This book is RATED-R FOR LANGUAGE by the publisher.Bush pilot Tom Stokes is about to face the worst day of his life. On a clear winter morning, he sets out to do some repairs on a remote hunt camp, leaving his five-year-old son and very pregnant wife snug in their beds.On the return trip, a squall forces him into an emergency landing and he winds up—quite literally—in the lap of petty criminal … the lap of petty criminal Dale Knight. Dale, now a fugitive from the law—and worse, from a merciless drug lord who just happens to be his brother—draws Tom into a web of mayhem and treachery that puts not only his life at risk, but the lives of his wife, son . . . and unborn child.
SQUALL is a fast-paced, darkly-comic tale of murder and gang-style retribution that grabs the reader on page one and just doesn’t let go.

In SQUALL by Sean Costello, the good guys are good, and the bad guys are bad. Really bad! I thoroughly enjoyed this high-octane read that kept my rapt attention to the very last page. I highly recommend this five-star read!

entertaining read
Good quick read..a few surprises..a real page turner
I would read this author again.
The title of this novel is Squall and it represents a squall in almost every way possible from the weather to internal chaos-decision making. Unpredictable and full of twists and turns. This is one I’ll read again just because it was so good and to see things I probably missed the first time. Excellent read!
Do NOT miss this book. I was on edge throughout the entire book never knowing exactly where each twist or turn would end up. A couple of times i thought I knew but didn’t. A pilot caught in a snowstorm while trying to get back home to his son and pregnant wife lands in a mess of crazy. Drug dealers and a psycho or two chasing each other around during a dangerous storm and all the pilot wants to do is get home and get away from all of them. And I was right there with them. This author knows how to draw you into it all. The frantic wife that loses contact with her husband making call after call over the radio and receiving only static for an answer. Trying to reassure their young son as much as she is trying not to think the worst. The pilot who is starting to wonder just how many more near misses he can avoid. And even amongst all the dangers still has this tongue in cheek humor that he can’t hold back. Nothing I can say will do proper justice for this book. It’s not one that you will want to read in little bits at the time because you will get drawn in and want to stay straight through. I was exhausted by the time I reached the unexpected ending. And wow what a ride it was! This book is a MUST READ.
The book was free, so i figured if it whiled away a quiet evening, I was ahead of the game. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was enjoying it. I liked the characters—no supermen, just regular people—and I REALLY liked the plane’s landing spot. The little brother to an experienced bad guy was interesting; he just couldn’t summon up enough sociopathic traits to succeed in the criminal world, no matter how hard he tried, and I enjoyed watching him try. My favorite, though, was Tom’s wife. Talk about a multi-talented female! She whipped a killer into shape to deliver her infant and has enough moxie left over to use her marksmanship when she needed to straighten out that same professional killer. This book has every plot contrivance but the kitchen sink—and maybe that was included without my noticing. It kept me reading for the evening.
East Texas Girl
Plausible intersections of people’s lives. Life sometimes can be that crszy
When reading books of this kind you do not need to watch action movies because aside from increasing your vocabulary and increasing your reading speed, the book provides the exact setting that an action movie does, without the visuals and audio. Loved the plot where a happy family man’s life crosses with a dopehead and a crazy girlfriend on their quest to rip off a druglord. It supports the notion that innocent people leading innocent lives do encounter bad things which the society thinks they don’t deserve while fate thinks otherwise. Great Book
I got this for free through a BookBub deal recently and really enjoyed it! A super quick, very intense read. The back-and-forth narration made it easy to finish this in just a few sittings, and the setting added an additional layer of excitement that really made the book.
This was well-written and captivating, but four stars because many of the plot elements just fell into place much too easily and left me feeling slightly unfulfilled at the end.
I was very impressed with this book! The author is an excellent writer. His style kept the story moving along, and the way he gradually introduced his characters through the story made it easy to remember who was who and how they were connected. The character development was strong, which made me care about them – even the bad guys. This book kept me turning the pages well after midnight. I highly recommend SQUALL by this talented author, Sean Costello.
I’ve always enjoyed Mr. Costello’s stories and this one is no exception.
