FIRST IN THE GUARDIANS TRILOGY From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a trilogy about three couples who join together to create their own family and solve an ancient mystery through the powers of timeless love… paintings. Her visions lead her to the Greek island of Corfu, where five others have been lured to seek the legendary fire star, part of an ancient prophecy. Sasha recognizes them, because she has drawn them: a magician, an archaeologist, a wanderer, a fighter, a loner. All on a quest. All with secrets.
Sasha is the one who holds them together—the seer. And in the magician, Bran Killian, she sees a man of immense power and compassion. As Sasha struggles with her rare ability, Bran is there to support her, challenge her, and believe in her.
When a dark threat looms, the six must use their combined powers—including trust, unity, and love—to find the fire star and keep the world on course.

I just finished book one in Nora Robert’s Guardian Trilogy, Stars of Fortune. I became interested in these books because they are not just romance novels, which is what Nora Roberts is best known for. They also contain elements of mythology and fantasy. Unfortunately, the third book, Bay of Sighs, does not come out until December 2016. So, I am taking my time reading the second book in the series, Island of Glass. I have not been this excited about a fantasy series since the Harry Potter books came out!
Nora Roberts’Guardians Trilogy is perfect for reading while snowed in. Taking place in Corfu, Cyprus, and Ireland, these three books have adventure, romance, magic, battles against ancient evil, victory…what else do you need?…all told by a master storyteller!
Love this trilogy! Just finished the first book Stars of Fortune…characters are so interesting and funny…enjoy seeing how Nora flaws the characters and makes them strong at the same time. Great plot and so into the love story part too! Throw in demons, witches, paranormal and I am sold!
Nora Roberts is an author in a class by herself. She gets to blend contemporary romance with a little magic and mythology and sell it well. This story is just one of many of hers that really makes me forget my day and just love reading.
I’ve blown through this trilogy–one of the few Roberts trilogies I hadn’t yet read. So different and yet quintessentially Nora. Perfect series to get lost in for a few days.
I also just read this book and will be started the next one in the trilogy. It’s a good book keeps you hanging on
This is the first book that I ever read by Nora and I fell head over heels for her writing! This is the first book in the trilogy The Guardians and every book in it is absolutely amazing and beautiful! I have read this trilogy 2 times and am working on the 3rd. 150% recommend to anyone who likes romantic thrillers with gods, war, ordinary people with amazing powers, friendship, lovers, and incredible age old bonds!
This is book one of the Guardian’s Trilogy. I just lover her trilogies. This had fantasy, love, friendship, honor, interesting characters and some mystery. I recommend the entire trilogy.
This is the first book in The Guardian Trilogy and was a wonderful first book! It definitely hooks you in and makes you want to read the next book immediately. Nora Roberts has a way of writing that draws you into the story and you feel as if you are there. This book is no different and all the characters quickly become a part of you.
I loved this series. It’s definitely worth rereading
Incredible character development, Realistic thought processes of characters, great action sequences. A real page turner.
I love Nora Roberts. I took a short break from reading her books, but while at the library a month or so ago I saw her Cousins O’Dwyer series and just inhaled them. So, when I was approached to review the first book of her new series, Stars of Fortune, there was really no choice except to say yes.
Having just read another one of her trilogies, I found myself drawing a lot of parallels. In many of her recent paranormal series (see Circle Trilogy, Signs of Seven and so on), she has 6 people who have all banded together to fight some evil source. Each of these groups have 3 men and 3 women who obviously pair off into couples since these are romance. So, she has a formula… and it works. The key is that Ms Roberts comes up with an interesting premise to bring all these folks together.
With Stars of Fortune we start the Guardian Trilogy. Six strangers are all drawn to Greece and we start off with Sasha. She’s an American artist who is being haunted by images and dreams and in an effort to figure out what’s going on, she books an impromptu trip to Corfu. Almost immediately upon arriving she starts meeting people she’d been dreaming about (and painting pictures of) and our gang of heroes is formed. As the story unfolds, these strangers become friends, learn about all their special talents and what drew them on this quest they’ve all seemed to have inherited.
While the overarching story for the search of some mythological stars is taking place (and will continue in the next installment), we get a romance between Sasha and Bran. For me, the romance seemed to take a backseat to everything else going on. I mean, you have to meet 6 people, learn about them and their purpose, make some advance in the story and have a romance between the first couple all in about 300 pages. It’s a tall order. And it mostly succeeded. I could have used a touch more romance, but I could see the relationship develop so I didn’t feel too cheated.
In the end Stars of Fortune is a great start to this trilogy. I’m excited to see what happens next and to learn more about the rest of the group. Ms Roberts has created another intriguing and compelling story and I can’t wait for more.
My review originally posted at Romancing the Book.
This is part of 4 part series that are NOT standalone…..it is romantic fantasy..with magic and people with unusual powers….and they become romantically entangled and should be read in sequence….but love it!!!
I’m a Nora Roberts fan, so when I tell you that I like her methodology you might hear predictability. So yes, I usually know exactly where a story is going and I’m practically guaranteed a Happily Ever After. But dagnabbit, sometimes that’s exactly what a girl wants! And Nora Roberts never disappoints!! And this one starts in Greece! So read it because its sweet and magical!
Nora Roberts is one of my all-time favorites and I haven’t read one that I didn’t love yet. This one sort of reminded me of the first book in her Circle Trilogy, which is one of my favorite trilogies. I loved the characters in this. I listened to it on audio and loved how the narrator changed her voice and made each character different so you always knew who was talking, plus that gave each one a unique quality that I loved. I highly recommend this first book. I’m on to the second now.
Nora does it again with this wonderful series that will keep you on the front of your seat. The characters are all great and the storyline is interesting and entertaining. The suspense and drama is nail biting as well as believable. Loved the book and the whole series.
I own, have read all three of the books in this series by Nora Roberts and would very highly recommend them to anyone. I would also highly recommend that you buy all three in the series as you will not want to stop reading this great story.
Book 1 of the Guardians Trilogy. It took a few chapters before I got really into it and the more I read the more I love what the story was about and where it is going. We have 6 individuals (strangers) with different powers/secrets that are drawn together to find 3 stars. In this book we have Sasha the Seer and Bran the magician they need to find the Fire Star with the help of other 4 on the island of Corfu. Looking forward to start Bay of Sighs, the second book in the trilogy.
Love Nora Roberts. This trilogy is unique. If you want to venture into a mystical world this will take you there
This is one of Nora’s more amazing and action packs d books right from the beginning. I loved this book for the star aspect of unbelievable events that unfold. A must read, you won’t be sorry, for the beware scrimmage.
