This page turner had me enthralled from the first page. This is sexy, erotic and intelligent….. Books and Beyond Fifty Shades.
What a freaking amazingly hot book!!!!…… Give Me Books.
Holiday romances are supposed to be fun…..and quick…….not burned into your damn brain.
My skin is branded with her name, my heart is branded with her betrayal and now seven years later I have been forced to … I have been forced to return to find that she is just as perfect as ever, the ultimate temptation.
I don’t want her and I definitely can’t have her.
I just need to get my libido to keep up with my brain.

This is my first dip in the T.L. Swan pool, and I think I’m in trouble. This is the first installment of the epic love story of Josh and Natasha.
Their story is filled with drama, angst and lots of heat! As this is the first book in the series it does come with a cliffhanger, but not to fear at this time the whole series is available for you to binge, which is definitely what i plan to do this weekend!
Take a chance on this couple and all the ups and downs of their relationship. Be there for the highs and lows and everything in between.
100% INFURIATING, PASSIONATE & ADDICTIVE!
I feel like I won’t be able to form complete & coherent thoughts about this book but I’m going to try!
I really can’t remember the last book that I read that had me this enraged.
I don’t even know if I like the main characters…except I kinda love them but yep….I definitely hate them too! I can’t even go into why I love or hate them, because if you go down this road…IF you choose to read this book you’re going to need those little surprises along the way to snag onto your heart and keep you going. Because in no way possible is this an easy read! Everything works against these two and their love INCLUDING their own minds! I will say that you could FEEL the attraction seeping from the pages but man, what I wouldn’t give to have more of what bonded them together so intricately in the first place! OH AND their crew….their family & friends…I LOVE THEM!! When all of them get together, you can bank on things getting entertaining & hilarious!
It was just so sweet then irritating then sexy….like REALLY REALLY SEXY then dramatic then swoony and before you can really bask in that delicious swooned glow…BAM…you just really want to throw your kindle & punch a fictional character…or two!
But then the strangest thing! You pick the kindle right back up….in your mind you’re wondering whyyyyyy can’t I stop reading this! But before you can even think of an answer to your own question you’re sucked right back in to the Stanton world. Must have had SUCKER written across my forehead…because here I am downloading book 2.
I have no idea how Swan accomplished it but I am now 100% addicted to this world!
**I will also point out, this is Swan’s first book. There are some mistakes in this one and it also bounced between first and third person a few times which left me feeling confused at moments.
So please keep that in mind before and as you’re reading. I am hoping for the author growth that I feel is inevitable in her future books as I move into book 2 of this world!
Ah was I addicted to this story? Yes.
Would I have read it if my book friend didn’t spoil the ending/truth? No.
I am not a huge fan of incest/taboo family romances, so didn’t really feel connected to ever pick this book up as the main hero and heroine are stated as first cousins. However, NOW I HAVE PUT ON HIDE REVIEW BECAUSE OF SPOILERS SO IF YOU ARE READING THIS, YOU WILL READ A SPOILER NEXT
*****
OF COURSE THEY ARE NOT FIRST COUSINS! And because I knew that big “reveal secret” when reading, I enjoyed it more. It was also obvious when reading that the hero’s mum had a huge secret so even if I went into this book blind, I have a feeling I would have picked it.
*****
This romance is second chance, friends to lovers, which I love. Two of my favourite tropes! So I enjoyed their back and forth romance story of either fighting to be apart (because they thought they were cousins) or fighting to be together (because love rules all).
But unfortunately, I did not connect with the main heroine at all; Natasha. She was very self absorbed, a drama queen (which is funny because the hero; Josh actually calls her once several times and I wanted to high give him for that), and she is also very negative. She may “love” Josh with all heart, but she doesn’t respect his wishes. He clearly is uncomfortable with the fact they are cousins and she does not care. She is very fiery and I found myself having to have a break from her drama. She continues to doubt Josh, even though she is the one who ended things. She also gives Josh a lot of guilt for sleeping with so many women because “she waited”, but as Josh points out – She meanwhile had 2x other men propose to her in the time they were apart! In my mind, falling in love to the point where the partner proposes is worse then mindless sex. But of course, Natasha ALWAYS HAS TO BE THE VICTIM.
Otherwise the hero; Josh. He was charming, but the way he spoke to Natasha at times was also not nice or necessary. He called her “his beautiful slut” and even though she loved that – It made me cringe.
I read this through kindle unlimited in the “trilogy”. I adore TL Swan, with two of my all time favourite romance books being The Stopover and The Takeover, but the writing in this book was quite subpar. It went from heroine POV to third person, to duel POV to hero POV then back to third person again. The story also jumped a bit where I thought a chapter break was necessary. Now I am not sure if that is my kindle version I read? But either way, being a reader like I am, I found this a bit frustrating.
ALL IN ALL that cliffhanger at the end I WAS SPEECHLESS! Yes not the cliffhanger where you find out they aren’t actually related, but THE OTHER ONE! Which made me jump straight into the sequel! I cannot wait to keep reading this trilogy, but also this series – I adore Cam and cannot wait to read Dr Stanton after I finish the trilogy.
All in all, I didn’t love this book but I definitely am addicted to Natasha and Josh’s love story.
3/5 Stars with 4/5 Steam rating.
Joshua Stanton and Natasha Marx fell in live then lost each other for seven years. Neither has ever really moved on and now he’s back. Can they pick up where they left off? Theirs is a taboo love affair. It’s volatile. It’s white hot sexy. It’s filled with jealousy and recriminations. It’s full of tenderness and love. Acceptance is the key. Not only of themselves but of each other.
WOW! Joshua Stanton is a GOD!! What a read!
Natasha and Josh were in love. But there was something forbidden about their love, knowing that Josh has the chance to make something of his live and become a success she did the one thing that hurt her the most – she let him go.
Seven years later she’s never forgotten him and when she sees him at a wedding, she knows she’s never going to get over him.
Joshua has made something of his life, but he’s never forgotten Natasha, no amount of women could erase her memory from his mind. Seeing her again at the wedding although what she did, he can never forget he knows he as to have her.
Natasha can’t believe that Joshua is back, and they are going to try to make things work, but they have obstacles in their way, only different to before.
When they decide to tell the truth, a tragedy occurs, lies come out leaving you needing to find out in the next book if they can get their happily ever after.
Really goooood! Major bombshell by the end of Chapter 2, please continue to read as the reader gets a resolution to that surprise bombshell from chapter 2 in Chapter 20.
My first read of TL Swan. I was recommended this book from very good book friends. Read it, read it, read it and when I finally started to read it, it was yay she’s going to pound town. I had to laugh I knew by them saying that I knew that I should expect lots of pounding. Joshua is a billionaire and is uber alpha, yells at everyone and is used to being in control, with Natasha he doesn’t have any control over her or his feelings for her. Natasha and Joshua are a great couple very much in love that it drives them crazy and it’s very volatile
Joshua, Joshua, Joshua… I love Joshua even though he can be a brat at times. This story is about a couple who have a forbidden love. They both struggle with the demands of their hearts vs. what society and family will approve of. Joshua is a self made billionaire and runs his own company in America. He’s a well-known playboy according to the paps but he will not give his heart to anyone. His one true love is in Australia, where he is from, and he runs into her at a family wedding.
This book will take you through all the emotions: Angst, love, butterflies, anger, heartbreak, happiness. Joshua Stanton is the Alpha package.
I read this as a box set, one book after another, so there were no cliffys for me.
