A mom who’ll never give up fighting for her special needs daughter…A “nice guy” who finally learns to take a stand…Larissa and Mateo’s worlds collide in Stage Mom! Everything about Larissa Emerson is strong. Her personality. Her snark. Her aversion to men after one too many disappointments. Her unwavering fight to ensure her special needs daughter is treated like any other girl–a fight that … treated like any other girl–a fight that ramps up when she begs to compete in a beauty pageant.
Mateo Flores is in his first year of heading up the Little Miss Rehoboth pageant, and he’s not about to screw it up. He knew he’d be dealing with stereotypical pageant moms, but he never saw this one coming. She hits him like a hurricane, all strength and beauty and attitude.
How can he say no to a force of nature like Larissa Emerson?

Stage Mom gives us a mom fighting for her special needs daughter to be treated the same as anyone else, I have a special needs grandson and this one hit me square in the feels.
I loved how Larissa and Mateo weren’t these perfect 23 year old walking magazine covers, they were a bit older and written as real people.
This had some super tough spots for me, again I have a severely special needs grandson and this story was handled so beautifully, completely spot on and this made me love this book even more. Don’t get me wrong, there were some parts that made me want to crawl through my kindle and smack the heck out of a couple characters, but there were even more heartwarming moments and absolutely hilarious parts. I fell head over heels in love with Hailey from the start! I also once again love checking back in with many characters from earlier books
This was the perfect addition to this series, I’m praying that there is more to come from Rehoboth, a place I can see in my mind, a place I would love to visit! I can not wait to reread this whole series back to back on a quiet weekend!
Loved it!
As a mom of a special needs son, this hit a little differently for me. Being an advocate for your kiddo is something I could relate to with Larissa. Her daughter Hailey was born with down syndrome and I absolutely loved her. When she wants to enter the pageant and talks her mom into it, that’s when things really start in this story.
Mateo is taking over the pageant from his abuela and wants to have something never done before. Including more than who is usually in the show.
This was where I didn’t relate to Larissa. For me personally I am a mama bear when it comes to my kid but otherwise we try not to draw attention to ourselves if we can help it. And I didn’t feel the connection with Mateo and Larissa like the other couples but maybe it was just me. Overall great story.
Stage Mom (Romance in Rehoboth #6) by K.L. Montgomery
4 Stars!!!!
Ah what a heart melter. I really got drawn into this book. The author has such a creative style and brings the characters to life. I felt as though I was right there in the midst of the action.
Larissa and Mateo really are a refreshing pair. I found them to be the most unique of the series. Neither is really what the other thinks them to be at first and it was quite sweet to watch their romance blossom and unfold. I like how the author has just the right amount of drama mixed in the book with family troubles and such. I really do enjoy this author and this series and look forward to hopefully more to come.
Stage Mom is the sixth book in K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth series. The series is a collection of stand-alone romantic novels that share a waterside setting. As well as a setting, the characters in the different books are connected in various ways and have a habit of popping up in each other’s stories – a great way to get to know them a bit better!
Stage Mom follows the story of Larissa and Mateo as they work together to ensure Larissa’s disabled daughter, Hailey, can take part in a local beauty pageant. I don’t really have an interest in pageants, but I’m passionate about inclusivity in the arts so this was a really enjoyable read. I love Larissa’s passion to help her daughter follow her dreams.
For me, this is a four-star book. I would recommend this series to fans of cosy, entertaining romances. This book would be particularly good for people with an interest in inclusivity and access. The books don’t necessarily need to be read in order (I’ve managed to get them all muddled up and still enjoy them!) but reading them in order would be a nice way to follow the progressions of different characters’ stories.
While this is the sixth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series from KL Montgomery it is completely readable as a stand alone novel. I will say that if you even remotely enjoy this one however you will want to go back and scoop the others in the series up as well to read. I love how these novels make me feel the complete range of emotions when I am reading them. I usually try to give myself a day to soak up the sun and the story when I read one and would recommend that you do the same, once you start you won’t want to leave the characters that you so quickly fell in love with. This installment was such a sweet and emotional read. I loved Larissa, a single mum of a kiddo who has special needs. She is determined to make sure her little girls dreams are achieved no matter the cost and finding love was the last thing on her mind when she enrolled her daughter into the Little Miss Rehoboth pageant. I won’t give you much more than that because I couldn’t bear to ruin the story! I can only hope we will see more of the beautiful Rehoboth and more of its inhabitants!
Stage Mom is the 6th book in the Romance in Rehoboth series and it is one of my favorites of the series. It is a single mom romantic comedy that has so much heart and awesomeness that i couldn’t help but love it. The story was well written and i was sucked in from the very beginning. Larissa and Mateo are our main characters. Larissa is a single mom to a special needs girl who is her world. She meets Mateo and their worlds collide. I adored these two and i couldn’t help but root for them and their HEA. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future and if you’re looking for any feel good romances, this author is a good one to read!
Happy Reading!
Stage Mom: A Single Mom Romantic Comedy by K.L. Montgomery is the sixth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. These books can all be read as standalone although I think you should definitely read them all as they are that good!
I loved Larissa! She is everything I want to be in a mum – she is strong and willing to fight tooth and nail for her daughter. And yet I found that she has such a sweet side to her. She had been through so much and yet was able to find a way past all of that to see new possibilities.
It worked well between her and Mateo – they complimented each other perfectly. Their story was entertaining and very amusing! The author has such a great writing style and always knows the right pace needed for her characters.
This is a brilliant series and one I have really enjoyed. I would highly recommend reading it!
Stage Mom is the sixth novel in the Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery. It follows Larissa and Mateo who are new characters from Rehoboth Beach.
Mateo Flores is the General Mamager for his family’s resort and the newly appointed Paegant Director for the Little Miss Rehoboth Beach paegant. But when he makes some changes to the paegant that people aren’t happy with, can he turn things around?
Larissa Emerson has reluctantly entered her daughter in the paegant, per her insistent request. When she finds out she was initally rejected and pursues why she has set the course for her and her daughter Hailey’s summer.
The usual band of Rehoboth characters find their way back into our lives with this story. It is fun and incredibly touching. It shows how a community can either come together or fall apart when it comes to diversity and inclusion.
I truly enjoyed this series! The foundation of the town was amazing and the characters were so fun!!
Another incredible addition to the Romance in Rehoboth Series. This book had me totally captivated from the very beginning, I was connected to the characters from the very beginning and loved following the character’s journey and watching them develop! I love how strong Larissa is a person isn’t afraid to fight for what she wants, I also love Mateo for all that he does! This two have amazing chemistry you can’t help but hope that they get a HEA, as it’s much deserved for both! I loved loved loved this read, and can’t wait to read more from this author! I highly recommend this read!
K. L. Montgomery is a mastermind putting comedy and romance together. She writes about the funny moments in a relationship and not the difficult moments. Her characters bring life to the story. This is book 6 in the Romance in Rehoboth series. It can be a stand alone book, I highly recommend reading all the books. This is Larissa and Mateo’s story. One thing that I love about this story is that Larissa is a strong woman who stands up for her special needs daughter. She is not afraid to speak her mind. All she wants is that her little girl be treated like every other little girl. In comes Mateo, who is running a pageant and is prepared to deal with the strong pageant moms. He understands that each mom thinks that their little girl is going to be the pageant queen. That is until he meets Larissa. Will Larissa be too much for him? Will Larissa open her heart up to Mateo? You will have to read this story to find out the answers to these questions.

Oh my! I loved this book so, so much! I think I have said that about all of the books in this Romance in Rehoboth series but this one just completely captivated me from the beginning until the very end. Larissa was just such a wonderful character to read about, strong willed and determined not to let anything get in her way but she does it because of the love for her daughter! I loved the encounters between her and Mateo – they were very entertaining to read about! I love the way the author tackled this story, like I’ve said about her before she could easily fall into stereotypical characters but she doesn’t – everything is handled sensitively and her characters are a joy to read about!
Stage Mom is a wonderful 5 star read that I highly recommend!
K.L Montgomery has a way with words, that makes you feel like you’re right there alongside the characters. I love that they are all clean romantic comedies, with strong female and male leads. There is a lot of fun chemistry between the characters. Each can be enjoyed as a stand alone novel, each focusing on a new couple. There is mention and cross over characters from previous books, but they are just friends mentioned in passing. I love that each book has its own soundtrack.
Book 3 Stage Mom follows Larissa Emerson and Mateo Flores. Larissa is a single mom with a special needs daughter, in the Little Miss Rehoboth pageant. Mateo is the new director of the pageant and is tired of dealing with these uptight moms. However, the chemistry between them is undenyable.

Stage Mom: A Single Mom Romantic Comedy (Romance in Rehoboth Book 6) by K. L. Montgomery was an amazing read. I loved the characters of this book. As a mom I really connected with Larissa and her sweet ladybug. Mateo was also an amazing gentleman in this story. I loved how she faced diversity in the face regarding her daughter’s diagnosis of Down Syndrome. The story of her sperm donor’s reaction killed me. On another note I was easily pulled into the drama surrounding the pageant. It was very realistic and at times straight up hilarious. Such an excellent read and also easily read a standalone. I highly recommend it.
Stage Mom: A Single Mom Romantic Comedy by K.L. Montgomery is the sixth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. Larissa is a single mom who has a beautiful special needs daughter. Mateo runs the local beauty pageant as well as has a day job running a boutique resort. I enjoy reading about Larissa because she is a strong willed mom. She is willing to fight for her daughter to have every opportunity available. I also enjoy Mateo because he is trying to break from his grandmother’s rules for the pageant to make it more inclusive and open to a wider range of children.
This is a nice, enjoyable story which brings up a current topic. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Stage Mom (Romance in Rehoboth #6) by K.L. Montgomery
5 of 5 Stars
Having read the previous books in Montgomery’s, ‘Romance in Rehoboth’ series I was looking forward to this sixth instalment and was not disappointed and was happily immersed in another Rehoboth Beach’s romantic comedy stories. It is a standalone story and you do not need to read the series in order but I would thoroughly recommend reading the whole series.
In Stage Mom, Larissa Emerson is a strong women and fiery with it as she has had to fight for so much in her life especially to ensure that her special needs daughter is treated fairly and equally. After many disappointments with men and as a single Mum she has sworn off men but when she meets Mateo Flores she can not deny her attraction and neither can he. Mateo is running the ‘Little Miss Rehoboth pageant’, for the first year and doesn’t want to mess it up. Although he was prepared to deal with the stereotypical pageant Mums he was not prepared for Larissa who when her daughter Hailey asks to take part in the pageant goes out to fight for her daughters place. Mateo finds Larissa a force of nature and soon discovers he just can’t say no to her. This was another great story by Montgomery who is never afraid to tackle sensitive issues this time by Larissa’s daughter Hailey having Down Syndrome, but does so sensitively and with humour.
I loved the amazing characters in this novel and the storyline flowed easily and kept me hooked from page one. I was disappointed to finish it, always a sign of a good book.
This is part of the Romance in Rehoboth series. This is one of my favorites by this author. She writes with such heart and brings romance to a new level for me. This is a well developed story that I loved watch the characters grow throughout the story. I had no problem connecting with the characters who brought the story to life for me. This is a story about Larissa and Mateo. She is a mom of a special needs daughter who do anything to make sure her daughter is treated like any other girl. He is running a pagent for the first time and is determined to suceed. He never expected to meet someone like Larissa but will he be able to resist her? I loved their chemistry together. They are strong characters especially Larissa and is prepared to fight for what she wants. What will fate have in store for them? Will she win his heart over? I highly recommend their story and this author.

This book is funny, touching and sexy all in one. Hailey may have down syndrome but she knows what she wants and she is going to get what she wants. Larissa will fight with everything she has for her daughter and that includes Mateo!

Larissa’s daughter has Down Syndrome and decides that she wants to be in the little girls pageant. Mateo’s family has run the pageant for the last forty years and is a stickler for tradition. When he decides to make some changes, the whole town is in an uproar. With lighthearted comedy and romance, the author tackles discrimination and racism in this book. The story is definitely a winner.
Stage Mom is book six in the Romance in Rehoboth Series by K.L. Montgomery. This was a very sweet read. All any parent wants is for their child to be treated fairly. This book will have you laughing and crying simultaneously but all the while, pushing for the good to win!!! Like all of Ms. Montgomery’s other books, I absolutely loved this book!!!
This is a heartfelt story about a mom who would go to any lengths for her child. It shows the unconditional love between a parent and child and it was written beautifully. This story was touching and a great read. The main characters were an eclectic group that haphazardly just fit. One was not the same without the rest. They just work better together. This story moved me, and the series as a whole was enjoyable, incredibly funny and life like. The author interacts with the audience by giving them a colourful cast of characters and a structured storyline. 4 stars
