It only takes one defining moment. One look. One dance. One conversation.Sarah knows from the second she meets Liam that their connection is more than just instant attraction. It’s deep, it’s consuming, and has the potential to be the real thing. But true love comes at a price. Fuelled by Liam’s past, Sarah’s issues, and a messy web of family ties, business partnerships, and exes, the combined … partnerships, and exes, the combined forces threaten to snuff out their new found relationship. Will that spark be smothered by outside forces? Or will they be carried like smoke from the ashes and sent spiralling skywards? Written in Lesley Jones’ usual heartfelt, witty, and emotional voice, this dual point of view story is just the beginning of her Spiralling series. Look for book two, late 2016.

Liam is Sarah’s brother’s business partner. They are instantly attracted to each other. But just when things are going their way, his past rears her ugly, bitchy head and Sarah shuts him out. After proving the ex wrong, Sarah and Liam can finally have their HEA. Or can they?
I love Lesley Jones’ writing. The angst is epic. She’s hinted that things go awry in book 2 of this duet. Hopefully all will end well with Liam and Sarah.
Spiralling Skywards is a five+++ star read. I can always tell Lesley’s stories as soon as I open a book and start reading. Like all of Lesley’s books it was written amazingly. I am never disappointed! Lesley has blown this one out of the water just like the rest.
Spiralling Skywards has so much angst, love, romance going on. It keeps you turning the page and not want to put the book down.
I loved the characters. Lesley knows how to make you feel like you are there in the story. Liam *sigh* Liam, I fell in love with him from the start along with Luke. They were so sweet and took over my heart. Loved Sarah’s innocence with relationships and love.
Sarah and Liam met at Luke’s birthday party and there was an instant attraction. Liam is in Australia to open a business with Sarah’s brother Luke. He was not planning on staying nor will he? They both have secrets that are haunting them.
Will they be able to get past these deep dark secrets and move on?
This is book 1 to the Spiralling series. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2! I recommend this book to everyone. If you have not read this book or any of Lesley’s’ books, I highly suggest it!
I loved it was a great book
Lesley can pull you in from the word get go, she has that magic touch. Carnage still makes me cry whenever I hear some song, some scene, and names of Georgia or Maca mentioned anywhere.
In this story too, she adds her special signature magic and brings two people from opposite sides of the world together with Insta-Love. Liam Delaney is escaping from his clawing ex, ruined marriage and general disillusionment of relationships. And where does he land, right smack dab in the bar where he meets Sarah Carter, l’il sister to his partner and bro-buddy, Luke Carter. One look at him and her sass sways overtime
“My heart regrouped and swam happily and effortlessly up through my insides like a mermaid, a beautiful smiley, sparkly tailed mermaid, taking up its rightful place in my chest, before picking up its happy, euphoric rhythm.”
She’s off limits for a whole lotta reasons but when your heart goes South and your schlong goes north, senses fly out of the window. And that’s exactly what happens here. Fire meets fire and it starts blazing, albeit secretly. Soon its heat is visible for all to see and feel. The inferno that erupts, burns everybody. And I mean everybody. There’s heartbreak of gigantic proportions, tears by the drums fistfights and misunderstandings like you’d wanna shake some sense into the characters and yes, there’s a “vixen” Olivia.
“My heart once again shattered. It had been repairing itself all day. I’d sticky taped the fractured pieces back together and then bandaged them tight, but it hadn’t been enough protection, not against him.”
My emotions went through a wringer and now on to book two for more knife twisting, cause why not!
This one doesn’t end in a major cliffy so to speak, but I wanna know what happens next .
I know, I know, it’s taken me a while, but finally I managed to get comfy and sink myself into this novel. Afterall it’s Lesley Jones we are talking about, and if you are anything like me you know when Lesley writes you get something magical, something all consuming and breathtaking.
And yep, that’s exactly what I got with this novel.
We Meet Liam and Sarah.
Liam an Aussie, Sarah a Brit.
Liam travels to England for work, starting a branch of his business with his best mate Luke.
Business partners and best friends.
Luke is turning 30, Liam attending a surprise party that Sarah has organised.
Sarah is Luke’s little sister.
Liam sees Sarah.
Sarah sees Liam.
Instant chemistry.
See the problem yet?
Maybe not, but you will…..Because Liam and Sarah’s story is nothing short of explosive.
I loved every minute of this novel. Highly emotional, I found myself either laughing my butt off or struggling to breathe through the tears.
A pure, intoxicating story about two people struggling with their pasts.
A raw and emotional story about two people trying to just simply figure life out.
A breathtakingly beautiful story about trust and hope.
A story about a perfectly imperfect love.
Guys I can’t recommended this novel enough. A truly beautiful read for those who are believers in finding love when you least expect it.
5 stars.
I just want to start this review by saying I absolutely love books by Lesley Jones; she will always be a one click author for me. I love her easy style of writing, it’s so easy to get sucked in to the story and lose track of time and this book was no exception. I virtually read it in a day.
There was the usual drama, angst and humour that Lesley dishes up. It did seem a little slow to get going in the beginning.
However, I couldn’t get on with the names of the characters, for me they didn’t fit. I don’t know why but that just niggled me throughout the book, but that’s just my opinion. That isn’t why I have knocked a star off; the reason I have only awarded 4* is because I didn’t like Sarah’s character, she came across as weak with nothing about her. I’m used to the usually spunky, sassy, opinionated female MC that Lesley creates. I get she had hang ups about turning into her mother but it just came across as whinny and immature. I had to refrain from shouting at my kindle “enough already. I get it”!! Also, I just didn’t feel the connection between Liam & Sarah after a month they were professing undying love for each other, but I didn’t feel any heat, the lust, sexual tension. Their relationship felt a bit forced.
Loved Sasha and Sarah’s relationship and I would’ve liked to have seen this side of Sarah come through more in her relationship with Liam. We do get to see some sass and attitude and I loved it!
I was also expecting it to finish on a bit of a cliff hanger, so I was a little disappointed with the ending as it seemed a bit of an anti climax. I’m looking forward to reading the second part. I’m just hoping Sarah’s character redeems herself.
