Adelaide loses more people in these two years. Leighton is still not available to her. The characters re well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly. This book has so much heartbreak that it left somewhat drained.

What started out as a semi-chaotic story of a young girl with boy issues, daddy issues, and “I have no real friends” issues in Magic Princess – Whimsical Cove Book 1 – blossomed into a mature tale of a young woman coming into her own.
Maureen Shigeno has woven the life story of Adelaide, a young girl who lost her mother at a tender age, endures a strained relationship with her father, and teeters on the edge of a tortured relationship with her nanny’s son, Leighton. All of these ordeals have culminated because Adelaide is special — she’s a witch! But, not just any witch. She is wanted by vampire kings, werewolf leaders, and even hot guys not of her time. Her hands are full, to say the least.
Looking past minor proofreading errors, readers can enjoy a thoroughly thought-out adventure of paranormal activities: skillful witchcraft, elemental manipulation, sneaky shifters, vengeful vampires, vicious werewolves, jaded fairies, and jilted lovers.
Spirits Intertwined – book 2 of the Whimsical Cove series is sure to entertain.
This is a story that is very well written especially in regards to the time travel. This is book 2 of the Whimsical Cove series and is definitely better enjoyed and understood if book 1 is read first. Characters are very likable and realistic with amazing chemistry between them. I really enjoyed this book.

Not having read any previous book, I have to admit that I was a bit lost. I did like the idea of the time travel where Addie was pulled back in time to both hers and Leighton’s past life. She learned about herself a bit more and, with Leighton unavailable to her, she seemed to grow stronger and more self-reliant.
The characters seemed interesting, and the story line in this book seemed well done. I was intrigued enough that I will be going back to the previous book so I can fill in the blanks a little better for myself. Sometimes you can figure things out from context, but other times, it’s more expedient to just go back and read what you missed!
This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Maureen Shigeno; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Adelaide has experienced so much loss in her young life. With the events of last year, Leighton not being available to her is one more thing for her to deal with. But her relationship with her dad has gotten so much better. She is determined to go through the semester in the best way possible. Her vampire friends from the previous semester aren’t there. But she slowly moved forward in completing her sophomore year.
Her junior year is a bit unorthodox. And she is pulled back in time. Where she meets her past self and Leighton’s past self. This is an interesting time. She learns so much about herself and the development of Whimsical Cove.
Adelaide loses more people in these two years. Leighton is still not available to her. This book was heartbreaking, but informative. I am really looking forward to the next one.
The second book in the Whimsical Cove series a well written story about time travel and learning how to trust in yourself. Adelaide get thrust back into the year 1692 where she learns how Whimsical Cove began. What does her dream mean? A great story and I want to read the next book. Here’s to hating Leighton through the whole book!! Although he basically deserted Addie, his lack of appearance eventually turned her into a stronger character. She learned self love and how to be comfortable with herself without having to rely on Leighton. Along with Leighton being MIA and unreliable, Addie unfortunately experiences several losses throughout the book. She discovers that although she has lost a lot, she still has friends that care about her and she isn’t as alone as she previously thought.
There were a lot of great things in this book that I enjoyed. The time travel was a nice little twist. I liked seeing into Addie and Leighton’s past life and being able to understand their link a bit more. The flashbacks of lost memories that Addie had throughout the book were also a favorite. Addie learned so much about herself through those as well as how much Leighton actually helped her as she grew up. But she also realized how much he actually made her forget.
I’m interested to see what her nightmares are really about and who will attack or make their move next one her and her friends!
