Starla Devaroux is at the peak of her music career. Life as a popular Christian music artist is good. This Christmas she finds herself at the crossroads of several life-altering choices. It’s quite a conundrum; the path she takes this time will not only define her future but alter the lives of others as well.
My Thoughts on Starla’s Christmas Conundrum:
Such a quick sweet read. Nothing stands out as scary or startling. Really I could tell you how the book was going to end by chapter two but I liked the characters so much that I just kept reading.
Starla is sweet but a bit lost music artist who sure on the path of her life anymore. She just needs a break but no one will listen to her. Maybe it’s time to take some drastic measures.
Mason is another music artist on a mini-vacation around Christmas. He just wants to get away from it all every once in a while and has found the perfect spot. What happens if maybe he’s found the perfect girl in his perfect spot?
Can life actually be perfect? Of course not! Enter a few bad guys and some fun will find you. There is a bit of drama and a small bit of mystery but nothing big.
I enjoyed the book. It’s not one that I’m going to read again though. Nothing huge or noteworthy that’s going to make it stand out in my collection but nothing that marks it as a bad read either. I’d recommend it if you’re wanting a cute feel-good romance. This is the type of book I read when I’ve become overwhelmed with my life and just need a bit of a break. A story to hide in that isn’t going to tax my brain anymore by making me work to figure out the mystery or sit in suspense wondering who’s gonna die!

What a nice refreshing story that brings Christmas in July for me. I was so comfortable reading this enchanting story, that I completely lost track of time. I have always wondered what it would be like to be famous. Of course you have fame and money, but there is always another side that we don’t hear much about. I remember one particular Christian artist that fell hard and hit rock bottom. The media was all over it and pretty much crucified him in the news.
This story was nice to read because Starla could sense that something was off with her. She was on top of the charts, concerts just about every night, but she couldn’t feel God anywhere. I loved how the author showed us a side of Christian music where we hardly get a glimpse of. Starla recognizes that it it time to take a break and spend some time alone with God. The message is clear that sometimes we forget to invite God into our lives. Her need to refuel and seek God for direction was amazing to read. I loved all the scriptures and her heart to heart talks with God.
Mason was going through similar struggles as Starla and I enjoyed how God brought them together. Mason was a great character and I liked his openness to Starla. His life wasn’t always easy but as he shared his story, Starla could see how much God had changed him. It’s a great story with a little twist that took me by surprise. We always need to be on guard as the enemy will use anyone to cause us to stumble. The enemy loves to control us so he can cause havoc in our lives.
I enjoyed the characters and how much I got from the story. Be prayfull about all things, trust God and listen to your heart. He does have a plan for each of us . We need to be able to have open ears and trust him. Enjoy this story of two people seeking God and finding happiness.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
The busy life of the entertainment world can be overwhelming. Such as with Christian Recording Artist, Starla Devaroux. She decides to take a vacation to rejuvanate herself. While on vacation she meets someone(Mason), and they both take an interest in one another. Could her vacation end up being a Sabatical from the Music Industry? How will the relationship flourish? I will let you find out for yourself!!
Starla’s Christmas Conundrum is a short and easy read. I was able to read it in a couple of hours. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in the book. Starla is expecting a vacation and meets Mason. The relationship takes off so fast, that decisions for her future are also coming at her fast and furious. Many people under the pressure that Starla is facing, wouldn’t react with the calmness that Starla seems to be exhibiting. The Storyline and Characters all flowed well with each other.
Carol E. Keen has a good writing style. I enjoyed reading this book and I know others will also! Hope you all enjoy it also! Enjoyable Short Book!
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Though Starla is at the peak of her career as a Christian singer, something just isn’t right. And after a medical scare her Dr. orders rest, which Starla finds at a cozy cabin in Tennessee. But what she learns there changes her life forever.
I enjoyed this sweet romance with the setting in a nice quiet Tennessee town around Christmas time. Though I have to admit, I really wish there had been more festive Christmas scenes throughout the book. The characters were likeable and developed well as the story unfolds. To me the plot is quite predictable, but it is still a nice book for your entertainment, especially during the Christmas season. Unfortunately, what happens with Starla in this book is common today. People can’t always be dependable, and it’s very difficult when it is such a close friend. The author does a really good job of weaving the bad issues with the good things in Starla’s life to create a beautiful ending.
