A heartbroken single dad. A handyman with a past full of secrets. And the small town that would change them forever. It should’ve been a dream come true for Liam, inheriting the oldmansion named Superbia Springs. It helped him meet Mason, thehandyman who kept the town running. Mason is sweet, generous, andgood with his hands. (If only he’d use those hands on Liam…) ButMason has a secret, and the … Liam…) But
Mason has a secret, and the old house has a secret, and the whole town
seems full of secrets.
Mason knows he can’t fall for Liam, no matter how the man makes him
burn with passion. Gay single dads are off limits when you’re stuck
in the closet. Liam hates secrets, and after hearing what happened to
Liam’s father and his ex, Mason desperately wants to give him his
heart…and his whole story. But how can he tell Liam what’s really
keeping him in the closet, when it could destroy people’s lives?
Liam knows he should pack up his bags and his baby and head straight
back for his home in the city…but something about Superbia draws him
back inexorably. Maybe it’s the town itself. Maybe it’s the mansion,
with all its mysteries. Or maybe it’s because he can’t get Mason out
of his mind, out of his dreams, out of his heart.
Can the irresistible desire the two men feel for each other overcome
the small-town grudges, feuds and scandals that threaten to keep them
apart?

These two men carry a world of secrets from their past that they have to work through to be able to find their happily ever after. Their journey to finding ever lasting love while short seemed longer in the book because the author drew out all the thoughts and feelings both separately and together. I’m really excited to see if more comes out of this small southern town with its cast of characters and steamy springs.
When Liam inherits a mansion from a relative he’d never heard of before, it’s in a small town called Superbia, something else he’d never heard of. Of course his first thought upon seeing the mansion in such disrepair is to have it renovated and sold. The amount of money he could make off the sale would be more than enough to support himself and his daughter for eternity.
But then…Mason happens. The sweet, solid contractor in Superbia who can give him the inspiration needed to stay put in his new town. They’ll have to fight their way through obstacles, though, and secrets, so many small town secrets.
Though I found Spring Forward sweet, its pace was a bit slow and I found the connection between the two men lacking a touch. Not that there’s anything horribly wrong with this story, it just isn’t particularly exciting unfortunately.
Yet another small town story. The premise seems totally worn out, but I’m glad to say this story is very unique in terms of plot. I loved the idea of an old mansion with Secrets as a focal point!
A very good read. I’m curious to see what comes next in the series!
I loved Liam and Mason’s story. They were so sweet and adorable. This house was amazing, and I still feel like there’s so much more to discover. I liked how they courted each other I thought the way the story built, introducing other characters who I know I’ll see as MCs in future stories in the series was great. They didn’t overtake the story, but helped it develop. I love a story with a single dad and how he figures things out, whether he’s a super natural or a little hopeless. And there’s something that pulls the heartstrings when a man can’t live how he wants and needs to. Their love story was cute, hot and sexy. I totally recommend this book and can’t wait for book number two.
Liam is a single dad who inherited from an old uncle a mansion. A superb mansion.
Mason is a small-town handyman. He’s adorable and sweet and in the closet.
Mason wants to help Liam with the mansion, but he also wants Liam in his life.
Liam has too much pain and worries in his life to really have time for a man in his life. But Mason is special, and he will let his mark on Liam.
Can’t they really have it all?
Spring Forward is book one in the Superbia Springs series. It was my first book by Rachel Kane, and I had a real pleasure to discover her style.
Liam and Mason are made to be together. But they have so much pains, hurts and secrets in their life that they will have to fight their past and fears if they want a happy future together.
The story and the plots are focus on Liam and Mason and it also put the background of the series. The secondary characters are interesting and there’s an atmosphere of secrecy that give me the desire to read more books in this series to discover them all.
It’s a good start for this new series.
Spring Forward by Rachel Kane is book number one in the Superbia Springs series. This is Liam Cooper and Mason Tisdale’s story.
What a fun story. Steamy and suspenseful read with lots of secrets. The characters were great and so were the supporting characters. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I look forward to the next books in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a small town romance with strong characters in Liam and Mason. The author does a great job building the story and pulls you in with all the emotions, secrets, anxiety and fear as well as the sexual tension and hot chemistry between the two men. She adds in a cast of supporting characters to help bring the story to life along with her detailed and vividly painted scenes. I was glued to the pages reading their story as secrets are revealed and the love grows. It’s an emotional love story , moves fluidly and I loved reading. Highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Spring Forward is book one in the new Superbia Springs series by Rachel Kane. In Spring Forward, we are introduced to widower and single dad, Liam Cooper, who inherits a piece of land called Coopers Folly. It was once a prosperous and well known hot springs which drew many visitors. Once the hot springs dried up what was left behind was a dilapidated mansion and grounds that has been left to Liam. He mets local town contractor Mason Tisdale. The are definitely attracted to each other, but both have secrets and pain that prevent them from jumping head first into a relationship. Spring Forward was a pretty good read, long at times, but filled with a bit of drama, mystery and sexual tension.
4 ½ Stars
I enjoyed this book. Liam and Mason are lovable characters who made me want to grab them up and give them cuddles so they could take a break from the world. They are well-drawn and compelling with the complexities in their lives.
The baby is just precious, and the other secondary characters are interesting and well placed in the story. In future books, I hope to see more of Liam’s brother and the friends with which they surround themselves.
The antagonist is sufficiently mean and intimidating enough to have me rooting for Liam and Mason and cheering for the downfall of the one who would harm them and their loved ones.
The passion is strong, the love and other emotions are believable, and the HEA is satisfying.
I had a near-constant case of the warm fuzzies while reading this.
I look forward to more from this author.
