If anyone appreciates what it means to be dead to the world, it’s Ivy Wilde.Barely recovered from her brush with necromancy, Ivy is flung once more into a world of intrigue, adventure and potential death and disaster. It’s not her fault – it just so turns out that she’s now the only person in the entire world who can communicate with the dead. And they’re a chatty bunch with a list of demands. … list of demands.
When the ghosts offer information about a witch-hating mass murderer in return for Ivy’s help, she has no choice but to get involved. She might be getting herself into more trouble than she realises though – and that’s even before she’s dragged to Sunday dinner so she can meet Winter’s family…
This is the third book in The Lazy Girl’s Guide To Magic series.

Spirit Witch is book three in The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic by Helen Harper. I recommend reading the series in order.
I fell for this series the moment I opened book one and each book after has been another fun adventure to enjoy.
Shenanigans ensue with our favorite lazy witch, but now she’s different in that she can see ghosts. Not that she wants to; because said ghosts want her to do things for them; especially a dead former head of the Order of Magic Enlightenment who demands she stop a killer targeting witches.
Ivy, despite wanting a quiet life and to stay away from the order and just cost throw life ends up back in the thick of things. Besides trying to stop a killer with her lover/boyfriend, Rafe Winter, she’s going to meet the parents too. Oh my!
The banter is fun and I like the romance of opposites attract. I’m happy to see the romance as a side story and not the focal point in this cozy mystery. The adventure and mystery as to who the killer is was enjoyable.
I had a great time with Ivy, the ghosts we meet along the way, and how things turned out.
Sprit Witch was a wonderful fun read in this series. If your looking for a fun cozy mystery series then I recommend giving this series a try.
Rated: 3.5 Stars
I’m still enjoying this series even though this, book 3, is darker. Here we find Ivy recovering from saving Scotland from necromancy magic. She’s allowed – no, expected – to lie on the couch and let Winter and her friends fuss over her. Perfect for a self-proclaimed lazy witch, right? Except, there’s an unexpected ability that Ivy has as the result of defeating the necromancy magic. I’ll not say what it is, to avoid spoilers. This book has lots of action, appearances by Brutus (love him!) and a growing relationship between Ivy and Raphael Winter as they track down a very bad man. I do hope there will be more to this series.
Spirit Witch by Helen Harper a five-star read that you would wish upon a star for. This is the third book in the Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic series and they just get better and better. Ivy Wilde just gets more fun and a little crazier with each story, but it just makes you love her more. Add a little Winter to the mix and you make it all go Boom, I have massive crushage on Winter especially when he was at his snooty best, I love that we get to see a little of who made Winter the man he is now in the story. After the events of the last book Ivy now has a new party trick that makes her think she’s losing the plot, and she may be, just not in the way she thinks, add a little Brutus to the mix and boom amazing read. What a great story, Helen Harper never fails to deliver. I can’t believe that I forgot to post this review, so my apologies, I read the book just after release date and only just realised I haven’t posted.
Spirit Witch
The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic, Book 3
By: Helen Harper
Narrated by: Tanya Eby
LOL, This series just gets better! Start from the beginning, you don’t want to miss the fun. Something happens in book two that causes Ivy to see ghosts now. It is hilarious! This whole series has kept me laughing. It is a fun series with lots of action, crazy characters, (especially her cat Brutus my favorite), and so much more! This is my new favorite series and I read or listen to over 900 books a year. Be sure to read book 4 too! it isn’t in audible.
The narrator is super awesome! She makes it so funny, she has the right stuff for these books.
Cracking series that I recommend you check out, especially if you like quirky English humour. No one does bonkers like the Brits.
I love this series. Spirit Witch is a phenomenal wrap-up to this amazingly fascinating series. Ivy and Winter are one of my favorite couples ever. Brutus is an interesting and unique character as well. The basis of this story is really entertaining and the way the story ended was perfect. I love the epilogue and the POV that it’s told from. I truly wish there was more to the series but, I know that the author will bring us more amazing stories so, I’ll survive the ending of The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic.
Awesome series! Awesome characters! A must read!
