall of fear Delilah built around herself. He was patient and loving. He was perfect for her.
I really liked how this story went on up to 60%. Then suddenly the POV changed from Maverick to Tucker. I didn’t understand why it was needed, and I guess that’s what made me lose interest in this book. I read the book to the end and I think Tucker’s point of view was unnecessary. But that’s just my opinion. I’m sure there’ll be people for whom it mattered.
5*
Maverick has been caring for his little sister since the death of his father and his mum no longer coping.
Moving away isn’t so bad when he runs into new friends his life changes.
Delilah isn’t the girl she used to be Tucker is the protective older brother but he doesn’t know the hurt she holds.
This book blew me away I loved all the characters and couldn’t put it down.
A new author for myself and I have already downloaded the next book in the series
