GRACE
He’s trouble-with a capital T.
I knew Warwick was dangerous the second he set foot on my ship.
Nothing good can come from a man like that.
And now, the good-for-nothing pirate took me hostage.
But his attitude and tattoos can’t cover up what’s hiding beneath.

Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book One) by Gwyn McNamee is a contemporary romantic suspense with a current day twist to piracy. The author opens this series with a bang setting a high speed pace that works for this novel! Grace and War are amazing characters and seeing their depth and development is amazing. This is the perfect pair to kick off this series as supporting characters are also introduced. Gwyn McNamee is a genius in her story lines and The Inland Seas series is no exception! After reading through the suspense, drama, chemistry and just desirable attributes that came forth in this initial book of the series, I can only imagine what will be delivered next!!
Squall Line is the first book in The Inland Seas series by Gwyn McNamee. Having read several books by this author before, I had high hopes for this book and the author definitely lived up to my expectations.
Although this is a contemporary romance novel, this book had so much action and suspense too. I was gripped into the story from the very first page and hooked right up to the end wondering how Warwick and his team were going to survive and escape the wrath of the evil Arturo.
The sexual chemistry which simmers between Warwick and Grace is compelling and you can’t help get drawn into the angst between the 2 of them.
I loved the other guys in Warwick’s team. They were not just secondary characters, they added so much to the story and I look forward to getting to know these guys better in the rest of this series.
I have to make one comment about the ending…WTF!! There better be more of Grace and Warwick in the remaining books in this series as there is one ‘little’ question I need the answer to. NOW!
Modern day pirates! Misunderstood bad guys! This is what all romance dreams are made of.
McNamee does not disappoint! McNamee’s stories always have parts that make you laugh, cry and even sigh. Squall Line is no different in those aspects. However, it is different in that it is original (at least to me). Pirates usually conjure images of long ago, peg legs, eye patches, smelly uncaring men. Thankfully that is not the case in McNamee’s world of pirates!
I loved this adventure as I was not sure which way it was going to go. The ending left me wishing it wasn’t ending but still smiling, wanting more and glad to know that there is more in this new series! I loved that this story was easy to follow, not too many characters or story lines. Just the right amount of suspense, steam and adventure!
I recommend this story as well as other stories by McNamee.
Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee
5-stars
I am always eager to start any book from this phenomenal author; without a doubt she always leaves me wanting more! I have read so much from this author and I’ve honestly loved it all, however, this one has been my absolute favourite by far! From the very get go I was hooked; I had never read anything like this before so I was highly entertained and intrigued the whole way through.
I felt so invested in this story and in these characters that I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I honestly couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, I just had to know how it was all going to play out, and Gwyn did not disappoint!
As usual I can’t wait to dive into another book from Gwyn McNamee, I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next one of a kind read!
This author is awesome. I’m beginning to think there isn’t a book she can write that I won’t like! This one is a little different than her previous books but that makes it that much better. I devoured it and I want to get my hands on more! The characters in this book are fantastic. The chemistry is off the charts and the banter is great! The book was full of suspense and angst and man that cliffy was crazy! I cannot wait to read more by this author and I would recommend to a friend!!
Squall Line by Gwyn McNamee a five-star read you would go to sea for. This is the first novel in the Inland Seas Series and I cant wait for the next one, Gwyn McNamee is one of those authors you get excited to see they have something new coming out, one of those authors you need to read everything by, this one is no exception it shows us her great writing style and bring you into the story in a great manner, it’s not what I am used to reading from her, but I adored the style. War and Grace are so different in so many ways, but so good for each other and similar in others, they make the story so compelling. Pick up this novel as you won’t be disappointed, all I am sad about is that the next one in the series isn’t hear already.
I have such a girl crush on this author. Everything she writes has a certain level of uniqueness that makes the story stand out. SQUALL LINE does not disappoint.
Is this the beginning of a new genre? Instead of bodice ripping pirates, we have kick a$$ women who aren’t afraid of “big, bad men”.
Great main characters and the secondary characters were also intriguing. This is going to be another great series from this very prolific author. The story flowed well from beginning to end and it held my attention for the entire ride.
I look forward to reading all future books by this author.
Squall Line is book 1 in a new series from Gwyn McNamee, and a little different than what she normally writes, but nonetheless I was totally captivated and intrigued by this read, from the start until the very end!
Gwyn McNamee has once again created two brilliant main characters that are real, relatable and very easy to enjoy reading about and following their journey.
War & Grace have a connection that is undeniable and immediately puts them into a new position. Gwyn has given these two characters an epic story that really makes stand out and tell their journey. This is one of the books that saying to much can really give away the main plot, so all I can really say is that this book was beyond what I expected, it’s gripping and thrilling. It’s fast-paced, flows from chapter to chapter and really holds you.
Gwyn McNamee has proven again how much of a versatile writer she is and boy oh boy is this another book that should not be missed by anyone! I highly recommend you check out this read, and all other books from this author, I guarantee you will find your next Go to favourite author.
Do not miss this read!
Squall Line is book one and a fabulous start to The Inland Sea Series. War and Grace start out as enemies but they had chemistry that was off the charts hot. Great writing, captivating action-packed story, likable characters and that ending makes this a 5 star read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
First off I just have to get out of the way one thing… Gwyn McNamee can write anything! She stole my heart and attention with her Hawke family novels and I have been literally addicted ever since. When I first saw that this was something that Gwyn was doing I had to have it and was anxious for it to hit my Kindle. This was so very different from what we normally see from her and I have to say I like it. This was a tad more angsty and dramatic, a touch of the dark hit the soul when you read pieces of the story and it grips you until that last and deliciously frustrating cliff hanger. War and Grace are two characters that I know will stick with me for a long while. Between the shenanigans that flow on board the ship and the tantalizing chemistry between War and Grace this book was one that had me glued from beginning to end all in one sitting. I can’t bring myself to share much more than what Ms. McNamee has already given us in the blurb so for all the juicy details and bits you will just have to take the plunge and one-click this for yourself.
I loved this book! The characters were well developed as was the story. You fall in love with War and Grace from the beginning. I love that Grace isn’t a sniveling damsel in distress. Her inquisitiveness even though annoying to War, was never quelled by his reactions to it. War is definitely not your typical knight in shining armor but who wants that? He is dark and broody and super hot! lol I am impatiently waiting for book 2!!
A very interesting and modern take on pirates. Warwick is man on a mission, he made a less than stellar decision when he was younger and is still paying for it today. Grace is a woman who can’t leave well enough alone, wants to have an answer for everything. These two are complete opposites of each other but they work well together in the end, that is after a lot of emotional strife.
Squall Line is completely different that anything else I have read from this author and I loved it, hope you will too.
Wow!! What a book! The storms in this book are not only in the water. The story of Grace and War will leave you breathless. I’m not going to say anymore. Read this book to find out what happens. You will not regret it!
This pirate may have picked the wrong ship to rob, but it brought him to Grace, who shouldn’t have been on that ship in the first place. The action, adventure and suspense was engaging, and I loved this change-up in genre from this author! I loved the chemistry between Grace and War, but I thought they dragged a bit getting their passion sparked up. What can I say? I love me some good sexy scenes! But this is still an entertaining read, and I am looking forward to more in the series!
Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee was an interesting read that kept me reading.
Not my first read by this author, so I was excited to get my hands on this author’s new work. As someone that has spent over 10 years on the water, I may have been a little picky, so I’m not going to get into that. I will say that this book was enjoyable, interesting and had a unique plot. I wish the pace was a little more smooth, and that the romance wasn’t so rushed, and again, that dreaded word, innocent, appeared. Describing the female MC like that, it took away and downplayed her strength, and power that I felt she was full of. Towards the end things started to get intense, and then it ends full stop with a cliff hanger. That threw me a bit, because I thought there was another page, well played, well played. I’m looking forward to the next book!
Overall this book was engaging, well laid out read, that had positive character development. This book get my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
Happy Reading

Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book One) by Gwyn McNamee
Squall Line is the first Book in The Inland Seas Series and Holy Hell what a read.I literally had goosebumps from the very beginning. I was sucked into the world of War and Grace and I couldn’t put it down till I finished. This Author is one of my absolute favorites I’ve read several books by her. War is a man that is conflicted but he’s loyal.Grace is a feisty yet intelligent woman. She finds herself in trouble when he takes her. These two have an attraction towards one another, that they are both trying to ignore. What does their future look like? Find out what happens next in this must read book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the book in this series.
Squall Line
(The Inland Seas Series #1)
by Gwyn McNamee
Squall Line was a great 5 star read and book one in The Inland Seas series.
This is War and Grace’s story and I was pulled in right from the beginning. This is a modern pirate romance.
War ends up on Grace’s ship and takes her hostage. As they spend time together they start to build a connection along with driving each other crazy. Grace was pushing War for answers to her questions and learned more about him. She started to see a different side to him. We do get some steamy moments from these two as well. I had some LOL moments at the bickering between them. Can War keep Grace out of danger? Can they have more together?
I loved Grace she was a strong character and War was a hot, loyal man. All of the secondary characters were great. If you’re looking for a read that has action, mystery, steam and so much more this is the series for you. Overall I loved this read and the ending was great. I can’t wait to read more from this series.
Gwyn McNamee is one of my “must buy” authors & once again, she does not disappoint!
Squall Line is Book 1 in Gwyn McNamee’s new Inland Seas series & I am in love…Modern-day pirates!!
Warwick Pike & Grace Albright are both ship Captains on Lake Michigan. Events in both of their pasts have placed them on paths that they didn’t expect & in War’s case, a path he can’t get away from. I can’t tell you more without giving you spoilers, but what follows is a story full of adventure, laughs, & some really hot love scenes!
I could not put this book down! As always Gwyn gives us characters that you just can’t get enough of & can’t help but love. (As much as I wanted to hate War, he worked himself into my heart.) And her secondary characters will leave you wanting more! I cannot wait to see what comes next!
If you have not read any of Gwyn McNamee’s books before…What are you waiting for??? Squall Line is a great place to start!
No words to describe the genius that is Gwyn McNamee! Squall Line is different than anything I have read and is just the beginning of a series I know will blow everyone away!
Warwick a man with many complicated lawyers and his armor is tough! He lets no one in and does what’s necessary to live! Until he finds himself on the wrong side of a shot gun staring at the one woman who threatens to take it all away! Grace is a tough woman who is doing her damndest to keep her family business afloat! She’s going through the motions of life but when a sexy pirate storms her boat Grace will find herself in the middle of a world she didnt know existed yet holds all she wants!
