Scot Harvath must do whatever it takes to prevent the United States from being dragged into a deadly war in this heart-pounding thriller that is “timely, raw, and filled with enough action for two books” (The Real Book Spy) from the #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor. Across Europe, a secret organization has begun attacking diplomats. Back in the United States, a foreign ally demands … United States, a foreign ally demands the identity of a highly placed covert asset. Between the two, all the ingredients are there for an all-out war.
With his mentor out of the game, counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath must take on the role he has spent his career avoiding. But, as with everything else he does, he intends to rewrite the rules–all of them.
In Spymaster, Scot Harvath is more cunning, more dangerous, and deadlier than ever before.

Scot Harvath is the prototypical operator, and Brad Thor has really developed this character with his many facets–strong, interesting, adaptable. Beyond the protagonist, we are treated with a full roster of rich characters, some on the borderline between good and bad–as real people sometimes are. The plot is compelling, thoughtful, and has unexpected twists and turns. I loved this book!
Headline: BOND, eat your heart out. This was my first Brad Thor book, and it won’t be my last. I was immediately swept into an unexpected thrill ride that I didn’t want to end. Set in the alluring, sexy world of espionage, Thor’s 18th Harvath novel is packed with high-stakes suspense, history, exotic locations, and badass special operatives that had me reconsidering chasing my one-time dream of working for the CIA. Thor is a master at sprinkling delicious little breadcrumbs throughout every chapter, expertly unraveling a tightly-woven plot that keeps you turning the pages. Played out through a motley crew of characters, the pieces of the puzzle eventually come together in an explosive ending that will leave your jaw dropped. If you like James Bond, find yourself switching between the History Channel and Travel Channel, and love complex, gripping thrillers, you’ll love Spymaster. FIVE STARS. Highly recommend.
Michael Connelly once said that the mark of a great author is one who not only entertains, but educates. This is precisely what Brad does with this book.
“Ripped from today’s headlines” is overused, but in the case of Spymaster, it’s true. Brad’s knowledge of military history (especially regarding Nazi Germany), intimate familiarity with modern-day warfare and players (especially NATO), and meticulous plotting explain why he’s the king of political-military thrillers.
You will not be able to put this book down.
Incredible read!
I’ve read all the books in this Horvath series and enjoy every one of them!
Always love Brad Thor, not quite Flynn, but I love em!
A typical Brad Thor novel and always a few twists. He keeps it realistic by aging his characters.
I’ve read all of Brad Thor’s books and love the Scot Harvath character. I was so sad reading this book, I had to put it aside for several days before I could finish it. I understand authors do things to shake up the story but this was way over the line as far as I am concerned. Nevertheless, I’m giving it 5 stars, Brad Thor is a great writer.
Good author
Very entertaining
Brad Thor’s latest is his best yet.
Good, not great. He has better novels.
I’ve read most of Brad Thor’s books and this one was a little slower than the others and it ended rather abruptly.
Excellent as usual
Brad Thor is a master story weaver. Love his characters and his plots.
Another winner from Brad Thor. If you love political / military thrillers then Brad is your author. One thing that is always fascinating about his books is the depth and accuracy of his research and the ability to bring international regional history and politics into sharp focus. It seems the American public is woefully ignorant about any subject beyond the end of their noses. Pick up any Brad Thor book for an exhilarating read and some education.
Another fantastic book by Brad Thor that could keep you up all night. What sly evil plots are Russia sneaking on NATO and the U.S. that could turn so deadly possibly putting the world into a tailspin? A hot page turner filled with intrigue and danger for everyone involved. A must read to see how Nick a former Navy Seal gets us of this one alive.
I felt this book was explaining what was happening in our world now with Russia. Very interesting and action packed.
Started out good and soon fizzled. Left me flat. Not a book I would recommend.
Great read. Scott Harvath is one of my favorite character.
