From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes the final poignant standalone love story in the Arrowood Brothers Series. Hollywood taught me everything I know about relationships—except how to be in one. As an actor, I became an expert at faking it. Faking that I wasn’t affected by my childhood. Faking that I was okay. Faking that I knew how to save the day, the girl, the whole … the whole damn world.
But I’ve always known the truth—I’m no one’s hero.
Until I’m forced to move back to Sugarloaf for six months, and Brenna Allen offers me a chance to prove otherwise. She’s everything I never knew I wanted, but can’t have. Her broken heart, perfect face, and adorable children turn my world upside down. Instead of preparing for my next leading role, I’m directing a middle school play for this small-town single mother.
All to make her smile.
The more time I spend here, the more I want to stay. Build a life in this town that I swore I’d leave—for her.
But when the world comes crashing down around us, I’m forced to decide if staying for her is the right choice or if leaving is better for the woman I love.

I loved book 3 of this series the most. Until I got to book 4! I loved Jacob and Brenna, I loved everything about their love story. The emotion was so real, and their reactions to what life threw at them were believable. It really was the sweetest love story. There’s a link at the end of the book for a bonus epilogue, and I totally recommend you getting to it. It was the perfect wrap up to a really sweet series overall.
This is an honest review for an arc received.
“What’s one truth about an arrow?”
Brenna Allen is a widow and mother to two teenagers. She just moved into Sugarloaf in order to give herself and her children a fresh start. What she doesn’t expect is the attraction she feels when she meets Jacob Arrowood and gets to know him. She battles not only her feelings but her hurt. Is she strong enough to open herself up to someone again? How do you know when it’s right to move on?
“Removing half the feather will create the curve and alter its course.”
Jacob Arrowood has come back to Sugarloaf as determined by his father’s will. He’s determined to do his time in the one place he never wanted to come back to. When asked by his family to meet a young boy grieving the loss of his father, what he never expected was to meet someone and fall in love. A friendship between him and Brenna’s son develops as does his feelings towards her and her daughter as well. Will Jacob stay? Does he want to subject Brenna and her kids to the ruthless media?
“No matter how many times you pull that bow back, if you keep focus and keep aiming, your arrow will go exactly where it should.”
5 EPIC stars!!! I’ve been lucky enough to arc every single book in this series. Corinne Michaels doesn’t disappoint. This was the perfect ending for such an amazing series. Jacob and Brenna epitomize everything about love and loss, perseverance through adversity, and hope over heartache. Their story is one for the ages. Even though each book is a stand alone, I highly recommend reading each of these books.
Being an actor, Jacob Arrowood is used to being in the spotlight and faking his way through his day. Recently widowed, Brenna, the single mother of two young children has moved away from the military life and has settled in a slower paced environment. But the wrong address and a casserole that needs to be delivered has Jacob and Brenna meeting things will never be the same. But can the actor walk away from Hollywood in order to settle down in the small town he fought to leave? Or will Brenna’s heart be broken when he walks away? Highly emotional and a book you will not want to end, this was another masterpiece from Corinne Michaels. In her usual style the reader will instantly fall in love with Brenna and Jacob and only want them to get their HEA – but beware – in the process she will rip your heart to shreds and you will need a box of Kleenex by your side.
“Removing half the feather will create the curve and alter its course.”
Wow, what a way to end this series about four lost brothers reluctantly returning home and finally finding peace there.
It is Jacob Arrowood’s turn to do his six-month stint in his hometown of Sugarloaf as a stipulation of his father’s will. He is leaving Hollywood and not too thrilled about his stay in a tiny house on his brother’s property in a town he left and never planned on living in again…but he will do it for his brothers. They have all come home and found love, happiness, and restarted their lives. But Jacob thinks he is happy being single and living life on the big screen playing a hero…but he knows he could never be one in real life. Their father did such a good job ruining their self-worth that they have all believed they do not deserve love or happiness. But his charm, good looks, and big heart mask his inner demons.
Brenna Allen is new to town and she knows loss. She is a military widow and single mom just trying to start a new life. An innocent favor for her son to meet his superhero sets Jacob and Brenna on a crash course neither saw coming. She is a psychologist and tries to maintain a semblance of order and control for her children. Jacob kind of shakes up her world and makes it fun to let go.
They try to deny their attraction. There are so many reasons they should not pursue it. She is still grieving and finding her feet, and has no plans to move again. She also has her kids to think about. He is just in town for six months and plans to return to Hollywood for his career. But these two just cannot seem to resist. And they believe that it is worth letting go of the fear just to have a few months of something great even as they think they can hide it.
But as things become more involved, they will both have to decide if the other is worth the risk. And if they do forge ahead, they will have some significant challenges to overcome.
This is an emotional, heartfelt, single mom, and movie star romance. It brings some surprises and difficult moments. There were some things I did not see coming and had me on the edge of my seat. I adored Jacob. He was such a protector and so afraid of hurting her, her kids, or himself. And he never felt he deserved to have true love. And Brenna had so much to lose…again…but could not keep heart closed off to him. But she seems destined to always be the one left behind. I also loved her kids, Melanie and Sebastian, and how much a part of the story they were.
All of the Arrowood brothers and their significant others and children are back bringing the humor, support, and family ribbing. It is inspiring despite their tragic history that they have all come home to find their true place, contentment, and happiness. It also has some fun cameos from other books that made me smile. The additional epilogue ties up this series so well and just left my heart so full of love for this crew. I will miss them! But I am intrigued by the side character that will be the start of a spin-off series.
5 stars! Although I am sad this this the last book in the series (they are all standalone s that are interconnected), I was really looking forward to Jacob’s story. He is a famous Hollywood actor and it is now his turn come back to Sugarloaf. When he meets Brenna, she takes his breath away. Brenna has been struggling since her husband was killed in a plane crash. She has been going through the motions and trying to stay strong for her kids. She isn’t sure what to think when Jacob, this gorgeous famous actor, says he takes him fishing and then volunteers to direct her son’s play. This is a fantastic love story of how Jacob mends Brenna’s heart and how she shows him he does deserves to be loved. Of course, in true Corinne Michaels’ fashion there has to be emotional angst thrown in, but it is worth it in the end. This book is definitely worth the read so go get it now!
Corinne Michaels has saved the best for last in the Arrowood Brothers series. Jacob is the best book boyfriend you could ask for. A hot hero, action movie actor with a soft spot for the new single mom in town. He and Brenna just click from the beginning and you find yourself rooting for them the entire book. In true Michaels fashion, she has to break your heart in two, but she is the master at putting it back together again. This book can be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and pick up the first three and you won’t be disappointed.
Oh, my God!! Stay for Me has become my favorite book in the Arrowood Brothers’ series! There was always something about Jacob that was appealing from what we found out about him in the first three books, but he absolutely blew me away! Throw in a single parent, and I’m hooked!
Jacob returns to Sugarloaf to spend his six months on the family land before he leaves to go back to LA and his acting career. Brenna has just moved to Sugarloaf with her two pre-teen children after her husband died. Jacob finds himself attracted to Brenna, despite the fact that he can’t stay. And Brenna can’t resist Jacob with all of his kindness and selflessness.
I absolutely loved these characters~ Jacob was just such a perfect specimen of man, with his huge heart, loving nature, giving spirit. And hello, he’s hot too! Brenna is just trying to keep herself together most days, while supporting her children and a new job at the school. I loved the maturity that the kids- Melanie and Sebastian- had, especially when it came to their mom. They felt her support, and in turn, supported her.
I can’t wait for any bonus scenes with this group! They are some of my favorites!
Best was saved for last! I loved Jacob and Brenna’s story. The passion they share is just great! Mix in the sweet and caring side of Jacob with Brenna’s kids and oh my heart. Neither of them thought they would feel love like this and it is unexpectedly beautiful. Sad to have the Arrowood Brothers series come to an end but it was an amazing journey. Loved every minute and I would highly recommend this book!!
Stay For Me is a story full of grief, sadness and love. Jacob and Brenna’s story is perfect, though Jacob is a Hollywood star he isn’t cocky or a jerk. Jacob’s character is sweet, compassionate, patient and so loving to Brenna and her kids. He’s able to relate to Brenna’s kids Sebastian and Melanie a while they’re grieving fir their dad, Jacob also loss a parent at a young age. Speaking of Brenna’s kids, Sebastian and Melanie are the kind of kids every parent wish for. They always put their mom’s welfare and happiness first. This book is beautiful, I enjoy reading it the whole series is beautiful.
So I admit, I listened to the audiobook and it was absolutely wonderful.
I only wish that I could give this book more than 5 because it surely deserves more.
It’s a wonderful story of a family’s loss, healing, heartbreak, and finding that one true love that you know you can’t live without.
This is most definitely my FAVORITE book of 2020 and probably of all the time I’ve been a reader.
WOW! So much emotion and that was the first 2 chapters. A couple of times throughout the book I was so close to tears. Towards the end of the book, I even wondered if her first husband hadn’t died so tragically, would they have stayed married. It’s as if he loved being a pilot more than commitments to his family. Hard to tell, but that’s what I got by reading between the lines. Jacob was so romantic and was not intending on falling in love. He had such a big kind heart with taking on the play at the local school and the attention he was showing her son. Mixed signals…another aircraft crash…wonderful character development in that she became stronger as time went on and that she could overcome his not wanting to subject her to the life that would come with being a famous actor’s girlfriend. Very tastefully done and romantic.
“From the ashes always comes life. You and I are both burning the past so we can start something new and beautiful.”
What’s one truth about an Arrowood? It’s impossible not to fall in love with them! This series has come to a definite bittersweet end and I am so sad to see the brothers go, but Stay for Me was the absolute perfect ending to this series. There were so many emotions it was hard to keep track of them. There was more humor in this book than the others and I was so there for it. It was absolutely perfect and fit really well between all the characters. I loved the reappearance of the brothers, their wives and children and the family dynamic that brought to the story. The love is so incredibly strong throughout the entire book, and there’s no shortage of steaminess and angst! Jacob and Brenna are so perfect for each other and I loved them from the beginning. The TWIST!! I was definitely not prepared for that…my heart was in my throat, eyes scanning the pages to find out what happened next. Oh and that bonus scene warmed my heart so much. I truly loved this book and series and can’t wait to see what is in store next for CM!
Arc generously provided in exchange for an honest review.
I just love the bound between everyone. I love that even though they fell in love, they still talked about everything. Family first.
This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Stay for Me is a stunning and captivating love story. This romance is powerfully moving, beautifully inspiring, emotionally raw, and breathtakingly romantic. An unforgettable masterpiece delivered with so much heart and soul that I fell deeper in love with the characters and their journey with each turn of the page. Jacob and Brenna have an intense connection, incredible chemistry, and undeniable attraction. I loved the push and the pull. These two are magical together. The storyline is incredibly well-written and was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I could feel everything the characters experienced; the emotions radiated from the pages. I laughed, cried so many tears (happy and sad), felt the butterflies, the heart palpitations, every ounce of pain and all the joy. The heartfelt moments stole my breath and the heartbreaking ones shattered my heart. Oh, and those swoon-worthy moments – absolutely breathtaking! A powerful and poignant story of love, faith and taking chances that I didn’t want to end. The unconditional love and support of family and friends is beyond words. The wisdom interlaced throughout was inspiring. I absolutely loved every second of this epic love story and have a new all-time favorite. Stay for Me left a mark on my heart and soul. I’m truly in awe of this story and I would give it 10 stars if I could! I highly recommend reading this book as well as the other books in this interconnected series!!!
I loved each and every one of these Arrowood Brothers books. They are absolutely mesmerizing, and Stay for Me is a perfect finale to the series. The Arrowood men didn’t have it easy growing up, but they all turned out to be swoony, loving, amazing men in their own right.
Jacob is an actor, and the last of the brothers to come home and spend his time on the family farm, as required to inherit. And just like his brothers, that plan goes out the window when love hits him square in the face in Sugarloaf.
Brenna is a widowed mother of two, and the last thing she needs is new relationship. But her connection to Jacob is undeniable. Their chemistry is off the charts, and they can both help heal the wounds that hold them back.
Corinne has created a beautiful romance that entwines friendship, family and heart. So sad to see this series come to an end.
I love this steamy, emotional series! As a wife to someone in the fire service, I could relate to our heroine as she tries to find her way after her husband dies while on duty as a navy pilot. She got so many details of navy wife correct, plus the grief she suffers. But I loved how she was moving on with her life and how her husband’s death wasn’t weighing her down. I also loved Jacob and how he’s learned to cope with his past yet is still hiding baggage – baggage he’s willing to work through for Brenna.
Though I loved the swoony, emotional ride, there were a few details of the twist that just didn’t feel realistic. Planes don’t fall out of the sky if one engine fails. They also don’t burst into flames even if fuel is leaking from it. And if you survive a plane crash, never leave the crash site. Otherwise your rescue team will have difficulty locating you. This is common sense yet all of the characters, including the pilots, seemed to ignore it. And having the plane crash in the first place in order to twist the knife of the climax felt a little too over the top. The fact that they’d had such a horrible fight and he had to be gone was intense enough and could have been strengthened.
I’m a total fan of this author and her stories so these won’t keep me from reading her work. There’s so much to love in this series. Small town dynamics, a tight-knit family saga, and sigh-worthy happy ever afters, plus beautiful nature and great characters.
FIVE BITTERSWEET STARS for Brenna and Jacob !!!
Although I have been looking forward to this book, I have to admit how sorry I am to have come to the end of another series that has touched my heart.
“Stay for Me” is a contemporary romance with small-town and single mum tropes that will melt your heart but also make you laugh.
Brenna is a strong female character who takes care of her two children alone after her husband died one year ago.
To make life easier for the children, she returns to her husband’s hometown where she meets Jacob, and her life changes forever.
Jacob is a male character who is an actor and unlike the other brothers, he has no intention of staying longer than six months in his hometown Sugarloaf because his life is in Hollywood.
But everything changes when he meets Brenna.
Brenna and Jacob’s relationship has been special from the very beginning of the book, and the chemistry between them grows more and more with each page.
If you’re looking for a contemporary romance and you also love Corinne’s writing style, then this is the book for you!!!
Highly recommended!!!
Jacob is the last of the Arrowood brothers to find love. He knows it isn’t for him, as life with a Hollywood star usually ends in divorce. He also doesn’t plan on staying in Sugarloaf a day longer than he has to. Widower and now single mother, Brenna is settling in Sugarloaf to be near her in-laws and to give her children a fresh start. She never expected to have feelings for anyone again so soon, but even knowing he could never stay and that she could never go, she couldn’t resist Jacob Arrowood.
But their friendship and no-strings romance turns into so much more for both of them. It’s unexpected and they both know they can’t walk away without taking a chance on love. But, can it survive the spotlight of the paparazzi?
Brenna is so strong. She’s a military wife and widow and now a single mom. I adored how she keeps it real with her children, always sharing her emotions with them. Melanie is a teen wise beyond her years and Sebastian is a middle schooler trying to fit in and find his place while missing his dad. It’s a family struggling and trying to find their new normal, and they were perfectly imperfect.
Jacob is so sweet and honest. He’s terrified of making a promise and breaking the heart of not only Brenna, but her children as well. Everything he does is with thought and purpose for trying to make them happy. Fishing with Sebastian. Flowers for Melanie. Directing the middle school play. He also plans amazing and thoughtful dates and finds ways of making Brenna feel like she is the center of his universe.
But when Hollywood calls and Brenna is left behind once again everything changes. And, I loved this too . . .because life isn’t easy!
I have so much love for this book and for the entire series! I adored the premise that their mother gave each brother having his truth about an arrow to guide them and that they all found women who made them feel they were worthy of being loved again.
Stay for Me was a beautiful story and a fabulous ending to this amazing series. 5 stars!
There is just something about the Arrowood brothers that will make you love them a lot more. One thing about Corinne Michaels is she sure saved the best for last and boy Jacob is all yummy. He may be the youngest of this sexy band of brothers but he is the one that loves the most. We have not just a single widow but a mother who is well trying to be strong when at times it is hard to move on. Then we have a man like Jacob making you question everything from feeling pretty, desired to wanting to be in love again can be mind boggling. Corinne Michaels sure had me going for a minute with Jacob seeing what he will do, where will he go and most of all what will he sacrifice for happiness. This series sure is a favorite of mine and really hope there is more of Sugarloaf. Loved it.
