A hidden legacy. A shared destiny. All Princess Rika wants is to be a moonburner like her mother, but her powers are nowhere to be found. When a fleet of dark ships appears on the horizon, Rika is convinced this is the perfect opportunity to force her magic to manifest. But the ships bring more than Rika bargained for—an invasion of soul-eating monsters intent on consuming all she holds dear.… consuming all she holds dear.
Overwhelmed and outmatched, Rika finds an unlikely ally in Vikal—a dangerous man enslaved to the monsters that killed his family and ravaged his homeland. Thrown together in a desperate attempt to evade the soul-eaters, they begin to realize they have more in common than they ever thought possible. Alone, their lands and people are doomed to fall to the encroaching darkness. But together, they have a prayer of a chance to save their worlds. And to find something more in the process.
Don’t miss this final book in the Moonburner Cycle! Can be read as a stand-alone novel.

What a perfect ending to this trilogy. I really enjoyed the world created in this series. Through out series I fell more in love with Rika. The whole series was so good I couldn’t put it down. I was feverishly flipping through pages although I didn’t want it to end. I would not read this as a stand alone.
5 out of 5 stars for sure!
Starburner by Claire Luana is the third in this sci-fi trilogy. I really enkoyed the first and second book and couldnt wait to read the third. This book was not only a great read, but I love the characters even more now. Once I started reading I didnt want to put it down. This author has a great flow in her writing style and character development which was obvious in all of the books. This is the first series I have read by this author and will absolutely continue to read any thing she writes. I give this book a solid 5 stars.
StarBurner by Claire Luana
5 Stars!!!!!
I was just as glued to the pages of this as I was the very first book in this series. I was glad to be able to follow this series
fully through. The author has a very refreshing and unique writing style that keeps you interested and wanting to see how the story
progresses. I thought that this book was a very fitting finaly to the series.
The whole storyline ending in this manner and highlighting Rika and Vikal was just a fitting end to it. I found this book
to have twists and turns that kept me interested and yearning to find out what would happen next and how it would all end. I am
sad to see it end but I know that I will like to read more from this author and see what other worlds she can create and bring
to life.

Starburner is the third and final book in the Moonburner Cycle series by Claire Luana. What a superb series this has been, and this story was a fitting ending to what has become one of my favourite series, ever!
Starburner is a spellbinding, action packed fantasy that has magic, and a real heart and soul woven through the storyline. Ms. Luana has demonstrated her masterful world building talents by creating a unique, fascinating and believable world in which her story is set. As I said right from the beginning, the story/series seems to have a Japanese cultural influence and feel to it – in the names of people and places, and the addition of some Japanese folklore, and mythical creatures added an intrigue and mysteriousness to the book/series. Ms. Luana’s imaginative and wonderfully written story is quite textured and complex- with so many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together seamlessly.
This book has the ‘flavour’ of the other books, but I felt that it had a slightly darker tone to it- which added to the intrigue, in my eyes.
The characters are unique, interesting, well thought out and fully developed. They were so enchanting, the whole cast of characters bought a real depth and added appeal to the story. I loved meeting new characters, as well as catching up with some old favourites. I loved how Ms. Luana made the stories ‘connect’- it’s very clever of her.
While I am sad to leave this series and ‘world’ behind, I am incredibly excited to see what Ms. Luana does next- because if this series is anything to go by, it’s going to be brilliant! But with any great series, I am sure to revisit this one time and again- because great stories never fade away!
Kudos!!…. and Thank you, Ms. Luana!

This series has been awesome, I’m not normally a fan of fantasy but the writing in these books has me a fan of this author
I was impressed by how she drew me in and kept me interested as I normally end up lost in a fog reading books similiar to this so my 5 stars for this story is completely for the author and how well it was written.
I absolutely will be watching for whatever else this author comes out with, her storylines and writing style is completely spot on.
Awesome..Loved it!!
Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana and is a fantasy story that is well written and I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed the other books in the series but I think this one is just as good if not better and you grow to love the characters. Unfortunately this is the last book in the series. The story is so engrossing and often had my heart in my throat had had me at the edge of my seat. I cried and I laughed out loud at times right along with the main character Rika. It is a fast paced and action packed story that is full of magic, gods and thrills. Start from the first book and enjoy the ride

This book can be read as a standalone, however, with all book series, I always recommend reading in book order to get to know the characters, stories and personalities. Princess Rika seeks to be powerful. Not all encompassing, foreboding, hail to me power. But powerful like her mother, who was a Moonburner. She feels that she is finally presented with the chance to have her powers show when her people are attacked and she gets way more than what she bargained for. Rika grows immensely within this book. She meets and travels with Vikal. I love their interaction and their relationship. Vikal has some very heavy burdens and Rika helps him alleviate some of the guilt associated with his past and Vikal helps Rika grow into powers that a separate from her mothers. Their love is a slow love, not an instant school love, but one that is built upon trust, conversations and connection. 5 out of 5 stars for this book. I highly recommend this series.
Starburner by Claire Luana is book 3 in the Moonburner Cycle series. These books get better and better as we progress in the series! This 3rd installment didn’t disappoint! With great responsibility comes tragedy and sacrifice. I loved the turn that this book takes in the series. It’s always great to see what happens to our (OTP) heroes’ children! Sad to see this great series come to an end!
I give Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana, 5 stars.
This is the story of Princess Rika. She has a destiny to fulfill. Only problem is, she has not come into her powers yet. And why does she look so different from everyone else? She is supposed to be a Moonburner like her mother, with silver hair. Then an event happens that could very well be the beginning up her prophecy. She races out to see what is going on, but little does she know just how much tragedy and change it will bring. What will happen to her family and her people? What can she do to save them all?
This series is like coming home. I forgot just how good it is and could not put this book down until I was done. We meet another generation of the family we love. Rika is your normal teenage girl in the beginning, but she has to grow up very quickly. The characters are like your friends and family, they are so well written and believable. The story, while it fits right in with the previous books, is completely different and pulls you in right away. You will feel many things, love, hate, sadness. There are hard decisions to be made and you feel for Rika the whole time.
While I recommend reading the whole series because it is that good and will help you understand a little more, I do not feel that you absolutely have to read the previous books to follow this one. I do highly recommend this book to lovers over fantasy and strong female main characters coming into their own.
Starburner by Claire Luana is the third book in her brilliant Moonburner Cycle series. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I would highly recommend reading this series in order as they are just that good.
Rika wants nothing more than to be a moonburner. And yet no matter how hard she wishes for it she has shown no sign of powers. When a sudden influx of ships brings upon them horrors she had never imagined Rika hopes all the more for some power to surface.
When she meets the mysterious Vikal she finds in him an unexpected ally – after all he has more reason than most to hate the monsters he is enslaved to. What follows is a battle to not only stop the monsters but to find more in each other than they could have expected.
I loved this whole series and this book is no exception. The story was brilliant and well written. I loved Rika and Vikal, I thought their characters were perfectly paired. I was hooked from the moment I started reading this book but I expected nothing less. This book is a must read!

This story had so much in it! It was an coming of age story with adventure, danger, and love all combined in a very successful way. Rika learned about herself and grew so much as a character. I enjoyed reading about her! Vikal experienced so much trauma, but is learning to live fully again. I also enjoyed reading more about Hiro and Kai. I have read about them in previous book. I loved getting a peak of their lives. This book truly has something for every type of reader, and I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did.

This was such a fantastic read! I have dipped in and out of this series and this book can be read as a standalone. I adore this authors writing, her attention to detail is brilliant and I just love her amazing characters. It didn’t take me long to become captivated by this read and I read it in one sitting. Fantasy stories aren’t my usual genre choice but because this author has created such amazing worlds and characters I have definitely fallen in love with them now!
I liked the characters Princess Rika and Vikal. I enjoyed reading their story, especially with Rika learning how to use her powers in order to save their home.
A great read with fantastic characters, fast paced writing and wonderful descriptive language. I highly recommend this book!

Starburner(Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana is the third and final book in the Moonburner Cycle Series. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series as well. I enjoyed this series and this book.i had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. The authors style of writing grabs your attention and keeps it till the end. There are a few twists and turns that had me trying to figure out what happens next. This story is about Princess Rika and Vikar.Rika is the daughter of the beloved protagonists from first two books. She must learn how to harness her power in order to protect her world with Vikars help. Can these two defend their home? I highly recommend reading this Book especially if you want to know what happens. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Starburner (Moonburner Cycle Book 3) by Claire Luana is a wonderfully written amazing fantasy story. It is a part of a series but you can read this one as a standalone. Claire Lunana has an eye for detail and let you see everything she is writing in your mind. This story is about Princess Rika and Vikal. They are brought together because they love their home and it is threatened by soul-eaters. Will they be able to defend their home? Keep reading and you will see why this series is an awesome to read.
Starburner (Moonburner Cycle #3) by Claire Luana captured me just as hard as the others books, and I was a a little shocked by the heart ripping opening.
I love the Moonburner series, needless to say when this book was release, I quickly got my hands on it. It’s slighly different then the others, as the story follows Kai’s daughter, Rika, and her journey to not only find her powers but her truth self. I must say this was a risk, changing the MC in the third book, within the same series. Different yes, unheard of, no, but, it’s not a common practice. I will say that I was a little apprehensive, because I felt like there was still more to Kai’s story that needed closing, but I kept a open mind and dove into this book.
The opening, I’m not going to say much cause, holy hell, what a way to start a book, and rip out your heart before the first act is over. That alone got me hooked, but again made me worried for the rest of the book. My worry was misplaced, because as I got more into the story and the new MC, I was pleasantly shock with how quickly I got attached, and how quickly I became apart of this new chapter in Kai’s life, even if she was not the main focus.
There was major character growth from Rika, especially now looking back form the start of the book until the last. Very different then her mother, but at the same time, you can see much of Kai in her, and that adds something special to this read, and giving it that push Rika needs to not only stand on her own, but sets this book apart from the others. I have to say that for me, that risk, was not only worth it, but made this book, the best in the series.
I’ll leave you with that, because I don’t want to spoil this amazing book. So take my high recommendation that you will be captured but this shot in the dark.
Happy Reading

While this is book 3 in the Moonburner Cycle, I did not read the first 2 books in the series so STARBURNER was a total stand-alone for me. I did not feel like I was stepping into the middle of a story. It absolutely stood on its own.
This is the story of maturing both in age and in skill. It’s the story of destiny and following one’s path. It’s the story of love and understanding. Ultimately it’s the story of how it only takes two people to change the path of what is coming ahead.
I really enjoyed reading this story. What thrilled me at the very beginning was the relationship between mother and daughter. Strong women raising strong women. Also, the way it was broken down in the writing. There are chapters and interludes and books all within the story. None of it was every too long and drawn out. It was the perfect pace for a story.
This is fast paced and full of action. I absolutely recommend this story and will be going back to read the first 2 in the trilogy.
I cannot explain how excited I was to get this book. It’s such a great addition the the Moonburner books and I highly recommend reading them in the order they came out (which means novella third, or else it spoils a couple of thing).
Rika is a brilliant character and has the best bits of her parents (including their most endearing faults). Her thirst to prove herself was palpable and it was for all the right reasons. Her brother was a shortly little toad and I wanted to smack some manners into him.
Vikal is a great addition to the character line up and my heart hurt for everything he went though.
I adored starburner and would absolutely beg for more books from Claire Luana. I would read an entire history of this universe!
Starburner written by Claire Luana is a great story written from time long ago. This is book three in the Moon Burner Cycle Series. The previous two books: Moonburner and Sunburner give more insight into how Starburner came to be, but it can also be read as a standalone. The main characters Rika and Vikal both grow a lot in the story. Vikal a king just trying to honor his kingdom and people, Rika a young girl trying to find her way and her powers. After a lot of loss and newly found love can the Rika and Vikal work together and become what they were destined to. The story itself was good, the transition between scenes went smooth with no questions being asked of confusion on if you missed something. The chemistry between Rika and Vikal is interesting, they took a horrible dark time in their lives and managed to find something positive and bright to help them along their path.
This powerful series was completely captivating. This finale didn’t disappoint in the slightest. This is another powerful story from the author with complex characters and fast moving plot that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could to keep up. Fans of Sarah Maas will certainly be fans of this series and author.
This is the third and final book in this series. This book can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading them in order to help enrich your enjoyment of this series. Princess Rika has a determination to be a moonburner just like her mom. Problem is that her powers are not to be found, can she force them out? I enjoy the characters, they are connectable and relateable. They took me on a journey of monsters and twists and turns that made me keep reading. Don’t want to miss this conclusion
