If you love sweet romances (PG-rating), look no further than Rachelle Ayala’s Have a Hart series. The Harts are a family of San Francisco firefighters. Their family motto is: Heart comes first.
At twenty-nine, Connor Hart, is one of the youngest fire chiefs in the country, and he takes his responsibilities seriously with no time for love and relationships. When his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Elaine Woo, … Elaine Woo, bids on him at a bachelor auction and throws in a Dalmatian puppy, he is puzzled and cautious of her motives.
Artist and poet Nadine Woo is always down on her luck. The cast-off half-sister of Dr. Elaine, she’s never measured up, according to her strict and distant father. When Nadine and her mother are about to be evicted from their apartment, she gets an interesting offer from Dr. Elaine Woo. Seems she’s in need of a little bit of help concerning her relationship with Fire Chief Connor Hart.
As soon as Nadine meets Connor, she knows she’s in for a rough ride. Connor is the fireman who rescued her and her little gray kitten, and she’s never forgotten how safe she felt in his arms.
When Nadine takes her sister’s place at a spring fling weekend with Connor, love ignites, and there’s no going back.
Can a spunky little kitty show Connor and Nadine that doing the wrong thing is sometimes right, especially when it comes to love?

I haven’t read/listened to a story quite like this one. The overall concept is good. Most of the characters have been developing since the series began. The new characters left something to be desired, but they were what they were supposed to be. What I didn’t appreciate was all the cheating, scheming and lieing. I realize it goes on but it isn’t right and I don’t generally choose to read about it in my down time.
Jennifer Groberg seems to get better and better.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story in exchange for a honest review.
Jennifer Groberg does a nice narration and brings a great story to life. This is one of my favorite series and I loved this book even more with the narration.
Connor Hart a young Fire Chief is about to marry his childhood sweetheart Elaine Woo, who gave up on their relationship in college to become a doctor. Now she is back and claiming Connor.
Nadine Woo, Elaine’s half-sister from her Father’s mistress is a free-spirited artist. She met Connor one day when he rescued her and her Fiesty Kitty Greyheart. She feels connected to him immediately…until she finds out he is her sister’s fiance and her sister wants her to be their surrogate.
Their father suddenly decides to divorce Elaine’s mom and kick Nadine and her mom out of their apartment for Elaine’s best friend, a young doctor. Schemes abound among Elaine, Nadine, and their brother to break them up.
I loved this story. There is a lot going on and I was surprised at all the drama and twists. Just when you think you have things figured out…Bam! another twist! There is no on-page sex, so the story is sweet and clean.
I loved Nadine and her free-spirited ways. I also liked the poetry in the story and how the meanings fit each situation, almost like a premonition.
If you like sweet, clean romance with lots of twists and drama, Sexy firefighters and sweet artists you will love this book. I highly recommend this book( and the other two Hart stories) for some fun summer reading.
This story in the Hart Family series is a bit more complex and with more twist and turns than the previous ones.
Connor Hart is the Fire Chief whose on , off and back on again relationship with doctor Elaine Woo has spanned over 10 years . She is a workaholic with numerous agendas, and a bit self-centered. Her half sister, Nadine, is a free spiritws artist, unemployed and with a heart of gold.
She meets Connor by accident and is immediately attracted to him. When she finds out who he is engaged to, she is devastated until Elaine asks for a favor that will have Nadine spending time with Connor.
When feelings come out and new plans are made, the world around them starts to work against them.
It’s a story filled with family dynamics, some good in the form of the Hart family , others not so good, as is the case of the Woo family. It’s also a story filled with whodunit, misunderstanding, manipulation and lies.
Will Nadine and Connor find their HEA, or will fate once again keep them apart?
This one is a good addition to the series.
Once again, the narrator did a very good job with all the various voices.
The Hart Family series is just absolutely amazing! This book along with the rest of the series is a very sweet romance! If you like sweet romance than this book is for you! I definitely recommend this book.
It all starts when Nadine is in a tree chasing her cat “Greyheart”. Her father does one thing that gets it all in the motion.
It gets even better and more twist and turns as you read the story. It is mostly about Nadine and Connor Hart. What makes it even more entertaining is that Michael and Elaine and Nadine want to have their father worry about their lives.
Does Nadine father love her or not? To find out you would need to read the story. Michael wants something, but what is the question.
Connor is bugged about his love life though his family and sisters. Who is Connor true love? Nadine does not want to play second fiddle or be a side piece to any man. Will Nadine get her wish and is Connor Hart, her true love? Elaine is an older half sister to Nadine will she help her sister or is she using Nadine for herself?
