“Tall, Dark, and Ruthless”
At least, that’s how TIME Magazine described me, Arav Shetty.I’m a merciless, self-made businessman so it really wasn’t surprising when I met with Nisha Jain, my up-and-coming competitor, and tried to buy her company. Nisha Jain is the last woman I should be interested in but chemistry isn’t dictated by logic. The attraction between us is overwhelming and I instantly … between us is overwhelming and I instantly want to win her heart. I want her in a way I’ve never wanted anyone before, but our first meeting was… rough.
When our families decided to set us up for a love match after our disastrous initial encounter? Let’s just say I have a lot to make up for.
Good thing I’m not afraid of a little hard work.

I so enjoyed this Novella length love story. The author did a great job of writing a very complete and believable story in it’s length. Arav is one of those leading men you wished all others were patterned after. He has over come a sad past and has built his own amazing future now he just needs a girl to be a partner and help him complete it. Nisha is a strong female lead still trying to find her feet. These two complimented each other so well. The author did an amazing job of creating tension and feeling with these two.
Language> Not much a couple of Damns and some religious swear words. Drugs>Drinking by the father.
Sex>A couple of kisses and cuddling. Some innuendo and references to it, but it would be a book I would let my older teen read.
I loved this sweet romance between Nisha and Avra. They have a unique story that keeps you drawn in where you don’t want to put the book down. It had a great ending, and I can’t wait to read more in Shilpa Mudiganti’s next book.
I liked reading about a different culture and learning new things. I liked how Nisha and Arav were both self-sufficient and only complimented each other…with a little head-butting. I liked that something arranged could turn into something deeper. I liked the little surprises that weren’t expected.
This book was given to me in exchange for my honest review. I have not read anything by Shilpa Mudiganti previously. Startup Fiance was a quick and easy read. It is a light romance. Arav and Nisha own rival tech companies in NYC. Arav has been at the top for a few years and managed to stay there by buying up his rivals. Nisha’s company is nipping at his heels and after a not so pleasant meeting he realizes she won’t sell willingly. Little did they know that her Grandmother and his Uncle are trying to set them up for an arranged marriage. The trials these two go through to figure out if they can stand each other much less get married would be trying for anyone even if they weren’t your rival.
Not being familiar with the Indian customs might have slowed the story down a little but the author did try to include some helpful info in the beginning. I liked the strong female character breaking from tradition with her culture and building her company. Not being willing to settle for a man to just be his arm candy. Also even though Arav has the same cultural background he respects Nisha for being strong. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a light read with a HEA.
Rich and Deep Romance
While this is not a very long story, it is rich and deep. There is more depth to these characters than in some novels twice as long. The plot and emotion rings very true. This is a sweet and clean romance, yet it lacks nothing. I will be reading everything that this writer produces! I received this book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review.
A fresh look at romance, this book brings into focus the challenges that face young people in a first world country whilst at the same time as adhering to the traditions being imposed on them by their proud families. Arav and Nisha are competitors for the top position in their dot com companies, both of them fiercely protective of their markets and working against each other to gain a one or two percent market share at the expense of the other. That is until they discover that their meddling families have arranged a marriage between them. Arev is an arrogant self-made man with suppressed anger emanating from the sins of his father. Nisha is essentially a sweet young woman, doing her best to keep the balance between maintaining her right to make her own decisions while at the same time giving her father the respect he demands. Neither Arav nor Nisha set out to find romance, but the attraction between them is undeniable. With a determined father, an ex-fiance who refuses to take no as an answer and reporters pursuing their every move, Arav and Nisha are caught up in a battle to find their way over the hurdles in their path. I enjoyed this clean romance with some suspense, as well as the insights into another culture. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
