This is a wonderful read, it is a good book to sit on a rainy day with a good cup of coffee and just lose yourself in this world that Neil Gaiman created for us.
Rarely do I come across a book so thoroughly enjoyable. I found myself deliberately reading slowly, savoring and rereading phrases. Without laborious description, the prose sizzles with wonder and sparkles with utter beauty. Through Tristan Thorn’s innocent eyes, the world consists of tiny miracles and immense splendor. I love how Gaiman lets so …
Stardust is the story of young Tristan Thorn who would do anything to win Victoria’s heart. One night they see a shooting star and he promises her he will go and find it and bring it back to her. Only no one is allowed to cross the border of his village. Beyond the wall strange things tend to happen.
This book is a classic fairy tale. Only this …
This is one book where I went into it after seeing the movie first. I’m so glad I did. The story here is highly entertaining, but very different from the movie version, so it was full of surprises, and I find myself preferring some parts of each over the other. The overall premise is the same about a boy who goes in search of a star in the …
The movie is a longtime favorite so it was fun to revisit this beloved world years later in paperback.
Filled with what I love: whimsy, humor, romance, extraordinary circumstances, imagination, and characters who butt heads.
This is another wonderful world of Gaiman’s. swashbuckling romance with his customary wit and unparalleled imagery
This is one of the better written simple stories. Reading this book is a pleasure; the words just flow, and the story builds in a very natural way. It started me off on Neil Gaimen, and I have never looked back.
Stardust by Neil Gaiman – I really liked the movie, so I read the book. Not the usual order I go for, but the book is still better! Amazing adventure! Happy Reading!
I love the concept of how the actions of one person can affect future generation and its impacts. The choices of the characters demonstrates life choices in a funny sort of way. I saw the movie rendition afterwards and loved the story even more!
Apparently, I purchased this book in 2015 but never read it. I love Neil Gaiman, so I have no idea why I didn’t read it then, but I’m glad I finally read it now!
There are so many reviews for this book; there’s nothing I could possibly add that no one has said before. I loved the fantastical whimsy of this story; however, I feel like the ending …
This book is just so thoroughly entertaining. Love Gamin.
Pure fun!
Well written
Fun , entertaining read!
One of my favorite authors, this was a great read.
Wonderfully entertaining and imaginative. A little whimsy and fantasy combined to make for a totally enjoyable read.
This was a fun book and a fast read. The character development, world building and description are all good. I enjoy Gaiman’s use of myths in his books. This one did not have the outrageous humor that I loved in Good Omens, nor the depth of characters and dark humor of American Gods, but enjoyable nonetheless.
What a wonderful book! I put it off for the longest time b/c all I knew was the graphic novel and I’m not a big fan of Charles Vess’ work, but once the movie came out and I saw and loved that, I had no choice be to read the source material. And other than the fact that Captain Shakespeare is a character created for the movie and isn’t in the film …
Imaginative but flat
I know I will probably be vilified for this…
I have always found Neil Gaiman to be very imaginative. He weaves intricate and very detailed backgrounds for his stories. His characters seem to be coming from interesting places…but they are flat, boring. I don’t feel invested in their well-being. I just don’t care. I wouldn’t …
Neil created a wonderful story and magical world.
