Stay For Me by Adele Niles is an office romance novella that I listened to on audio narrated by Randi Johnson. This is book one in the Slippery Curves Series.
This is my first book by Adele’s and it definitely won’t be my last. The beginning of the book did reference that it was a Curvy Girl and Older Alpha Male but the ages were never actually discussed in the book. I really enjoyed this spin on an office romance. I cannot wait to dive into the second book in the series Wrecked.
Randi did an amazing job on the narration. I loved that he used different tones/voices for each character. It really made the story come to life.
KU.
I received a review copy of the audiobook version of book 5 in the series, “Upstaged”. I enjoyed that and decided to come back and read the rest of the series.
These are quick, fun, sexy, sweet short stories. I think it took me an hour to read. As far as I can tell, the stories aren’t interconnected in any way, so read them in any order. I enjoy Niles writing style, and despite being short it was well put together and enjoyable.
I listened to the Audiobook. It was ok, but this was not enough to make me want to immediately grab the next book. The Audiobook was a little over an hour long. Definitely a one sitting listen. I think the narrator did a decent job with what he had to work with.
I thought the description was misleading. “An older man, younger woman” romance. I didn’t get a real sense of age for either of them, other then feeling like they were close in age.
There really wasn’t much to this book. Not enough to make a connection with any of the characters. No drama, no chemistry, no nothing. The narration helped bring some life to this.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this Audiobook.
There’s a lot going on in this novella by Adele Niles. This is my first read/listen from this author and it will not be my last. The story is fast paced and the characters are likable, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more development in them.
Owen is a no-nonsense consultant who trims the fat from companies. He comes in works with the employees, makes is recommendations for terminations, and moves on: no muss no fuss. That is until he’s had to work with Addy for nearly a year. He’s ready to break all his rules about feelings and relationships. Little does he know Addy is just as attracted to him.
Addy dislikes her job but the one perk is seeing Owen every day. But giving in to her desires isn’t in her professional best interest until a night out with coworkers turns into more.
I’m a sucker for a good insta-love story, so I enjoyed Owen and Addy’s story. I really enjoyed the narration provided by Randi Johnson. His voice is as smooth as honey and the timbre of narration gives Owen a very sexy vibe. He does an excellent job with both characters emotional and vocal ranges and really brings them to life. This is the first narration of his I have listened to and I will definitely be looking for more of his work.
Audiobook review:
Overall 4
Performance 4
Story 4
NSFW sexy story!
Randi Johnson’s narrations just keep getting better. His voice is so sexy to listen to and he’s not over-emphasizing words as much as I think he did on some of his first books. This is a short novella about an office romance between a short-term consultant and an employee of the company he consults for.
Owen never stays after finishing a job but Addy is tempting him to change that policy.
Addy has a thing for her new temporary boss but before she knows it he’s gone.
Will these two find each other again and work things out? Take a listen to this hot sexy story to find out.
A complementary copy of the audiobook was received from the narrator but no review was requested and the gift did not influence this review.
Stay for Me
Slippery Curves Series, Book 1
By: Adele Niles
Narrated by: Randi Johnson
This is a quick one, sure to whet your appetite! Owen and Addy have instant chemistry. But should they act on that? Owen doesn’t get involved with co-workers. Now that things are a little hot and heavy and the project is over, Owen can go off with no remorse. But he can’t get Addy out of his mind! What will happen next? You have to listen. It’s a well developed short, hot and passionate and well worth the listen.
Randi Johnson brings it to life with his ability to do dual narration. He has a raspiness giving Owen a sexy tinge as you listen, and easily flows into Addy with a softer tone. He makes the listen passionate and entertaining.

Owen is a consultant hired for a bank merger. Addie is a shy curvy girl working on the project with him! Owen, Addie and coworkers met for drinks. When others left, Owen drove Addie home since she had too much to drink. She invited him in for drinks, where things were getting hot and sensual, until she passed out. Addie was dreading going to work on Monday and facing Owen! Only to find out, he already quit and was ready to start his next project! Owens number one rule is never get involved with coworkers/clients. Keep it professional, no attachments, but damn , he just couldnt keep Abby out of his mind. This is a short sensual story., which I really enjoyed.
Randi Johnson’s smooth, gravely voice is so sexy. It’s swoon worthy. I was gifted this audio in exchange for my honest review.
I cute insta-love story that has a bit of a bump to get over in the beginning. I really enjoyed listening to this one and am excited to hear more from Randi in this series.
4.5 stars!!! Audible version.
This is a sweet, quick office romance to listen to when you’re pressed for time with just enough heat to stoke the fire and keep you interested. Owen has a no dating employees rule until he comes across the tempting curves of Addy…and then it’s all bets are off and the rules are tossed out the window. It was quick and steamy with lots of chemistry between the two MC’s. I love these kind of books/audibles when nothing else is calling to me – they are cute and just long enough to clear my mind of all the dark books I lean towards.
I’m finding I pretty much love anything Randi Johnson narrates – love his growly voice 🙂

Stay for Me
Slippery Curves Series, Book 1
By: Adele Niles
Narrated by: Randi Johnson
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. This is my first book by Adele Niles and it will not be my last. She has a wonderful writing style and fit a lot of story into her novella. The characters are likable and nicely developed. Owen, a consultant was brought in to the company where Addy works, she worked on a project with him for the past year. Addy is quiet and shy, she keeps to herself at work but that does not stop her from having naughty thoughts about Owen. Owen does not get involved with anyone he works with but he has been crushing on Addy, there is just something about her that gets to him. When the project they were working on is over the team goes out to have some drinks. One thing leads to another and the two wind up getting together. But in true Owen fashion he heads off to the next job leaving no contact info behind. I liked how he could not get her out of his mind, but by the time he went back to look for her she was gone. I liked how everything played out. Somethings are just meant to be. Adele Niles thank you for this great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Randi Johnson is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. He brings these characters and their story to life. I love how he projects the emotions of the characters as well as the drama of the story into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen
Overall I liked the book
Addy, a curvy numbers gal, works with Owen, a consultant, at her current work place. As the story progresses things heat up, rules are broken, and a second chance could end the same as the first. This insta-romance is heavy on the lust and light on the romance. This is not as great as some other insta-everything authors from a story telling perspective but the plot is original and contains no holes. Overall I liked the book, I just would have liked a little more of it.
I received a free copy of the book from the author via Booksprout. I had the opportunity to review or not.
