Wow. Once I walking into the world of the Bright Young Things I was absolutely lost to it and I could not walk away. I loved the concept of this book and the brilliant scenes Staci painted for us.. I wanted everything Levi laid out for us in his articles… to be apart of that group, to attend these unbelievable parties and just live right there along side these characters, in their world. Oh what a life to live.
Outside of that, I enjoyed how I immediately fell for these characters, I loved the pull and connection between Levi and Stella and the banter between all of her friends.. it made me want to stick around for more!
I am a little confused with Warren and where that all came from and started. I felt a little left hanging with that plot line but I think Staci Hart might have left it that way on purpose to continue into the following books.. I hope.
Let’s just say I will definitely be picking up the next one when it releases.. anything to be back with the friends I feel like I made in this story.
So good. So so good.
Sometimes you read a book and it just does it for you. THIS was that book for me. I have read many of Staci Hart’s books, but this is definitely moving to the top. It is beautiful. It’s unique. And it’s just magic! It’s a stunning display of a concept that worked for the characters and their storyline and how they live their lives with passion and heart.
Star Bright takes you to a world that is full of glitz and glamour. The Bright Young Things are a group in NYC that are young, beautiful and rich. They throw the best parties that only the elite are invited to. To get in is not easy. This group is a family and they are there for each other. But who is the one throwing these over the top parties? That’s the question on everyone’s lips. And only a sneaky interloper may find out.
The public was thirsty AF for details, for deeper insight into the fantasy the group provided. Was there a higher purpose, or were they just a bunch of disparaging youths, parading their elite and exclusive group around to tease the masses?
Levi is a friend of one of the BYT. He has snatched an invite into his first party and he is blown away. He is a journalist with a background that doesn’t fit with the Bright Young Things. He is successful in his own right, but he isn’t elite. He had to work his way from the ashes to get where he is at. He is there for a job only. But what (or rather who) catches his attention? Will he be able to see his mission to the end?
Stella is the brightest star in her group. She shines right off the page. She is a character that I never wanted to see get hurt. She has created a world of magic and is always there for anyone that needs her. She trusts and loves easily, but that has hindered her judgment on a man that she thought was more than a friend. But when she sees a new guy walk into one of their parties, all bets are off. Who is this Levi and how can she spend more time with him?
Oh my goodness. I can’t even. I can’t say enough good things about the supporting characters (please, please can we get a Z book!!), the unique premise of the story and the way everything flowed so well. Even the drama and conflict didn’t feel like it was just thrown in there, it was part of the plot from the first page. I never felt like the story slowed down and it was always moving at a steady pace, flowing together seamlessly. I got to know all the characters and fall in love with them. You don’t get just Stella and Levi, you get a whole family of beautiful human beings. I even got to see Stella and Levi battle what they thought they believed in and change and grow as the story went along. Lies and keeping truths from one another isn’t the best way to start a relationship, but even then they always stayed true to who they were. Like I said above, it’s pure magic.
Overall this book was an absolute pleasure to read. The beauty of the escapism in this very moment was so needed. It is a well crafted story of life and living and the secrets that lie behind them. It’s a story of this group creating a family. It left me wanting more in the best possible way. I fell in love with the BYT and cannot wait for more. Good thing this is only the beginning of a new series because believe me, you are going to fall hard for this story, this world and these characters. Stella and Levi were absolute perfection, but we’ve only just begun. Can’t wait for more!!
The Bright Young Things celebrate a singular, spectacular gift we all possess. That we are alive…………:we are alive, and what a magnificent thing that is.
Overall Grade: 1/2
WARNING: This will be an essay, not a short review. If you want to know a general impression, then know this: Staci Hart is a genius, and Star Bright’s story is engaging, entertaining, and exacting. There is something special with this story that sets it apart from your average romance. It isn’t average for Staci Hart’s brand of romance, though. What you will find in Star Bright is more of the same insightful, intelligent, beautifully written romance that you’ve received from her before. Just on another level. So buckle up or move on…it’s entirely up to you.
In my second year of my master’s in literature, I took a seminar class entitled Hemingway and Fitzgerald. The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books of all time, and I absolutely enrolled in that class quickly. With this class along with the rest of my master’s, I spent quite a bit of focus on the modernists (in fact, I wrote most of my master’s thesis on Hemingway): authors, writing during a time post-WW1, whose general character reflected a generation disillusioned by the consequences of war. If you read almost anyone during this period, there is a loss of hope. These aren’t books with happy endings because the war had killed almost an entire generation of men. These were artists who wanted their literature to reflect the lack of hope for this generation, and it does. F. Scott Fitzgerald absolutely illustrates this time and time again in his stories. It isn’t just The Great Gatsby that leaves you feeling a little empty; the other books do the same. You’re probably wondering why I’m sharing this with you. Well, if you read Star Bright, you are reading a book that reads as though it is heavily influenced by Fitzgerald. Staci Hart’s hero feels very much like Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby: an outsider with insider leanings. They feel as though they never quite fit, but they are given entree into this world of decadence, debauchery, and hedonism. Where Nick and Levi diverge is in Levi taking on a true heroic characterization. In Gatsby, Nick feels like an observer, engaging with the other main characters, but it isn’t really his story. He is simply telling it. In Hart’s Star Bright, there is a sameness here. Like Nick, Levi is an observer, and he too is telling the story of the Bright Young Things; however, his presence is also necessary to the shape of the story. He is the impetus for change Hart’s heroine, Stella’s thinking. Herein lies the beginning of Hart’s genius in her story, Star Bright. Her ability to capture the essence of Gatsby, offer it the spirit of the 2020s, and lay it out in a story that is still vastly different from Fitzgerald’s is her brilliance.
You might say, well, Amy, Professor A, isn’t that a huge promise? No. Staci Hart hit my radar a little over a year ago. I read my first ARC of hers, and quite frankly, I gave it a 4-star review. At the time, I didn’t understand it. However, as the months passed, my brain pondered over that book. Additionally, I read the first book of her newer series, Coming Up Roses, and I realized immediately that I had missed something with my review. I met her at Book Bonanza, and I asked her my big question, the one that had been pressing in my brain since finishing Coming Up Roses, and it was at that moment when I placed her on a pedestal. I couldn’t help it because I realized immediately that her brilliance lies in her intentionality. She oftentimes writes books inspired by the classics. And she does this by co-opting a particular voice for a particular story. Just to clue you in, this is very hard to do. Most authors have a general writing voice that you find in all of their stories. The more you read their writing, the more easily it is to find that voice. Not Staci Hart. She changes the voice of the book to match its story. For Star Bright, her story and voice absolutely feel like Fitzgerald. There are so many moments when the decadence of his storytelling becomes hers. But here is where her genius also lies: Hart captures the feel of Fitzgerald without the modernist leanings. Life is difficult for the Bright Young Things. Even though we know they are lavishly rich, each of them struggles with something. Instead of mimicking Fitzgerald’s hopelessness in her book, Hart gives them hope. Their hope is derived from their manufactured sense of family, and it buoys them through their individual challenges. It’s a testament to Hart’s writing ability that she can evoke Fitzgerald in her book, but the reason you should read her books is she makes the storytelling her own. Even though Fitzgerald belonged to a larger group of “friends,” he and his friends still felt isolated. And that isolation runs rampant through their books. That isn’t a characteristic of Star Bright. In fact, you find the true treasure of Star Bright: its message of family and community. That is where Hart has found hope for her readers, and Fitzgerald could not.
And once again, Staci Hart’s style is decadent. Her descriptions are decadent; her characterizations are decadent, and her story feels decadent. There are big cinematic moments in this book that run like a reel through your mind. There are words that Levi and Stella and the other Bright Young Things speak that bring goosebumps to your limbs. Each turn of the page ingratiates itself into your being, and you don’t want to put this story down because you care about characters whom you probably wouldn’t normally. Hart uses the metaphor of light and dark to conjure up Levi’s conflict while also holding him in juxtaposition to the light of this story, Stella. If you have EVER wanted to read a story written with intention and decided skill, this IS the book. Even more, there is more of this series to come with a plentitude of characters for any situation. For me, Zeke is a standout, and I am hoping that Staci Hart brings him a story.
I know this review is long (I promised an essay), and it might be reading more into this book than necessary, but these words have been sitting in my mind for days and they needed someplace on a page. I know this isn’t the typical review, but this book is doing something more than offering you a beautifully-wrought romance. What you find nestled between the pages of Star Bright is the hope of community. Hidden within its fun, you’ll find people who truly love, adore, and care for each other. And in our current world, I think we could all use that hope. Staci Hart could have easily used Star Bright to reflect on the problems of our world, leaving us disenfranchised just as the modernists did. Instead, she chose the light, letting the shadows stay in the dark.
Its no secret I Absolutely love Staci Hart’s writing and this one was phenomenal! It is seriously completing for the top slot as one of my favourite reads from her.
This was an incredible start to this new series and a fantastic introduction to a intriguing and slightly mysterious cast of characters. I only say mysterious as in i can’t wait to get to know them and read their stories.
I loved Stella and Levi, they are complete opposites and their connection and chemistry was off the charts hot!
Staci has done an amazing job weaving this world and story telling the speakeasies and circuses that you honestly feel like you are smack in the middle of this extravagant world.
With truths being tested and trust pushed you will be completely hooked and wanting this story to continue with the next one.
Star Bright mixes all of the glitz and glamour you think of when it comes to socialites and debutantes with the raw, emotional baggage of yearning for a place to fit in.
Levi and Stella’s story was fantastic, from start to finish. He’s a grown-up foster kid after a career-changing scoop. She’s a socialite making a family of her own choosing. When they meet at a Bright Young Things party, sparks fly and the attraction is immediate. But Levi is an outsider when it comes to the exclusive party clique and Stella is one of the core insiders, making this the ultimate opposites-attract romance.
What I really loved about Levi and Stella is that aside from their differences in social class, they just clicked so well. Everyone has the same feelings and hurts on the inside. Initially, Levi lies about the fact that he is a reporter, so Stella is understandably wary that he is trying to uncover the identity of Cecelia, the hostess of the BYT parties. And she is desperate to keep Cecelia’s identity a secret for many reasons. And when the fallout happens between them over who Cecelia really is, they both make grand gestures to make it up to the other person. But I really loved that Stella chases after Levi to make things right.
There is a fantastic circle of friends among the Bright Young Things, whom I figure will be the other characters/couples in this series. I can’t wait to see how the rest of this unfolds. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
If you ever wanted to explore the fun and glitz and glamour of Gatsby in modern times, this is just the book for you!
A new group of the comfortably rich, young and fabulous in their own secret society, centering around exclusive parties and living life. But don’t worry, this book is not all surface as an outsider might see the group. It explores depth, pasts, pains and motivations.
Levi is a reporter entering the world of the Bright Young Things, determined to experience it all, and maybe even unearth some of their secrets. Instead, he finds Stella. Someone whose path he didn’t imagine he would cross, but they continue to do so, and things heat up! Levi doesn’t come from the upper echelons, but makes him all the more intriguing to Stella – and anyone really. A hot outsider with a sensitive soul, and some amazing passions that are just catnip!
Stella, on the other hand, has the sweet life – or so it looks from the outside. But there is so much more underneath the surface. And then she tries to fill the void with her ragtag team of friends and roommates and bubbly happiness.
But once these two meet, the truths they hide from clash and explode. But how fun to see.
Staci Hart draws you into a new world that we all would want to play in. Join the BYT and embrace life, enjoy all the fun and stop to smell the roses!
New York City is abuzz with anything and everything to do with the dazzling and effervescent Bright Young Things. They’re young, glamorous, and rich, and their events are the envy of anyone who loves a good time. But, getting an invitation into a Bright Young Things party is highly sought after… and nearly impossible to achieve…
Levi Hunt is a reporter poised to tell the world about just what happens at a Bright Young Things event, and once he attends his first party, he is absolutely hooked. They are just as brilliant and decadent as the rumors surrounding them. But perhaps, the most intriguing aspect of the Bright Young Things is one of it’s core members, Stella Spencer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Star Bright was a extravagant celebration of friendship and love, all wrapped up in the most fabulously glitzy and unrestrained events. Stella and Levi come from very different worlds, but the moment they lay eyes on each other, their attraction is it’s own living and breathing force, and impossible to ignore. And while an interlude between Levi and Stella seems inevitable, Levi has been keeping a very big secret, one which could ruin the Bright Young Things forever…
This book was everything I have been waiting for in a reading escape! The imagery and glamour of the Bright Young Things parties was a luxurious treat, but what really surprised me was the innocent joys to be learned from this indulgent, yet rock solid group of friends.
Stella Spencer has found family in her group of friends. She is filthy rich and absolutely gorgeous, but she also has the most giving and kind heart. After a recent heart break, she isn’t looking for another romance to fall into, but meeting Levi changes everything.
Levi is a reporter whose infiltration of the Bright Young Things is going to propel his writing career. But when word of his articles gets out to the group, he faces losing much more than just his “in” to the parties.
Staci Hart has outdone herself with this intoxicating new series! I am so beyond excited to follow the trail of excess and glamour introduced in Star Bright, and can not wait to read more about their extravagant outfits, the over-the-top decorations and party details, and all of the rest of the craziness that the Bright Young Things have in store…
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
4.5-stars!
I am always excited to read anything by Staci Hart. I absolutely love her writing and characters so much. In Star Bright, the first book in her new Bright Young Things series, we get a story about secret society parties and those involved in them. Stella is the secret organizer of the best society parties in town, but no one really knows who she is and that is the way she wants to keep it. The parties are extravagant, secretive and only the elite of the elite are invited.
Levi is determined to get the story on the parties and reveals all their secrets. So, when he gets a chance to attend, he needs to keep his wits. But when Levi and Stella meet, the sparks fly. However, both must keep their secrets. I loved reading their journey and holding my breath waiting to see how it would all fall apart. I absolutely loved Star Bright by Staci Hart and am excited to see what comes next in the series!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Staci Hart never disappoints, and this book is an incredible new story from an incredible author. The characters are beautifully developed and well-written, the romance sexy and steamy, and the twists and turns keep you turning every page. I cannot wait for what is next!
The Bright Young Things is a group of privileged people who have extravagant parties thrown by a mysterious Cecelia Beaton, and only the elite get invited. Levi Hunt is a journalist who wants to get to the bottom of who Cecelia Beaton is. He tags along to one of the parties with a friend of his from college, Ash. While at the party Levi is introduced to the beautiful socialite, Stella Spencer. Stella is a young heiress who surrounds herself with her friends. Her parents are wealthy, but have never been around. Levi and Stella are mutually attracted to one another, but she makes him earn his chance with her. They face a few difficulties along the way that they have to figure out how to overcome to be together.
I LOVED this story. It is honestly my favorite Staci Hart book to date. I enjoyed the whole concept of the story and the characters were amazing as well. I devoured this book as quickly as possible and I was sad when I was done. The story was amazing, but was sad to have it come to an end. I can’t wait to see who’s story is next. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
I am so into this series already! Can’t wait for the next book to be released! I fell into this rabbit hole since the very first sentence of Star Bright. I love the idea behind it. I am all for the dazzling parties and lavish lifestyle but also for the mysteries and secrets that are hidden behind closed doors. I’m addicted to it. There was a little bit of everything but mostly it was a fun, intriguing and swoony read.
Levi is to die for. I absolutely love him. He is smart, charming AND so sweet. While Stella is funny and will make you want to be her friend instantly. These two together are explosive and will put a smile on your face with their shenanigans.
Fun, intriguing and swoony.
Star Bright by Staci Hart
Staci Hart just knows how to write. Oh my goodness. I can’t even. I can’t say enough good things about this book Star Bright.
I honestly didn’t think Staci Hart could top her self but oh boy does she ever. Let me just say that this book is sensational.
Get ready for an experience of a lifetime, a story that will take you on an elaborate ride to a world made of glitz and glitter and oh so much more.
I loved that Stella & Levi had such incredible chemistry, from the very first moment that they saw each other. When you read it you can’t help but know that they are two halves of a whole. I just love how she writes their banter so fun & flirty and I couldn’t get enough of it. To me Stella was such an amazing character, and let’s be honest someone I would love to know. And everyone needs in their corner. As for Levi, he was written so perfectly that I had my doubts about him at first, who wouldn’t right but then he just sucked me in with his charm. Then there were the rest of the Bright Young Things. I was expecting to not like them but they were fun, and real and oh so amazing. I really hope that their stories are as good or better and I can’t wait for their stories, especially Z who is officially my new favorite character.
This book has it all a sense of magic from the elaborate parties. Young people trying to find their place in this world and romance.
Be prepared to get caught up in the opulence and decadence of the Star Bright world, as well as to fall absolutely head over heels in love with Levi and Stella’s romance. The undercurrent of the story is a secret society of the rich elite, The Bright Young Things, who are always throwing exclusive, elaborate parties, spending their money with no care in the world. I love how the tight knit group of friends is like one big family, celebrating life at any chance they can get. The way that Staci wrote and described each party, I could imagine myself there, taking part in the wild ride that Stella orchestrated, the feeling of a carefree life giving me a happy and joyous feeling while reading.
Stella and Levi meet, there is a spark of heat and attraction, neither can resist the pull to be together. Despite the attraction, each has something to hide, especially Levi’s profession, his secret as the story flowed definitely gave me a little anxiety ok maybe a lot. As he began to fall hard and fast for Stella, the longer he withheld the truth to keep his dreams alive, the more my heart ached for the impending implosion of what they had.. But my heart survived and the journey they take together is a whirlwind romance full of magical parties and hot as hell sex. I loved that Levi and Stella turn out to be kindred souls just looking for that one person to truly belong to. Oh and the underlying mystery of why the police commissioner is after the group had me guessing! I really am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Star Bright is an adventure that will leave you wanting to be a Bright Young Thing. Staci Hart has a way of creating a world where the characters draw you in and you feel like a part of their world. This book was such a fun read and the perfect summer escape. Stella is a bright star that shines love onto her friends in need or just overall because that’s just the person she is, except for her secret. Then we have Levi, a reporter who is going to get the story to get his dream assignment, find out about the parties the Bright Young Things throw and who is Ceceila Beaton? The one thing Levi didn’t plan for was Stella. Levi and Stella hit it off and take us on an incredible adventure that you won’t be able to put down. Levi and Stella get swept up in the parties, each other, their own goals, but what happens when secrets are revealed and trust is broken? Read this book, you will not be disappointed and I cannot wait to see what the rest of this new series has in store!!!
I have to admit the premise had me shaking my head. I thought there’s no way I’m going to like this. But I love Staci’s books so I gave it a shot. Once I got to reading I was intrigued by the underground parties. I’m not a party person but even I wanted to snag an invite to one of them. While I could see the Gatsby influence I don’t think you needed to be familiar with that story to like this story. I want to grab coffee with Stella and ask her a few questions that I felt were left unanswered. I know this is only the first book in the series so maybe they’ll be answered in later books.
Rate: 4,5 / 5 stars
I legit love the idea and aesthetic of this series. Can y’all imagine if this was a thing?! I’d want to be a part of this secret society so bad! Can I at least live through it a netflix series?? Make it happen omg.
Ok, ok. I’ve calmed down ahah. But for real, this was an amazing introduction to what is bound to be an epic series! I am so curious about who the next couple will be but I’ll legit take anyone, I just want more!
An undercover journalist who falls in love with the mystery woman behind the secret society that has everyone curious, furious and freaking jealous. Can we talk about epic plotline? The secret Stella and her friends hold so close is the secret Levi is out to uncover. Neither of them expects the other nor for their no strings attached fun to turn into the love of their life. There are many secrets between them, a boss forcing Levi’s hand, a comissioner threating Stella and the Bright Young Things and who knows who else but together they face it all… the exboyfriend drama, the secrets and lies, the comissioner and anything that will stand in their way. These two are from different sides of the tracks but together they are magic, they are fireworks.
Star Bright is a fabulous, vivid and aesthetically pleasing story that felt like such a breath of fresh air. It’s got drama, secrets and a little mystery. It’s one book you’ll wish you could jump into its pages and become one its characters so you could live through one of their fabulously epic and fun parties.
Although Stella and Levi’s story wraps up, the mystery plotline is not entirely solved and it probably won’t be until the last book in the series. I don’t know how many there will be, nor who the couples are but I’m guessing that each book in the series is of a different couple but the major mystery plotline will only wrap up in the last book so keep that in mind. I honestly love when this happens, although I don’t like waiting too much, I love the part where I get to come up with all the theories and then see how much those stories match or differ from the actual book. That’s always super fun for me and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
4.5 ‘The brightest star in the sky’ Stars!
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
A brand new sparkly world from Staci Hart? Count me in! Ever heard of the Bright Young Things? Well, Staci’s new series is based on them and she gives us a modern spin on this group of bohemian young socialites who loved to throw glamorous and decadent parties. Star Bright is the introduction to this new world and its people and trust me when I say, you’ll want to live in it (crazy parties included!).
Star Bright is the first installment in the Bright Young Things series and it tells the story of Stella Spencer, the mysterious benefactor and organizer of the lavish parties everyone wants to get invited in: also, known as Cecilia Beaton. We are presented with a group of rich party animals who love the glamorous life but not everything is sunshine and rainbows. Everyone has a story and what this is truly all about is connection. In one of these parties, Stella meets Levi Hunt. Sparks fly and they start a no-strings relationship that turns out to be so much more. But both have secrets and Stella has the police commissioner on her tail. Will their love survive after everything is brought to light?
Everyone wanted to know what it was like to be a Bright Young Thing.
I am already addicted to the plot of this new series and the amazing crew Staci has created! Star Bright is so different from any romance I’ve read in a while, the theme making it fresh and dazzling. It was all about the glitz, the family created between this misunderstood group, the mystery around Cecilia Beaton and the connection between the couple. I just loved Stella and Levi. I loved their imperfect relationship, which starts with secrets on both parts (Levi is a journalist infiltrated to get a story) but all that is left aside when it comes to the burning chemistry and the beautiful bond between these two.
What we felt for each other was bigger than we would admit, more than we could afford.
And we both knew it.
I just felt the sparks between this couple from the very first page and trust me when I say, things get SCORCHING HOT. That first sex scene? Man, I am still burning! And it is obvious feelings start growing instantly even though both Stella and Levi try not to (especially because of the secrets and also because Levi is set to leave to cover the war in Syria). I loved getting a bit of everything in this romance, including even a bit of suspense. But my favorite thing obviously is the relationship formed between this couple. I just loved how they clicked and I loved their ending.
My life has never been so bright as it’s been since you.
Therefore, I am rating Star Bright with 4.5 STARS since it has been the perfect introduction to the Bright Young Things series. I loved the glamour, the sparkle, the friend group, the mystery, the suspense, and of course, the couple. I loved this new theme and how Staci developed it. I cannot wait to read whatever is next in the series and I hope we are getting loads of stories because I love these characters. Highly recommend to read this one!
Starting something new from an author I enjoy always reminds me of entering the pool by walking down the stairs vs just jumping in.
Star Bright is the first book of the new Bright Young Things series and focuses on socialite Stella Spencer and journalist Levi Hunt. On paper, these two shouldn’t work, but from their first meeting they click and I wanted to see more of them together.
Ms Hart does an excellent job of weaving in the world building of the Bright Young things into the developing relationship between Levi and Stella. There is just the right amount of focus on friendships and other pieces of the puzzle that I want to know more about the secondary cast and events surrounding them. But Stella, Levi, and the issues they have are not over powered.
Star Bright is well written and entertaining from the very beginning. Full of prose and dynamic characters, this is a story that shows the grass may not be greener on the other side. I was pulled in relating to people whose experiences are vastly different from my own, but I found myself wanting them to find their happy. The approach to the conflict between Stella and Levi was unique and i can’t wait to see what may be coming next for the rest of the Bright Young Things.
Star Bright is the exciting and refreshing new romance that I have been searching for. The plot was unique and thoroughly entertaining. Staci Hart has created a world filled with glitz, glamour and parties that one could only dream of attending. Star Bright is a story that is so unexpected that it knock you off your feet and leave you begging for more. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t 100% sure what I was getting myself into when I picked up this book. All I really heard was new book from Staci Hart, and I knew I had to get my hands on it. And let me tell you, Staci Hart does not disappoint. Star Bright is both exciting and thrilling, and will leave readers salivating as they burn through the pages.
From the moment I met both Levi and Stella, I was hooked. You see, Levi scored the unbelievable, a coveted invite to one of the most prestigious parties. But, Levi isn’t just there to have a good time. No, Levi is there to undercover the truth about these to die for parties and hopes to uncover the mastermind behind it all. But what Levi didn’t plan on was meeting Stella. Stella is one of the elite, the core members to the secret society. And just one moment with Stella, turns Levi’s entire world upside down. Everyone has secrets and truths they want to keep hidden. But, the more time Levi spends with Stella, the more the lines get blurred. The pull between them is impossible to ignore. Levi knows that being with Stella is a bad idea, but he just can’t stay away……
I thoroughly enjoyed Star Bright. This book was such a fun read. The plot was refreshing and kept me glued to the pages. I fell in love with Levi and Stella instantly. Not only were they easy to connect with, but I easily got lost in the two of them. While Stella was a member of the elite, she never really acted spoiled or privileged. Levi was Stella’s exact opposite. He wasn’t used to the world of glitz and glam and what privilege offered. But, they never let those facts get in their way. There was just an ease with these two and it just pulled me to them. Their connection was one that was instant, yet undeniable and it just oozed off the pages. Levi and Stella’s road to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one. Naturally, there were some bumps along the way. Levi and Stella both had some issues with trust and honesty. Neither one of them being perfect. At the end of the day, I was utterly captivated by the two of them and couldn’t wait to see how their story would come together in the end.
Star Bright is the first book in the Bright Young Things Series and gives us one heck of an introduction to this dazzling world. This story was unexpected in the best way possible and I loved every second of it. From the romance and steam, to glitz and glamour and a little mystery in between. This book was a joy to spend my day getting lost in. All I have left to say is when can I get my hands on the next book in this series???
Bright Star was engaging, fresh and original. Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Five Sparkly Stars!!
WOW wow wow. Staci Hart has truly outdone herself yet again! I went in thinking this would be a fun Gatsby-meets-Gossip Girl romp, and while that is certainly true, it’s so much more! It’s stunningly written and delves masterfully into that where do I belong? mentality that so many of us struggle with.
Rich, poor, whatever, everyone has struggled to know where they fit in, who they can really trust, who has their best interests at heart.
The writing in this book is so astonishingly beautiful. Each book I’ve read from Staci Hart has been more and more poetic. While I’ve loved every book I’ve ever read from her, this one has risen even above my exacting standards. She’s somehow leveled up her already staggeringly perfect prose.
