“As with all Connie Shelton books, a fantastic read. Can’t wait to move on to the next one.” –5 starsNow that Samantha Sweet has a contract to provide her special handmade chocolates for the wealthy jet-set clients of Book It Travel, Sweet’s Sweets bakery is taking on a whole new dimension. Only problem, Sam isn’t ready. It’s almost Halloween, her pastry shop is bursting at the seams and she … the seams and she needs extra employees but there is no place to put them.
Right before the witching day, she comes upon a large Victorian house she can adapt for the business, and it seems her problem is solved. But is it? The mysterious, spooky noises at night are way more than the normal creaks and groans of an old building. Something else is going on and Sam suspects it may be related to her husband’s newest case, investigating where an abandoned duffle bag crammed full of cash came from. Beau is dealing with a greedy reward-seeker, a robbery with no leads, and a waif who appears and vanishes. Sam’s mystery has her watching for ghosts and working almost around the clock. Is she relying on magic?—well, occasionally.

I love this series romance thrilling mystery you will be swept away eagerly awaiting the next book!
It is nice the heroine is a grey haired woman and a successful entrepreneur, too!

I loved this book. It was intriguing, spooky and very readable. The story line was great and I was disappointed when I finished it. I wanted it to just keep going!
I love this book. When I started reading I did not want to quit. Thank you for writing this awesome book,
Tough to understand the characters as there is very little back story on them. Many books in a series can be read stand alone – apparently this series isn’t one of them.
Good light mystery, characters believeable.
So much fun. Enjoyed the plot & its development. Will look for more of her books.
I think this book was just okay. It took a very long time to get to the point and I really didn’t find anything spooky about it.
Good read
This book was okay. I’m not interested in continuing the series. It seemed to me to follow the same format of other books in this genre I’ve read.
This series is new to me and I’m having a hard time getting invested in the characters plus the plot is lagging a bit. Not my favorite so far, but still entertaining.
Quick read. A little too predictable but still enjoyable to read.
fun cozy mystery, not too spooky really.
A mystery with a touch of humor and magic. A delightful diversion.
Fun read about unusual happenings in a location I can identify with.
The book was enjoyable but at times bogged down a bit with too much written on bakung and making chocolates.
Enjoyed learning more about candy-making than following the mystery.
Good Halloween story.
This story started off interesting, but by the 4th chapter I was exhausted with the character. She was so overworked and overwhelmed (like all of us) that even the mysterious wooden box couldn’t make it more interesting. It had enough twists and turns that kept me from deleting it from my Kindle, but not enough to make me want to read this author again.
