This wonderful story-line is about second chances at life, new surroundings and friends that become your chosen family. Dr. Gage Ewing worked at the local ER plus opened his own office but some things in his past kept coming to the surface. His chance at love came from IrishMist “Ivy” Vaughn who was a tough cop in town. She had spent her life literally fighting, being in the military and worked for years undercover ridding our communities of crime. I loved meeting the Gonzales family and sit here wondering if they will have their own story. Ivy was their new hero as she protected their young girl from a bully and possible physical harm. It’s a great book
After Sleepin’ Alone, this is the second book I’ve read in this series. Wow… so good! It may be fiction, but this author writes in a way that really feels like you get to know the characters on a personal level and feel so many emotions as things unfold. Right away, I was caught up and am compelled to read on and see what happens. There’s action and suspense and, of course, romance. It’s all here… desire, passion, insecurity, intimacy, love. Couldn’t help myself, had to read it twice. So invested in all of the characters and their stories. Can’t wait to read more!
Bernadette Jones has a rare talent in the writing world. She can put together characters and introduce them in such a way that it feels as if you have been lifelong friends with them. IrishMist appeared in a previous book, but I was so thrilled to have her return to Aspen, Colorado and the Aspen Gold series. She comes with a lot of living in her past that brings its own baggage with her. It was such a joy to watch her start to change and come into her own as a person. And when she and Dr. Gage Ewing begin to be involved, we learn more about the good doctor’s past as well.
Every time you think you know where Gage and Irish are headed, another curveball is thrown and the ride gets a little more wild. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed with this story. While it is part of the Aspen Gold series, it stands alone. And let me warn you that once you start reading, you’d better have a little time because you won’t want to put it down. Enjoy!
Stay A Little Longer by Bernadette Jones brings back to Spencer, Colorado and some old and new friends. Of course, we have a murder, intrigue and romance from a doctor (who worked undercover for the CIA once) and a secret operative agent that have to work together to see who is trying to kill the doctor and why. Ivy and Gage have to trust each other to cover each other’s back by not knowing anything about the other proves interesting.
Can they find out the answers before one or both of them get killed or cause others they care about to get hurt? Well, read this book to find out.
