As Seth And Neely’s Emotional Second Chance Story Finally Winds Up Loose Ends, Everything Seems To Fall Into Place For The Couple, But They Don’t Achieve The Typical HEA Ending.
This is the fourth book in the four part Evermore series. The first part tells the story of the friendship formed between young Neely and her Malibu neighbor Seth when her family moves from Tennessee. The pair becomes best friends for years and finally transitions to boyfriend and girlfriend when she is fifteen and he is sixteen. Neely wants to be an artist and enjoys painting, and Seth wants to follow in his mother’s footsteps to become an actor. But when her father’s affair hits the tabloids, Neely’s mother returns to Tennessee, taking Neely with her. The pair keeps in touch until she breaks up with him during her one and only visit before he leaves for college in New York. Seth had wanted more from her than she was ready to give, and when his mother shared her own concerns about Neely and the relationship, Neely knew it was best they not make promises.
In the second book, Neely has returned to Malibu two years later. Her mother is finally getting the help she needs for her alcoholism, so Neely is finishing high school in California. Living with her father’s mistress-turned-wife proves to be a challenge, but Neely is a survivor and makes it work. She turns to her artwork once again, the only thing that gives her purpose.
After using her new camera to take pictures on the beach on New Year’s Eve, Neely tries but doesn’t escape Seth’s notice. She had heard his family was out of town and thought it was safe. An awkward exchange ends quickly, but when Seth shows up drunk later that evening, he doesn’t seem interested in discussing the past.
Neely faces challenges both with her new stepmother and Seth. Neither can be trusted, and their motivations are not always clear. As she works through her dark times and discovers new facts, she has the support of a new friend to help her through.
The third book opens one year following the epilogue of book two, when Neely appeased her stepmother and agreed to stand in for one scene as Seth’s love interest on the show. Neely is now five weeks away from receiving her associate degree and plans to quit school then work full time. Her friend Jazzy is the only person in her life now, for the most part. Jazzy has repeatedly told Neely that she isn’t living up to her full potential, and despite her deep wells of patience, Jazzy seems to be growing impatient with Neely’s obsession with Seth Drake.
Neely had changed her major to Commercial Photography at the beginning of her second year. Painting had lost its meaning to her a year ago, when she had last seen Seth. She has been working part time for a Hollywoood private investigator, taking pictures of cheating spouses. She needs money, so eventually she gives in and accepts a job working for a tabloid, which happens to pay well. She has become a paparazzi, which she can hardly justify given her disdain for the profession. She continues to follow Seth via the tabloids, punishing herself for the awful way things ended one year ago.
As the story unfolds, Neely flashes back to episodes over the past two years, remembering everything that went so wrong with Seth. Seth’s career and love life appear idyllic from afar. The contrast with her own sad and empty life is night and day, but she doesn’t find it within herself to move on.
Midway through, Seth’s POV is introduced to the series, and several chapters tell his story both now and in the past. He discusses what happened to him when Neely left him that summer, what he was thinking when he arrived at her house drunk, and what really happened the night of the bonfire on the beach. He tells what happened in rose garden, and sheds light on his love life since.
This emotional story finally begins to fill in the blanks, and tears will be shed before it concludes. At least one big secret remains between the couple, though. It will have you grabbing for the final book in the series to see if Seth Drake and Neely Evans finally get their happy ending.
In this final book in the series, Seth and Neely begin their friendship anew. They take their time to get to know one another again, and in the process all their secrets are revealed. But with Seth’s career just taking off the young couple still faces challenges. They remain deeply in love and committed to the idea of making it work, but sometimes all the planning in the world can’t stop life from happening and plans from falling apart. As Seth and Neely’s emotional second chance story finally winds up loose ends, everything seems to fall into place for the couple, but they don’t achieve the typical HEA ending.
The ending is a tear jerker. I hadn’t been prepared for it and it didn’t sit well with me. Although Seth and Neely’s story is beautiful, it will leave you with a book hangover!
Seth and Neely’s angsty story finally brings the childhood best friends together as old wounds begin to heal. The story is well-written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are carefully crafted. They feel genuine. The story is written in first person mostly from Neely’s POV, with several in Seth’s. I rate this book four stars.
If you have read/listened to the Evermore series you know the trials and tribulations that Neely and Seth have endured to get to this final book. It hasn’t been an easy journey for them. I was thrilled and elated that after the drama, angst, betrayal and distance these two where reunited it was a love that was meant to be and could endure almost anything.
One final note, I thought it was sweet that the author included Seth’s movie debut to be one of her books. I’m sure Taz and Lindsay would be thrilled.
Opps I also want to mention the narrator Rachelle Williams did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life.
Thank you Andrea, you know why
Oh my ever-loving-G! What in the world just happened there?! Friendly advice…do not read or listen to the last two chapters just before you have to join a work call. I was a blubbering idiot!
Neely and Seth work through many of their secrets after Seth realizes the biggest secret she kept at the end of the last installment. YAY! It’s time for the HEA and wrap up, right? Maybe a nice, steamy epilogue? Nope. I did NOT see that turn coming but when it did, I was also devastated and in a state of disbelief. Be prepared to have your heart shattered! It reminded me of a Nicholas Sparks’ book where you get reeled in more and more before…BAM! Knocked on the head.
I enjoyed the narration by Rachelle Williams. I’m still feeling too raw to say more than that.
Omg, I’m so invested with this amazing and very emotional love story!! I have never read such a deep and intense love story!
I’m sad that this the last book in such a very addictive series. This author is truly amazing!! To write the characters, the narrative and the plot flawlessly.
Secrets and tears are revealed, such an intriguing story, you can’t help but fall in love with them, I did from Book 1 all the way to this one!!
Well this is the Conclusion to an amazingly beautiful, and not perfect love story. Everything comes out in the open in this book, and yes!! Seth and Neely’s uncontrolled and some which could have been, their lives, their never ending love is concluded in a happily at last, ever after.
This series is a definite must read!!!
OMG! What?! What!! This is a crazy ending to this series! I think i need to go to therapy along with the characters. I seriously have a WTF face right now and obviously I am stuttering (see above). I am shocked, surprised and frustrated. As well as almost bawling.
Watching Neely and Seth move forward in their lives is great. They are really perfect together. I wondered about Seth but he pulled through and made me and Neely happy. When he was applying to play Taz?….ha ha i loved it! It’s a great nod to that series!
I did listen to this on audio. Again Rachelle Williams did an amazing job reading this and being these characters.
I am going to go cry now.
4.5 Shinning Stars!!
This is book #4, and the final installment in the fabulous Evermore series. Star F*cking is a wild rollercoaster ride of emotions that got me hooked right from the start.
Seth and Neely were always meant to be together. Their love was really destined to endure whatever life has thrown at them, and their reward should be a long life of happiness together.
Rachelle Williams’s performance brought this story to life. She was able to capture and evoked what the characters were feeling throughout their journey. The only thing in a way missing, is that I would have loved a duel narration (this is my personal thinking, though).
All in all this was an amazing series, sorry can’t share more because I don’t want to give anything away.
I have no words for how this book made me feel. Neely and Seth have been in love since the day they met as almost-teens. Their friendship endured over the years and with so much happiness, but too much pain. They were split apart by people who didn’t want to see them together, but they did the most damage to themselves. When something seemed wrong, they didn’t talk it through. When someone interfered, they didn’t get to the bottom of it. In the end, nothing succeeded in keeping them apart. Neely and Seth finally made their way back to one another and the lies and secrets that kept them apart are all exposed. Better yet, they are finally sharing all their thoughts and actions of the time they were apart. They finally found pure happiness and their hopes and dreams for the future are coming true. All it takes is a text, a voice mail and a call to change her life. The ending is not what I want, but it’s powerful! When everything is left behind, hope remains.
I’m not quite sure how to write a review for this book. It is absolutely amazing as far as a last book in a series goes but it broke me as well. Even with it having broke me, I would still recommend to my friends as it is an emotional roller coaster of a series. There is a twist that no one will see coming. Narration is done beautifully.
Star F*cking is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Rachelle Williams. This is the final book in the Evermore series.
Andrea did an amazing job wrapping up this series. She took me on emotional roller coaster. I cannot wait to read more of her work.
Rachelle did an amazing job on the narration. I loved that she used different voices/tones for each character. She really made the story come to life.

Star F*cking
Evermore Series, Book 4
By: Andrea Smith
Narrated by: Rachelle Williams
Wow, Andrea Smith just blew my mind with this epic conclusion of her “Evermore Series” I’d say more but I do not want to spoil anything for anyone. I loved this series and the lead characters , all their drama, the angst, the heartfelt moments and the heartbreaking ones. Neely & Seth’s journey was not an easy one, they meet as teenagers, their friendship turns into love, but the universe had other plans for them but they finally make it back to each other. All the misunderstandings, the manipulations that kept them apart are just part of their history. They are finally in a good place and where they belong, together. Their love is a great love and it is for “evermore”. I highly recommend this series, each book is well written with interesting storylines that are enjoyable and entertaining, they will captivate you from start to end. Andrea Smith, thank you for this great series, the stunning ending, it has left me speechless.
I listened to the Audible edition, Rachelle Williams is a talented narrator and voice artist. She did an amazing job portraying the characters, giving each their own voice and personality and bringing them to life. You could hear how much heart she put into her work as she projects the character’s passion and emotions into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen
I was given an Audible version of this book from Story Origin and here is my voluntary review. So this is the final book to a four book series. I had only read book 2 and that was a year ago.
I didn’t feel too lost, but could tell I had missed a few facts. I enjoyed these characters so much, I plan to go back and catch the other books! So, I was listening along to this story thinking, “how sweet and happy everything is.” They are so in love. Written in dual POV, which I really appreciate. They are both maturing and becoming closer by the day. I’m on pins and needles. I know something has to go wrong, we always have conflict………but what?!?
I really enjoyed this narrator. Different voices for each character. One character sounded like my sister in law! Great job!
Star F–king
Evermore Series, Book 4
By: Andrea Smith
Narrated by: Rachelle Williams
I couldn’t wait to listen to the conclusion of Seth and Neely’s story! There is so much that still needs to be worked through, secrets that need to be revealed and love to be expressed. My heart is completely invested in this couple and I needed to know. Andrea Smith finishes out this journey with secrets revealed, a love connection like no other and a shock that makes your head spin. I loved every minute of their journey, the laughs, the tears and the love and am so glad I got to listen it! Rachelle Williams finishes out the series with an emotional performance. This is a series you do not want to miss.

Neely and Seth get a fresh start by talking everything out. Neely still has her self doubts, but she learns dwelling on their own past differences and mistakes will only hurt them both emotionally. Their life, love and trust is forever. As Seth told her, “It’s always been you Neely, It’s always been you.”
Andrea Smith draws out all the emotions in this last story in this series. Wow What a conclusion to this amazing series that I didn’t see coming.
Rachelle Williams is the perfect narrator for this series. She captured the voices and emotions of every character flawlessly. Absolute perfection.
I was gifted this audio an offered my honest review.
The 4th and final installment of Andrea Smith’s Evermore series. I don’t even know where to being. First – this entire series has captivated me from the beginning. I could not get enough of Neely and Seth. This book will not be what you expect – and while I loved it, I hated it too. The writing is so powerful in this series that I shed tears on more than one occasion and with this book I literally sobbed for Neely. How much pain should one person go thru in life before they are able to find a HEA. I completely fell in love all over again with the characters they grew to be…so much character growth and love. Performance was incredible as well the writting. I think I have a new favorite writer after this series…
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
Oh my what a wonderful, wonderful read, I loved Seth and Neely so much. I loved that they were finally in a place to get their happy ever after, I loved that Seth knew exactly what he wanted, and the fact that Neely too was happy. The fact that they faced their past and discussed their true feelings made my heart happy. I’ve followed these two from the beginning and I was rooting for them from the get-go. The story was a true romance, and the fact that Seth got an acting gig in the movie ‘Love Plus One’ (taken from the book), was the icing on the cake, what a clever and fun addition to the storyline. It made my day. I was sad that they had so much missed time together, and I still can’t forgive her mother for the things she did. I’m a crier, so I found some bits super emotional and shed more than a few tears. As usual the writing, story and characters are fantastic. Rachelle Williams narrates both Seth and Neely perfectly.
