This was a great story. I thought the story was very well written and flowed well. The story kept me glued to the pages to see how everything would turn out.
I received a free review copy of this and am voluntarily leaving a review. Wow, I loved this prequel to her other books. I loved knowing about Stark and Blane prior to Liza showing up. Amazing stuff!
Doctor Virgil Finkleman, commonly known as ‘Stark’, would rather get oral sex from nurses in a broom cupboard, than do a competent job as a psychiatrist. His latest patient, a young man named Blane, seems to know all about Stark’s escapades and his girlfriend at home, leaving Stark very uneasy when dealing with him. Stark is very attracted to Blane’s mother, Izzy, and following his libido, starts a sexual relationship with her. During sex, Stark finds himself in a dream world of Blane’s making called Sedania. This world shows just how insane Blane is.
This is a book that draws you in from the first word, and doesn’t ever let you go. I have to admit it left me intrigued enough to get ‘The Islands of Sedania 1-3’ to find out more. I like the author’s style of writing and wonderful imagination, and this was something just a wee bit different from the norm.
I was so disappointed that there was nothing in the book about the title of the story as I had a (clearly wrong!) theory about it. The only thing that really bothered me was that the two main characters had the same amount of letters in their name. To someone with memory issues, this can be problematic. I probably won’t be the only one.
I chose this book from a larger selection via StoryOrigin, which I then voluntarily read and honestly reviewed. All opinions are my own. I decided to pre-order the book anyway.
The authors writing was good and his imagination was great. This was definitely a different book but in a good way. It left you wanting to keep reading to see what would happen. Stark, as he’s known by, is the psychologist who has a patient by the name of Blane. Stark is a mediocre doctor that would rather follow his libido than be a good doctor. Once he meets Blane and his mom, Izzy, he still follows his libido and starts a sexual relationship with Izzy. But at the same time is drawn into Blane’s ‘world’ and decides he really wants to help him. As time goes on Stark realizes how crazy Blane is. Will he be able to help Blane or go crazy himself trying to help ?
I received this as an ARC book for my honest and voluntary review.
This story is about a mental doctor that tries to help a troubled teenager while having a sexual relation with his mother. The problem is maybe the kid is not really crazy as the doctor get’s pushed into the delirious world (an island with mermaids) he created.
The kid thinks he was cursed and his salvation lies in a women we hardly know that could be taken away by the doctor, making him his enemy.
The story is interesting but so far-fetch that we start to fail to see the point even when things are suppose to come together…
It is still fun to read and original, but I was expecting more from the plot.
I had a difficult time following the story. The story jumped around too much for my taste.
