She doesn’t care why.I do.Treason comes in many forms.Love is one of them. Our training taught me to be a sociopath. A machine. A pawn. Nothing more than a tool for a larger goal, without attachments or feelings. Our teachers … a tool for a larger goal, without attachments or feelings.

Yet we do.
It turns out our emotions are our greatest weapon.

Stateless – Meli Raine
Meli Raine has done it again with this starter to her new series.
A brilliantly crafted story with every hallmark of a twisted political thriller but with so much more.
Her characters are brilliantly developed and draw the reader into their world and an intriguing plot full of suspense, romance and the quintessential intrigue we’ve grown to love from Meli Raine.
Meli Raine has definitely set the standard for this genre and this series will be everything we’ve come to appreciate from her work.
More in the series coming and I can’t wait to get my teeth into the next episode.
I’m hooked on this journey. Stateless gets a little more science- fiction for my tastes, but since I’m already hooked on the story, it’s not too much to deal with or too far out there, following along from the other series.
As always, can’t wait to continue on these characters journey discovering life and love and all the obstacles they’re clearly set to face along the way.
Wow.
Yet again the author has started a series off with a bang.
After finishing her last book I was so excited to read this and boy did she deliver.
The hidden world of Stateless has to be read to be believed.
Whether you have read all books by this author or just starting now, you need to read immediately.
Every series of hers I start thinking it can’t be better than the last, & every time I’m happily proven wrong.
This book will grip you from cover to cover and blow your mind with all the twists and turns.
Meli Raine has been on my TBR forever but life has always gotten in the way of me starting any of her series. But, since this is a new one, I decided to dive in. I did feel a little lost about what Stateless is and I wonder if that’s because I haven’t read any of the interconnected series to this one.
Once I finally felt like I understood what was happening, I was totally into this story and couldn’t put it down. There’s so much suspense that I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, waiting to see what was going to happen.
This book ends on a cliffhanger, which isn’t usually my jam, but this only made me more excited for book two!!
I couldn’t read this story fast enough. Meli Raine sure knows how to bring in the suspense and mystery into a book. Lana~White Hot Reads
Kina and Callum have been raised Stateless since they were children and have formed a bond that even Stateless can’t get through. When their time comes to prove themselves, Callum and Kina do but only one of them gets to leave and do something other than work at the compound. After 9 years away, Callum and Kina are once again thrown back together but this time as adults and the feeling that they had for each other just intensify. The book leaves you with more questions than you started with but its oh so good. Can’t wait for Traceless.
Who are the bad guys and who are the good guys? It is a murky question when you are not even sure which one you are.
Kina and her twin Glen are two of the trainees of Stateless. One is seen as a weak mule and the other as a rising star. Like the twins, Callum was brought into Stateless at 4 years old. And like Kina, he has dreams that feel like memories.
All three want nothing more than to be a valuable entity for the mission.
Secrets, lies, and never knowing who to trust are quickly becoming the state of being for all of the trainees. Inner-compound battles lead to death sentences for some, elevation for others and a world of heartache and shame for yet others.
Note: If you have not read any of Meli Raine’s series’ before now, I suggest you do so before diving into Stateless. Begin with the Harmless series and then move onto the Shameless and then False series’. This will let you get the most out of this book. Most of the players and how they fit into it will be revealed.
This book will have you wondering for a bit about who you should root for but, by the end, you are getting a clearer picture of how they play out.
I won’t say I love this book but I will say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do love finally getting some answers to people from the other series’!
Stateless was unbelievable. I couldn’t put it down. I was confused at first but soon the pieces fell in place. It was amazing how the author was able to tie it to other stories she had written. As with her other books, there is a love story building but there is suspense, intrigue, and action but this book adds even more. Espionage is the name of the game and some very evil people are in charge. This author’s ability to develop a story and intertwine characters is mind blowing. The only down fall of this book is that I have to wait to read the next book.
Stateless, those born or ‘rescued’ at the compound. No background, no emotions, trained for The Mission. This is book one of this trilogy by Meli Raine following the False series. Characters from that series pop up here so it’s helpful to have read but not necessary. This is an intense psychological tale with twists and turns every page. Who do you trust? No one. Are you the good guy or the bad guy? The book gathers speed the further you read until it’s 3 a.m. But you can’t quit reading even when you know the alarm goes off at 5. Then you’re done and screaming ‘no it can’t end there!’ This is another sure fire hit for Meli Raine.
Another great start to a trilogy. You don’t have to read the other Meli Raine books but I recommend you do to fully understand this book.
Wow! This book makes you wonder if there really are organizations like this out there. Callum and Kina are great characters that had me pulling for them. I couldn’t believe some of the things that happened to Kina, which is what had me rooting for her. Everyone underestimates her, including herself. When everyone in her group gets ready to graduate from training, things don’t go as planned. This ends up causing chaos and pulls some people apart. When secrets start to unravel, Callum and Kina dont know who to trust or what to do with their discoveries. I wasn’t expecting the way the book ended but I was yelling “yes”. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
It’s a Special Ops Hunger Games meets Divergent Meli Raine Style!! Oh my goodness!! What a great start to another trilogy by Meli Raine. It was intriguing and captivating with twists and turns!! I stayed up into the night to finish!!! I am waiting anxiously for the next installment!!
While the story intertwines with that of the other trilogies, one could read it in its own. You won’t be disappointed!!
I received an advance copy and have provided my honest review voluntarily.

Stateless is the first book in a new trilogy in the same world as the “Harmless’ and “False’ series were. It’s a compelling book that’s hard to put down. It was captivated from the outset. Glen and Kina are identical twins, who have lived a mysterious life at ‘the compound’. They’ve been there all their life as far as they know. As they grew older, they believed they were stronger together but it Kina and the girls’ lifelong best friend Callum who have an unbeatable connection.
All three, along with everyone else are being trained for one thing only… The Mission.
What is The Mission though, and what happens when your beliefs are tried and found wanting?
What if those you trusted most were the ones to betray you? Endanger those you loved?
Callum and Kia are the central characters, there are others from the previous series. Most notably, Romeo.
Callum is a good guy, through and through. He strong and independent and he protects those he loves. This is a dual POV story, and swings from past to present, most is in the past working up to the here and now. We get to see these characters grow into the people they will be, in an emotional roller-coaster of a story. This is the start of another masterpiece of twisted, suspense-filled trilogy. Can’t wait for Traceless.
Another great start to a Meli Raine trilogy! I was hooked from the start! I do recommend you read the other Meli Raine books in order of written to fully understand this trilogy.
Holy hell!! I’m on the edge of my seat in crazy anticipation of what’s coming next. Meli Raine weaves an amazing political thriller/romantic suspense story like no other. In my book, she is better than the Brad Thor/Vince Flynn’s of the political thriller genre (and these guys are some of my favorites). Every trilogy gets better and better in my book. Can you read these without reading previous trilogies? Sure you can and you will STILL get an amazing story built around a world that while fiction, still makes me think could definitely be a real thing. We know there are people out there who live off the grid. What we don’t know really is what they might be planning for our country or our world. Are they friend or foe? Meli Raine builds this world and builds the suspense in such a way that you truly get pulled in and that “world” swirls around you making you really THINK. Kina and Callum have been raised to be, not necessarily superhuman, but to be able to infilitrate without feeling, the world around them. But they are NOT who they think they are and there are surprises in store not only for themselves but for all the people around them. Reading the previous stories will give you some insight into some of the back stories that get brought up and since they are amazing reads, I’d recommend at the very least the Harmless, Shameless and False trilogies first. BUT you could start here and still enjoy a hella great suspense story.
I must admit it did take me a little while to thoroughly get into this but when I did wow wham bang what a story! Such a chilling scenario! My heart raced several times as the tension rose and the suspense was out the roof! So many unexpected twists had me riveted in my seat as I eagerly drank in every word. What an exceptional excellent book.
This is the first of a trilogy and I am excited to get the second and third to see how this extremely well written and absorbing story ends. I really enjoyed reading this and highly recommend it to you.
This is the first in the new trilogy by Meli Raine, and as with her other series, Harmless, Shameless and False, it is well written, packs a punch with the suspense building throughout and has a cliffhanger at the end. Although this is a stand alone trilogy, it is better to read the previous series as there are characters and story lines that you will have a better understanding off. The first part of the book deals with a time before the Harmless series started and provides background as to who are the Stateless. Kina and Glen are identical twins who came to Stateless when they were four years old, as did Callum, a warrior for the cause. Although they are taught that emotions are weak and they will ruin a mission, Callum has always felt something for Kina and after he kisses her, he knows that he loves her. Kina’s mantra is to fly under the radar, but that has lead to her being called ‘the mule’ as people think she is stupid. Kina is anything but and the only one that believes in her is Callum. When Callum wins “The Test” and is sent on his mission, he mistakenly assumes that Kina has also left the compound. When he returns nine years later to become the leader, he is horrified to find that Kina has never left the campus and has been the nursery director and “training body” (which is exactly what it sounds like) and vows to help her get out. But first he must leave for another mission but promises that this time, he will come back for her. Can’t wait for the next installment.
I am blown away again by Meli’s writing. This is the first book in the series and if it’s any indication of what the other ones will be like, we’re all in for an awesome ride.
The first in this new series and let me just say “WOW”! This is another link in the chain of the previously published series’ and the wagons are circling. What happens when corrupt, greedy, rich, powerful people decide to grab children and train them to be single minded, soulless, killing machines, placing them in or close to positions of power. This is the first book and does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. Don’t miss this one!
Wow, what a web of truth & lies!
I loved everything about this book! The characters, the mystery of who to trust & the budding romance.
