Three hot leopard shifters? Yes please.Piper is a librarian at Sacramento State working on her graduate thesis, but her quiet life turns upside down when three hot guys literally crash into her world. They move into her house and her life, telling her she’s wanted by a demon and a witch for her pharaoh’s blood. She just didn’t realize how much they would take over her life in the name of … of protecting her.
Piper is overwhelmed by the paranormal world and everything in it, including the fact that somehow all three of these guys are her mates. She has two weeks to find a way out of a demon contract and figure out how she’s going to deal with all three of these domineering shifters in her life and in her apartment. Will Piper be able to save herself and the pride she’s grown attached to before it’s too late?
*This is a steamy reverse harem shifter romance with some MM. All paranormal books by Emma Dean exist in the same paranormal world – the Council of Paranormals.

I loved the book so much. I was very fantastic and bloody hot. I need more of these book to read!!
I won’t say that this book was my favorite but it also wasn’t the worst I’ve read. The characters were likable enough but they all felt the same. We get insight from all of them it was like the POVs never really changed. I liked the demons and witches of the story a lot. Jessica James was an intriguing character and would have loved to have seen more about her. The author built an interesting world and while I liked it, I’m not 100% sure I would read more from it. I just didn’t feel much when reading this book and that’s an issue for me. I need to connect and I just couldn’t while read this story. Just because it wasn’t connectable for me doesn’t mean that others won’t love it. 3 stars #2OCCJD
This was a really cute light-hearted read. This is the first that I’ve read from this author. I tend to read a lot of reverse harem books and a lot of them that have some m/m action it just seems to be part of the act because they all want her but I loved that his showed they had feeling and been there before hand. Piper was a bit back and forth and seemed to be one personality in one chapter and a different one in the next, but overall the story was cute and I still enjoyed the read.
Fun and amusing erotic read. It was great that the main character is an intelligent woman who loves books. I did roll my eyes at all the Star Wars references, but then I’m more of a Star Trek fan myself. The book was cute and sweet, and I’m a bit sad that it was a standalone.
I picked this as a read, because I was looking for a standalone RH. As far as I can tell, standalone RH’s are rare (at least from my experience. The few I’ve read just don’t seem to really get into the story, but that could be because of relationship/character development in a shorter timeline.
Emma Dean does not have this problem with Spotted Her First. It’s a brilliant standalone, where the characters seem to develop naturally (for a shifter romance), and it doesn’t seem incredibly rushed like it does in other books. You really get stuck into the story. I almost (almost) wish it was a series, but I’m glad there are other books in the same universe, and that we may get to see more from Piper and her mates.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
I totally fell in love with this book from the very first page! We meet Piper a librarian after my own heart since I am one too which may make me a little biased towards her character but it was like an instant connection the character was written so well. Just as we are getting to know her some really crazy things start happening that involve three sexy leopard shifters that claim to be her mates. Since she is human this is overwhelming as she is thrown into the deep end of the paranormal pool. The cop dad was great as he rolled with it while doing his protective thing at the same time. The slow development between them all was nice yet it heats up when it is time too. Overall this is just the perfect blend of world building, characters, fantasy, and magic that creates a truly incredible book. If you like this genre then this is a must read!! My only complaint is that it is a stand alone as I really wanted more. Hopefully we will at least get more books set in the same world at a future date. In case you can’t tell I totally loved it so it gets 5/5 stars.
I have seen this read first as a recommendation from some of my fav RH authors but when I read some of it reviews, I quickly become wary of some of the negative points. Until this day, when I decided to give it a go…best decision ever! The read has captured me real fast. In no way I were annoyed by any of the main characters. Nor did I find the world building and the storyline lacking, as some of the other reviews have said. I agree this could have elaborated further, drawn the story longer but nonetheless still great as one book. I admit the villains fall flat in the end for all their talk of wanting to end the pride.
Plus, the steam guys. Oooh la la!
Can’t wait for the For Fox Sake too-the other installment to this paranormal universe.
I liked this story. Piper is a naughty librarian, distant descendant of Cleopatra and human. Then she finds out she a mate to 3 leopard shifters and that another shifter race wants her for her blood. Will she love her mates in the end? Will she same them all? Good story packs a lot in for a standalone. Can’t wait to read some of the other books by this author.
