After her husband ran out on her 29 years earlier, Tansy has raised her son, managed the town’s diner and protected her heart from hurt. She is therefore terrified when she is attracted to the new owner of the diner, she feels like a teenager again but is loath to risk loving a man that might walk out on her.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A little bit 2nd chance love story, a little bit enemies to lovers, a lot of chemistry. For Tansy, it is a second chance at love, for John a second chance at life. They struck it off on the wrong foot and I was hoping for some verbal sparring as the relationship developed, but the stars were aligned for these two. It turned out the major conflict was not between them but within them. A different type of challenge than you see the typical romance dealing with.
You know the part in the story where everything is going just a little too well, and then something has to happen to blow it all up? The obvious in this one was the way John took charge of remodeling the diner. Tansy has been dreaming about this all her life and he just took that from her – no discussion. And in a way that was a conflict, but it went a lot deeper, into her fear of change and the armor she build through stability. The resolution was very appropriate to the characters.
That said, it was a quick, light read with lots of feels and a great cast of characters. This book can be enjoyably read as a standalone.
I really enjoyed Tansy’s story. How nice to see a romance for someone who is in her forties and had to work so hard to raise her son as a teenager when her husband. Luke left them. I loved Tansy’s character. She was a strong willed, red-headed, spitfire who gave John MIller grief when he first showed up at the White Horse Diner. I really enjoyed her sass and her vulnerability too. It was also nice to see John find out what was really important to him after having a heart attack. I really enjoyed their love story. This is a great book and a great series. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I love this series and this latest addition is every bit as good as the rest! If you have read the rest of the series then you will know Tansey and this is her chance for a hea in this small town romance! There’s passion, conflict, romance, trust, friendship and so much more that trust me if you love a good romance then this series is a must read!
This author never fails to produce great books.
This series keeps me wanting more.
I love the spunky characters, I want to be their friends.
The plot was so entertaining that I had to read it all the way through.
I never want this series to end.
Good well written story by this author can’t wait to read more. I volunteered to read this arc for my honest opinion
I really enjoyed reading this book! John had a heart attack and quit being a lawyer and bought a diner and leased a small ranch. The manager of the diner has a mind of her own and doesn’t get along with the new owner. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance!
John has a heart attack and is told her needs to slow down. So he buys a diner. He know the manager is sassy, but he has no idea…..As soon as tansy serves a John, not knowing he is the new owner, she is attracted to him. Once she finds out who he is, she thinks she is going to be fired for neingt rude to him. Can they navigate a relationship while trying to run the diner? A great story!
The series continues with Tansy’s story. Tansy is a spirited woman who has guarded her heart ever since her teenage husband left her at 18 yrs old. Now in her 40’s Tansy is comfortable with her life until a new owner of the diner she manages shows up. John has made some major lifestyle changes and finally trying to reach for his goals. His first meeting with Tansy is explosive but there is the start of fireworks. Can a confirmed bachelor and a fiery redhead put aside their fears of commitment and compromise aside to find the happiness they seek? This is a shorter story and while not necessary to have read previous books in the series it does help with information on Tansy’s back story
Tansy and John were great! He buys the diner and she’s been running it for years. When John finally tells her he’s the new owner, Tansy says to keep the others on and let her go – so her staff will have jobs. I enjoyed this story very much and I really liked that both main characters were a bit more mature – something many of us can relate to. I highly recommend books by Milan Watson – she is a kind and wonderful author and that comes thru in her stories. I received an advanced reader copy, but liked the book so much I purchased it.
A beautiful short love story of a middle aged couple. An enjoyable storyline of a small town and a couple finding their love with troubles, heartbreak, fear, love and passion. The characters are interesting and full of life. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
When sparks fly! This is the story of Tansy who is the manager and heart of the White Horse Creek diner. She has worked there for years for different owners. She has lived in the area all her life. John was a big corporate lawyer in Denver until a heart attack proves to him that he needs a calmer life. He buys the diner and moved there. He goes in and Tansy and him have sparks flying as she didn’t know he was the new owner. They are attracted to each other but she has walls put up as she doesn’t trust love after her marriage fell apart. Can he break through and get her to open her heart to love? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. A story touching about how Tansy gets and finds her happy ever after which took her by surprise. It is a small town where everyone is protective of family and friends. This is one great series to read and all are standalone reads.
Milan Watson does it again!!! Every time I read one of the books in the Colorado Crazy series, i thought, ” now THAT was my favorite”; and Ill say it again: THIS was my favorite! Tansy has been in every story because she is the heart of the town. As the manager of the town diner, she knows everyone in town, has the opportunity to interact with everyone, and in some way, be everyone’s friend. We often read where a character in a story says something like, “if you hurt her, you’ll have me to answer to”. I love the way Watson had a quiet ranch hand tell John, our hero, that if he hurts Tansy, he’ll have the whole town to deal with! Watson did a great job at capturing how people with a few more years under their belts can still have the same feelings as those fresh out of college. **SPOILER** There’s a great scene when Tansy’s son, Tanner catches John coming out of his mom’s bedroom and the two men just stare at each other. John, the 52 year old is “not sure what the procedure was from there”! What a great role reversal!
In addition to another wonderful story-line, Watson does a terrific of painting such a beautiful picture of Colorado and small town life that you book your next vacation to White Horse Creek.
I would definitely recommend this book and the entire Colorado Crazy series!
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Milan Watson, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. I loved this book about a middle-aged couple finding true love. Tansy and John had to learn to trust each other and to not let their pasts get in the way of finding out that they were meant for each other in the small town of White Horse Creek. The diner where Tansy had been the manager for almost thirty years was changing for the good after John bought it. Tansy was afraid of change, but John had a surprise for her that turned her fears into joy. You will have to read the book to find out what happened. I highly recommend this book.
This is Fansy’s story. She is 47 and John is 52 and their romance is looking good. I love a story about two people that are not young. Proves older couples can find true love later in their life. John bought the diner Fansy had run for many years. She and John clashed on many issues before they realized what was right in front of them. It is a beautiful love story. I urge you to read Spring In Colorado by Milan Watson.
Silver fox?
Yes, please.
What I liked the best?
That this was an older couple who both have lived lives and have known hardship, heartbreak and illness.
Tansy runs a diner. John has a heart attack that forced him to reevaluate his lifestyle. Hence a slower life in Colorado. With maybe Tansy by his side?
Recommend.
Oh My Goodness. I have loved reading these amazing books. You feel so invested in the characters and story when you read them. These books were gripping, well written and the chemistry between the characters was just awesome!!
This delightful story will warm your heart and have you in John and Tansy’s corner. Tansy has given up on a happily ever after when the man she loved left her. John is a loner and it took a heart attack for him to reevaluate his life. Coming to Colorado was a new lease on life for him and one look at Tansy has him thinking that just maybe his life is finally on the course it should be. Will these two get a happily ever after they both deserve? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Located in the beautiful state of Colorado this romance will awaken your senses. After a medical scare John decides to lighten his load and leave his fast-paced career as a corporate attorney. Little did he know how much his life would change once Tanzy enters his life and eventually his heart. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
