From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes the final poignant standalone love story in the Arrowood Brothers Series. Hollywood taught me everything I know about relationships—except how to be in one. As an actor, I became an expert at faking it. Faking that I wasn’t affected by my childhood. Faking that I was okay. Faking that I knew how to save the day, the girl, the whole … the whole damn world.
But I’ve always known the truth—I’m no one’s hero.
Until I’m forced to move back to Sugarloaf for six months, and Brenna Allen offers me a chance to prove otherwise. She’s everything I never knew I wanted, but can’t have. Her broken heart, perfect face, and adorable children turn my world upside down. Instead of preparing for my next leading role, I’m directing a middle school play for this small-town single mother.
All to make her smile.
The more time I spend here, the more I want to stay. Build a life in this town that I swore I’d leave—for her.
But when the world comes crashing down around us, I’m forced to decide if staying for her is the right choice or if leaving is better for the woman I love.

When Corinne said she saved the best for last…she was not lying!!! Jacob Arrowood was the epitome of perfection!! Sweet, kind, handsome, flirty, and great with kids!!! How could Brenna not fall for him?!?! I did and I know he’s not real!!! This story, so much of it could be very real and logical. I loved that aspect of it. My heart hurt for Brenna and her family. My heart soared with how amazing Jacob was to them all!! I loved the dynamic with all the brothers and sisters on laws. The last half of the book was completely unexpected and epic!! This was the most perfect conclusion to the Arrowood series!!!
Sigh. I was kind of dreading the Arrowood Brothers series coming to an end, because I have enjoyed this family so much! But Corinne Michaels did a great job with the final installment, Stay For Me! This time, it’s Hollywood action hero Jacob’s turn to spend his 6 months on the family farm in Sugarloaf, PA… He’s planning to do his time and then leave… He never expected to fall for the redheaded widow living in the house adjoining their property.
I loved everything about Jacob and Brenna’s story. I loved the slow burn between them. I loved how patient and sweet Jacob was not only with Brenna as she struggled in moving on after her husband’s death, but in how he interacted with her kids Sebastian and Melanie. (I could just imagine how excited those middle schoolers were to have an action star directing their performance of Grease!) I loved how open and honest they were with one another about where they were each coming from: She’d been second-best to her late husband’s career, he had a high-demand job that constantly kept him in the spotlight and he didn’t want to bring a romantic relationship into that. I loved how they both decided that the other was worth the risk… and I loved the fight that they had before tragedy strikes. It was raw, it was emotional, and it hit them both hard… and the words spoken in anger as well as those that went unsaid weighed heavily on both Jacob and Brenna in the aftermath. Is almost losing what they found in one another enough to make Jacob want to stay in Sugarloaf?
The conclusion of this series was all that I hoped it would be. It was swoony, sweet, and had a wonderful HEA for all of the brothers. And I loved the cameos by Eli Walsh and Noah Frazier from Corinne’s Second Time Around series!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Stay for Me has heart and soul written all over it from the inside out! From the heartache to the raw emotion you are left feeling, this book will have you falling for it!! Corrine Michaels stole my heart when she started this series. I fell for each Arrowhead brother. But Jacob was the show stopper. The best was definitely saved for the last. Brenna also pulled on my heart strings and she became a fast favorite. This story has it all!!!
Stay for Me is the perfect book to get lost into. This is how I like to end the year with an amazing read
Well, I went into this book totally blind, not realizing this was part of a series, but now that I have read Jacob and Brenna’s story, I definitely need to go add the rest of the series to my TBR pile pronto!
Jacob is a big deal in Hollywood, and when he suddenly has to return to his hometown to honor his late father’s wishes, suddenly, Hollywood isn’t all it’s glammed up to be, especially when Jacob meets single mother Brenna.
Brenna has had enough on her plate between losing her husband and now raising her child on her own. Just when she thought her heart was closed off from love, here comes Jacob barging in, ready to prove to her that he is all she needs in her life. But, will she be able to tear down her heart’s walls and let another man in? Or will she run away and face a life of loneliness forever?
This was a well written novel, and I absolutely loved getting to meet these characters. Time for me to go read the rest of the series now!
What a great conclusion to this series. Jacob and Brenna’s chemistry is instant. Jacob is totally swoon worthy and I enjoyed the friends to lovers/widowed mom of kids storyline. A bit of angst and feel good moments will keep you hooked until the end. It’s definitely worth the read.
Oh my me, what a bittersweet finale for this amazing series!
This is Jacob’s story.
Jacob is the last Arrowood brother to fulfill his obligations to the legacy his father left. He knows his stay in Sugar Loaf is temporary and he looks forward to returning to his life as an actor. And then Brenna enters his world and the sparks fly. Jacob is honest and upfront. He also tries hard to keep his feelings to himself, he knows how things in his world operate and he is afraid to bring Brenna and her kids into the mix.
Brenna is trying to rebuild her life and her children’s happiness after the loss of her husband. She is a military wife. She is a rockstar. I want to applaud Ms. Michaels’s portrayal of Brenna’s character. As a military wife myself, I appreciated the honesty and raw emotions and feelings that Brenna had. I could sympathize with the character on a deep and personal level. It made me so much more invested in this story.
I loved the different sayings that each Arrowood brother had and how it really fit each brother. Mama Arrowood was an angel of a mom.
This story was a perfect ending. I loved how Jacob and Brenna navigated the relationship. I laughed, I cried and I was sad to see this end.
I have loved every book in the Arrowood Brothers series and Stay for Me pulled at my heartstrings just as much as the first three stories. Ms. Michaels is an expert at writing a book with such beautiful characters within a storyline that just keeps you mesmerized from beginning to the end.
Jacob is back for his six month stay on the family property and just like his three brothers something magical happens. They all vowed to never marry and one by one they have fallen while they were forced to stay at the house.
Brenna has moved to her husband’s home town with their two children after his death to be with family and to start over. Neither Jacob nor Brenna ever thought they would find love or in Brenna’s case, find it again, but these two have amazing chemistry and are just perfect together, but are they willing to take a chance?
Stay For Me
Corinne Michaels
I’ve sat down to write this review at least a dozen times, but every time, I get lost in the other stories of the Arrowood brothers….Who do I love best, is there one that speaks to me more? Do I love Declan more than Sean, Sean more than Connor, Connor more than Jacob? Others have said that Corinne is an evil genius, well I have to agree, but more than that, she creates stories that give you the highest highs and then takes your feet out from under you as watch your heart being shredded to smithereens. Being the oldest of four, I tend to lean towards Declan, but Jacob, oh, Jacob, I did not see you coming, with your Hollywood good looks, your gentleman’s charm, your love of family, your laugh, and your great big heart, I did not see you coming.
Jacob and Brenna give us real: Real life, real loss, real heartbreak, real joy, real happiness, and finally, real love. I love a single parent story, because you just don’t get the love story, you get the family love story. You get to watch the whole family build something together. (I am not a parent, so getting to witness through the eyes of a master storyteller, I get glimpses of how it can be.) Messy! Life is messy, Love is messy! But, with all that mess, everything becomes real. Jacob and Brenna face daily struggles, the highs and lows, hard choices, but they also get love, joy, grace, and hope. Watching the relationship grow between Jacob and Sebastian, Melanie coming into her own, and Brenna facing her fears, gives this family a true sense of reality.
Jacob and Brenna both have demons that they need to demolish. They both love big and selflessly. So, what happens when Hollywood collides with Sugarloaf???? Maybe, just maybe, you “can dance in the rain.”
I have loved all the stories of The Arrowood Brothers and I really don’t want to leave these guys and the families they have built. One thing you can always rely on with Corinne is to tug at the heartstrings whilst delivering an emotional and romantic story. Finally it is Jacob’s turn and boy did he make me swoon like the film star he is. Brenna is the single mum who literally stops him in his tracks. I adored the relationships that he built with Melanie and Sebastian it was pitched perfectly. The whole book is a rollercoaster ride of feelings from start to finish.
This is the 4th book in the Arrowhead Brothers series and once again Corinne Michaels made you feel so much! This book is such a beautiful second chance romance and will have you loving single mom Brenna and the Hollywood hero Jacob! I love that this book had a more natural progression in their relationship, which made me enjoy it even more.
Loved this book so much!!! What a great way to end a fantastic series! This book will give you all the feels! You hear will break but will be put back together again. I loved Brenna and Jacob so much!! I didn’t want their book to end! I wanted more….not in a bad way! I am not ready to say goodbye to the Arrowood family yet! This series will definitely be part of my reread pile. I definitely would recommend this book!
Received an arc for a honest review.
This book was everything. Seriously perfect and everything. Every brother has their own special characteristic and every woman in the series has her own unique way of making the men better. Brenna is no exception.
This one hit home a little more than the others. I unfortunately know how Brenna feels about the things that have happened in her past. (Not exactly but similarly) So it melted my heart a little. Only Jacob could give her what she so desperately needed. I voluntarily reviewed this book from the author. It is hands down the best in the series, but I think it was the anticipation of getting to Jacob’s story that made it perfect. This series was truly amazing.
Jacob is the last of the siblings to return home to live out his father’s last request on the family ranch. He has a successful career in Hollywood and is in between films so the perfect time to return to Sugarloaf. Not a lot has changed in this town except all of his siblings have settled down with loved ones and are having babies.
Jacob’s lifestyle has meant he hasn’t had the time or the inclination to seriously date someone. He is on the move all the time, depending on where his next movie will be filmed so casual works best for him. Until he meets Brenna.
Brenna was widowed 12 months ago and decided to move closer to her in-laws so that her children would have family close by. She has been blown away by how the community has embraced her and her kids, it truly has helped her deal with her grief. When Jacob Arrowood arrived in town she could not have anticipated how much her life would change.
Brenna’s son Sebastian is a huge fan of Jacob’s movies and is completely star struck when he meets his idol in the flesh. Jacob loves how passionate Sebastian is about movies and also how much he loves acting. They become firm friends and end up regularly going fishing together. Brenna knows how much Seb is missing his late father and it warms her heart to see him with Jacob.
When Sebastian convinces Jacob to direct his school play, Brenna ends up helping too and this means spending a lot of time in his company. Brenna feels the pull between them but also feels guilty for thinking of another man like that. Her late husband Luke was her one and only love so everything she is feeling for Jacob initially feels like cheating on his memory.
‘It’s been so long since I’ve felt this way about anyone other than my husband, but Jacob Arrowood makes me feel like a woman. Someone to be desired, cherished, and cared for. My chest rises and falls a little harder as this realisation dawns on me.’
After a while the connection between them is too much to ignore and they give into what they both desperately want and it was more than either of them could have imagined. Now Jacob understands how good it feels to be with someone genuine, so much so that it has him rethinking everything. Any decision he makes will not only affect Brenna but her children too. His six months in Sugarloaf has given him everything he ever wanted and wasn’t looking for.
‘Every time I’m around you, I feel a part of the old me die to make room for something new.’
This was such an emotional, heartfelt story, low angst but quite a few tear inducing moments too. I loved the connection that Jacob had with Sebastian, they were so damn cute! This is the final story in the Arrowood Brothers series and although it was very much Jacob & Brenna’s story, it was also like an Arrowood family reunion.
You know how you know you are going to love a story, but you don’t want to read it because it’s the last in the series and you don’t want it to end? Well, that was me with this book. I have enjoyed Conner, Declan, and Sean’s prior stories and Jacob’s was no exception.
Jacob is the last brother to return home to Sugarloaf to fulfill his six months at home. He is a big movie star, but he has not let Hollywood stardom go to his head. It was amazing how smart and grounded he was. He knows his stay is short term and has no intentions of any kind of involvement–until he meets Brenna. He is instantly taken with her (and her children.)
Brenna is a young widow with two children who has moved to Sugarloaf to be near her in-laws. She is instantly attracted to Jacob, too, but feels guilty that feeling this way is too soon. She also knows that Jacob is only in town for a short time. Jacob is very honest with her about that. I like how he was always honest to her about who he was and how long he would be there.
I enjoyed returning to this series and catching up with all the brothers and their wives. Their family scenes were the best and the brotherly banter was spot on. I’m sad that the Arrowood brothers’ stories are over, but glad they all got their HEA.
Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.
It’s always bittersweet when you know that the book your reading is the conclusion to a series that you have been invested in over 3 now 4 families.
Stay for Me brings us Jacob and Brenna’s story. First, Brenna’s history is so heartbreaking. Being a military spouse is not easy, Brenna’s time as a military spouse showed how strong she was! I felt Jacob was her chance to love again and Brenna was Jacob’s calm from the red carpet. They were perfect for each other.
Another must read from Ms. Michaels.
This book was an emotional roller coaster with lots of little ups and downs and one big one. One chapter I’m laughing and the next I’m crying. Then I’m laughing again. It was like this throughout the whole book. I loved Jacob and I loved him and Brenna together. I thought the story was going to go in one direction, but it took a turn I was not expecting. I found this book to be overall satisfying and it was a good way to end the series. I will miss the Arrowood brothers.
The last installment in the Arrowood Brother’s series features Jacob and Brenna, which I think may just be my favorite. It was such a bittersweet, but happy end to an amazing series.
Brenna and Jacob’s story is so heartbreaking, your in for the ride of your life on this emotional rollercoaster. I love a single parent story, it adds so much more to the story line, the children make for a great addition. Brenna moves to Sugarloaf after the death of her husband, Jacob is doing his time in Sugarloaf, the Hollywood star can’t wait to get the heck out of dodge. The moment these two see on another, the sparks fly off the pages. He is attracted to her, but knows he is going to be leaving town when his time is up, but he can’t help falling for the single mom and her two kids. It was so great to catch up with the other 3 couples, be prepared to put a day aside, you will not want to put this book down.
“Every woman should get the chance to dance in the rain at least once in her life”
Honestly if this is not your next 5 STAR READ, we can’t be friends anymore. This book is everything, well all the Arrowood’s are however JACOB will steal every piece of your heart! He was everything you are looking for. It’s true that the brother’s get better with every book. JACOB IS ALL THAT AND MORE! and Brenna couldn’t be a more perfect match! If you are looking for your next read look no more! One of the Best Books of 2020! ONE-CLICK Y’ALL!
Corinne truly did save the best for last because Jacob and Brenna were absolute EPIC PERFECTION! Their story was everything, it’s the type of love story that makes you believe in happily ever afters.
Jacob Arrowood is everything you would want……sexy, loyal and so darn swoon-worthy he makes your heart race! Brenna is a woman determined to mend the pieces of her broken heart and start a new chapter with her children away from the heartache they feel.
The Arrowood Brothers series is one that will stay with me, I’ll read again and again because I just can’t let them go. This was a perfect ending to such a beautiful heartfelt series and one that I’ll highly recommend to anyone looking for a small town romance with so much heart! Thank you Corinne for giving us a series that took us on a beautiful, emotional journey of forgiveness, hope and most of all love!
This story about how Jacob and Brenna fall in love with ease is very down to earth. It’s beautiful and romantic. And at times very nerve racking. But this characters are very considerate towards each others feelings and the family involved. A family that also gave them more depth and a drive to be happy. Between both Brenna and Jacob you wouldn’t know which one was more scared to fall for the other. Because even when you can clearly read all their fears, they are both so strong and determined that there was never another option other than meet it head on. Trying is always the way for them. And their communication skills are fantastic. This is a very mature read that has love blossom out of hurt and insecurities. It’s beautiful.
