“Perfect combination of humor, suspense and romance!” ~ Lynn ReadsI’m her ace in the hole, but the odds are stacked against me…Hurricane Darla put me in a wheelchair. I have to keep focused–walking again is my top priority. But I can’t help but imagine the hands of the gorgeous physical therapist who works my body over every day and how I’d like them to work me over.Knowing … how I’d like them to work me over.
Knowing that it can’t be more than just a fantasy doesn’t stop my slow burn of desire for Christina Lorde–even if she has a new man in her life.
I try to warn her about online dating and posers, but she brushes my concern aside. And strange things start happening to both of us.
The mysterious war veteran she connects with just might distract her enough to stop her mind from wandering to me, when all I want is to claim her as mine.
But when the mystery man becomes obsessive, I worry my disability will keep me from protecting her. As we rage against the hand we’ve been dealt, we forge an unbreakable bond.
And we’re bound and determined to uncover who’s stacking the deck against us.

Stacking the Deck is the 3rd book in the Dangerous Past series…I would definitely read 1 & 2 before reading this one. This book is full of suspense and romance. I really enjoyed reading Ben and Christine’s story!

Intrigue, drama, suspense, mystery and engaging characters are in this story that captured my interest and made for a captivating read. I liked how the author wove everything together so I felt like I was part of the story rather than just reading a book.

This was a really good well-written romance although it is a pretty emotional read at times. I thought the characters had tons of chemistry and I really enjoyed getting to know them this was a wonderful read and I would definitely recommend it.
Chris is a rehabilitation therapist at the top of her game, and highly sough after. She’s alone since her ex-husband’s gambling addiction destroyed her marriage. Ben is a marine biologist from Florida, and her newest patient, hoping to walk again. I’ve only previously read this author’s hockey romances, but holy cow – this book completely blew me away, and now I have the earlier ones in the series on my TBR list. Chris and Ben are just sizzling beneath the surface. Along their journey, they have to deal with the ethics of him being her patient; a crazed stalker that she met on a dating app, thinking that he was a lonely war vet, who tries to kill both of them and her dog; her ex-husband who’s indebted to the mob, because he stole something that she may be (unknowlingly) in possession of; and the secret that she’s keeping. This book in intense and emotional, a page turner well worth the time spent reading.

Colleen Charles did a great job on this story. The plot was strong, it was filled with many emotions. The characters were strong, Chris and Ben were made for each other. Their journey may gave been a rollercoaster but they were great together.

A girl worth fight for is worth keeping…

I’ll be totally honest yeah I was a stupid idiot to go running around during a hurricane instead of hunkering down somewhere to ride out the storm.
But no my family needed my help so yes I’d risked everything and unfortunately I was hurt by flying debris.
I knew I had people who’d support me know matter what and would move heaven and earth to see me walk again.
With a first name like that you tend to think that person must be male but nope my new physical therapist is a stunning woman.
Chris knew he was going to be a hard nut to crack but honestly she lived for tough challenges. She deserved to be happy again especially after her selfish ex husband wrecked her life.
However when her first try using a dating site ends in a big bust.
Now she’s been receiving creepy messages that make absolutely no sense and Chris really doesn’t have a clue and she’ll need all the help she can get to keep her from losing her sanity.
The first time he’d meet her she’d made such and impact on in fact she’d inspired some pretty racy and exotic thoughts that he’d actually wanted a different therapist but luckily his brother nixed that real quick.
Chris inadvertently stumbled into trouble with a capital T she did the only thing a scared woman should do she went running straight for Ben and the ride of her life leaving her breathless.
The longer she’s around him the closer the two of them seemed to be getting however she’s terrified that a long distance won’t make anyone’s heart grow fonder so she’s not sure what to do especially with the huge secret Chris has been keeping. But she’s still has a target cemented to her back that she knows nothing about.
Ben knew he wasn’t the smartest man when it came to relationships but when Chris’ best friend gives him the whole third degree when he realizes that he’d not willing to let there relationship imploded without a fight.

Intense and emotional, this book packs a big punch. I loved Ben and Chris. Their attraction is strong and their chemistry steamy. With a well written storyline that offers romance, suspense, drama and danger , you are interested and engaged throughout the entire book. An excellent read and also my favorite of the series.
Ben heads to Chicago for spinal rehabilitation and meets Chris, his physical therapist. She’s a complete surprise to him and she helps him come to terms with the tragic events that happened in “Song of the Keys”. Chris has decided to start dating again via the internet and is unknowingly in danger. All I can say is it’s a good thing these two met and had an instant connection, or things would have ended badly! Our good buddy Dustin appears in this story with some mysteries of his own. You’ll definitely want to read this one in a single sitting (which may be exactly what I did)!
I loved the first two books of this Dangerous Pasts series. Stacking the Deck definitely lives up to expectations: entertaining, steamy, suspenseful, intriguing, romantic. I would absolutely love to read more from this series! Download and enjoy!
