My name is Alyssa Grey, and I have no idea what I’m doing… in life, love, with my magic powers—you name it.Working as a personal assistant to the busiest realtor in the small Southern town of Swan Hallow always kept me plenty busy, but then my boss’s partner died and I got a promotion… Just without the extra pay.Now I’m showing old homes, and every single one of them is haunted. As a witch, I’m … haunted. As a witch, I’m not supposed to be able to see ghosts. But I do. And they know I do. And I know they know I do. And, oh boy.
Worse yet, an apparition that looks an awful lot like my boss’s dead partner has come knocking, and demanding I solve her murder. I’ve been given an ultimatum: help or die. It looks like I can’t really trust anyone any more. Will my cat, mouse familiar, and a new shapeshifter friend be enough to help me get the job done in what little time I have left?

Another story By Carolyn ..
I’ve read many of her books and I haven’t found one that I haven’t absolutely loved…

A place where mice can talk.
Witches are amongst The Mortals.
Witch’s an other Supernaturals.
This is Book 1 to a new series.
Looking forward to reading more of these .
A witty new series from one of my favorite authors is just what I needed! Alyssa, a witch at a crossroads in life, finds that her new familiar is a mouse (seriously, everyone else gets a cat or dog and she gets a mouse, LOL!) with a smart aleck attitude, she sees ghosts even though witches are not supposed to see ghosts and it is possible that her boss or coworker is a killer. What else could possibly go wrong!?! Get ready to laugh and enjoy as the story unfolds while you are treated to a delightfully entertaining afternoon! I absolutely can not wait to see what happens in the next book!
Spooks for Sale is an awesome book! I love this new series by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson. It is interesting and fun. The characters are fantastic. I love the animal characters. The plot is unique and engaging. This book is suspenseful and exciting, with so many twists and turns. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to more in this series.
Spooks for Sale by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson was a magical fun story that introduces Alyssa Grey and her small southern town of Swan Hallow. Alyssa is a witch who sees ghosts which in this paranormal series isn’t supposed to be possible. There are several differences to the paranormal that Ms. Aspenson has set up in this book but I’ve found that is often the case in each paranormal world. Mystery, magic, a new familiar for Alyssa, humor and developing characters that I want to get to know kept me turning the pages.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.
This is the first of a brand new series by one of my very favorite authors, Carolyn Ridder Aspenson, and wow! This paranormal cozy is exciting, emotional, scary, sad, funny, all in one very special, suspenseful, and extremely creative book. I can’t wait for the next one! All the characters are great, and look forward to getting to know them better in future books in this series.
Wonderful read! I loved it. I loved John especially. I look forward to more of the series. This one might be almost as good as the Angela Panther series, and that is saying something. Very Very Good!
The beginning has a lot of explanation for it. Then you get to the good part: the murder & the cute little mouse along with the dead woman’s cat that both end up being helpers. Good read. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.
A fun beginning to a new paranormal series. There are witches, werewolves, shapeshifters, a cat named Roland, a murder and…a talking mouse named John. Although she is a witch, Alyssa Grey is from a family of ghost hunters. After her boss, Holly, dies from a fall down the stairs, she investigates whether Holly fell or was pushed. Holly’s cat was with her when she fell, remembers that Holly was pushed, but not “who done it”. Alyssa has help from her familiar, John (aka the mouse), and calls on her powers when she is threatened. If you are a fan of paranormal cozy mysteries, then check out Ms. Aspenson’s various series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
