“As with all Connie Shelton books, a fantastic read. Can’t wait to move on to the next one.” –5 starsNow that Samantha Sweet has a contract to provide her special handmade chocolates for the wealthy jet-set clients of Book It Travel, Sweet’s Sweets bakery is taking on a whole new dimension. Only problem, Sam isn’t ready. It’s almost Halloween, her pastry shop is bursting at the seams and she … the seams and she needs extra employees but there is no place to put them.
Right before the witching day, she comes upon a large Victorian house she can adapt for the business, and it seems her problem is solved. But is it? The mysterious, spooky noises at night are way more than the normal creaks and groans of an old building. Something else is going on and Sam suspects it may be related to her husband’s newest case, investigating where an abandoned duffle bag crammed full of cash came from. Beau is dealing with a greedy reward-seeker, a robbery with no leads, and a waif who appears and vanishes. Sam’s mystery has her watching for ghosts and working almost around the clock. Is she relying on magic?—well, occasionally.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, as it was first time reading this author. Really enjoyed how the subplots were woven together to come to their conclusions. Will definitely read more by Ms. Shelton.
This is the first of the series that I read I really enjoyed this book I don’t really believe in magic but there was characters that made you want to follow what was next I really wanted Sam to save Sarah’s mom also but I will definitely read on I think I want to read the beginning of the story
For a cozy it was very good. I like cozys but sometimes they can be sloppy and mediocre. This book was good.
I really enjoyed this book. I really liked that there is no love triangle. She is married. I got this book for free and I didn’t expect to find an author I would like this much. This is a cozy easy read. I do read heavy mysteries and thrillers but can take only so much before I need something positive and fun. This is it. I also got the audio and enjoyed the story telling too.
I like this so much I went and got the first book in the series. I am enjoying that one also.
This a well written cozy with a central character who is intelligent and likable. Nothing terribly in-depth here but is very entertaining and has some interesting sides into the chocolate business . Many cozies end up being rather mindless – not the case here. Very enjoyable.
Cute and quick read
Fun to read
This is an excellent mystery for a quiet evening. Great characters involved in solving a robbery in a small town. Recommend.

Interesting magical candy with help from secret ingredients. Magic box origins unknown
This cozy mystery is full of chocolate, baked goods, magic and a solid relationship. Fun and entertaining.
Wholesome, fast paced, engaging, with wonderfully real characters, & just enough magic to hold one’s interest. Great story line, related beautifully
love Connie Shelton’s books
Didn’t want to put it down. Found myself grabbing it during the night to read a “few” more pages then reading for 2-3 hours.
I enjoyed the book! Looking forward to reading more of these books!
