“As with all Connie Shelton books, a fantastic read. Can’t wait to move on to the next one.” –5 starsNow that Samantha Sweet has a contract to provide her special handmade chocolates for the wealthy jet-set clients of Book It Travel, Sweet’s Sweets bakery is taking on a whole new dimension. Only problem, Sam isn’t ready. It’s almost Halloween, her pastry shop is bursting at the seams and she … the seams and she needs extra employees but there is no place to put them.
Right before the witching day, she comes upon a large Victorian house she can adapt for the business, and it seems her problem is solved. But is it? The mysterious, spooky noises at night are way more than the normal creaks and groans of an old building. Something else is going on and Sam suspects it may be related to her husband’s newest case, investigating where an abandoned duffle bag crammed full of cash came from. Beau is dealing with a greedy reward-seeker, a robbery with no leads, and a waif who appears and vanishes. Sam’s mystery has her watching for ghosts and working almost around the clock. Is she relying on magic?—well, occasionally.

i enjoyed this book . it was very hard to put down.
Loved this book…I went back and bought the first book in the series and plan to purchase and complete the entire series! Loved it!
Not into ghosts but enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed the mystery part of the book and the characters are great.
Great pacing, enjoyed the way everything came together at the end, appreciated the relationship between the protagonist and her husband, and appreciated that the sister came forward with the truth.
The story follows two lines, both entertaining and very different.
Couldn’t put it down!
Different and fun story! Mystery, detective, baking, mystical and interesting characters!
I have really enjoyed this series!
I love reading books by Connie Shelton!
Thoroughly enjoyed this fun mystery. Easy to read, likable characters.
Absolutely loved this book and it was a page turner. Enjoy!!!
Great reading!
Definitely a page turner.
Great read. Enjoyable. Kept my attention on every page.
I enjoyed so much about this book! The characters were well thought out, the situations and the balance of every day life and some magical surprises along with a good who done it to boot! I couldn’t put it down, and read it really quickly! I would love to know what happens with some of the characters Julio and Babul, and what more Sam found out about the author that lived in the Victorian house years ago. I know there are more books in the series and I can’t wait to read them too!
I’ve lost track of how many books are in this series so far—have loved them all!!
Love Connie Shelton’s books. Samantha and the other characters are great. The New Mexico setting is interesting. I will be reading more of her books.
The Ann Charles series I like the Best. I can never get enough of her chocolate goodies.
Not really a fan of the supernatural, this book was interesting and instructional re. chocolate making. I read the book when she found the magic box. It was interesting how she used it. The only thing that is disturbing is the appearance of the master chocolate maker who appears and disappears at will. Maybe she explains him in an earlier book. I only read 2 of hers so far so I don’t know.
