Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never even met?Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch–an anonymous virtual assistant service–is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.Although it’s against the rules for her to check his file, she’s 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded … every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting…until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.
Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He’s still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth–that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won’t show her pretty face.
But it’s nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can’t fix. Hailey can’t resist the offer. Matt can’t resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn’t have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

I love this author combo!! I’m begging them to write another book! Jess and Blake were everything I wanted!
Last year I stumbled on author Elle Kennedy due to another buddy read with We Be Book’N. I read the first couple pages of the book in the buddy read and I was hooked. More recently I discovered Sarina Bowen, and just like with Elle, I was hooked!!!
I loved the story of Hailey and Matt. While Elle and Sarina write romance novels, there are so much more to their books than romance. Elle and Sarina are both geniuses when it comes to character development and ever character they write about make the story what it is. Sarina and Elle touch on all parts of relationships…the good, the bad, the heartbreaks, the makeups, and everything in between. They make you wish you were in a relationship with the characters in the book (especially the hockey players…I mean who can resist a hockey player). I can’t tell you enough how good at writing these authors are, other than to say I generally start a book and am so hooked that I finish the book the day I started it! There will be many more books by Sarina and Elle in my future and there should be books by these two in your future too!!!
Right from the moment I started reading Stay, I knew that I was going to love it! Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen are such a dynamic duo and Stay was just as good as Good Boy (WAG #1).
The interactions between Hailey and Matt aka HTE (hottie) and Sniper were so funny!! I loved their meet-cute and how their relationship slowly developed. Hailey and Matt were both weary of starting a new relationship after both of their first marriages ending in divorce. I loved how patient they were with each other and the level of communication between the two was refreshing.
I also really enjoyed the history that Matt and Hailey had with their respective exes. They were both tied to them in one way or another and it was a learning experience for everyone involved on how to navigate this change in their lives.
I really can’t say enough about how much I loved this book. If you’re looking for a sweet, funny, steamy, hockey themed romance then run to pick up a copy of Stay. I’m really hoping that we get another WAG book soon!
Stay is my new favorite Bowen/Kennedy novel. I’m going to be honest that I was hooked after reading the following from the novel’s description:
Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.
Hailey Taylor Emery is the co-creator of Fetch, a virtual assistant service, and she has it bad for one of her anonymous clients. Said client happens to be NHL player, Matt Eriksson, who also has a bit of a crush on the woman who always helps him. A note, plus a couple of hockey tickets later, and these two finally come face-to-face, and explore whether or not their chemistry has what it takes to go the distance.
I thought this novel was entertaining, sexy, funny, and well-plotted. Hailey and Matt are compelling individually and collectively, and it’s fun to see characters from previous Bowen/Kennedy novels pop in for some great supporting roles. There’s no huge conflict that rips the heroine and hero apart, and there’s minimal angst. A great go-to if you’re looking for a fun, light read, with a healthy dose of abs.
Laugh out loud funny – I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Hailey runs a company called Fetch, in which she and her employees literally can “fetch” whatever is needed for their clients. She personally handles the big clients and is pretty sure she is fetching for non other than Matt Erikkson, her all time favorite hockey player. They start trading texts that set off butterflies, then eventually meet. Hailey is so tongue tied around her idol – until she eventually finds better ways to use her tongue.
I love when Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy write together! This book did not disappoint!
I love a good hockey book. I love a good single dad book. Combine the two and I’m in heaven! And Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy had some major mojo going on when writing Matt and Hailey’s story! You can’t help but fall for Matt- a hot alpha, who is caring, understanding, and not a man-whore. He is struggling with accepting his role in his failed marriage, and meets Hailey (aka HTE, or HotTiE), who also is recently divorced. They are drawn together and it is magical!
The writing was superb, the characters were realistic, and the plot kept me super interested. Overall, this is a hit!!
I loved this book 🙂 omg it was so freaking awesome ! the Warring on the back on the book “Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries” is 100% accurate!!!
I freaking love Hailey ,she is such an awesome character ,omg i total get the stammer she gets anytime she is around Matt ! (i would be the same way) but the more she gets to know him the more comfortable she is with him and omg does she get comfortable with him if you catch my drift (wink wink) hot sex with an super hot hockey player who is an amazing guy and father ! what more could you want in a man ! i loved how they first end up meeting ,loved the little chats they had and how they both open up with one another ,the way she shows him that he isn’t worst boyfriend because he has other commitments and can’t be there all the time ,she’s understanding and yeah it sucks that they don’t get to spend more time together but its worth it because of how much they love each other 🙂 i loved everything about them.
Holy Shit Matt Eriksson is male perfection ! whew i think i need a cold shower because this book was so freaking steamy ! Matt’s first meeting with Hailey is so cute and i loved how he tricks her into having dinner with him 🙂 it was great ,they make an awesome couple and i loved that he was able to see that his marriage to his ex wasn’t just his fault ,they both played a part and the fact that Hailey is just as scared to start a relationship but they both push past that is awesome ,i loved seeing him with his 2 daughters ,omg he is such a good father 🙂 and i loved that he was up front with Hailey about how he can’t be there all the time, he thinks he is a shit boyfriend but its totally the opposite ,he’s sweet and funny and he makes time for her ,he is totally the best kind of man 🙂
and boy does he know how to heat up the sheets (fanning self ) steamy then a locker room full on hot dudes 🙂
Loved this book ,i love this series ,its amazing and funny and sweet and so freaking hot you won’t want to put it down ! I love both Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen and i can’t wait to see what they come up with next 🙂
“He’s already one up on me. He’s been on the receiving end of a couple of Hottie’s kisses.
I’ve got nothing. It’s the first time I’ve ever been jealous of my dog.”
After Good Boy book one in the WAGs series I knew we were in for a treat with Matt Eriksson’s story, and it did not disappoint!!
Hailey Taylor Emery has the feeling that one of her favorite clients is hockey star Matt Eriksson. Hailey has had a crush on him for years and as the boss of the company she could see if it is for sure him, but she won’t do that. One one hand it is unethical and on the other hand she doesn’t want to get her hopes up if he isn’t who she thinks he is. When she is asked last minute to walk her favorite client’s dog, she can’t help but say yes and as their flirting becomes more than just friendly banter Hailey soon realizes that her favorite client is indeed Matt Eriksson.
Matt is no stranger to having his heart stomped on. HIs wife left him, he hardly gets to see his children with his schedule and on top of all that the only woman that has held his interest since he left his wife he has never met. After his original plan fails Matt sends two tickets to his crush and he just has to wait and see if she shows, hint she does!!
As Matt & Hailey start to navigate this new relationship that could be either fun or real both are left with the feeling that it is almost too good to be true. Neither one of them have been divorced for too long and Matt is afraid of failing Hailey like he did with his wife but as secrets are revealed maybe Matt wasn’t the only one in the wrong with his ex.
The audio man, whew!! Jacob Morgan, that is all. Just that. OK, maybe that’s not it. I have never listened to Lucy Rivers narration before, but she was brilliant! She had a beautiful fun way with her voice but also a professionalism about it when her character was dealing with business which I really liked.
This story was just sweet, hot FUN!! Matt was so much more than I gave his credit for originally so that is a win in my book. Hailey is unlike the other characters that we have seen for the other WAGs and that just made me love her more. Even though it wasn’t said I do hope we haven’t seen the last of the WAGs and that we get the new guy’s story!!
I loved this book so much! Hockey romances will always be my favorite. We had gotten a teaser about Matt Erickkson in the first book in the series and I’m so glad his story was next.
Matt is the star forward for the team who just went through a terrible divorce. To help rebuild his life, he used an online assistant service, Fetch. Fetch is own by Hailey and she had been taking care of his account even though she didn’t who he was since his account was anonymous. After she helps with an emergency, the two end of meeting. There is an instant attraction between the two and friendship followed by a relationship follows.
Matt is a hockey dream. A top player, a guy who donates his seats to charity, a great father and hot AF. I loved his personality and how sweet he is with Hailey. Hailey is also recently divorced and is just now getting back into the dating pool. I love that Hailey is a business owner and was kicking butt at it. Growing a business is not easy, especially when you run it with your ex. We get appearances from all of my favorites: Wesmie, Blake, and Jessica. The WAGs are awesome as well.
The audiobook version is great. You can never go wrong with Jacob Morgan. He’s one of my favorites and never disappoints. I’ve only listened to a few books narrated by Lucy Rivers and shes’s amazing as well. I will definitely look for more books narrated by her.
I enjoyed this. Mostly because it’s a sports(ish) romance written by two of the icons of the genre. Not gonna lie, most if not all of the issues in this book, Hailey’s divorce and her potential buyout from her rich person outsourcing job, Matt’s divorce and his overbearing ex wife, and the baggage both drama creates in the burgeoning relationship between Matt and Hailey could have been resolved by TALKING. That said, I did find this to be a quick read but I feel like I would have given it a much higher rating if I had read it closer to reading book 1 in this series and not waiting literal years later. Matt is a pretty awesome hero though, all things considered. And Hailey is a baddie.
I need more WAGS books! I love this single parent hockey romance.
Matt is a hockey star single parent with a tumultuous relationship with his ex wife. Hayley is a rabid hockey fan and entrepreneur who owns a company with her ex husband.
I loved seeing the dynamics between the main characters and their respective exes. They both have insecurities there but both relationships are very different.
Hayley and Matt have such great back and forth banter. And I liked that their relationship began as messaging before they even met.
As usual with this writing duo the steam level was perfect and the humor was plentiful.
Loved being able to read about the couples from previous books. And I felt like we really got to know Katie and Estrella (the original WAGS) so much better.
But I am definitely going to want a book for Lemming and for O’Connor.
Jacob Morgan and Lucy Rivers are a great duo for the narration. Loved them.
A cute story about second chances, forgiveness, finding your true other half and hope. You will swoon and fall in love with both characters!

Throughout HIM, US, and Good Boy, Matt Ericsson is struggling at first with his wife leaving and now he has to learn how to navigate the world as an NHL hockey player, dog owner, and co-parent.
Fetch, a concierge service, has been there for Sniper87 for the last 18 months. They have helped him furnish his apartment, gave advice on beds for his girls, and pretty much “fetched” everything he needs to navigate his new life. Hailey, or HTE has been instrumental in Sniper87 staying on his feet. She took Sniper87 on personally, yes, it is odd for the co-owner to do the day to day fetching but she has a suspicion that this is Matt Ericsson, and she has had a crush on him for years!
Hailey, co-owner of Fetch (her ex is the other owner), divorcee who married the boy next door and has never been on a real date, is an AVID over the top Hockey fan and has been crushing on Matt for years! She is adorable!
Matt, co-parent, recent divorcee, sour on relationships because who could love a guy that is on the road or not reliable all the time?
One day, he finds out his dog walker has been snooping around in his house, so he calls Fetch. Who do you think will start walking the dog? Hailey or HTE as she is known on the Fetch app, or Hottie as she is known to Matt Ericsson.
Matt and Hailey’s story is funny, heartbreaking, and full of hope and all our favorite characters are there to help Matt and Hailey along. Blake, the WAGs, Wesmie, and Jess. Stay, is a delightful book. And let me tell you how many conspiracy theories I had in my head IRT to the NSFW pictures Fetch was receiving.
Now I am off to read the final book, EPIC and close out this fantastic series that I am KICKING myself for not reading sooner! This is one of now one of my favorite series and I have found two new authors to stalk and love! If you haven’t read this…pick up this series!

Stay was the second book in the WAGs series by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy.
Hailey Taylor Emory was the co-owner of Fetch. She was beautiful, smart, independent and feisty. And a massive hockey fan. She was recently divorced from her business partner, who also happened to be her best friend since she was six. Her passion and time were currently directed at her company.
Matt Eriksson was the gorgeous NHL player who was also a divorced dad and had personally experienced the impossibility of having a family in the NHL. His passion and love was hockey and his twin daughters. His ex-wife ruined him for relationships and he never thought he would consider anything long term.
As a professional hockey player who spent enormous amounts of time on the road, Matt utilized Fetch to get things taken care of at home that he wouldn’t be able to otherwise. And as a confidential client, Hailey handled all of the requests for “Sniper87” who she quickly came to suspect was the Toronto Star forward, Matt. They became friends through Fetch communication until it then spilled over into their personal lives when they finally met.
The authors took us through the relationship development while also battling the scars left behind from their respective divorces. It was well developed with only a few editing errors. Additionally, the supporting cast of characters from the team family were prominent in the storyline, adding depth.
All in all, it was entertaining and enjoyable. The next book hasn’t been announced, but apparently O’Connor has a story to tell that’s promising.
This story was unique for sure. Ex-wife/baby mama drama and yet through it all he found his way to a woman who deserved love as much as he did AND understood his job AND supported him in his job.
This book was narrated by Jacob Morgan and Lucy Rivers. JM is an all time favorite. LR is not on in my top faves voice wise but she is quite talented at telling a story.
Oooh! I loved this one! Elle Kennedy & Sarina Bowen have done it yet again! I NEED to know if/when the next WAGs book is coming out. I love all these characters, and am dying to find out what’s happening with O’Connor. Top marks all around for making me laugh out loud, wish Fetch was real, and think having twins might potentially be a good idea. Until the next one….
I liked Matt, and loved that he was such a good father. He was genuinely good person putting up with his ex-wife the way he did. His kids were cute.
I liked Hailey too. I didn’t understand why her character was written like she had never seen a man before. I could even understand her being a fan girl for a minute, but she acted like a bit of a blathering idiot when Matt was around at the beginning. That completely took her out of the role of professional business woman.
I thought they had great chemistry and a sweet romance. I was glad when his ex was finally confronted, but I was surprised about Bailey’s part in it. I also like that the WAGs were so accepting and supportive of Hailey.
Overall a pretty entertaining listen.
My love for single dads was absolutely not tarnished by Matt Eriksson. This book is even better than the first one and the love story more “mature”.
I absolutely adored the atmosphere of Fetch, Hailey’s virtual assistant company, and all the first exchanges between them when the relationship was still professional. Matt is still broken after his divorce and has now only limited time with his girls, but gosh did I love the scenes of the four of them, I always melt when I read about how good a dad a character is. We also get two different views of a divorce with Hailey who actually stayed friend with her first husband.
Again a great hockey romance book!
THE WAGS ARE THE !!!
I can’t wait for more from this series and these deliciously ripped hockey studs!!!!
This installment with Matt was to die!!!!
So freakin sweet… a gush fest delight!
Floved as always by this author.
Loved this book! Listened to the Audible Audiobook. The characters were phenomenal! Narration was amazing! Sarina and Elle scored a goal during the first minute of play. Matt is dealing with a surly ex-wife who doesn’t let him see his kids as much as he would like. Hailey owns and runs a personal assistant business with her ex-husband. The nicknames they used for each other were so much fun! I so hope there will be a WAGs #3!
