Life has never been kind to Nash. Neither has love. He took a chance on Vivian and she walked away. Now she’s back. Too bad for her because he’s done.Unfortunately for him, his psuedo-mother has other plans for his life, whether he likes it or not, and there’s no telling her no. Caught between a stubborn streak a mile wide and denying Vivian’s siren call to his heart, Nash has to decide if he’s … decide if he’s going to close himself off from love for good or give in to one last chance at happiness. What will happen when stubborn heads collide and hearts refuse to be ignored?

This duet, for me, shows the sweeter side of J.C. Valentine’s writing. If you are looking for one of her erotic romances this duet isn’t where you’ll find it, but if you are looking for a sweet romance with a little spice then this is right up your alley.
Staying Home is a wonderful story about paving the road for a second chance with the help of a nosy old biddy, Nash’s second Mom, named Gretta whom I absolutely adored. Gretta was the star of both books for me there was just something about her that really hit home and she really stole my heart. Nash is one stubborn cowboy but Ms Gretta knew how to handle him, she played him like a violin! Vivian and Nash are really great together. They have a great chemistry not only in bed but out of it as well, you could really feel the affection they felt towards one another even when they were broken up.
Nash and Vivian’s story must be read in order, in the first book the two of them meet for the first time and a whole slew of things happen which bring us to this book which is their second chance. If you enjoy cowboys and city girls, or opposites attract then Nash and Vivian are the couple for you. Happy Reading!!!
**I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine’s Obsessed with Books**
Nash MacArthur and Vivian Parish find themselves once again at the mercy of Ms Gretta and her matchmaking. This time around Vivian finds herself unhappy with her life after leaving the ranch to return to the city to settle her divorce, and takes to the road again trying to find a place to call home. Ms Gretta still keeps contact with Vivian and keeps asking when is she coming home. Vivian now believes that Gretta is her home and she will fight for Nash. Nash learns of Viv’s return and is being stubborn and determined to keep her at arms length as his heart must be protected at all cost. Gretta pushes Nash to open up when that doesn’t work, her matchmaking skills are once again alive and upto showing them what they risk by being stubborn, this time by setting up a date for Vivian and Harold (a man Nash doesn’t like) Gretta takes many medical setbacks and when her health declines Nash and Vivian turn to each other. This has so many emotional turns that left a heartache as the story continues it explores many sad and happy memories and a bright future. I highly recommend this series.
This book is the conclusion of Vivian and Nash’s story. My heart broke for both of them for very different reasons. Nash felt that Vivian lied by omission and then took off, whilst Vivian just wanted to get all of her past taken care of and then explain to Nash. Ms. Greta was the glue that downed them together but then tragedy strikes for her. Will they be able to leave the past in the past and move on? What will they do when the matriarch of the “family” is no longer there?
What a conclusion to Nash and Vivian’s story!!! This book gave me all of the feels that a good book should give.
Nash and Vivian didn’t leave on good terms and Nash is having a really hard time getting over this fact. So, will he be able to get over himself and move on to get his happily ever after or will he continue to keep everyone at arms length and remain alone.
Vivian is finally free to do as she feels. She knows she made a mistake with how she left and is trying to do everything she can to make up for it. However, she is only willing to go so far. Will she be able to show/tell Nash that she is truly sorry or will him pushing her away push her into the arms of another?
Ms. Gretta is still the life of this book with her antics. She also knows what she sees and will do all she can to make others see and believe it as well.
Overall this book was full of every emotion from love to hate/pissed off. I can’t wait to see what JC comes up with next.
Staying Home picks up right where we left off in Finding Home. Nash is stubborn and not ready to hear Vivian’s excuses. Who could blame him? His pride and trust of her has been broken. Vivian is back and just wanting a chance to explain. But will Nash come around to let her explain?
Gretta is in full blown character in making sure these two get the opportunity to talk. She makes this whole story. I loved her mottling and sticking her nose in everyone’s business. I cried from laughing so hard and I cried for an entirely other reason.
Pick up Nash & Vivian’s story but be sure to start from the beginning. Staying Home is a great conclusion to this sexy cowboy story.
