Someone is always watching… Derek Flint is a loner. He lives with his mother and spends his evenings watching his clients on the CCTV cameras he has installed inside their homes. He likes their companionship – even if it’s through a screen. When a series of crimes hits Derek’s neighbourhood, DC Beth Mayes begins to suspect he’s involved. How does he know so much about the victims’ lives? Why … the victims’ lives? Why won’t he let anyone into his office? And what is his mother hiding in that strange, lonely house?
As the crimes become more violent, Beth must race against the clock to find out who is behind the attacks. Will she uncover the truth in time? And is Derek more dangerous than even she has guessed?

Stalker is the first book by Lisa Stone I have read, but I can guarantee it won’t be the last. The premise of this book is simple enough – a Home Security man who gives his clients that little bit more, even though they don’t know about it.
This was a well-paced novel, with plenty of action and suspense to guarantee you keep turning the pages. The scary part of this book is that it is all so simple, and in this day and age, so many options. There were parts that I knew were coming, however that didn’t detract from the story in any way. There were still so many questions that needed answering.
With well-defined characters and situations, I found Stalker to be excellently written, with no editing or grammatical errors that jolted me out of the story. Absolutely recommended by me!

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
Interesting and original. The author leads the reader to believe Derek Flint is both good and deviant, but as one gets to know Derek, the deviant just doesn’t work. Even though what Derek was doing was illegal, I applaud his reasons! I still think he’s a hero! Good read!
Very different & very read able. I was totally engrossed from the beginning. And, it was different from other books by the story line. It was easy to get caught up with this sad man & his life. What he is doing is wrong nut, you can understand where he is coming from & how he never thinks of it as bad. I do not want to give the story too much details. There are twists in it & suspense. You will not forget it quickly.
This author is just brilliant I could read these books all day. Fantastic yet again!
Gripping and really makes you wonder who you let into your home
Just finished this book and found it to be very interesting and very informative. Most of us are so naive when it comes to simple computer usage and home burglar alarms. Lots of lessons to be learned here and it was a good story. I’m glad I kept my old analog cell phone and I don’t have Siri or anyone else in my home. No cameras, no phones, and feel safer now. Love my simple, old-fashioned burglar alarm!
Makes me wonder what the people I have coming into my home to service various things have in their minds?
Quick read with not too many characters. Nice flow to the story, cohesive and original.
It was a scary book. I know how the ending would be, but not how it would get
there.
A man using his security system company to spy on his clients without their knowledge…. what a nightmare….. it made me shudder.
Quite sad
Just when you think you have it figured out…..
A very interesting read
A surprising ending which I never saw coming in many ways. The author did a great job bringing the characters to life. This could happen in real life.
After reading this book, I eyeballed my computer very, very carefully.
Derek Flint sells and installs computer security systems. Then he goes home, and watches from afar. He has their passwords, so it’s no problem for him to log in, and watch what’s going on. These homes are like the family he doesn’t have. He feels it’s his responsibility to look out after all of them…..
Like the woman cheating on her husband. Derek sends an auto-message to her husband and he rushes home to find his wife dallying with another man. He then assaults his wife leaving her with severe head injuries….
Like the young babysitter in one home, who ignores a child’s cry because she’s involved with her boyfriend. Another text message is sent to the parents of the crying child. When they arrive home, clothes have been straightened, whiskey glasses washed and put away. However, when the camera is rolled back, everything is revealed…
(Book Blurb) When a series of crimes hits Derek’s neighborhood, DC Beth Mayes begins to suspect he’s involved. How does he know so much about the victims’ lives? Why won’t he let anyone into his office? And what is his mother hiding in that strange, lonely house?
Is Derek the stalker? Or is he the one being stalked? Is he responsible for all the break ins, all the crimes? Or is her being set up to take the fall?
This is an outstanding book. Characters are finely drawn and take part in an original story premise. The ending was absolute perfection. This book should make everyone be much more careful when it comes to their computers.
Many thanks to the author / Avon Books UK / Netgalley / Edelweiss for the advanced digital copy of this crime thriller. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Derek Cable has his own security company. Unbeknownst to his clients he is secretly watching them and they have no idea he is nor that there is also audio. When he see trouble in the screens he sends an alert their email, then he sits back and watches it unfold. Sometimes it’s tragic. Derek employs a partner to work with him on a temporary basis, only Paul did not know that and blackmails him. There is more than meets the eye cause Paul has been watching Derek and it’s a whole new ballgame. With all the crimes happening around Derek’s CCTV households, soon the police get involved and it’s Derek that will have to prove his innocence in these crimes before it’s too late.
This book shows you that this could be a true story, when we bring the internet into the fold. Anything can happen, just ask Derek. Moral to the story: someone is watching you…..
I highly recommend this book, it has non stop drama, thrills, twists, and turns.
Well written with shady characters.
Thank you Net Gallery and Avon Books.
I would enjoy more books by Lisa Stone. Her writing kept my attention, I like that in books.
The book kept me up several nights. I kept reading to see what would happen next. It was a well written and fast moving adventure novel.
This book was fairly predictable. Not a ton of character development. I was entertained but repulsed at the same time.
