Oh man this story was amazing. I laughed, cried and swooned. Isabelle Ronin is a new author to me but I need more. Can was the best even when I hated him and Kara was incredible. I really felt all her emotions. Please let there be a book two. This isn’t a cliffhanger but it could definitely continue. Absolutely loved.
Extremely good
I have no idea how to review this since it took me so long to read and the first two I read in no time at all. Kara and Cameron are enough to make my head spin. I love them, I do but their wasn’t much laughter for this one, it seemed all to serious. I will keep following Isabelle but I hope book 2 of this book is better. Restless In Love is on Wattpad for the following development of this book but I am one to wait until officially published for the Wattpad Author’s.

I’m dissappointed. Having met Cam and Kara in Chasing Red and having been so curious about what happened between them, I thought I’d get answer in this book but NOPE.
This book is their beginning, how they met, got along, got to ‘dating’ but it had nothing to do with what happened between them in Chasing/Always Red, it was all from before and it was extremely disappointing for me. This book should have been written in present/past chapters, that would have been way better for us as readers who had been waiting for answers, picked up this book for those answers and got zilch, nothing, nada.
And what’s even worse is that their beginning wasn’t even all that great. Cameron is so hot and cold all the time, and I get why but he didn’t have to be so undecisive, it pissed me off. And Kara, she’s starts off has a strong female, an actual spitfire but then she falls for Cam without even knowing him, in like a week and that is just so unrealistic. She loses some of her badassery and just seems a little weak and naive. I didn’t like that at all. Insta love books need to have a certain care in the way they are written, and for me this one just didn’t fully work.
I loved Cam and Kara in Caleb and Red’s book but I am extremely disappointed with them here, I was expecting so much more. And I honestly don’t know how they go from the point where they ended in this book to how they were in Chasing Red, I’m still so curious and I need the answers I was seeking. That is basically the only reason I will punk up Reckless in Love when it comes out.
That being said, I really was expecting more, the character development was lacking, and their love was just too sudden but I did enjoy Cam’s troubled past and I’m curious to know how all that will relate to his mother and the problem she poses in his life. Yeah, if you’re expecting Cam and Kara’s story to be on the same level as Caleb and Red, lower your expectations. I don’t want you to be disappointed like me.

Spitfire in Love by Isabelle Ronin is the story of Cameron St. Laurent and Kara Hawthorne.
Cam and Kara have a instant hot connection but Cam isn’t sure what his feelings are. This had some funny parts and one part I could have done with out but overall this was a good read with its build to their story.

DNF ~ I didn’t realize this was a YA genre novel when I began but gave it a chance. At about page 90 I gave up, read the end, realized that it would be a HFN ending that leads to another book and decided not to invest more time reading. I believe that for those who enjoy this genre it may be just the thing but for me…not so much.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC – This is my honest review.
For me – 1 star – didn’t really like it
For someone who likes the genre – a whole lot more stars, probably.
NetGalley Rating – 3
I really enjoyed the electrifying battle of wills between Cam and Kara and the odd laugh out loud moments in this book. Both characters are independent and very abrupt. They don’t suffer fools gladly.
From the beginning, their tempers and the passion they have for each other flared. Misunderstandings abound and there is not much communication between the two besides the heated fights. Although this may be a deterrent for some, I believe the avoidance and the miscommunications are true to both characters. They do not trust easily and have a hard time showing emotion.
With that being said, however, I found the pace eventually lagged. Their miscommunications and sparring lasted at least three-quarters of the book.
The last quarter was left for the unravelling of secrets and the opening of their minds and hearts to each other. Although well executed, it felt rushed. The ending itself feels unfinished because of this.
There was so much build up when it came to his mom as well and it seems that thread just died. Almost like it was not part of the plot line when it seemed that she should’ve been. I was disappointed that there was no follow through on this and the fact that there was no epilogue.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
