A young adult paranormal romance series.
An epic journey.
If the Seventine are released, will anyone survive?
Book two in the Walker Saga follows Abigail and her friends as they tame the world of Spurn.
‘Go to Spurn,’ she was told.
Oh, and by the way the planet is ninety-five percent water and the inhabitants are hybrid fish. Of course, no one seems to care that Abigail can’t swim.
… that Abigail can’t swim.
Surprisingly, jetting off to a water planet is not the weirdest thing to happen this week. But she’s on a deadline to the find the first half-Walker girl, as the very essences of the seven worlds are starting to unravel. And with each Seventine release the chaos ricochets further.
Of course, with her Walker energy causing havoc and the savage Spurns … well, it’s safe to say nothing so far has gone to plan.
And on top of that a bombshell she did not see coming.
Secrets are revealed and loyalties challenged but with her best friend and soul mate by her side, can she really lose out?

I made it pretty clear with the previous book that I did not like First World. However, me being a completionist and having received the first three books in the series as freebies I had no choice but to keep going with Spurn. Let’s just say it was as I excepted it to be, although since I consciously kept reading something I knew I would have major issues with I feel generous enough to give it two stars. That and another reason.
The problems I had with First World are pretty much the same as in Spurn and that is way too much going on with plot twist after plot twist. Though in Spurn it wasn’t as much in your face as in First World, leaving some breathing room for semi natural progression. It didn’t try to have every cliche genre and shock value known to YA either which made it a bit more tolerable as it calmed down a bit and didn’t make it as ridiculously unrealistic. Don’t get me wrong, it still spread it thick with the whole Spurn world (which was basically The little Mermaid kids movie world) walkers, insta love soul mate bond and everything else that made my eyes roll, but it was at least a little toned down if you compare it to the first book. The romance actually did something for me in this book as well, in that there actually was a romance at all that wasn’t just between Sammy and out of this world annoying Lucy. So to sum up, this book had more to offer than the first book.
Sadly tough, the same couldn’t be said for the personalities. That being said there weren’t any. It seemed that personality development was confused with being “smart mouthed” (air quotes because none of what the characters said was ever really that smart) and the more smart mouthed they were the more personality they appeared to have. It was quite the opposite since everyone then just blended together into one cringy mess. Then among all the obnoxiously annoying characters we of course had to have a Mary Sue character with special snowflake syndrome.
This was evident in book one with how out of this world beautiful Abby was with her Superman genes and strength, but in this one it was built on more with every other character putting her on a unreasonably high pedestal and if they were male and not related to her they of course had to have her, one even on a stalker and kidnapping degree. And lets not forget how she out of nowhere and with no struggle developed (or rather suddenly just had) powers that no one else in existence had like tracing, soothsaying or melding to Brace. It wasn’t even only Abby that got this unrealistic treatment but all the “heroes” did with Brace suddenly being debatably the most powerful person in the whole wide world (and of course the love interest also just had to be unrealistically beautiful) and every good guy so easily winning fights and know they will before they even fight that the conflicts they have seemed completely underwhelming and unnecessary.
The special snowflake syndrome along with how every characters just had to cram in jokes in every sentence (or Brace calling Abby Red in literary every sentence out of his mouth or mind), and of course the whole messy plot, made the writing, in my opinion, off. It never was given the chance to really flow naturally or develop in a realistic way for either plot or characters, making some scenes extremely bizarre. For example, one characters holds another with a knife to his throat threatening the new half-walker and Abby and Brace takes the opportunity to flirt with each other, completely forgetting the threat right in front of them. This they keep doing at the oddest and most serious times in the book making the writing jump from progression and them flirting back and forth at the most consequential times. It’s like whiplash but for writing, and don’t even get me started on the triangle that the book out of nowhere then tried to convince me existed when it didn’t. Apparently Abby had some emotional connection with Lucas but they never once interacted in the book. His name was just something you sometimes stumbled upon while you read and nothing else.
All of this mentioned above made this book feel like something more meant for kids to read since the plot and world is just way too out there to speak to an older audience. Of course as a children’s book the writing might be even more off when they suddenly start talking about sex and making out. However I believe that if you just remove that it would be perfect as a kids book.
This book is one of the books in my favorite series The Walker Saga. I love all the books in this series. Fabulous world building, characters I became invested in, I couldn’t put the books down. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

Absolutely amazing. This storyline has gotten crazy! I’m hooked. This is an emotional book. I cried a few times. I love Abby/Aribella and Lucy. They crack me up. This book is about the world of Spurn. The biggest thing that shocked the crap out of me was the betrayal. I did not see it coming. The twists and turns keep me enthralled.
•••••• I highly recommend this book/series! ••••••
~~ I have Kindle Unlimited, and I used that service to read this book.~~
SPURN is the second book in the Walker Saga, and we continue with Abby and Lucy as they try to conquer another world. Spurn is not at all what they expected, especially as Abby has ‘fun’ swimming. Throw in a Stalker Walker (yes, I stole that from Abby), mutant sea monsters, Lucas and Brace, and Abby has her hands full.
We meet Talina in this story, and she is a gentle, introverted character. That is, unless you try to hurt her loved ones, and then she will go full on typhoon on your ass! She hasn’t had it easy, but is a wonderful character that I had fun getting to know.
I am LOVING this series! Seriously!!! It is full of action, quick paced, quick-witted, and full of emotions (both good and bad). I read each book, thoroughly loving each story, and yet wanting to move onto the next one, just so I can continue with the story.
Fair warning – one major heartbreak in this book that I did NOT see coming, even with the warnings. There were others too, but this one knocked me out of my boots. Now I definitely need to read Crais… and hope that Ms. Eve isn’t going to keep me in suspenders until the last book!
Absolutely definitely positively recommended!
An enchanting read!
Secrets are revealed and loyalties challenged but with her best friend and soulmate by her side, can she really lose out?
Another glorious, enchanting and compelling book in this series. I am so glad I finally picked up book one and just started reading it. It is so amazing when you start a book, get addicted and read all the books in the series – such a positive and amazing feeling – and this is what happened for these books! So eager to read the next book especially after that ending.
Compelling writing. Gloriously written. So flawless and addictive.
The world building in this series is so magnificent! The author pays attention to all the details and describes it so perfectly well.
Full of secrets, power, seven worlds, bonds, friendship, family, prophecies, loyalty, trust, love, action and adventure.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romance/fantasy romance.
I enjoyed the whole series and I read them back to back , I couldn’t put them down and had to get to the end …
